Peace Magic and Truth Healing with Dr. Thomas Clough Daffern TPP249

Play

In this episode I’m joined again by my favorite Tantric scholar Dr. Thomas Clough Daffern for another adventure in tantric studies.

About Thomas:

Dr. Thomas Clough Daffern B.A. (Hons.) PGCE. D.SC. (Hon), PhD. is a philosopher, historian, teacher, poet, author, lecturer, musician, thinker, educator, consultant and peace studies specialist. His academic background includes degrees in European and world history (with political philosophy) and religious education, plus a long period of intense personal study in philosophy, religion and the history of ideas – together with over 30 years teaching experience in the same fields. He has also trained and practised in conflict management within communities and schools, specialising in multifaith and multicultural mediation. He is also a trained and experienced teacher in secondary schools, specialising in philosophy, religious education, history and citizenship studies. He was awarded his PhD from the University of London for a thesis which explores the history of the search for peace from 1945-2001 and which proposes a new field of historiography, Transpersonal History, as the best way to establish a rigorous discourse on peace among rival and contending spiritual and intellectual traditions, currently battling for hegemony on the planet. He is an expert in research techniques and methodologies on all aspects of history, religious studies, the history of world philosophy and transpersonal psychology. He has lectured in peace studies, philosophy and religious studies for many years at the Universities of London and Oxford, and has spoken twice at the UN Headquarters about the role of Universities in changing the climate of fear and violence on the planet to one of trust and wisdom-seeking. He is a founder and coordinator of International Philosophers and Historians for Peace and has worked with philosophers and intellectuals from many countries worldwide to help establish intellectual and spiritual networks for peace and goodwill. In 1990 he was elected in Moscow as Coordinator of International Philosophers for Peace, a specialist body of philosophers worldwide searching for peace and international understanding.

He is Director of the International Institute of Peace Studies and Global Philosophy (IIPSGP) which works across many academic fields to bring together all those with an interest in and a commitment towards the study of peace and philosophy on all levels of the personal and global and to applying the qualities of love and wisdom to the resolution of the problems and tensions of today’s world. IIPSGP arose out of a feasibility study which Thomas undertook for the University of London into the proposed establishment of an Institute of Peace Studies (from 1989-1992). IIPSGP now operates as an autonomous Institute with members scattered worldwide. Thomas is also Founder of The Global Green University, which has arisen from the work of IIPSGP and was launched in 2000 as a pilot project in complementary higher education, to bring into being a new global higher education initiative which can provide space for the deeper kind of learning which we believe is needed at this time of critical transition in the history of planet earth.

Thomas has developed long term educational programmes to widen understanding of the causes of conflict and approaches to peace and to assist social and cultural development. He has also created, (in association with the Gandhi Foundation and the World Conference on Religion and Peace), the Multifaith and Multicultural Mediation Service. The M.M.M.S. is the first mediation service to specialise in disputes in which issues of faith and/or culture are present. He has also served as an educational adviser to numerous organisations including the UN and UNESCO. He has travelled widely in India and has visited 8 times, travelling throughout the country and meeting academics and spiritual seekers. He has extensive knowledge of Indian religious and philosophical teachings and has proposed the formation of an Indian Union Mediation Service to prevent conflicts in the entire sub-continent. He is a lay member of the Anglican Church, as well as a practicing Druid elder, Qabalist, Sufi, Yogi, Tantric and universal mystic with an extensive knowledge of all world religious and philosophical traditions. He served as educational director of the Gandhi Foundation with the late Surur Hoda, and as Secretary General of the World Conference on Religions and Peace (UK and Ireland) from 1990-1997 attending and contributing to many of its international conferences in Rome, Vienna, Sweden and Paris. As an ecumenical esotericist and universal mystic, he has also spoken at Theosophical, Anthroposophical and other esoteric organisations and networks worldwide, and helped convene the Network of Wisdom Schools at the Theosophical Society headquarters in London in 2000 for Sancta Sophia Seminary. He has spoken in Edinburgh to the Edinburgh International Festival For Middle Eastern Spirituality and Peace on several occasions, running a workshop there on the Esoteric Dimensions of Peacemaking in the Middle East, focused on his book The Qabalah Runes. He has lectured in the USA on various occasions, including at Sancta Sophia Seminary, as well as at Findhorn in Scotland and the Edinburgh and Israeli Theosophical Society.

LETTER FROM EUROPE – by DR THOMAS CLOUGH DAFFERN – MARCH 2020

I was asked to supply a monthly update from Europe on developments in peace, nonviolence and geopolitics etc. Here, we have been watching events in India unfold with some perplexity. Since I was recently in Delhi for the International Conference on Peace and Nonviolent Action that Rajasthan Patrika reported on in December, I thought I would supply an update. Our Youth Wing, for the World Intellectual Forum, that we set up in Delhi, recently issued a declaration that is important, regarding the recent chaotic street battles in Delhi, that bring so much sorrow to all who love India here in Europe and throughout the world. Therefore I hope that readers of Rajasthan Patrika might like to see what we said.

DECLARATION ON NONVIOLENT INDIA – WORLD INTELLECTUAL FORUM – YOUTH WING

In December 2019 we founded in Delhi, the World Intellectual Forum Youth Wing. This was during the International Conference on Peace and Nonviolent Action organised by Anuvibha, the international Jain peace organisation founded by the late Jain Saint Acharya Tulsi, based in Jaipur, which works for a nonviolent world. Already in December some restlessness on the streets of Delhi had started as a result of the Citizenship Amendment Bill legislation. Now in February 2022 the situation is escalating, Many people in Delhi are scared that unless this violence is stopped it will only get worse and worse. We are reminded of the tragic riots that happened in India when the British left in 1948 and rioting like this between different religions broke out in Calcutta. It only ceased because Mahatma Gandhi had the courage to go there to fast to the death unless it stopped. Fortunately Muslim and Hindu leaders were able to get their people to stop fighting with Gandhi to lead them.

So now, in February 2020, on behalf of the Youth Wing of the World Intellectual Forum , we want to say to our dear friends, young men and women and teenagers of Delhi (and other citizens in India) that

1) we are all first and foremost human beings – whether we are Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Christians, secular, no matter what party we belong to, or what God we pray to – so let us treat each other always with respect and reverence and kindness

2) It is vital for young people to break the cycles of violence that we inherit from the older generations. Let us not perpetuate these outmoded wars between Hindus, Muslims, Jews, Christians etc that have been going on for millennia. Ours is a new generation and we have the power to begin the world anew, to start a new story, of peace and prosperity in India, if only we refuse to be recruited to these old narratives. Let us instead respect all religions, and let us study together their pitfalls and their glories, just as Akbar did in his days, or theosophists did in the time of Mahatma Gandhi. This tolerance and great mindedness is the true India we know and love.

3) The vital genius of India’s contribution to the world’s civilisations has always been in her philosophical depths – in Sikhism, in Jainism, in Buddhism, in Hinduism, in Islamic Sufism,, in theosophy, in Gandhi’s ahimsa movement etc, and this is the India we wish to reawaken and therefore we appeal to the young people of Delhi – Let us not get involved in these conflicts on our streets ! These are not our fights. Our fight is the true inner jihad towards knowledge, towards wisdom and towards true love. We can show our dislike for the government laws such as the Citizenship Amendment Bill nonviolently, by out-thinking our political elders, and coming up with better, more peaceful ideas.

4) We appeal likewise to the police and the army – protect the weak and innocent and do not take sides. In communal violence like this everyone is a victim, so you must be scrupulously neutral and try and stop all the fighting. The state of Indian is by law a secular state with the judges, police and army sworn to uphold the rights of all Indians to go about our daily lives in peace and safety. We appeal to your as professionals not to make this situation worse but to smooth over these difficulties and restore peace.

5) We appeal to the government of PM Modi likewise to cancel his order of 3 billion dollars to the USA for weapons and killing machines and instead, use this money for peace education, nonviolence training, for putting classes on mediation and consensus building and civic awareness into every school in India. Let our children and young people learn about the glories of each other’s’ spiritual and intellectual heritage – let us be proud of the generations of great scholars, saints and sages India has produced in all faiths – and let us not allow a climate of fear, distrust or racial or religious superiority to creep into our national character.

6) At our founding conference in New Delhi we heard from leading experts of nonviolence education and training that there is way for people to learn to overcome violence. Experts came to India from many countries around the world and shared their practices and expertise. We want the youths of India to learn these skills, how to master difficult emotions of vengeance, hatred, jealousy, fear etc. and how to replace them with love, compassion and skinless – and this should be for all Indians, whether we are Muslim, Jain, Sikh. Zoroastrian, Bahai, Hindu, Buddhist, Christian, secular or whatever. Peace is the birth right of everyone on earth and everyone in India.

7) We urge that the government of India therefore authorises training in nonviolence as part of the educational right of every Indian school and university student – and we pledge to work with young members of all political parties in the Indian parliament to make this happen. We urge that an emergency meeting of MP’s take place in the Raj Sabah to hear from us and listen to our demands that India restore our default position of peace-ability. We used to be the mecca of the world for all who love nonviolence, and this violence on our streets now is shaming our heritage and our true good name.

My Non Verbatim Show Notes:

6 months since we spoke, a lot going on

comparative philosophy, see the job as medical doctor, very interested in medicine

tantra, buddhist/hindu argued before we can reach enlightenment we have to have health

enlightenment is spiritual health

planetary outbreak of dis-ease

ease is health, got this disease going on

occupied with coronavirus outbreak, from metaphysical perspective

tantra mutual healing

never gonna get healing unless we get through

tantra, tan = extension, tra = truth

truth is the transcendental principle that unifies opposites, also in word three

when conflict, the third principle, the threesome goes beyond and creates truth

situation on planet, all these conflicts,

watching impeachment

britain totally polarized over brexit

deli, we think of india as a place of tantra, love, but rioting gangs of youth

metaphysics of tantra, the transcendental reconciliation of opposites

problem on planet, politicians not capable of telling the truth

truth is whatever advances there party or position or keeps them in power

suffering from a truth deficit

chinese outbreak, wuhan

mainstream documentary, australian television had a crew in wuhan, outbreak of corona virus

interviewed people, documented outbreak

what’s revealed is pretty shocking

first case december 1st, thought normal pneumonia, then a few doctors realized a problem, lots of cases, more than normal

created a chat forum, people started dying, realized it was serious

tried to share case histories, secret police came in and arrested the doctor

clamped down on sharing of information, suppressed it, delayed medical response

police tried to sweep it under the carpet

not gonna get healing unless with get truth sharing

china, truth is what the party says

whole thing began to spiral out of control

documentary on youtube

1000s of cases started coming, people just lying down on the street to die

filmed, like in a plague, whole city, size of San Francisco had to go into lock down, sealing doors, curfew, hospitals staff going crazy, full of patients, no treatment for it

documentary is scary everybody walking around with masks, people in white suits picking bodies off the street

that’s happening now as we speak

historical place of taoism, wisdom traditions for centuries

what caused it, it looks like, scientists haven’t agreed on this

australian team, isolated the virsus, done gene sequencing, looks like a virus that came from bats, it can’t come into humans, it came through a medium, another mammal, theory goes, meat market, somebody handled infected animal

what’s weird, virus is combination of two things, bat virus but spliced with something like the hiv virus, replicating faster than normal virus

man made, 900 meters from meat factor, research with other colleagues, someone in bio lab, selling off old meat, man made weapon, a biovirus, leaked into human species, now going all around the planet, find that shocking beyond words

the chinese scientists have to come clean about this, have to own up, sorry we made this thing, have to get together with scientists in the states

however this is the crunch time for humanity, if we don’t do the truth sharing, if they deny it

other theory this is just a random mutation, statistics of that are millions against that

no its artificially created, trouble is, society there’s a truth scarcity, we’re not getting the facts

live in total fear, that’s the kind of symbol of where we’re at as a planet

symbolism of these masks, afraid to touch each other, complete opposite, of sharing, loving, compassionate togetherness of truth

through truth

TP: peace with nature? Learn hard lessons, silver lining

TD: there should be such a huge revulsion against military industrial complex, this might be the catalyst for huge change in china, secrecy of communist state, ruling the people with iron fist, not allowing information to circulate, if it turns out they actually made it, cause for change in china

might be silver lining, there are brave people speaking out

story of how it came it be has been smuggled out of china

send compassion to all the people who are suffering

truth auditing of our own lives

of our relationships, are we with the right person, do we share truth with them

not contributing to that fog of lies

want to share a teaching, doing a commentary on a buddhist scripture, buddhist tantra was my open to all this in my early 20s, studying at university of bristol

quote from early scripture, translation, core biblical equivelant:

path to dharma, the essence of truth

basic truth of buddhas noble truth, our thoughts our mentation, arise out of impure thought, greed, who’s ever inventing weapons like this, they must be demented, horrible weapons

not it’s information warfare, each state invested in internet hacking against other countries, impure mind, if we go on doing that, suffering follows

that’s the bad news

we know that in our own lives, difficult relationships, whole of life takes on tone of suffering and pain, don’t want to go to work

we need to start to act and think and speak with pure mind, and then joy will follow us, as our own shadow

I would say to all the people who work in the defense industries, oligarchs, spin doctors, those are the demonic forces we’re up against, the only way to turn this planet around, is to apply the tantra of pure mind, that’s what I’ve been working on for the last few months

musing on how we can do that

I’ve just published a book, encyclopedia of druid studies, going back to paleolithic time, magical systems called druidry, handed down orally just like tantric tradition

3 volumes 11,000 pages, years of work

druidry and hinduism, kabbalah, tantra

latest research by academics and practitioners

William Jones, welsh scholar, went to Calcutta 1780s, head of legal service in Bengal, learned sanskrit, realized it was similar to welsh, latin, greek, persian, coined the term indo european

realized we’re all the same people

it’s been a secret oral tradition, the other thing that interested me, they were the peace makers of the tribes, when wars broke out they would try to mediate,

the magi, what I’ve been thinking about, what we need is a new branch of magic, which I’m calling peace magic right, all kinds of books on magic, different occult things, we need to apply all that to peace work

a book on peace magic, a lot of tantric type meditations, visualizations, drawing on that work, we need to get a whole new generation of people actually practicing, their own magical potential for peace, dedicating that energy to peace work,

that is the resistance of our time, against forces that seek to separate us

TP: describe a working?

TD: first book, 50 different practices, dealing with different aspects of reality, section on energy of animals, shamanistic way, earth elements, section on time, the magic of time, how you can work with that, sections on relationships, love sexuality, how you can activate through sexual experience

each one has got a key thought, an image to work with, an actual exercise, you can do with yourself alone, or with a consort, it varies on what the different practices are,

banishing ritual on nuclear weapons, drawing on black magic in a creative and loving way, heavy invocations

black magic in a technical way, egypt, people of the eye is black, black is a very holy color, black magic was the land of egypt

talking of alchemy, the founder of alchemy, egyptian lived 200ad, panopolis, south of cairo, holy city, studied all kinds of esoteric stuff, he put all this stuff together, invented alchemy, the black arts of egypt, wrote a book on the meaning of the alphabet, sounds, the mantric sound, the guru gives the initiate, absorb self into sound current, go into the sound current of the cosmos, these sounds come from the gods, we’re spoken into being by the sounds of gods

if we can purify our minds, we can purify this world

fallen into a dark dream, alpha conquest, all they care about is there ego, not their power over their own shadow their own darkness

TP: ecological romance,

TD: forest, fruit trees, france, people live very simply, little villages, hamlets since the 12th century, slow easy pace of life, I love rural france, still got that old magic, full of mystery hear

let me tell you a bit about what I’m doing in delhi, conference organized by jain community, advocate non violence, gathering of all different faith, hindus, leading educators in non-violence, a guy who runs a sustainability lab, people from russia

I was an academic coordinators, quite a high powered conference, tragedy going on, jain part of delhi, yet a few miles away protest, riots, asked what’s going on, learned that this is all to do with the indian government, citizen amendment bill, anyone living next to india, border lands, if they want to apply to live in india, they can as refugees, hindu nationalist ideas, india for hindus instead of mother land of all faiths

muslims protesting, making them not feel welcome in india, in india very advanced sufi traditions, muslim scholars who took zero from india, made possible all the maths that they use, fusion between indian hindu and buddhist ideas, sufi spirituality, singing

this narrow minded faction in parliament, anti-muslim law, 200 million muslims in india, started rioting in the streets, since I left that was a few weeks ago, it’s got much much much worse, running street battles, people being killed, hindu and Muslim mobs looking to kill

amazing, next generation, doing brilliantly, issued a declaration calling on youth, because it’s young people roaming around in mobs, they don’t know apart from violence, issued declaration, calling on young people to basically not inherit the conflicts of the former generations, hate, goes on and on and on, like this in ireland, it’s time for this youth to say enough, I don’t want want your karma anymore, I’m a planetary citizen, trying to elevate that violent energy into the wisdom

TP: post national, digital citizen ship

TD: citizen of the cosmos, nation, where you’re born, comes from latin, that’s just where you happen to be born, I’m a Canadian if you want, earth citizen

rebirth process, have to elevate our identity to a higher level, grow up, not quit with you on the planet may go down, earth custodian, go this planet for another hundred million years, this planet can remain as an incarnational field for human life experiences, it will become too hot, life wont be sustainable

if we want, we’ve got it for a hundred million years, gives us enough time to solve our problems

druid gave torch of liberty to america, loved the american dream we want you to live up to it

we believe in that torch of liberty, each generation has to re-light it, not give in to dystopian negativity, drugged up, to disempower us

intellecting

TP: magical offering

TD: nature is the great alchemist, doing the work all the time, that’s why buddha sat under a tree to reach enlightenment

final bardic offering

Love Poetry as Practice Meditation for the Moment of Death TPP248

Play

In this episode I share a poem I wrote which serves as preparatory meditation for the moment of death

Notion of preparing oneself to have an intentional thought form intentional desire at the moment that you transition to another form, at the point of death

if that is an acute moment, if it is a circumstance where you have the foresight to boot up a vision a meditation and run that, there’s supposed to be, some mystics say, that’s what’s going to determine where you go, if you come back, how you come back, all of that kind of stuff

how could it do any harm to have some practice in that arena, you could put yourself into extreme circumstances and actually simulate, jump into freezing lakes, give yourself a near death experience and practice your transitional meditation, I’m not promoting or endorsing

if you’re not going through the life review, maybe you’ll get an imagine in edgewise, or get to focus on or pause or something

I’d have to dig into the topic of actual near death experiences, versus perceived, the fear of your life being taken, versus seeing the light, going through the tunnel

I don’t think I’ve had a going through the tunnel experience myself, I’ve gone through physiological states of shock, lots going on there

the west is far behind on death studies, no reason to be morbid, just doing a lottery of what’s on my spreadsheet to share, daily content, daily podcasting, short sweet, little riffs I’ve captured in notepads over the years, worth storing for myself and now sharing

as an invitation to you the listener, if you could chose the final memory that you meditate on before you transition to a state where you want to get to access these memories anymore

if you were expecting to be passing over, passing through is there a time a place a moment that was so filled with grace, so filled with beauty that you’d wan to anchor in to that feeling, that would be the quality of spirit, for the life you had, what would that be, maybe write it down

I woke up in the middle of the night and wrote this as a love poem, shared it with the personal involved, charming endearing, depicts a moment you’d like to carry with you into eternity

could interpret in emo goth way

people spend a lot of time making horror movies in imagination about death

for me, ongoing until this moment is upstaged by a different moment, if I’m fearing death, if I’m being killed, if I’m dying I’ll want to remember this moment

Tiny Bamboo Hut Love

i remember the feeling of timeless cosmic perfection that was ambient as we embraced under the moon lit gaps in the roof of my tiny bamboo hut. turning my head to see her shadowy profile, i sipped the pristine dark beauty of her smile with my eyes, and with silent excitement i studied the statuesque shape of her ear and thought to myself she could have been the buddhas mother, the ancient serenity of pure natural love made me wish to stay in this state of sensual “beditation” forever. for the first and only time i could imagine what it would be like to be an immortalized ascended being, floating in the ether, gazing into the stars, singing sacred verses and chants learned ages ago from many past embodied lifetimes in primitive and advanced cultures from distant planets. together with my beloved consort, freed from the limits of the flesh, but granted the boon of everlasting access to the quantum impression left by one of our most blessed earthly moments. the mystics say you will be seduced by demons who control the gates of the bardo with fears, doubts, and distractions at the moment of death, but if you can hold in your heart and your mind’s eye, a vision of pure loving transcendence, then they by divine law the demons, your demons, will be forced to drop their swords, kneel and bow to you as you transcend the cycle of samsara and earn your place among the gods. don’t wait to your last day on earth to build your transcendent visionary meditation, hold the vision everyday they say. and i say, my ticket to fly high into the divine realms, is the memory of that moment, beholding her with all of my kind attention and adoration, under the moon lit gaps in the roof of my tiny bamboo hut, nestled into a garden, a garden nestled into a concrete jungle, a concrete jungle nestled into a coastline, a coastline nestled into a continent, a continent nestled into an ocean, an ocean nestled into a planet, a planet nestled into a solar system, a solar system nestled into a galaxy, a galaxy nestled into a yoniverse, a yoniverse nestled into our love, our love nestled into a magic shroom trip

My Non Verbatim Notes:

VS: training in Colorado, graduating in may with resilient leadership program, focus on sustainability and social justice, great program, what are we gonna do with this kind of knowledge

interesting experience, expanded so much in ways, politically, climate crisis

download this morning: earth tells us how strong it is by showing us

we can damage, be so cruel with capitalistic ways, but mother earth is resilient

shamanic training, working with plant medicines

tarot reading, spiritual and intellectual, recommended naropa, eastern/western philosophy, perfect for someone who’s a seeker, however a lot of charlatans there

some professors spiritual leaders, major issues with…middle aged white men still stuck in the patriarchy

no longer this hierarchy, all about me, bow down to me and I take all the power, future of leadership, switch from hierarchy to more egalitarian, we’re all equal

taking away guru, bow down to me paradox, scarcity mindset

I have to be willing to accept when I need people who are more powerful than me

age of aquarius, take away old paradox of capitalism and hierarchy, one person on top

abusive treatment from spiritual leaders

Naropa’s in Boulder, spiritual hub, growing business, spiritual businesses, people are capitalizing on it, most of the people are fake, heartbreaking to see cultish behavior, the more followers a person has, the more manipulation

people called out yoga teacher on her healing that needs to happen, she went bezerk

if you’re on a leadership platform of any level, you should be ok to be called out, no body’s perfect

if you say I’m a healer, I’ve healed everything you’re a liar

witness middle aged white professors, spiritual leaders

ego thing

TP: professors should get paid on a curve, based on votes from students to balance the power

VS: students, pests, total followers, have no sense of self

spiritual jabs

you don’t throw jabs at students

you’re not coming from a kind place, so shut the fuck up

TP: can draw upon traditions of sadistic initiation and humiliation

the fuckery of Tibetan Buddhist, secret sex cult, academic analysis of distortion of men being in monastic chastity, creepy manipulators, collusion, hexes, spells, death threats

VS: last thing you want to do is be manipulating people by throwing spiritual jabs, because those cuts hurt deeper

plant ceremony circles, cultish mentality, manipulation, shaming everyone that comes there

are you actually doing the work, shows you really have so much work you need to tend to

forget you

TP: need to be roasted more often not less often if you have power

enlightenment, be kind and not criticize everything

Deepak Chopra, non-judgment

mind hacks, positive/constructive inner voice redirection

VS:

shambala center scandals, male dominated institutionalized sectors, zen buddhism, so male dominated

sexual tension is real, things are going down in an ill way

really sad

woman of color, not many at all in the spiritual industry in America, so much of what has arose has come from indigenous cultures even African indigenous cultures, raped, stolen

TP: sages, saints, prophets, messiahs, too much to ask of pantheon of god men, why isn’t there an exalted female voice representing the divine goddess or earthly embodiment

collective messiah, sisterhood witch coven, actually has each other’s backs, hard to find, not about most money, biggest boobs, clearest skin, politics are distorted, only thing I’ve seen work is magic mushrooms, tone down that ego

collective of empowered righteous medicine women, collectively channel a bigger voice

VS: we’re not sustainable, that paradigm is no longer sustainable, not balanced

Egypt: ancients believed when a man achieved a high amount of knowledge spiritual and power, he would be allowed to wear a long haired wig to symbolize that he had reached a certain level of that equal to a woman

behind every successful man is a strong woman holding him up, keeping him balanced, bringing him peace

recognizing each other’s strengths

look at all these buildings, not sustainable

machismo, misogynistic mentality, disrespecting yourself

you’re describing the woman in the house that I’m initiating into

not getting vibe of competitive, ego, money power, real sisterhood, shocked right now

TP: not an economy of male attention, have each other’s back, like links of armor together

VS: there was one guy that they where gonna bring in to initiate into our house, mother of the house started asking for dreams, said she had dreams that were very revealing about him, how he was betraying and backstabbing, the way the sister’s joined it was unbelievable, if anyone messes with any one of us, we’re all gonna have each others back

TP: dream of goddess temple , powerful men, bow down to fem domme’s

VS: that’s what we need, systems are so broken, education, judicial, health, how can we bring in more divine masculine, and divine feminine, lacking, how can we merge spirituality with these systems for greater collective awaking

TP: divine feminine is coming through no matter what, divine masculine, it’s gonna be a struggle, to topple the demonic overlords, if you could push a button to dissolve homophobia, divine masculine would fill hearts of all men on earth

men want to play with witches, gotta give each other coconut oil massage first

VS: amazing people, transgendered, no how to bring in both, balanced, gurus, two spirited, amazing human beings, kind, empathetic, understanding things differently

TP: tantric alchemy, triangle, masculine feminine bottom corners, ascension of kundalini, meet and become one at the top

VS: back in 2017, working at crystal shop in venice, beach, santoria woman comes in calls me out, you’re haitian, already reclaimed you, just haven’t initiated you yet, I was doing my own spiritual thing, predicted I would be working with plants

when joined program, friend invited me to a cacao ceremony, I’m thinking I’m gonna do chocolate, heard it opens heart, makes more loving, there’s a fire pit, middle of night, circle, passing around green powered, why is this green, whatever, dark paste to put on gums, must be cacao, intense vulnerable experience, beautiful

wasn’t cacao, that was coca, in concentrate form, door way led into whole path with medicines, microdosing with magic mushrooms, ayahuasca, universe is smart, had I known it was coca I would have been like no I’m not doing that

TP: decriminalization nature movement, entheogens decriminalized in Santa Cruz,

dance with haitian priestesses, throughout development, haitian shamanic revolution, invocation, deities, ancestors, spiritual revolution, not marx, not communism, party line, indigenous, totally

VS: all this stigma about what voodoo is, that is how they won the revolution in 1804 no other black free nation until 150 years later, cecile fatiman, pig ceremony started the revolution, shamanism, paganism, trance like states

what led me to this path, haitian priestess voodoo initiation, getting into plants, connecting with ayahuasca, beautiful experience for shipibo, saw me, called to that medicine, wanna find who I’m gonna learn from

got back from jungle, grandmother, what are you doing in the jungle taking medicine, pagaism, witchcraft, when that happens, when you’re called its not you, you’d not choose voodoo, voodoo chooses you

TP: you do you and voo doo you

VS: lineage is calling you, ancestors wanted you to leave California to get you some where calm and quiet so they could start tapping in, all these dots started connecting

researching portals, deities, very powerful, not spirits you want to take lightly, have a lot of sincerity, they can get upset if you disrespect them, I’m learning a lot

mother of house did a reading, can’t just pay to be a high priestess, spirit needs to confirm initiation, its not for everybody

born into hatiain lineage

grew up with mallato family, strong french presence, history of haiti, didn’t allow voodoo, combinations of saints because they were not allowed, raised catholic, all about white is right, american dream

In this episode I’m joined by Devika the Techy Tanktrika (devika-singh.com) and Sagrada, for a commentary on the movie the Golden Child which was a favorite movie of mine growing up and is a masterpiece of tantric sexual-spiritual education.

We share our common interests in the themes of the film and share thoughts as it rolls in the background on the significance of each scene as it relates to our life experience in tantra and beyond.

Com and our journey together will begin hello dear beloved’s welcome to Township Punk podcast episode number so yeah it’s going to be around table Extravaganza with this Golden Child movie which is so near and dear to my childhood in which took me like 35 years to decode and now I realize everything everything I’ve ever cared to know about Tantra I learned all ready for my age of eight by Eddie Murphy so go figure you got between Eddie Murphy and and Barney the purple dinosaur you know you heard about that right amazing Barney the purple dinosaur yeah he’s that he’s a tantric sex healing master and you need provides a full-service tantric sex work for women who can afford the the billina and I guess yeah he’s just like he’s got Prana just to spare you know so I can check them out on Twitter to that’s how I that’s how I tracked him down sweet. One of these days we got ya at him and Eddie Murphy anytime you’re welcome on the township of podcasts do this tell us all about how it’s done cool so yeah then so we all at this point I’ve watched this movie probably a hundred times and you all have watched it probably one time each and I introduce it to you for devika because this is kind of like your stick is the the tantric Buddhism and the everything I started to learn from you and that was new to me about Tantra that was very much foodist into nature it would just match up to a lot of the symbolism and mythology and storyline of The Golden Child So before we get started with this this experimental commentary we’re just going to play it in the background and just react to it as it goes along it will will let people know where to queue it up from and make sure we’re all on the base of the same starting point but but before we do that would be great just to have a few thoughts of yours that we could just serve your kind of initial debrief analysis thought stream that comes from really having probably a lot more of a sense of what’s going on then the most people in Innisfil oh for sure you know I am looking at it and I’m Amazed by the accuracy of certain things in the sense that this was before the internet has access to your specialty Buddhist communities in this case but what I found particularly interesting is that I know I sent you this documentary called the on the steak and child and was created in 2008 and there was there was a lot of overlap in the sense because in The Golden Child we see this child but you know is said to be the sacred leader from you know prior life and the whole and I mean I don’t get too much into that part because we’ll see it anyways the beginning of the movie but this whole concept of finding this child because it’s important to their word to their community and there’s there’s so much historical in the bite behind that and I just found it amazing that they chose that seem to go along with in this movie I would love to know more about what inspired that this might be because there’s even like a you know we’ll see parts of the beginning where I’m just like yeah okay they they know what’s up they they have a pretty good understanding of the selection process wedding you know possible children who could be these leaders if they’re looking for so that’s pretty amazing and you know it at the same time this movie is also a testament to its time in the sense that it really is you know there are still a couple things that you know we wouldn’t I think this early due today would probably try to do better but I was still quite impressed by that and some of the relics what I saw in the shower I’m so yeah I’m really glad that you brought this phone to my attention bed awesome yeah it’s been accepted by I’ve been dreaming about for a long time cuz I somebody somebody besides me has got to enjoy this as much as I do and I feel like I haven’t found the found that tribe people that can see it from both both perspectives and you know the quick Point I’ve done a little bit of research into the origins of the just reading the Wikipedia and there’s also I’m going to digest the the the magic some notes on the Oliver Harper retrospective commentary where he did a review of the film and he brought up a lot of obscure film sack toys and things about it but but it is interesting to note that it was yeah it was originally intended to be a very serious kind of Adventure Thriller experience and then it’s I think somewhere relatively close to the last minute of getting close to production they just flipped the script Eddie Murphy came in and they decided to make it this way more tongue and cheek experience which totally works and it’s it’s just like so magical I just know when a movie has magic and when it just doesn’t and this just has it and it would not compute but it’s so after I think for westerners to have an entry point of the skepticism of anything mystical and then ething anything of that nature and so he gives you that sort of comic relief of how to approach this from as an American you know and American hero archetype to he’s like the wolf will go into it as we go along but but I will save us all feel free to to somewhat somewhat gracefully interrupt each other if there’s like an Uber we got to make a point about what’s going on cuz we can come in and get off them to the Weeds about about just exploring different aspects but if something comes up on the screen you don’t feel free to just like blurt it out and hopefully we won’t need deposit or back up or anything that could get confusing but I will just go along and and and do like the great says that the other commentators I really like that our form so so yeah without further Ado let’s see if we can kind of get a little bit synced up here so how about let’s try to get it to Missy we’re going at we’re at the point where it’s going to give the like Studio logo mountain range thing in like see see what happens like right after that way we can get pitch like the first title or something like that so so we’ll just let me try to keep it up after the Paramount sign or exactly what is like the first thing that happens right after and then we’ll start there so there’s a balance to the very very beginning of a so alright so we’re at the same point was just let it roll and then by all means tell us what we need to see you read between the lines I I certainly can’t a lot of stuff I wouldn’t pick up on so yeah translate what’s happening hey so it’s definitely taking place in a monastery them suspecting there intending a trailer to be into batter even the Paula because a lot of Tibetans did end up the fun facts or interesting fact rather there is a lot of Tibetan Monks in Nepal can you kill the audio on that sorry we’re going to just okay as you’re saying so much see her The Golden Child is actually a girl to I know that really yeah that is so cool because a lot of the times when we’re looking at actual Encounters of people looking for a previous leaders that usually layer usually looking for boys like I mean not explicitly stated but a lot of the children who have been found in these lineages are boys so that’s that’s pretty cool Russian Tea actually there is an ambiguity They Don’t Really emphasize whether the child has you know what whatever their gender is or non-gender so I think that maybe early makes this ahead of its time so she would give me information you have been sorry earthquake in Nepal a few years ago and they had in mythology that that there was a basically there was a goddess Temple that was spared and there was it a female child of devotion who was in that building and they kind of reaffirm their prophecy that that don’t don’t mess with the goddess Temple or you’ll get the rest you know is like a people were able to read into it what so we just saw some offerings be made and this is her actual Nala from a previous life and it’s really interesting how they did that cuz they gave them and they gave her those three to choose from and she knew which one was hers when she was knowing what that luggage was exactly having some sort of amnesia all right and then we’re going to see the power to restore life which is foreshadowing but we won’t spoil spoil it now she’s picking implements that there’s another process they think what they do they really cool before CGI really was a thing so they’re using real person just amazing to me so here goes the beginning of this raid and you never I guess if you knew more about the the the costuming that you might get some clues about where exactly they’re supposed to be from there or if they’re just like a ragtag band of goons working for the dark Lords of the Underworld did you have any sense of if they were representing some I mean like in Indiana Jones Temple of Doom they actually were explicit about that it was the thuggee cult that they were trying to represent what shall we say it in but there’s no real ID you seem like a good dark spiritual gangsters or something actually seen this sorrow costuming another Buddhist related media as well and I mean I see it I think of Siberian tribes but + communities but I’m very clearly there’s there’s obviously utility in having those typos wardrobe in cold areas right I just reminds me so much of a Game of Thrones character I was going to ask what what statue is behind can we see what statue is behind the child or is it just a question but I think you’re right like I was only imagine what they would have put me in tibetan Buddha but I honestly I can’t see it right now. Thing not to throw any any Asha monoculture under the bus but I know there is some extremely like Twisted Black time for coats out of there but it’s also the place that the word Shamanism comes from so it’s not all there is a lot of Tibetan black magic to there’s one Buddha who actually started off in tibetan black magic and his is a very long story will get into but eventually renounces it and goes on to the Buddhist no path and that’s basically his whole story this whole Jam so yeah there are there is there I mean in any for every lineage there’s always going to be you know a left pop right path dark path you know like there’s obviously always great Pops to right but yeah you’re going to get a variety of different paths with any any spiritual lineage really we we passed it a little bit but was there any significance to the cage are the reason why they needed to basically come like some from Destin yes I just like I would look like one of those Claws from Anarchy okay yeah I don’t know what to say about this what’s happening here it’s the pretty much exactly hey I’m all for the chunky asses I’m okay with this Ray why does he have to be ashamed of it he should be like seeing and dancing and worshipping the chunky asses as they walked by it’s so sad actually kind of seeing him just kind of being like okay I want to go now or you know so what we were referring to is this Montage that’s happening of American looks like l a Hollywood mostly and Eddie Murphy’s walking down the street putting up posters for a missing child who he’s he’s basically like somewhere in between I don’t think he actually is the cop maybe he’s an ex-cop but he’s like a private detective / Bounty Hunter / they caught ya like he puts Outpost reward for missing children so he’s some kind of like benevolent charitable Bounty Hunter kind of thing for lost children and they never really get into why that’s his thing but he’s definitely just plays the part very well as like a man on a mission and but he was at a newsstand and he finds a guy reading a porno magazine anybody makes fun of them in the car runs away and yeah he’s just reacting to everything going on and then we get to a point that I always I always drive to not be that guy but I know that I am so much like they make this I’m talking about right the host of the show who talks too much you are never liked that bad because that’s why I like doing your podcast like you know if you invite me I’m always grateful because I think you know if we always have good exchange mint got all three of us are here too because we’re not let you know I agree I think I mean you definitely let people finish what they’re saying then at least she let the message get across we can hold it for a sign you’re not the only the mic but this guy here I kind of like I kind of remember when there is like shows like this really everybody has 5 Seconds daytime kind of cable access that was the him being on a TV like daytime look like maybe cable access talk show talking about the missing child and giving you some background details and then it’s cutting to this gorgeous Tibetan scholar women who just is holding down her Shakti so hard and just stands out as a character that you would almost never see her stoicism but her sort of Mastery and self-mastery and discipline in her disgust with everything sloppy about the West is so spoken to wish I were a boy find interesting because this actress she’s actually Irish and Colombian and in herself I was like she’s doing really well with the part but I mean if it was today we have a lot of variety I feel it would be hit a little more home to the nationality I would think of all the record I think she did a great job with this everything you just said yes and I will say that that if I were to whatever part of my my time Trek Adventure in life has been has been asserted from the groove been carved by Eddie Murphy than this woman has appeared in my life in the form of three different people and you’re one of them but basically like her entire character has been like split into three of my real life movie characters so I give you I bow down to you for bringing bring a part of that that Juju and save us both for your wonderful Journeys thank you both for sharing through you know mediums like this thank you yes I did now we get into their she finds him she believes he’s the finder of the Sacred finder of lost children that the chosen one and he said Urban Dynamic with the kids playing basketball with and he thinks she’s crazy because she’s telling him he’s the chosen one he needs to go to bed to rescue a child thinks he’s smoking Scrolls or he thinks she’s smoking skulls and plays with her scroll that is like the prophecy and heroes it up like a joint and makes fun of her for having smoked it and says Topps rookie scrub yeah I don’t know maybe Hollywood at this time felt like Eddie Murphy was going to bring this to the you know the Blockbuster and it’s interesting you know the way Americans will bring up other cultures you know but also prioritize maybe things that we care about our culture it’s just interesting the cultural play but I guess they couldn’t be one story without the other apps maybe in the trees and maybe even to this day it doesn’t even happen where you know cultures are appreciated for what they are not made fun of you know and juxtaposition but yeah I seen this though happened in the 80s you know I wouldn’t have thought that there would be a movie like this at all I know it’s really a great movie that I ended up enjoying it a lot and I do think Eddie Murphy yeah I can imagine it without him it just it is so magical he just I think about the movies that that you can just feel it it’s a it’s a pass no pass on the magic test for for all films I thinking and this one it just Mi hours it’s kind of like a lost boys to say comedy and horror and vampire and she saw work but so this is now we’re going to see some fast and stuff so they are investigating this crime scene he was tipped off that these that there was a young woman he was looking for The Runaway teenager kind of got into the underworld is found having been used as a blood sacrifice to pollute to try to see the The Golden Child polluted blood and they’re in this occult looks like a squad of a scooter renting this kind of disheveled house and turned it into a Black Magic Ritual complex where they’re putting looks like Sanskrit spells in the walls and and very very creepy very very heavy vibes yeah it’s like black country graffiti it’s so funny because I mean you know even you know what the oatmeal hell this stuff will look at it and be like there’s something very visceral to me about it yeah I agree that’s it to me to the oatmeal really gross me I did look corny in a little bit and then you don’t want to explain a little bit later that it’s to put basically poison the child I thought it was specifically there has to be this writing has to surround the child and then they have to like ingest things and that’s how you diminish the prices vary it just seems like it came from probably inaccurate source of whatever this this tradition is or this yeah yeah I totally I know I was really sitting there thinking to myself well what where was the black what source material were they Consulting with because it is I think it’s creepy because I feel like there’s some accuracy you know to to what might have been written or passed down through oral lineages or you know something like that when it comes to black tan talking about somebody somebody with a real scholar that they must have consulted with in a probably a lot to interview them at some point someday if I would get to this podcast to the point where I have the ability to maybe not Joe Rogan status but a piece to the point where I can talk to people who has agents and things and a lot of these writers they’re pretty obscure it’s not like they’re going to be need to get to a million assistance to find them in all of these writers were just in The Hired Guns and Things so would love to get them on here but this is a great seeing where he’s really now having to Grapple with the occult and the skepticism of the otherworldly demonology that she’s bring to him very seriously so he’s just making sure that we’ve been through this deadpan but he has to just block everything that she’s saying and she has to just kind of like roll with the punches and hang in there did any of you like watch this and think of Donkey from Shrek sometimes like you need documents I look at it and think of his role as donkey and every movie okay so no she’s got him semi on board at least to make a few meetings visit some people to try to try to win him over that he’s the gold that he’s the the chosen one and the golden child must be rescued by hand The Chosen One according to scripture to help she wants to introduce him to some some folks some authentic folks who are going to help him get the picture and and so they’re going to this like a herbal store like a Medicine Shoppe and he’s going to meet this half dragon half human lady who was who’s very erotic and very very interesting absolutely said I love her but her story makes me a little sad though I do a little bit later I don’t want to I don’t want to lose the moment they have a quite a mix of different esoteric parts of different cultures so this is Chinese folklore there’s a combination happening here because there’s a lot of overlap right so with another guy you’re going to find them in South Asia so they can be especially in Nepal Tibet there is talk of them in China and also in Thailand and I believe in Bali as well we see variations of the lure of the Naga people which usually it’s interesting you’ll find good and bad right with naga in this case it sounds like the Naga they’re referring to our not-so-nice especially when we talked about the ancestry and how her lineage became part Naga because her was her grandmother that was raped by a dragon I think is part of the story so yeah so you know there are there is a lot of folklore about the not being good and then in Buddhism we do come across a lot of still some really interesting stuff weather connected to wisdom and wisdom bearing there’s a very well-known Naga Faker call Naga Kanya and she is an enlightened being who is a wizard bear but there is a lot of folklore just as equally about dog of people being you know the offense not behaving like a wisdom bear necessarily like they’re angry so they’re definitely walking through Chinatown right now so that was probably just within the range like you said if the overlap of different people mess up together representing all the different coaches there I think we missed a funny line where was looking at one of the preparations and he asked what it is and he says something you know he just died I’m not going to butcher that the word he says what he says good herb is good to keep the Yang up and he goes nothing wrong with my yang totally app for anyone who is doing erectile dysfunction herbal preparations for Tantra you know therapist and counselors you know this dick is Eddie Murphy dick joke about cheese in the middle movie so odd to me because there’s a lot of pain medicine that does deal with erectile dysfunction in a sexual performance talking about just this aspect of you know we can look at cultures up to a certain extent it after that they’re kind of their to me you know not comprehended but rather sometimes people just make fun of them I was just having a talk with somebody on this week this weekend about it about that but the sad fact is up to what extent do we the society allow cultures to really know provide what they have to offer you know especially religious practices so there’s a lot we still want to see happen with that right but I digress but I mean yes we we do have a long way to go I think still was true acceptance and understanding and curiosity I think that’s the major part all right so we’re catching up on a few things thank you yet for for sharing that and kitchen history he was he left that place and then he tried to invite her up to his place and it failed like it landed he landed on his ass with that it’s him and and she was very cold cold blooded when he asked again if she said no twice and then he pulled this act of trying to act like he was possessed by the spirits to tell her that you should go up there so it’s definitely like it’s sad because that’s like quintessentially what all of the country trucker earape artist guys do is like oh I am the spirit I’m the Divine Shiva and I’m channeling you know your instructions to there’s guys she will charge women thousands of dollars for their blowjob Enlightenment courses and so that’s like where that all starts but appreciate you know she’s like she’s really better boundaries we love to happen but it didn’t in the movie I was expecting that cuz I don’t know you know Ben we’ll get there we’ll definitely get there like the though they don’t be a I love to see that the XXX version but but that happens it happens in his dream though it’s funny he has that will get there but so now they’re there at this 441 some of these these black magic gun guys are basically they’re tuned in to what’s going on in there will do they have like a hideout now in La where they’ve taken a child to the US and now they’re doing this desecrated geometry later they could just hang out where they’ve set up multiple meditators who have this sort of triangulation of energy to basically block out his ability to astral project so he had he or she he or she that The Golden Child the golden kid is able to see and understand also telekinetic so meditating and praying to knock over that bullet blood being like that’s a nice look they got an expression yeah give me a break you’re not going to poison me I’m smarter than all you guys and waiting for one of them to fall asleep just stirring do all this the CIA black-ops MacGyver stuff and then also eating this sacred Leaf that’s nourishing and must based on some scriptures about how you could be meditating forever and only subsist off of like pot leaves and things so like the sunlight but are the the other and then a little bit of vegetation right just just to sustain oneself no one of the evil meditators fell asleep on the job and then like the CL is broken and now the opportunity to astral project and to commune with Eddie Murphy the chosen one is going to create this difficulty for him to to shake the mysticism off and so the the glowing orb emerges and he can see the what do you thinks is maybe a dream but he basically was stirred up to go and see this I think very good effects for the time for sure it’s a see you in the astral projection and I will tell you that there was a time when not to get too personal but I had the same exact experience of you appearing to me and the middle of the night as an apparition and within seconds I got a text message I got a message from you on Facebook and it was experience that’s so cool naturally you know that. Your sis. Power start to arrive to help stabilize that energy so it’s pretty much a magical thing is pretty amazing and so I have this part in my book about you know how to really heal yourself from what you thought maybe of you know how house Gary masculine energy might be some time I’m sure there are practices that really going to that and yeah that’s really a good part of my work you because oh man I mean we are in need of some major balance here on this planet and in this life in this world I so I really feel the more that we can Embrace anybody and I’m leaning to the feminine that is rising right now the more we can scan with that the more that we can make space for on the masculine to heal and balance and I want to say like rice but like because it has risen it in excess right but balance in such a way that it kind of comes down to meet the feminine so that this beautiful kind of dance can emerge in more Harmony and that would just make such a huge total impact and he just within the body the container of one individual body being able to fuse and merge those energies is so powerful yeah I’m really glad you what I do awesome guy and I can say from experience from the first couple of experiences and session work that I experienced with you then I really got I was able to feel the force you know that if we’re going to be using that Jedi archetype you know and in there if you want to call Kundalini Shakti goddess energy which is I love calling I love I love hearing of Kundalini as a salmon in force and you were the one who activated that for me and it was just very Seadrill yeah I remember like it was yesterday and so I appreciate it getting you you can get really philosophical and really theoretical but grounding everything into practices to make it as a workbook almost it sounds like this is amazing so you and it’s something that has to be felt in the body to really know what it is yeah it’s hard it’s hard to find words nothing will thank you for all that great work do you feel kind of complete as in that in this kind of brief introduction but but pretty I think it’s a pretty good overview I definitely thrilled to to go deeper with it and others will be as well so I wanted to give the bulk of this episode to this important news of promoting and getting the word out about the book and then but also address questions that I’ve had as a sort of I’ve become a sort of meta Godparent to a lot of different mothers who were rebranding as independent mothers who are in various stages of Court battles with baby daddies for custody and for child support and and I’ve just checking on this sort of I decided I’m not going to reproduce biologically all of my vasectomy but I will reproduce culturally by my being short playing that that more of a Shimano roll in peace and also keeping a little bit of distance from that that this is a an ancient sword of time tree thing of if you are not to be the guru per se but to be an Adept you may have to disengage from householding because there’s just so much mundane kind of learning and things you got to sit through so your country path is always going to be kind of a balancing act between how much of a household are you going to be and what roles are going to have within a community and then how far out you get to go on your own into your mystical practices so I have taken that past of offsetting my my familial obligations a bit so that I could study things from afar and then just go to be this force of will hopefully an Angelic sort of force supporting women who are in different degrees of Crisis that’s just a little bit of a of a context for why it’s important for me now to reconnect with you in a n n learn from you and share your teachings about Tantra parenting the pattern that has been emerging in the question is being asked of me and the view is is how does a woman who has just recently given birth and going through all these different chemical changes and hormonal changes how do you what’s the advice on keeping that spark of love and attraction alive with the baby daddy partner what are some some tricks and tips that you would recommend for for that really critical bonding you know six segments of Life first of all I’m not going to lie. I think the first thing to do is I mean really too kind of except that it’s not going to be the same but. It’s actually you know like I said with you know what having kids how you’re able to look at the things that really matter to you that was so when you actually are with your partner and you have those moments you know they might be less but we are going to be amazing because you are fully present and you’re showing up each moment you know and the end of a lot of for me it’s like when I first became a mom so I had my first son and it was really hard I was just like what cuz I was Dino stole so focused on your child and really wanted to be there to nurture that I and you are you know you’re you’re so deep into it into motherhood and it’s so new everything is so new and exciting and exhausting but I am in a few months I was just like oh my gosh like how how does this work how do we make this work and it was really really difficult very difficult but I found that by you know because I’ve had my kids almost 8 years now until I found that really what we eat sometimes you know if if we need to say like make an appointment with each other and that’s what we have to do if we have to put it on the calendar they okay these are the the two or the three days a week that were scheduling for ourselves for intimacy for connection then that’s we’re going to do that first there was a struggle because my husband’s like okay this isn’t sexy yo after he got over that initial thing it was like okay like we can do this we can make time for this we can we can be intentional about it for us really had to do that because not only was it you know hard navigating with kids now but also the work you know work in the balance of that it was just really tough so that was one of the things that we did the other thing that I want to say is that sometimes you know you you have good intentions but I got at the end of the day you’re exhausted and and then you just end up wanting to just sit there and whatever you want to do watch TV or you know just go to bed until I always like to say that really if you really want to keep that sparked going not to give up just because you feel like okay you know I don’t have that energy right now or I don’t have the time to put into this right now to really see and used Contra in a way that it’s really meant to be experienced right because Todd’s are really isn’t just all about sex right and having that fat set spark Tundra is it much deeper than that and so sometimes you have to tell yourself like okay even though we don’t have time to make love right now maybe maybe it’s just about lying down next to each other synchronizing out of breath making that I contact I’m falling asleep to that I’m letting that be enough you know before you know this night or this week or whatever it is like in the beginning it’s not to really put so much pressure on yourself but to use Simple practice is like you know that you have your own position and just sitting there together and being or maybe you know it’s one night you really need a massage right now you know I really just after having a long day or a long week and be with the kids so much that’s what I really need so communicating that to your partner and really staying in touch with that and not being embarrassed or not feeling like it’s too much or too much of a burden or whatever it is just really being clear about what you deeply need I’m in a lot of that comes down to really checking in you know with yourself all the time and seeing what’s there I really feel like things like that even though you know you might be cuz it’s also self-care right so you’re able to connect with your partner in that way and then you’re also able to have that time must be nurtured and a slowing down which is also key so I think everyone is going to work differently and it’s going to be unique for all of us but it’s really about finding those opportunities to stay consistent to really stay connected in those small tangible ways and mlc really accepting that it’s okay that you know your relationship has changed the amount of time might be able to have to devote to one another Soul has changed I’m not true but you can actually take all that and evolve it into something in a lot of cases that really goes much deeper than that you know because now it’s it’s amazing you know you have this this connection and you know going through motherhood and Emma strikes that that gives you time to actually be able to take that foundation and that strength and that those nurturing abilities and that expression being able to use that with your partner in your relationship I’m having that Foundation really can make me very powerful in a way that’s unexpected just as amazing as you always bring it back to the fundamentals of the practices this is not all hot air to talk about it tell about doing it doing the work and I just feel like it makes me think that I can think of I mean I know some couples will have the foresight to at least make prenuptial agreement but I can’t think of anyone who they actually said we are going to go through the most insane trans transformation of everything we know we can if its first time parents who have no clue what to expect and they and what if they were to get these to be the eye of a storm throughout anyting that’s the Abbey unless Ty gazing the synchronized breathing you can’t touch that space with anything so but but pure Bliss and whatever does need to get work through if it’s done in that space it’s going to be conscious it’s going to be a constructive and it’s going to be a firming so I feel like it’s the what I’m hearing you say and what diarrhea firm is two people listening if you were expecting and you want to keep this container of love together and ever strengthening then start doing his practices now and know that you’re going to really rely on them it’s going to be life-and-death okay we’re just going there so I can breed all right like can’t we just do that let’s just do that next week or let’s just all of that I mean once you start doing it and engaging and you feel that present in your body and the Net Connection you have to just trust that all of that and all of that adds up and all of that makes a difference in your relationship every moment of that that time that you have on to be able to connect in that way as powerful well thank you again for bringing it back to to those core practices again you could have a lot of compliments sure there’s a million complicated bits of advice that people could give for this but this is so practical and and I just I dare people could really do it in and I don’t think you can fail you know I don’t think it’s possible to fail if you have good intentions and you do the scratches so yeah so we were getting also to your kind of making a perfect segue to the next question which is more more about the the asymmetry of responsibility and Duty specially for breastfeeding mothers and mothers to be carried to full-term and whatnot it’s it’s like there’s such a the mail investment just as how I always make this joke there probably less violence in the world is men had to breastfeed but women actually held the babies in their room still so imagine that you wouldn’t be off to go into war and using weapons and guns and swords that she had breastfeeding on demand for whatever after 5 years income that would be great that leaves man with such an unfair and balance of freedom and privilege to not be bound to the those tasks so a lot of women are rightfully lamenting this sensitive of the men who are supposed to be there showing up to with the with the mother is hoping for is that yeah he’s going to go to work and put food on the table and make it so I don’t have to work hopefully or I can work you know in a way that I can still be involved in my children’s lives you know for God’s sake you know who something something not just not just the short maternity leave remind me that the CEO of YouTube is a yogini who is Hardcore advocate for way longer maternity leave or something yeah I didn’t know that I’ll send you a link to a video where it where you get to see that she’s actually really badass them she’s a fierce that ass woman who’s awake I have no idea how did you navigate and how do you recommend for women who maybe don’t have is as blessed of a of a beloved Fixer-Upper type type men how do you get them on board with really going the extra mile of of checking in about about the needs a mother you know mother would have if she is being assertive about her knees in about the new suicide where she would like how can you be humbled to her and just be asking and showing up to being serviced that’s a question that’s a really great question and I have to say that I’m really fortunate with Eric because he I mean he has just him and he is just been a tremendous support from the beginning but then at the same time it’s like I also have to do my part with him right of being very clear about I need you no because then it that this always with him you know in the beginning of special rub up against this when he just wouldn’t know you know and I would be just waiting silently expecting something but he wouldn’t really know that that was what exactly I was looking for right because for women it’s like having that ability to breastfeed and nurture and carry this baby. Room I mean just how we have those abilities so readily at hand and we know what we need sometimes it’s hard to say yeah I need this actually it sometimes it’s hard because where we can be so strong you know and we can put off the 15 so strong and like we have everything together and I know that I do that a lot of time where I’m just like yep I’m good I don’t need help I look what I’m doing all by myself I’m doing all these amazing but that really inside I’m like oh my gosh like what am I I can’t do all this by myself and just allowing your partner that opportunity like okay like this is really what I need and this is the support that I need and this is how I feel going through that and not being afraid to say I am overwhelmed right now you know and and can you please and saying this from a place of love right not from a place that judgment and like what are you doing for me and you know resenting that you know you have more freedom than me and Bubba blah and I’m here breastfeeding or whatever it is not doing it from that place but from you know from your center from a place of love like I’m I’m really overwhelmed I need help with this right now you know can you get up be up with a baby now for two hours because I only had 3 hours of sleep last night instead of just silently you know doing in that moment when you feel I mean I I just I know a lot of of moms and a lot of friends who dust will just be like okay well he didn’t you know my partner my spouse he didn’t step up and so I had to do it and then my will but did you say something and they’re like no or maybe they did say something but you know it wasn’t from that place you know of just clear intentional loving vulnerable until. I think that was one of the biggest things for me especially you know when our relationship I’m like okay and then you know my husband tries to tell me like he’s Eichler like he’s like really I want to be able to show up for you like I want to be strong for you I want you to feel good but he’s like I honestly don’t I just need to to hear it I just sometimes I need to be told or I need to be reminded because it doesn’t come as naturally to me and then show me be mindful of that and not you know not falling to being hurtful or resentful something makes me cute different do you know well that’s really really profound that that really gets to the hardest exactly what I’m seeing go wrong inside once at once that slippery slope really hard I mean it’s kids once this thing start to add up then breaking through that you’re really. It’s really snowballing and that’s your thing everything is this Noble thing I’ve seen it yet so that is great advice I think that work that I said the fly to something if x is kind of ridiculous that it reminds me of I remember seeing young young women and whatever middle school or high school and home home economics class and they will be given an assignment to have a baby doll with them for whatever and in that relationship it’s like okay honey we’re going to do what it’s going to feel like for me to be busy and need help from you and you put in your garden that would be funny if it decided to give people that sensitivity at sensitivity training cuz once it’s already ratchet up and then more expenses than what I’m seeing to notice let me know way more than I do but it’s like I don’t think I think people underestimate the cost of of multiple visits to the pediatrician a week you know it’s like figuring out food allergies and decoding the sugar all of the ways that sugar is is is surreptitiously inserted into packaged food and just it’s such a pill battle to be holistic and to be in at all so it’s just this this is all in on top of just I mean most people are just buying everything off the shelf from entertainment to toys to food to diapers and whatever it is it’s all just off the shelf but to have that effect of wanting to do better than the last Generations or to resist the marketing and be more green or whatever that’s a whole another layer of the building so you know it’s just to get more and more complicated and at the end of the day I see the women just getting ran ragged and the dudes just kind of blowing him off sadly to say but if we could he had say that actually kind of Segways a bit to another question which is and this I mean you could you could write a whole book just on this subject alone out so I don’t expect you to to go too far into it but maybe just some off the top of your head pointers and we can move along quick to know we’re getting close on time so so any suggestions for creative and educational and non-toxic toys just a few maybe went to one website or one store just don’t know anything I don’t know if I’d be the best person to ask about that because I not that they have a choice in general just because you know like all the plastic and everything I mean and we like literally their toys are like one corner of our house like a couple of containers and that’s it and they barely even play them to be honest with you I feel like the simpler the better you know I feel like I’m all about like art you know art projects you know the pain and the crayons and all the art supplies and things like that so that they can enhance their minds and use their hands that way and explore that way they’re into that but I found that you know the purchases that I made with toys throughout the years it’s like that use it and then they’re done and that’s like a big hunk of plastic sitting there are biodegradable and Wooden Spoons and then they’d be busy for 2 or 3 hours you know that they have gotten that I get them they’re like okay and then they open it and then they look at it for 10 minutes and then I end up you know it’s just a way so yes so we do more we like to do more stuff you know in nature I mean they like to play you know what they say they love gospel they love being outdoors they love Ari and they love puzzles and things like that so that’s why I hope that I hope and pray that we will all have abundant opportunities to being healthy natural environments and have plenty of more outdoor time the better cuz there’s some nature is like endless you know just being outside they’re like so fascinated by every little thing the backyard I don’t know it exactly how I like how did the people survived all of those many years ago without these big pieces of plastic and well that is exactly what I thought I hope to hear in and a very firm it if so this is another test of the last one here is probably the the most kind of universal so I don’t know if there is an answer to this question however I died would like to spend I would like to spend my golden years doing a lot more anthropological research on on foraging sigala Terry and societies before you spell hunter-gatherer societies who have basically none of the the neurotic issues that people in the modern world have and and I love to know I would like to believe that there is that there was a golden age of human Innocents where the terrible twos didn’t exist and then that we could decode that and figure out what is it more nurturing Less Talk toxins I mean is it just that there’s so much overstimulation and so many maybe you’re actually able to perceive carcinogens at that age and then you stopped being able to and that’s why I mean it could be anything less or I could just sent them know something very out of balance that’s just modern so I’m just wondering if you have if you were really idealistic about know I’m going to teach there going to be a master Yogi’s by the age of one so that the terrible twos happen though I already beat exam enough I don’t know why you if you were like I don’t know like tell me what that’s been like for you and then if you have advice for people who are in that approaching that Horizon will for me I really I really just try to go with the flow you know just so I’ll talk to style just like accepting every part of it I was just part of the the beautiful messy process of development and growth and exploration and sometimes I do know because otherwise then it’s just become so hard you know what I’m saying because you expect it is you’re going to have meltdowns right it’s not it’s not going to be easy is there at like going to be some very tough days especially in the beginning if it’s going to be hard you feel like what what am I what did I get myself into one of my hairdo evaporate the next moment you know you’re going to feel the most joy and Bliss and happiness that you ever felt like wow that’s amazing that I get to be a part of this process you know that I get to witness this human being growing and developing and it’s it’s just amazing so it’s really you know you know the whole ton truck idea of a flowing through those energy that accepting every moment no matter how chaotic and allowing those emotions and those feelings and those moments to move to you during this challenging time to witness in you know children and young children because it’s like they can like be so happy in one moment and literally within five seconds that can beat me on the floor it’s crazy right it’s like oh my gosh the wide array of emotions from moment to moment and not inhibit that till I I feel like you know it’s like wow for me initially seen that in the beginning and fidget with night was my first one and that you can just move so fluidly like this and just just like that and get so consumed by something else in another moment we just amazing to me so I think we can really take a lot of sign a lot of lessons and just being present at something to a Full Circle closed right now because what I am even before you started to reply that lesson for grown-ups really about about cycling through your full expression and not choking your body is response to a situation out and the full the full body response to a situation I was actually remember me on my phone while I remember a room full of adults it you and Eric’s condo and we were being instructed to behave like children having a tantrum so that we can feel good and actually know the nice that storm there’s like the sun and the blue sky and in the EXO baekhyun the funny faces and doing the monster dance and some just like well you’re probably realizing hits are the times of the exactly yeah it’s it’s pretty amazing to witness is there a word for like reverse parenting or something has got to be a word for the the the from children actually teaching adults what they’re forgetting and I didn’t mean well that’s really it’s a really heartwarming conversation and I feel like the people who are hearing this and who have experienced so much pain and distress that there is such a open source free to use to spend your own time studying it get this book read the book watch Roadies videos I certainly considered to be the highest resource that I like to share with folks because of the same reason they listen before adjusters I don’t feel like there is a knot a snake-oil aspect of what you’re selling and there’s not a sort of a shady ulterior motive saying a gender that I have to worry about and and I just can’t say that about that many people until I’m sure you know and I certainly feel for myself that you know I have I always want to be deferring is often as possible to sort of protect my Integrity to not be the what do they call it like the god cock Shaman is just a narcissistic people’s souls and that’s easy enough to it’s easier to take that route of that that black timeshare manipulate manipulate almost hard not to do it so I mean I’m making and I feel like we are making major effort cuz that’s the complete opposite of what you are and what you and body I mean from the very beginning so yeah no thank you I really feel like you are just I mean somebody who’s just really in there doing that you’re like doing the work you know and you like do it like with an open heart you’re just like in there and you’re talking to everybody and just creating this just really amazing platform. You should be really proud of well thank you again and again I have to say you helped start at all and one of my the first real social proof that I had was that was your gracious licensing of me to share some of the video work that we did together it’s been a blessing that go into detail but all that in that in that previous episode supposed to listen of that and I will say that we we were blessed and burden in this in this time of this episode to take to cover a good intro to the book and also to open this discussion about time to Parenting I definitely want to set the intention that in the future we will give more of a of a deep dive into your personal background and it sort of will let that be a cliffhanger to hear about your experiences early introduction of Tantra and just kind of the got your path of building that confidence and certainly the form give experience Syfy oh my God it all yeah we haven’t got into your filmography either still be there next time to say this for next time to talk about birth because yes I mean not as deep and my experience naturally delivering and doing it with Tantra as my Foundation is the only way that I said I survived it and actually enjoyed it. Arrington have the complete box set free thank you so much thank you so much for having me it was really great and most richest time in in a moment to to share this Basin and certainly yeah it’s it’s a got it just give you a big big bow down because this you were the one who helped me start this this whole journey I don’t know I don’t know who I’d be or where I’d be doing it if we didn’t have a Meeting of Minds you know so yeah I can’t believe I forgot to say this I mean you were seriously you were the first one who discovered my website you were the first one who reached out to me and one of the first that I’ve actually I will say the first that I taught that I didn’t know because I had started already like teaching but like you know friends and friends of friends but you were the first clean one like the first student I was like oh wow yeah that that walked in and like was the beginning of really that Journey so thank you I did not know that I did not realize that that that’s funny so funny I can’t believe I never told you that that’s very well so everybody just like get over your awkwardness and just represent just like bring your egg and no matter what things will come out you know it’ll all fall in place to get back to the Sam and yeah I give them my love and thank them for allowing you to to do the book and for all of the people who parted the sea so that you could get that book done and then provide provide that to us and so much more thank you I know it I just want to say thank you so much for Amy what you just what you spoke about earlier just blew me away how you been stepping up to support women and you know what your mother’s I mean you are really holding for me to space there and this is really something that you know I know that would indeed and you know a lot of them have been longing for so thank you so much for for being that person and for filling that role cuz it’s just amazing the work that you’ve been doing all these years I thank you you planning to see each other that they were they say that it’s the fruit doesn’t fall far from the tree at least in the sense of the guru to train me to be a womanizing pick up artist in the name of conscience so I guess that’s why we you know gravitated toward each other There Was You know. The little like energy so I think I don’t think you would have found that path that was not your will thank you so much again yeah so much so much good vibes and good times and we will be in touch soon and and best of luck with all of your your your book emotional adventurous okay great thank you so much fun. Devika Signh Pic

In this episode I’m joined again by dear friend and tantric comrade Devika the Techy Tantrika for a discussion about the future of public policy for sex workers, sex educators, sex technologists, and more. We explore our mutual fascination for the study of how sexuality is regulated by policy makers who seem to have decreasing interest in consulting with the populations their laws affect the most. An emergent property of our convo is the fleshing out of a sort of verbal white paper outlining the problems we’re facing in the sex industry and the innovative solutions that are rapidly evolving in the sex tech space.

Check out our first episode for more info on her personal backstory:

Com and our journey together will begin welcome to Tantra Punk podcast episode number 184 I’m being joined by Alejandra Aguilar and she is the health educator an HIV counselor at the East Los Angeles Women’s Center and we sort of met at a recent sex workers Outreach project event on December 17th which was the international day to end violence against sex workers and there was a beautiful creative artistic kind of community building event that was held there and that was the first time I had visited the East last night Women’s Center and I was very thrilled to know that that the place exists and of the great work they’re doing there and Alejandra was hosting the event through the space and has some really powerful and moving things to say about the work that she does in support of women’s health in and sexuality health and education and so I was very moved and thought I’d reach out and see if she like to tell us a bit more about her personal background and about what the great works that are offered at the center there so I’ll a hundred thank you so much for joining me looking forward to hearing more about your story thank you thank you Ben and thank you for inviting me to be part of this podcast so as you mention my name is HIV counselor at the East Los Angeles Women’s Center and yeah I recalled that for a little over 42 years and one of the things that we always want to let people know is that this is a place where women silence is hurt for the community has their silence and so we decided to open up our space so that sex workers and their allies and come in and and have a safe place to meet and so I have been working in the field of HIV for in reproductive health for a little over 14 years and you know when I arrive to this country when I was 8 years old and one of the reasons why I’m very passionate about advocating for Women Health is because specially for the health and well-being and the needs of let me know is because many times Latinas specially Latinos who are aware of the services that might be out there to support them and so one of my one of my reasons for being an ally in in the the support of sex workers is to be able to avoid the needs of women especially one of the things that I did was I was a child care provider even though I was a child myself I used to babysit that the children of many sex workers women who were immigrants who worked up at sex workers and so I got to see a lot of the needs that a lot of the new show of the women and definitely a lot of them are children and so you know as I was getting older I decided to to look into this route of being of service to to the community by advocating for the needs of your penis growing up I got to see how special immigrant women for sexual abuse that shows fault interpersonal violence and definitely sexual explotation and when I started working at the East Los Angeles Women’s Center I thought this is perfect I get to work for an organization that is aligned with my beliefs and here I am 14 years into providing Services Organization advocating for the woman’s name well that is so powerful and thank you so much for sharing that and specially about your personal background ATS really moving to me I know that there that there is a lot of really strong feminist history and in feminist movement history around women sexual health and and support services and also and sort of sort of vaguely aware of different tensions that there have been within the feminist movement around 7 is sewer or not as supportive of sex workers or of women who were involved in the adult industry and some some who maybe are more supportive some curious if you have had to navigate any of those those politics within the women within the women’s movement about the sort of taboo subjective of the sex industry not necessarily you know I am very fortunate to be in this organization I’m very fortunate to have a strong network of providers that believe in advocating for everyone and when we say everyone it means every single person regardless of what they’re definitely here at the women’s center we do not see people for what they do we see them for who they are and so when we see when we see you know a sex worker we see them for who they are first and foremost a human being have to keep for them or what you would like and definitely no I haven’t encountered any of that it does not mean that it’s not the doesn’t accept them pretty sure there’s so many people that have encounter with you but I myself have not I’m really glad to hear that because I got that Vibe definitely that there was no judgment and no no sort of distance or or or judgment you about about that because it is so it is so much a part of life and people want to ignore it or people want to just hiding from it but it’s it’s a real serious issues I appreciate it very much that that you hold that space and and I want to thank you for doing that so if you could help us understand a bit about what the the most vital needs are of those those women who are doing work in the sex industry what are some of the things that people should know about as far as what they face on a daily basis and even ways that that people who are maybe just wanting to support them where are they they want to be allies how they can also be supportive but would definitely I cannot speak for everyone but I can’t I am able to speak for those who I have been fortunate and humble enough to provide services doing these are the Immigrant Latinos who work in the bars on the country has most of the time you asked about their needs what their needs are definitely there’s a lot of me to to provide them with resources resources and when I say resources what kinds of resources and support that they need to let them know about the right and to let them know that if they have been abused molested in any way that there is are places that can help them if they need just a space where they can just feel safe that there’s such a space about what we hope to who provides many of the women that we service the well-being overall well-being we are always concerned about their health their physical health or emotional health because we know that it can take a toll on their health specially those who work at night all we know that is if it can be difficult for them to to take care of that their help because the majority of them are also mothers and because they are mothers you know many times Latinas put the needs of their own meat how can I say it they put their needs before the needs of anyone else and they last one but they’re nice and so I want to advocate for them we also want to let them know that they have rights we hope to educate them about the right within the women that we service some of them are hiv-positive and so will support them we support them by providing resources for their help for them so that they can receive the services well thank you very much again for doing that work in something that I that I have been made very much aware of by my association with women who who would be considered those very strong feminist critique of the patriarchal economic structures and just the way capitalism works and how how this Empire is really built on on its own built on the backs of immigrant labor and and and from what you’re saying it’s also built on the bodies of the sex workers who who serve a lot of different types of male laborers and I’m wondering what if you care to share from your personal perspective what are some observations are inside sore or strong feelings you may have around what the what the role of men who may be there maybe they are sex buyers or maybe they are temps or maybe they are you know what and then you can any level of that economy do you ever have the opportunity to to Enlighten them or two to help them become more active in doing the support work for the for the women or what what is your feeling about the men who are just kind of you don’t hear a lot about the John’s or the Pimp C male a male and get you component we are thinking by myself a big advocate for making change in our communities mobilizing one of the one of the things that I do is when I am able to speak to groups of men and provide them with information writing with resources to do is to let them would like for them specially if they are consumers of the services of the women who are sex workers Michael is for them not to think of the women as object to know that there’s a story behind them that there that these women might have gone through many struggles am I making sense yes this is amazing I love to hear it to hear more about it cuz I feel like it’s so lacking it’s so lacking in that people actually try to educate them and whether it’s about using condoms or or being just mine. I’m being respectful this is Range Community and to use their voice to Advocate from them as well to use whatever privilege they have as meant to protect them to advocate for them that’s definitely one one of our pools and one of the things that we hope to accomplish is for for men to go beyond those gender roles that they are putting the moment they are born we want them to understand that they can break out of that box I agree with you yes wow so if that that thank you so much for sharing those insights that they’re really really touches my my heart and soul because I feel like I’m as myself as a sex worker myself I’ve been mistreated and abused and certainly I would have loved for the very wealthy the wealth of the wealthier of my clients to to be giving back and supporting nonprofit organizations that actually create a better life and more resources 400 why wouldn’t you why wouldn’t you give back to to like a trade Association it was helping you have a good experience in helping you get your needs met so hopefully yeah I’m excited to hear about what you’re doing over the other people will do that kind of Outreach as well so if we could talk a bit about the I feel like it’s it would be important to give some context for people listening to this what what the scope of sexual assault really looks like from your perspective you’re really seeing and I again am I feel very honored to speak with you knowing that you’re you’ve chosen to be putting yourself in a position to have so much exposure and really be very empathetic and very compassionate towards people who are in times of Crisis and some of the the most extreme trauma and current crisis so you could help to sensitize the listeners of this podcast to do some what it what is sort of typical cycle is when you have someone to say come in for services who is in trauma or crisis and in kind of what whatever is appropriate you know for you to share but that I think would be good for us to understand that means we started in 1976 and actually disorganization begin you know it was first bilingual confidential 24 hour 7 days a week crisis hotline to be able to service and provide support to survivors of sexual assault what we do is we have a hotline and call if they have just been assaulted molested or phrase taking cold even if it happened many years ago in another country we provide supporting the support looks something like this we we do Hospital accompany me to go to the hospital to provide support to the Survivor of rape and we’re able to see people all ages for survivors from a baby to someone well over the age of 90 we see that again we see them for who they are we see them as human beings Survivor and we are basically there to support them we allow them to have a safe safe space to come in and speak support when and if they’re ready mix someone is ready and they would like to come in and receive support we can provide them with counseling therapy and again we never tell them what to do we are there in their healing journey in the journey to heal I said we’re walking hand-in-hand with them so where’s that the healing path and soul Moana singing about in 2016 I remember in 2016 we provided services to over 10,000 women and children on the hotline movie about 2,200 called so we’re pretty busy if ever since that Open Door hotline has never closed and twice a year would provide training for people to become sexual assault advocate so that they can help survivors they can do hospital but also so that they get the keys for the needs of survivors important so after all of this exposure that you and your colleagues and peers with organization in and near the community of people that you’re connected with her your allies in Von forcement in the justice system and that the hospital system and the the sword I guess there’s also the social services and Family Services sectors of thumb of the county and in local local governments I’m curious if you could talk about some of the powder and some of the insides whatever you’ve been able to kind of a phone some conclusions you may have arrived at just about to the patterns of abuse and where you feel like the most effective interventions can occur on the preventative side of this issue how to do there’s definitely a lot to do but we definitely one of our one of them nothing’s that needs to happen to be able to to end sexual assault and domestic violence definitely HIV we need to end violence against women and homophobia swell we definitely know that if we end violence against women we end homophobia we are very well and then into the HIV epidemic we are definitely going to see Alright by very much agree with that and tell me what comes to mind from me for my personal experience in for my studies and I love to hear what you had what you would have to stay from your perspective Which is far more I would say far from a highly developed than mine because of the position that you that you’ve taken up and and I would say with what are your thoughts on the you mentioned machismo that’s something that I’m interested to hear more about what what that where that comes from and what you would how you would advise people to deconstruct that that sort of some aspect of violence in and then also alcohol and Andrew role that you feel that plays or substance abuse and how that feeds into the violence well it’s definitely a collaborative effort of everyone social service providers to law enforcement to every single every single person has a responsibility to an hour in one of the things we have are you aware of basically the women from targeted community wengage and Outreach and education and what they do is they increase awareness of sexual assault and resources and domestic violence victims and their families but they also bring awareness and so one of the things that that we have here in our organization in mind you all women that can be women that are actively working a sex workers women for HIV positive Housewives just about anyone and they go through this training where they learn about their culture how their cultural experiences shape their identity with a lot of focus on the Latino cultures and Value Inn in the experiences that they might have had growing up and still one of the things that we encourage them don’t is to look at what what are the values of culture that contribute in a positive way to to have better communities to to make them feel safe right it in to make a change in the world and to keep those we encourage them to look at the one that can be toxic that can be done that perpetuate and we encourage them to to look at both and decide which ones they want to keep which ones they want to transmit to other generation so we start with that beautiful well thank you for doing that as well in I’m curious if we could go to the next question which is the just to the prevalence of alcohol and domestic violence I think is pretty well well known that a lot of sexual assault and violence happened in in circumstances that are sort of fueled by drunkenness and I’m curious if you have thoughts on to substance abuse and alcoholism and how that how that affects the work that you do and the the the women that you support but we do know that it art again you know what we need people were there as we don’t we do not follow up a model of trauma-informed that means we are not going to shame people if they have issues with substance abuse know we can help them try to get to the root of why they’re they’re using or why they’re drinking rice I can tell you definitely my perspective from what I saw growing now I can tell you that issues with alcoholism are very prevalent with the with the women who work in the bar and the emptiness sex workers because that is part of their work in order to make a living they have to drink with the client and so many women that start working in the barn and the emptiness when they start working in the bar on the time peanut they have never you know in their life they have never had a drink but once they start working out of their job it’s how they make that living and some many of them develop alcoholism that’s one of the things that I saw and so you know if you if you asked to do it that many have a history of abuse or trauma that it don’t even know that they have this history of abuser, they don’t even know what to name those feeling you know very bad idea that depression you have a very difficult situation for for the person you know when one of these again that I hate that I was able to see I was able to see because of the lack of support and empowerment and resources available to this woman I saw in a bunch of this day I still seen any of them Works who no longer work in the calendar because there was no support there was no one to assist them teach them how to how to make a budget how to save the money or even how to invest some of them and not only that but a lot of them ended up with issues of alcohol yeah I hear you and that actually comes at least to my next question really which is about what you see as some of the the positive outcomes and the I would say to be clear I don’t believe that it’s wrong to be a sex worker ever see for myself I die in the part of the six work industry so there are some people would say well you just need to go to church and you need to quit the lifestyle and and and you need to leave it all behind you which I’m not I’m not here to say is this is right or wrong but but I will I will say that I’m very interested in what what 6 I think about the concept of a success story or someone who has overcome substance abuse or alcoholism in if they choose to remain active in the sex industry but I from a healthier place or if they choose to move beyond that I’m curious what you what are some of the pathways that you have facilitated or witnessed of of women who have become really empowered either is former sex workers or or or sort of sex workers in recovery what are some of the success stories that you would say that you’ve been a part of each other’s privacy and confidentiality if I can tell you that there’s this particular woman who is what after she became involved and after she was able to gather with other women saw other women like herself all about the right person for most of the human bean learn that there is nothing to be ashamed of learn to speak remind learn to Advocate Parker cell I was able to see an amazing transformation this is a person who now is able to speak up for herself this is someone who is able to negotiate pay for sex which I think it’s amazing to see this is someone who if she feels that someone is making her feel ashamed because of what she does she’s able to speak up she doesn’t know her head as she used to be for not just that but her priority priority priority herself above anything else in that include making better decisions when it comes to drinking that our decisions for her mean eating what you drink tea not not drinking as much as she used to before that you will forget to take her medication doesn’t make sense that is In N safety she she has been able to say she now has a savings account which is tremendous you know because now she’s planning or for the years I had to fight absolutely well I’ll take you out to other women beautiful well that’s that’s very good to hear and thank you again for doing that and just maybe a couple few more questions one will be going back to the the other half of the equation which is the the male role in and all of this into client role so I sounds like you’re yeah you have a lot of experience working with women who were in that that culture of the bar and cantina world and so like you said that there will be drinking is just part of the job and I’m curious if you if you could reach into the heart and soul of the the male clients and understand where they’re coming from and if they would maybe intergenerational trauma or or personal issues that they may be dealing with in and if we were to make if we were to all be working together to create more empowered and more conscious and then we’re healthy men and male clients and then maybe they would maybe this sounds ridiculous I guess but but I would love to see a world where where sex work is is legal and where people clients and and and service providers could meet up at a healthy juice bar or something or like a farmers market or something you know where it’s it’s not always in the context of of alcohol and that kind of sort of sector and so I’m just curious if when you think about this and when you work in this in this world if you do you have any advice for four men who are just maybe this sort of their kind of being set up or something I don’t know why I don’t know what you how you feel about just the whole the nature of that in of that that world of the the bar scene in the all that wouldn’t be able to provide education you know when I go out and we have those messages that week we share with with menopause sensitive to have healthy relationships with all the people in their life okay and do would you say while we’re on the topic of the Mennonite and I appreciate it and it sounds like what needs to happen is that more more men need to step up and organize and do Outreach it’s you already sounds like you’re already very your hands are full working with women and it sounds like that would be good for more men to anybody listening who has that the resources or the means to to do more Outreach Two Men and hopefully that will that will happen and I would say I just want another question just while we’re on the topic is if you if you feel like there is do you feel like a lot of the men who are of War buying the sexual services at women are they are they not really functional in their in their their own marriages that are on family life and are they I guess I don’t know like I said the other is there anything you can say about about the profile or the sort of in the attitude or the State of Mind of the mail client server or are they just a lot of single man to hoodoo don’t have a wife and that therefore they had they feel like they have to get through the day but with a beer you know with getting some drinks and inviting some sex and again there is so much so much change that needs to happen in one of them against the things that I be all that needs to happen from what I saw you know growing up in a very traditional community at 8 I was born in Mexico and I grew up in the town I was very religious it was okay for men to go to a bar in to go to La Cantina to look to spend some time with women right because many of them felt have to ask for certain things from their wives or their girlfriends was disrespectful and so they grew up thinking that the women that worked in the bar in the Campina where it was okay to have certain things of them right certain sexual things or even just to drink with them right again that idea that the women that worked in the casino or less than the women that are at home but that should not be the case that we can community that there’s this idea that yeah I’m going to go to the bar I’m going to go to the one with her right or she will be willing to deliver for a Spur to do and I cannot ask my wife to do that because she’s a good wife or she’s a good woman or she’s going to get offended if I ask her to do certain things when it might be very well that her wife at home or at home is wishing he will do those things with her because of how she grew up in this box that she was playing through gender role that don’t ask for something sexual well your violence violence that that if you are a good wife you would not dare ask for any of that and so that’s one of the things that I’m very passionate about teaching women again we let you know when it’s okay to to look for pleasure it’s okay to have conversations with your partner about certain things it’s okay to explore as long as you are both okay in the end it’s okay to look for a relationship with someone who is not going to feel threatened if you ask for certain things for your own pleasure well that is really powerful and I appreciate you saying that that really means a lot that really helps me understand a lot better and I hope I hope we can move towards that and and I appreciate the work you’re doing to create that space to explore and understand and and change the is paradigm so you’re so another question I have for you which is kind of this kind of extraordinary but I like to I like to do you know what some people call a thought experiment where you just think about what obviously you have you have some budgetary constraints and you have people power constraints but if you and your team or your colleagues the people you work within your organization if you somehow we’re blessed with the resources and the even just to say you won the lottery or something absurd like that but it was just say you had you had really almost Limitless potential or and Empower even politically to say okay this is all of this is all of the wisdom that we have and these are the proposals that we have and and if you just had what what you need to talk about investment and whatnot so if there was a if there was a venture capital firm that says we really think what you’re doing is important and we feel like that there is a benefit to society to have you you all have more resources and really if you if you had almost Limitless budget what are some of the things that you would do to to accelerate and grow and expand you know your services in certainly how I mean I would love to see since having been to the place you know your location I would love to see myself I would love to see you have more more acreage you no more land and something like the weirdest El Centro Farm was there some place where you can have Community Gardens in actual herbal Gardens in and healing natural areas and places for meeting that we’re outside and there were also safe and also had security so that’s just kind of what comes to my mind but I’m curious what you would do or what you would sort of dream up if you had almost no limits to what you can imagine wow there’s so much that we will definitely do love I can tell you that with a bigger budget we will definitely be able to since we will not have waiting list for four clients to to enrolled into into a program but definitely one thing will be to to increase to provide more support for the women that are hiv-positive because of budget I’m talking about financial support very limited women are always left behind and yet they’re the ones that love to see more help women’s health programs that are more sex-positive that are inclusive of sexual trauma Empower women to advocate for their sexual health definitely expand more men’s healing talking circles where they can wear the men pink and strengthen the relationship that we would love to see that but definitely if there was no monetary restrictions more more a healing circles or for women where they can talk about their health advocate for the health including their sexual health awesome thank you so much for sharing and I’m hoping that all of your dreams will come true you’re suddenly during such important and if I don’t work in the community and so yeah I wish you absolutely the best moving forward and hopefully yeah we’ll see each other again and then more more collaboration will happen that will be mutually supportive within our communities do you have any closing words you’d like to share and then also do you want to share the website URLs and any other links or any other ways to connect that would be great bilingual 24-hour hotline anyone can reach this hotline 24/7 the number is 800 5856 231 once again is 800-585-6231 and our website is www.ladwp.com org once again is so absolutely yes sir I appreciate it’s been an honor and do you have any last closing words you like to say is just a call to action or or things that you feel like if if people knew in NC could hear this voice than they would they would they would want to step up and and I guess it was before we say that you are a 501 c 3 charitable non-profit so donations are tax-deductible am I correct that we are especially in need of support because we have the only shelter in the mission where people can can go if they have just been sexually assaulted or if they have just landed on the hospital and they’re afraid to go back home or back to where the perpetrator or abuser is and we definitely need a lot of support for that our women’s HIV program a lot of sports comidas up with some sort of supporting in the dollar if you can share our website with others or even our Facebook page elawc please go ahead and do so we will be very grateful thank you so much Alejandro I think that was a really good introduction to all of the the work you’re doing and I hope that’s a lots of good things come from this and hopefully we will have meet again and and maybe we can follow up again and have you back on sometime in the future talk about some new developments and hopefully there’s there will be a lot more a lot more great things happening in the future so thank you again for your time and we’ll be in touch okay bye bye thank you Com and our journey together will begin hello dear beloved welcome to Township on podcast episode number 131 I am here with a very distinguished gentle woman and her name is devika Singh and she is VTEC e x chica YouTube same and if you haven’t been over to her YouTube channel to look at her amazing instructional tantric sex and self relationship advice and just great wisdom all the videos you been putting out over over a couple years now leased yet several years are just trying to you know get that loving good energy out there to folks and help people discover more opportunities for self-love them in better relating in their lives and so and then with assertive text Spin and Edge cuz you have that background as well so without further Ado do you want to tell us a bit about how you came to be the tech country care what the what GIF you have to offer these days awesome thank you so much thank you yes I was you mentioned I’m too because I’m your techies country, so I have been doing YouTube I have to actually I should start off by saying I did take a break what’s a med 2017 so you know middle of last year because I started getting really busy with my practice and and I actually decided to go back to school and I’ll get into why I am just a little second a little bit but what inspired me to do YouTube alongside with going full-time with my coaching practice was that I know that you mention I’m a selfish relationship coach as well as its hundreds X coach and a big part of that for me was always helping people understand where they stand in the equation of their lives right because for me I feel like southcare spans over many different aspects of the South sulita mental emotional energetic sexual and physical right like we are constantly evolving as people but we’re also honor thing ourselves right here always actually just trying to not just take care of ourselves but enhance our lives so that’s always been a big part of my my existence as a coach I’ve been coaching I was trying to figure this out the other day cuz I was doing it part-time in an awful lot so I’ve been honestly coaching for about 14 years I do have a diploma in life coaching but I I actually was doing it before that too because I actually just had like people even in parties and like social Gatherings when I was actually even quite young like you know 1920 just feel really comfortable with me and start talking to me about you know the their life dilemmas when I started realizing I had a really good knack for helping people and transitions in their lives but I always felt like something was missing and I was always curious about talking about that is I got into finding my teachers and embracing Eastern philosophies and especially with Tibetan Buddhism I started really understanding myself as a x Rika and I really wanted to share that with people and as you mentioned I worked in taxes well I have recreational coating background and I always really stand behind tag because I feel like that’s revolutionising everything for us like I feel like air in our society has stagnated in certain Arenas and I feel like heck is going to help he’ll be here about disruptive Tech and I feel like. Disruption in many ways help us help our society actually evolved faster and much better ways than we could have without it right like it also connects us if it wasn’t for the internet then we wouldn’t even describe people like you and to meet them in person like this is it I just think you’re so lucky to be in this time you know yeah do you have any more to say about the disir your journey to this point or do you want to talk now about what what people can be looking looking for on your YouTube channel some of the topics you’ve gone into yeah let’s talk about that I’d be more than glad to so actually I created the YouTube channel when I went full-time with my practice because I was having a hard time kind of explaining to people what I do when I first started I actually was gearing more towards single people right I noticed single people were the ones that seemed most interested in what I was doing prior to going full force with my practice it was like okay I’ll be a single singles coached but then I started realizing my clients were actually people who are married already but a lot of them had felt alienated in their relationships are wanted to re-engage the spark in their relationship select a few ingredients of thought and then I realized you know what like ice had less sink people actually coming to me for one on one coaching but I also wanted to do singles clinics I live in Toronto Ontario in Canada but I started also you can notice saying that for example meetup.com is changing their policies and they were no longer allowing dating coaches to even have like dating Clinic signals clinics I start saying through their service and I was like well I could do this through Facebook but there’s something not quite right here there’s something weird going on for me so I was really just tapping and try to figure out well you know if people who are married are the ones are coming to me why not just continue to cater towards that niche market so you’ll notice on my YouTube channel I do to a lot of dating advice and I also started writing at 1:44 she does the city which is a Blog for women in Toronto it’s a lot of its dating and sex advice but I also started really putting an emphasis on self-pleasure and I actually prefer the term self-pleasure over masturbation is masturbation tends to have a negative connotation for people I think even if it’s Latin roots are the best either like it doesn’t exactly translate to the amazing as it is self-pleasure and I feel like you know when we’re on a touch of Journey we’re on a journey to self-discovery it begins with us you know so I have put an emphasis I have a playlist on my channel and specifically for some pleasure and I also have a playlist for dating advice and for self improvement and you know just what I would say if anybody is new to my channel take a look at my playlist because I do actually have you know I try to categorize them as best as I could also because I’m a huge nerd most player I found wonderful ways to bring minor dumb and my love for Tech Trends in the intersect sometimes it to my face by Channel X I like to have fun and creative Endeavors like creativity something also I think really drives home to self care and self-love so I was quite busy I was doing you know what the weekend I feel like there’s a lot of material on there and I just you don’t try to organize the best site might possibly could to help people with you know whatever they’re looking for you know because something to is he could go to my channel for one thing but then end up finding something else entirely that intrigues you or helps you solve an issue too so you don’t have a lot of people just email me and thanked me for the free information cuz I like I really do like providing free information and the coaching aspect I I provide that because I feel like we have you may have one problem but then being able to discuss those problems and actually personalized and work through those is so imperative so I’m about to head out to people who have with my clients that need on that level as well so it’s just really nice to like when you have enough should you get this to all the time. Just people you never met emailing you say thank you so much for what you provide us you know that’s cool that’s really what you wanted to head home and just you know spread this information like wildfire it looks just like you do and that by the way I’m loving everything that you do cryptocurrency right now like it’s just a mind-blowing wonderful to me like you’re doing such a great job with bridging like Ops 4 people amazing awesome thanks so much well yeah I I love your work and I have you as the top of my my playlist on the the University of time trip playlist that I put together which is got all kinds of wild stuff is it a good introduction yet especially bringing in the shamanic aspects of you want to talk about you or your philosophy of Tantra really and I know you you really have that you have a flair for the Buddhist infections of Tantra and so yeah it should be a great a great time and place to kind of give a unique perspective that you have witches you brought me really into an understanding and appreciation for the the Met police Traditions which in some ways you could say have preserved some of the most pristine copies of the database from the ancient times so but you know with all that said you were your secret Tantra but I know they’ll be so many more opportunities in the future is wild to do this because it almost does feel like a secret like I I would love to relate as best as I can but you will you ensure you know this is Tantra is very hard to find publicly but I think a lot of it is hidden in plain sight like and that’s the beauty of it really like I’ve had I love the analogy of just like people walking by the treasure chest everyday and not realizing it’s there it’s there in plain sight but if people it’s only there to exactly the knowledge of the wisdom of non-duality just very much like what they refer to in Buddhism it’s like if you look at the way tonsura is practice like in Hinduism for example and also Buddhism the idea of taking what’s taboo and embracing it is very much a part of these traditional religious systems around Todd’s Road I like taking for example bodily fluids and I know in him to talk to her I like her certain sectors are sects of Hinduism where it is toxic Hinduism and they’ll take things that are considered taboo mainstream Hinduism and use that in their religious practices so like it could be poly fluids it could be like meat sex could also obviously be a part of that as well alcohol I’ve heard of being used in those sex as well and I’m not saying that you have to practice with a hindrance talked about this talk-to-text what other other one might completely you know take you by storm and you makes us fall in love with you know the kids would say with Buddhist talks for that’s really appeal to me for example but the idea behind that is that you’re embracing what human Humanity has considered let’s say disgusting or an appealing and understanding in that process that it’s all one in the same you know to say one thing is gross or you know just you know unworthy and then the other thing is sacred this is not you know this is not what you’ll find in time for us how tall is looking at Everything Is Beautiful one of my favorite books call Todd request I’m not I’m not going to ruin it for anybody I just highly recommend the book masontops Rica in the whole book where she’s that’s one thing she’s really teaching her students she’s just teaching him the you know like one thing is like a fairy say for example of leprosy disease shouldn’t be just throw it off to the side over there like we should be acknowledging this is a part of life and you know and embracing that this can happen to people but also helping people learning took the nozzle Italy and compassionately live you know what illness or disease that’s that’s for me that’s a very big part of what I’ve done as well as a talk to me, like I have hopped I had help people who are living with animals that are both debilitating and also you know might be considered taboo and Society or like you know like looked upon as like as for example STDs and STIs fortunately and there’s always been some weird stigma around the sort of thing and psychologically it’s actually been proven that when people try to hide illnesses they actually deteriorate faster like so you know that it’s just it’s unfortunate for me to see Louise Hay of the Harris Foundation who she found it that has Fun Station one of her biggest things to Chief time in her life was helping people who had just contracted HIV during the introduction of HIV you know like the time when we first started seeing it in North America and her work was so amazing because you know she was showing people that you don’t have to be ashamed because you have those you know it’s it was so beautiful to see the kind of counseling work that she did and also in group settings you know which I think Community settings are so amazing support groups incredible whether it’s a physical illness or mental illness you know it’s just it’s one aspect of Tantra thankfully going off path but a little bit but it’s something I think worth mentioning because you know racing life and whatever it brings us is very much a part of town tomorrow like you know one thing one of my teachers Devi Ward had mentioned was once what is the Swift path and what you meant by that was that when you are practicing counselor about your lessons will come very fast and makeup faster than if you weren’t practicing at what times are hard they’re hard and fast and to be able to weather that storm EPPICard of that is understanding this down to Valatie and realizing when things are not going so well when they are going so well there’s like a middle part down the middle of that will help you navigate that right that will help you understand that what are things are Graver things or negative like are there temporary that there’s a Equanimity down the middle which is very spoke about Buddhism the we can maintain and you know true that there is a sort of a pleasure and happiness in obtaining bad right so this is something that comes up a lot in all of the aspects of Tantra I have studied and then when we talk about let’s say for example Neo talks about which is what we really see in North America most we do look at sex and intimacy here a lot and I think that that’s also important because we are living in a society unfortunately that’s still not like I’ve had people say to me how can you say the society sex negative because you know we have nudity available to us not forcing them like wolves. About whether or not it’s available it’s our mentality around it why is it that in Europe I can go to a spa more frequently and be naked and not has my body constantly he looked at sexually you know like my body is my body our bodies are our bodies it’s it’s what we’re born with like it’s not always sexualize thing it’s like I feel like nudity is a Perfectly Natural State for us so you know like I feel like I know and it’s freezing so you know I’m grateful for clothes in many ways and it helps me also you know be creative to lie cuz I think of clothes of something I could be creative with but that’s the same time I don’t see what the big deal is when some of these make it feel like I just I don’t like I think that being naked so beautiful thing and and incorporating that into our life must be so much more amazing like I almost feel like this restraint on sexual freedom is actually a way that is being used in marketing to Market to people when people are unhappy and when they feel uncertain about themselves and they’re not confident they’re so much easier to Market to and I think it just feeds into consumerism that’s my take on that and that’s why she put car driving back to school because well one of the was any of the we’ve talked about social media before I can’t advertise for example my YouTube video I have free content I have completely follow the community standards for YouTube but I’m not allowed on any social media that has a sex educator to advertise no sex educator is maybe unless they have a really good PR firm the recognize let’s say buy a newspaper or liquids in a writing for the newspaper or they have their best selling author you know like unless they are somehow going through certain stereospecific channels they are not allowed because of the keywords they have and I think that’s ridiculous I feel like that you know and I’m sex education Advocate because of the fact that it has people’s lives so we need to have discussions around sexuality and intimacy but at the same time why are these channels being blocked like I think of the full grown adult and knowing that we have the technology to discern between whether you know the child is surfing Facebook or who shouldn’t be because like I think it be 14 or over anyways to have a Facebook account or have your parents sign it either way I like what I’m saying is they know they have a pretty good understanding in a lot of these Arenas of what the age group is the person wants like looking at it and also there’s nothing explicit when I’m advertising you know my work is a sex educator there’s nothing explicit about it when any sex educator is advertising so I really don’t understand why sex educator is a therapy lumped in with my opinion the key words with pornography right like I’m like okay fine I can understand why adults entertainment is Italian for adults and should be advertised the adults but sex addict Mission as it is most of us don’t even get a proper you know level sex education in school some of us have none you know if that man has always been looking for the stuff I think that it should be easier for me to find this information you know or to have at least be some sort of encouragement to go looking for this information cuz they’re so many amazing sex Educators in this on this continent it’s mind-blowing what a great Community we have here you know I’ve worked with I work with a person who is a sex educator in the tundra field and he was I think was one of the first ones that not one of the only ones to get sex ed seemed content up for the one of the affiliate marketing platforms where you can have other people you know your stuff it was such a fight yes it is besides Google AdWords and Facebook ads you know it it’s it’s made me kind of have to think out-of-the-box a bit cuz you know you understanding this feeling this pain Point really and then what was exciting what I wanted to operate a tip to you and anyone else now is that a yeah there’s a decentralized cryptocurrency platform called steam at that is basically a Blog posting video hosting website that you can sign up for and actually get paid in cryptocurrency for your content so when people vote your posts you’re actually getting financial compensation for it and and there’s monetary value is monetizing user content and it’s also based on this thing called the interplanetary file system which is basically like a bit torrent of file sharing so that you can host your website files on there and it can’t be censored it’s Packer resistant and it can’t be for now I’m here making music and painting murals but now is so much more aligned and with more resources and energy directed in a way that is that is just more useful for everybody I hope to continue learning and I feel very thankful to be in connection with the people that you know that I have been meeting the whole crypto art murals is for me away to you know as a writer at hard and as a writer as a trade putting out content in a written way is really useful but it doesn’t reach everybody if you don’t have internet and you don’t know how to read you’re not going to get this information and so painting a mural in a community where the art is available to everybody and you can just stand in front of it and be curious just feel sad feel happy feel whatever it is and ignite your curiosity for your own research that is insanely powerful and I know that because I have cried in front of murals I have taken pictures in front of murals that made me realize something about myself and that is one aspect right off the the the massive big scale Arts that can that can provide a message for an entire community and then the other aspect is supporting these artists you know myself and then everybody else who is he struggling so much to do what they love and they’re so good at it and and disciplining of wealth in the right hands is an opportunity for us to fill up every single block of the changing out for the artist to paint if that’s what they want to do the visual artist want to paint or the artist want to make music or the artist who wants you to create experiences that are interactive and then for the people who are good at managing and just love discovering and helping and connecting to do just that and do not have to do all the other things and for the web developers to develop the west side so I see just amongst my own friends and connections here how much energy and time we’re wasting by not working together and so the more people I meet in the blockchain crypto crypto blockchain connection space the more I want to all of us to do our shows and commercials together because it makes no sense for everybody to be spending their energy resources in building a website if you hate billing website you know like if you want to paint just paint and then we’ll find people to build a website for you and and I’ve encountered a lot of people fear based in this space who are all about competition and want to do their nails and they don’t want anything to do with other brands and then I encourage I mean I’ve encountered so many more people on the collaborative side and that’s where I know a couple that’s where it what I felt that are not a couple, but I felt like ripping psychedelic people were down to connect and they said yes to all the projects and let’s get on a phone call and it doesn’t matter who you are or where you come from if you want to help and it aligns let’s do it you know and that is really refreshing and I think that’s the the Psychedelic for open minded or meditation more expensive way of looking at this movement awesome God you want to talk more about just practicing meditation and what sort of how your your spiritual processes and maybe tips you have for people who are coming into here wanting to participate in this technology space and an actually starting to you know they say the first time you start to have some actual games in your cryptocurrency portfolio than I can say from experience I just want to give my life to the movement because it’s changed my life so much and I want to just be in service but I’m not a coder and I’m not really I’m kind of a wannabe geek so imagine making this cultural Ambassador you know doing that like if we were talking about him in franchising people you have said yes to Justin tips about what it’s like to be adapting to this new I mean you’re providing a platform for people to express themselves and you’re finding people like me who you know I’m nobody in this world and at the same time I very I feel like I’m a very important piece of the puzzle and I haven’t always felt that way my own SoCal you wasn’t where it’s at and I you know I need the others and you need the others and so you already doing so much and I really appreciate you reaching out and wanting to give a voice to people like me who maybe you’re not on the you know I feel like I’m behind the scenes a lot and now you can’t necessarily reach out to to you know I don’t know bigger a larger what it’s called platforms and say Authority terribly I need to speak on this or be on a panel specifically and yet at the same time so many opportunities like this have presented themselves to me like being on humans of Bitcoin or the libertarian Radio free talk live or your show and so many others and so it’s it’s such a beautiful synchronous synchronicity how we all find each other and I’m being hard open to supporting each other and that’s what it’s all about so to me when people ask me what is a blockchain artist what makes you a crypto artist or what how can I get involved in this way if I don’t have any coding skills or if I don’t have any if I don’t feel like a nerd at hard or any or if I don’t have any connection the truth is that most of the people that are even curious about this movement or that believe in Freedom are already a part of this movement you know what I mean and it’s just lack of Education or lack of information and lack of system or container though it’s being created right now and so anything that you care about and if you respect freedom and the evolution of humankind through compassion and love that is blockchain with me and I know it sounds really extreme for some people but it’s really is I mean if your yoga teacher you can download and secure whatever wallet of your choice I love Edge they you know they just upgraded to their shape-shifting converting application which I didn’t have before and I just downloaded it and it’s my favorite wallets I always recommend that you use in a hot while they’re on your phone you can just download something like that in three seconds and all of a sudden your yoga teacher who takes crypto you know what I mean it in Seoul I’m in this is what I do at my my events like that we have the exist festival.com for South by Southwest and is not an official South by event is a disruptive one because even though I love songs by and I painted a giant mural for South by that’s going to be showing at the Expo Center for Austin Rodeo I love what they’re doing so many ways they’ve also turn down quite a few female speakers for the blockchain panel and I don’t know enough about what they’re doing and I’m sure there’s reasons why everybody dusted the things I do but I think it’s important to set up other events are outside of the you know of the gates of South by in the rules and so on so that’s what we do at our events you know we set up a men’s where where we can bring in a bunch of artists who have never heard of a crypto before or who are interested in it and teach him how to download a wallet and then make their sales are there vending whatever they’re running t-shirts and arts and whatever in crypto in there you got like that’s all it takes so when I get on an Uber or Lyft or Rideshare I asked them if they take crypto and they look at me like I’m crazy then I showed them how to download the wallet and then I took them in crypto and when I go to any any local shop or any restaurant I just automatically always ask do you take pepto and they just look at me confused and then they ask and then I tell them and so it’s just word of mouth and that’s it very small way in which and how we can educate each other just ask about it as if it’s part of your normal life because to me and to you it is you know and so the more people we have on the system to better that easier we’re all going to to evolve within this I don’t know if the answer is exactly the question who want to just be ya be a part of the movement and and adapt and actually alter reality one day at a time just with whatever means you have you know yeah that’s exciting is that you know I’ve had I’ve had a similar kind of weather journey of just wanting to onboard friends and just get people excited about it and really the best way to do it is just to get them started with some in just a few or I’m going to split the mule and give you your you know percentage of Crypt or whatever and and that just gets that gets the party started for for anybody and I see why you’re talking I was imagining they’re being a i y bet there’s got to be some art galleries in the world that just give what is QR codes on every piece so in case you don’t want to buy it you can just tip the artist while you’re there be a white of all the art that I’m so like thrilled to behold in my eyes when I go to an art gallery I would go in there with a budget to tip all the all the artist that I thought really blew my mind you know that’s a whole number and thank you for saying that because I seriously have been wanting to make a video on this for so long thank you for reminding me I want I want all the spray paint artist mural is due to get a QR code stencil and so many times that I’ve been moved by a mural and I yeah you can buy it and you can buy a piece by the artist I’m just freaking said man like $1 a hundred people $1 and then you go home and the artist girl out in the world like how insanely amazing about education if nobody told me that I could do better if I wasn’t a part of this movement I would not have either. So yes I think every Gallery should have a key or code next to their pieces for sure and hopefully work making it easier and easier to have these things be more accessible and just like you said you know split a meal and pay in in crypto just like you would do with venmo or PayPal is very easy and another thing that I think is important to mention is that at first when Bitcoin came out in the early adopters now that Bitcoin was more like a Welsh holding system and still now you know it’s people assume that that you have to have a lot of money to get into crypto but I love the people at and dash dash people talked about this a lot and then cash and Litecoin you don’t fast transaction this is a system that I believe in I’m so tired of using Banks and I’m so tired of using Fiat I don’t want it anymore so I don’t actually hold its on a crypto I’m not at a point where my Abundant Life reflects in my in my wallet but I do get to use crypto every day to do my everyday things and every time a little more and so even if you just want to download a wallet and put 10 bucks into either or 10 bucks into like going or Dash or whatever your favorite currency is just put it there and do nothing with it and check it again in a month and see what happens or just how about you don’t have something like $100 and whenever you go do something if they take crypto you can transfer that and just start really small it’s it’s such a mountain of information that I can be very overwhelming I sign up for a steaming a couple a couple weeks ago and I’ve heard about steemit for for those of you who don’t know it’s a platform like it has all these different channels you can blog writing you can put up videos it’s basically a decent realized turn off all the social media that we use today so right now if you comment on YouTube or Facebook or Twitter or Instagram you don’t get paid for your value and reviewing people’s content but on steemit you basically get rewarded for being an active member of the community you get paid for voting for curating and you can receive a lot of steam power and crypto money basically for producing good content that is useful to people and it cannot be tamed innocence other than by the users and the population and so it’s a really amazing system in everyone’s use it for a long time but I was kind of intimidating by it finally I made an account into two and a half weeks to clear which is insane and and I’ve been getting super overwhelmed with learning how to use it and I just try to continue to watch one video day and do little things at a time and in no time I’ll be an expert you know that’s all it takes so just I hope that people don’t get over Round And if you’re curious just continue learning just a little bit at a time you don’t have to be an expert overnight exactly. I’m glad yes team is amazing and probably going to totally crush it on there just is it doing writing published his stuff it’s been specially in the crypto space is people that it’s amazing some of the mounts you can get off of that and it shows you how big data is really extracting so much value from users of platforms and it’s it’s it’s not going to be long before just because it’s free means that you just give them all your data and sign away the property rights and all that stuff is is going to be replaced by this micropayment ecosystems where people can support each other you know value in the content that they consume and and being really well well supported in and I think it’s going to do the asking to do a lot of amazing some of her friends yesterday we were talking about all them you know thousands of jobs disappearing as robots take over and Singularity and all the stuff and at some point in my life I was really concerned about this you know yet where are aliens off drivers truck drivers going to go when we have also if driving cars do you know all the stuff but the answer is blanching all these people will be doing things in blockchain I will be getting paid well for it and it’ll take less time and I mean from the Tim Ferriss 4-Hour Work Week on and everything. Having high developments off technology and be more efficient with our time does not mean that we is not does not need to be scary you know there’s a lot of stuff within fast Evolution that is that is concerning to me specially how fast were developing and growing and how our security initiatives are not all the party yet and I think we’re getting there so there’s a lot of concern of course but anyting however I don’t think that we all really grasp or we’re starting to now how how much we really don’t have to work 90 hours a week or whatever the ridiculous things we do you know that the whole point of this is that micro payments and micro contributions from everybody involved will react what time for us to to be humans to exist to just let me know this is such an interesting new development in the sort of f have that imprint of a techno dystopia since childhood from all the Sci-Fi and I watched it and then you know you imagine this world where humans are made up sleep by robotic technology and Ai and I’ve been pretty sure that those prospects especially now is drones of coming to the picture and now I really feel like it as of this moment this kind of is really the undeniable presence in the now of both of those dystopic seems coming coming nauseous to come to life but coming into existence but then as you’re saying which is actually so Redemptive for sheep the human soul is that like she was an example something might you might have some thoughts on as far as empowerment but it’s like the the sort of this myth of the scarcity of worthwhile productive labor that can be done with from picking up trash to planting trees to cleaning up toxic waste like through the blockchain micropayments and sort of micro temporary employment contracts that can really enfranchise all the homeless people to get a micro crypto payment without actually showing up and waiting in line to get in the welfare program or get into a you know some sort of job placement program you can just be like you know you show up on the there’s some spill like a whip there’s some kind of cleanup has to happen and people can just mop it and and have day labor crypto payments and there will really never be a gap between meaningful work and and fair pay and there’s plenty of wealth in the crypto world alone to finance stuff like that and even if you know whether it’s through a nonprofit system or through taxes done I mean I’m not going to endorse taxes in general but but you kind of know what I’m saying so how do you feel about that you feel like that’s the direction we’re going to go and there are so many projects that have mind-blowing for example the green miners are looking into mining basically with all green energy from turning trash into clean energy so that things like Bitcoin mining don’t have to take resources as we know them now and there are so many projects in the space for cleaning up the oceans and cleaning up the air and I’m bringing food to the right places and replanting trees and replenishing the soil I mean there if you think of any good initiatives going on in the world for every single one of them there is at least one crypto person who is trying to intercept and connect and there are some barriers you know like the the extreme hippies and I don’t mean that in any negative or positive connotation specifically just outside another word to use like the Crypt on earth and the cryptic Crypt of hippies and all these people like hippies like me back in the day when I when I was in Turkish hippie confused and all of this integrating technology and really scared of it I never imagined in my life that I would be here talking about technology I like but at the same time I see like you said you know how directly this has impacted my life I live a better life I can eat better food because I have my bills taken care of more often because I am connecting projects that feed my soul in that feed my pocket and and it’s just it’s just acknowledge he’s not going anywhere so yes hearing drones zooming around in the air concerns me especially there’s no privacy laws about this and I’m sure I am in plenty of videos just public random videos of people have of course all that is concerning to me but at the same time if I can get drones to massively plant trees and water them creating on cleaning water and stain of away and replenishing the Salt Lake of course I want that also so it’s a fine balance you knowing yeah there’s just there’s just so many opportunities and I’m a very hopeful first person you know and Technologies not going anywhere in the craziest disasters are going on in the world are very real and I’m very aware of my privilege and I’m honored for just being able to be a voice and a part of this movement in any way but if you are truly concerned if you’re a person sitting there and you are really really against technology my best advice to you is to get involved you know what I mean just get involved and make sure that our our moral compasses are still true and that our time is being used efficiently because while I think it’s piercing experiencing abundance is a really healing thing for our communities that happen monkey trained into scar City and fear so I think that having lavish parties in exotic places when they are led by the right Compass when we’re doing no trash Left Behind when we’re also feeding and in helping those communities those are beautiful experiences I think also it’s very easy to fall into the you know greedy egotistical side of things and so we can be people on the sidelines criticizing this movement or we can just Dive Dive Right In whichever way feels comfortable to you and try to help from within you know absolutely yeah amazing so do you want to take can you talk a bit about you know obviously not to be tokenizing but I was really thrilled to know that Amanda B Johnson is the spokes person for Dash and they have a sort of a in the dash consensus system they’re they’re holding their whole their whole technological platform on the basis of it there’s money allocated in there sitting there a crypto economic ecosystems to support people in in roles as delegates and Advocates and Educators and I’m I’m wondering if you have some thoughts on connecting with or have you connected with women in crypto and just having more solidarity and more initiatives that are women lead and women find it and having the the voice and the the wisdom of Sisterhood in the crypto space which is is seriously it’s I don’t know I wouldn’t say this that I understand to be hyper sexist or it’s just a typically gender imbalance in technology for various reasons of course and but this is one of the most inviting and open-minded for thinking space is so I’m just curious if you have thoughts understand that aspect I do and I just want to throw in really quickly that Dash is doing some incredible incredible things to use this new currency in the everyday lives of people and changing a lot I mean I spoke with Danny the other day from the Crypt of showing radio station and just some of the projects he shared with me that they’re doing going to orphanage orphanage is camping outside open and to defend that old homes and rebuilding after after earthquakes all of these weren’t the weather doing in Mexico and helping people from the US and for Mexico to send each other Dash instead of Fiat you know making it super useful super accessible for them and actually turning crypto into into resources are they need whether it’s a new fan for their ceiling or food or whatever and so they are doing a lot of work right on the ground and putting you know when ATMs in crypto ATM there just it is amazing to see this dystopian Society for good and bad is already here as completely I mean crypto is already being used in so many daily activities all the time so much more that we know and I know that documentaries are being created and they will be available to all of us soon and every time more but there is so much more happening than we even inside are aware of you know every time I talk with anybody is it blows my mind all the projects are going on in and that this is the Hood part of it is another one and there are all these telegram groups going around some of them are called crypto women badass women in blockchain you know he’s different name there’s this group on Facebook called crypto queens and I have found some amazing amazing humans are working with the UN and women investing in women and funding each other’s projects and the Miami Conference the North America Miami Conference Bitcoin conference I had this one person run up to me this woman and she said hi sister if you’re a woman here I pretty much want to connect with you and she added me to his telegram group and I stole that from her in the best possible way so every time I’m at any blockchain event I run up to the women and I said Hey sister if you’re a woman in the space I want to connect with you and it’s just so beautiful and so I may be 5 or 10 different groups that are all women in blockchain and art projects in blockchain it is it is really unbelievable I’m actually really excited for the South by Southwest there is a bunch of the crypto Queens are coming down we’ve been talking about doing a documentary about women in crypto and I just hope that I get to interview them 10 minutes with each one in super supportive so it’s been quite interesting and of course there is still competition with in here and there but for the most part I find that women are really supportive of each other I also have been working with swarm City and the storm funds quite a bit I meant Joel from Joel Dietz from swarm and we talked about a bunch our projects and all the stuff happening and you express a lot of interest in supporting both blockchain art projects and women equality so I know swarm is now sitting around the survey to try to make sure that there are as many women as men users and their platform that’s really exciting and also so many surveys about how they want the tokens to be used and so on are hungry to include the community that’s what’s Tim Meadows all about right and that’s what these events are all about so I think I think we’re doing pretty good so far and I see how much more collaboration is going to is going to start happening you know just from from these telegram groups and how excited everybody is and and also how cool is that that we have telegram instead all our messages so that the government can hover information are private conversations it’s just it’s amazing we weave I feel sad about the fact that Facebook and all these social media platform orny or Cuban connection you know I honestly have so many thoughts where I say I don’t care if Facebook knows all my information or if they own all my media I just want to be able to share photos of my friends in Argentina and this is the easiest form so how sad is it that we were okay with all of our privacy and information being exploited and people making money off of us just because we’re so starved for human connection so I’m really excited to be able to do the same things we’ve been doing and use the good parts of Technology like social media in a way that it also filled up our pockets and our Spirits you know that is music to my ears thank you so much I’m so glad that I I mean I just just the fact that your video came up right after cryptos news and we’re in this moment have his conversation this is all such beautiful music to my ears and yeah it’s been I mean in my field in the world of Tantra sacred sexuality sexual healing in just the I think the most important thing in my studies in my experience for healing a planet and really saving the Earth is really being instrumental and being conducive to two women Sisterhood and a healthy positive empowering way and actually creating more financial Independence so that women as mothers can have more freedom and power and actual means to make more independent decisions with their bodies with their with their you know how they how much even breastfeeding I mean the most people don’t know that it’s pretty much understood that about 5 years is a typical pre-industrial young length of time to be breastfeeding infants on demand and imagine the kind of infrastructure changes that have to happen for that to be possible in the modern world but if anything’s going to make it happen it’s going to be the fruit of the work that people like you were doing and that’s as you know might just sort of Public Service Announcement about you know a sort of futuristic crypto feminism you know that I said that I want to contribute to I want to see happen is this more and more working together and in collaboration So yeah thank you for helping with that and Centric energy and learning some teachings of something that it’s pretty recent to me maybe two years and there’s so much to learn and I found so much healing and in all of these intersections of psychedelics meditation 10 trick work and crypto and it’s it’s so bizarre and no way to talk about technology and evolution and money in the same line that we talked about psychedelics and in self-healing love and all of this to no life force of energy but it is all the same thing it’s it’s just growing us a more compassionate and accepting loving human race you know that’s what it’s all about and at the same time that I’m really excited about all of these blockchain as a vehicle for 4 change I am really concerned about Wi-Fi and radiation and you know of course all of these a chemtrail crazy stuff that we put ourselves through so I’m putting out the intention into calling for more people to get involved in to figure it out other ways to connect the other internet in a way that it’s not so destructive for us and so there’s not some natural solutions and then there’s simple things we can do like turning off wi-fi at night when you go to sleep and self-education on this on this topic but I would love to hear more like I said Solutions and privacy are are something that we are now noticing that we need to work on more at the same time that we develop all these amazing systems right we need to wear we’re kind of like it’s floating and all this magical ways and now we need to start creating the containers that will keep us a lines into our missions as well yeah absolutely absolutely awesome well yeah I’m getting about 2 or if you’ll just totally mind blown and totally satiated by learning all this stuff all this great stuff that you’re doing do you feel free now to take some time to promote your efforts and talk about we have coming up in the future will people can be looking out for and and yeah we’ll we’ll call it a good introduction to hopefully we can also keep in touch on going up next and that is the exist festival.com that it’s a beautiful project where we are just connecting more and more people doing similar events and hoping that we can continue to collaborate so if anybody’s interested in anything that we’re doing please reach out there’s room for you to be fully creative in your own way and like I said it’s not about competition the abundance is there and in so many ways so that is South by Southwest Austin and then we have Astral Intercourse with a Wrathful Dakini TPP43

Play

wrathful-dakiniThis episode is the third in a series of audio recorded lab reports from some of my deepest, darkest, most revelatory psychedelic goddess worship sessions. While living at a Goddess temple deep in the woodlands of the Pacific Northwest I was guided to combine shamanic magic mushroom ceremony, sacred psytrance music, and tantric Goddess invocation.

I document my first experience of encountering a human projected wrathful dakini in hyperspace. She ravages me, provides a sexual healing, and illuminates the transcendent majesty of the human sexual anatomy.
