Permaculture Eco-Warriors Establish The Moshram Part 2 TPP281

Play

In this episode I’m joined by MC Mycopath for a two part series on the past, present, and future of his personal permaculture journey and the establishment of The Moshram

My Non Verbatim Show Notes

MM:

10 years doing landscape consultations, small scale urban repurposing of people’s front and back yards, more hip with local, everything that’s taking place, microbio in soil, plants that co-mingle,

also consulting folks with health

certifications achieved through multiple biochemists

learned that the more fresh foods that we consume, the healthier our cells are

the body that takes us around here

with that, understanding and passion for that, I really wanted to be able to provide highest quality product of food for myself and others, coupled with education

spin farming, brother and I spin farming, didn’t necessarily bring in permaculture

added permaculture principle layer to spin farming

densely growing high value crops in small area

regenerate the living systems

help maintain my living system, at a cellular level, also at a financial and social level

been about 5 years, that I’ve been on this site, had multiple sites over the years

site, least likelihood of it being taken from underneath my feet, all apart of journey

seeing successes and failures in past projects

led me to finding this space

it was through a friend, that was aware that I was looking to scale up

spin farming in brothers back yard, with brother

then when on to slightly expanding at space I was at

really like to bring it all to one location and just do this

generally around vegetable crops

annuals predominantly

put in a layer of perennial crops

also longer term species, fruit trees

learned fascinating things about fruit

fruit tree requires least amount of water over long time period

gives back a lot to soil

soil is really just millions or billions of living organisms

eating pooping, dying, whole things perpetuating

through roots and leaves, branches, fruits, they drop all feeding system

year in year out

bring together this whole concept

put it at a term, silvopasture

rows of fruit trees, or some type of tree

aid in creating shade

aid in slowing down wind

not requiring a lot of water, relative to other annual crops

in between rows, would grow annual crops

maybe these annual crops are things just to regenerate soil

rotational crop, in between lettuce, grow vetch, cow pea, to reinvigorate the soil from what was depleted from what was the previous crop you cultivated

what we set out to do here

very densely packed rows of vegetable crops to sell at market and too individuals through CSA type program

longer term species of varying fruit trees

simply move forward upon goals of project, something that’s always an unknown, fortunately and unfortunately, that collaborative team of 3 individuals broke down

mediator, wasn’t sustainable, they didn’t vibe well, both wanting to walk away which they did

I was not very interested in walking away from another project, having it swept out from under me, again ,because these two egos weren’t collaborating

move post differences

differences got in the way

I wasn’t feeling, stepping away from all of the work we had done from contouring the land, to bringing in so much organic matter, infusing bacterium, all sorts of soil microbiology

perennial fruit trees, you have to wait some time, 3-5 years minimum to reap harvest

I didn’t have it in me to just be like you guys aren’t into, either am I, I am into it

don’t just want to do it here, want to perpetuate this stamp, different biomes

so cal region, mediteranean biome, only about 7 med, climates on the planet, tend to be the most lucrative for humans to co-exist with surroundings, temperatures, food crops, wild and domesticated

love to see what it’s like in other bioregions as well, other climatic elements

we’ve got going on what we have here

you came forward saying how interested you were in helping perpetuate this project, it was like the clouds parted

working on this site, we’re on 10s of acres, just working out a little over an acre, just maintenance alone for one person is daunting to say the least

just because we put together a holistic system doesn’t mean there’s no more work

actually perpetual, no end to amount of work, just in pruning things, cultivating

easy to plant seed, easy to harvest, cultivation in between, I don’t know if it’s gonna survive or not, I’ll do everything I can

lot of energy mental, physical, spiritual

one dude, isn’t gonna hold the world on his back man, either are two

TP: makes me think I’m gonna use another term for defining permaculture and call it ecological parenthood

caring for something to maturity

young families go through it, terrible twos, fighting, health similar thing

tree system here, adolescent,

MM: not as easy as dealing with child, can’t teach a tree how to fight off a squirrel, they’re bullies

TP: the timeliness of this, synchronicities will be unveiled later

rick straussman, first actual government sanctioned psychedelic research studies since the 70s, gap of 20 years

spirit molecule, interviewed,

recently, basically saying, people would ask did he take DMT,

he would give a vague answer or plausible deniability

eventually recently came out, admitted, yeah, I was doing it

I’m like fuck yeah, I wanted to hear that for so many years, scientist had the balls to do what he was talking about

ties back together, something he said, meta level life philosophy

you know, back then I had my whole career ahead of me still, a lot to lose, judged, critique, older, less of my life left, that’s much less life to lose

we’re at a point where I don’t want to piss off the wrong people, I don’t want to be a target, wait til we have resilience before we have grand opening at this site

eventually will ripened, eventually forced by demand, people will need it

sweet spot in time, security measures, support we need, capital, be in place for the time we want to open the gates

get to that point when, we did the thing, not much left to lose, tell the story, give real names, not give a fuck

certain things now, I feel like, at least statute of limitations has run out on some things, one metric

that feeling, we’ll get to a point where we don’t have that much to lose

my side of story of having fallen in love with this site, toured project in the past, wishing I could be more connected, occasion to visit

definitely feel like it was one of the most epic works in progress of so cal permaculture

ability to do it right

social permaculture dynamics of human sector, zones of humans, sector of humans, human elements, could have most beautiful property, dynamics surrounding neighbors be your worst enemy, false starts,

time energy, blood, blisters, heart ache, amount of effort that goes into permaculture project, somebody that’s they’re mission, to have that be continually ripped out in front of you

people don’t even see it

persecution of religious sects, we are the lost tribe of permies, that are constantly being haranged by neighbors

adapted us also to travel light in our personal empires

positive side effect of lifestyle of ecological romance

nudge nature to create symphonies of seed and soil

less hindered

student of Tyler Durgen, waking up after car crash with Edward Norton, the world I see, laying out strips of vennisen

hunter gathers, thriving on the carcass of industrial collapse

utopian anarchoprimitivists, intellectual elite, from eugene, green anarchist, wanna be poser,

not everybody was a poser, the heads that were the elitist, very hyper intellectual, authors and writers, wind bags, had all this talk

in eugene the founder of food not lawns, we’d go there talk bs about living primitive, blessing her with presence of our lofty conversations, decades later we don’t have our food forest, we don’t have fruit trees maturing, resentment, burnt bridges

super extra appreciate hard work that’s been done

this site, work you’ve done, huge grace, a pass, I could and should very well be punished for how far I’ve strayed from the path of planting trees, defending them, standing by them, storms, storming off of partners and lovers, mission and duty to make a stand

there’s a lot of times I’ve said this is not the hill I’m gonna die on, and this is the first time I can actually say this is a high that I would die on, for a lot of reasons, biggest gift to me, is to know

who is tantra punk, wacko jerk off wanna be tyler durgen alter ego, that split off from psychedelic ceremonies that got botched, and now this floating soul part of my old wounded self, has created this internet porn star wanna be freak, don’t have much ecological, I have bastard children trees, all over the place, to be able to be like

while you were out there, doing this thing, that could have got you in trouble, some what of an adventure, fool hardy, never would have expected that I could just cheat that time that I walked away from the permaculture path, did this freaky stuff

hey ben, dinners ready, fruit falling from trees, I just get to get back into the zone, almost 10 years since I was in deep coastal mountain broad acre permaculture, doing the trees, doing the systems right, the scale, the soil

waltz into this at a point you’d be beleagured, bromance novel cover if there ever was one

thanks to the designer of designers, tip had lift glass to him

be great to go into the shark tank part of this, now the reinforcements in the form of me and my humble but growing financial capital I can put in to keep things afloat, elbow grease, sweat equity

optimizing dance of mutuality, with responsibilities, rights, tasks, finances, between the two of us

alchemy we’re doing, the renaissance of this project, bring into 2.0 era

trajectory of , drawing from the permies community, paul wheaton, survival podcast, larry santoyo, different instructors we’ve had

business model for the site, the rebel farmers like sepp holzer, austria, kramaterohoff, epic contour narrow ponds support subtropical microclimates, high elevation fruit trees

so abundant, epic, done epic shit, considered to be the ultimate rock star, don’t think any other place on earth, other mature permculture projects, the profitability and scale and grandeur, I don’t know what I would compare to the kramaterhoff on earth

wonders of the world of permaculture tour, walk through it sometime

business model, everything else in agriculture sector, globalized race to the bottom, poison, toxic

convince people to want to buy american, niche for premium products, usually sick people who can afford to take your advice

don’t want to give crutch of supplying, want to teach them to do it themselves, leverage their acreage, their community

the idea of farming to enable other people to not be horticulturalists, shift from that as soon as possible

paradigm, living the dream, market gardeners, the biproduct of creating plenty of best varieties of food we’d like to eat, we’ll have excess, and with that excess we can play god to an extent in the economy because of how much of ecological ninjas we are

rather than try to package it all in plastic, get it in all the stores, scale it to the world

we make a more dense local economy out of it, healing center, learning center, teaching them how to fish, not selling them a fish per se

in my crude nut shell of a pitch, that’s the trajectory we’ve been most in agreement about

if somebody had infinite budget to invest, why should they buy into this as working co-op member, or non-working co-op member, how can people benefit from helping us

MM: few dudely dudes, I’ve met could really have no care to well being of nature around them, small minority of people I’ve spoken with of time on this path, over 20 years

experience with biodiesel co-op, very localized project, I would do education to engineering firms, groups

education at earth day festivals, people contribue, become non-working members of biodiesel co-op because they like what’s going on, think it’s a good direction

if anybody has capital, monetary, social, spiritual, any of the 8 forms of capital, that they are willing to share to perpetuate, the direction of this project

this may sound overzealous, I couldn’t think of a better project, or more dedicated individuals to invest that capital in

it’s one of those put your money where your mouth is

my clients in landscaping and in the health regeneration, many of them, actually buy into what I have to share, because of how I’m living my life

I’m not just using words, I’m hands in the soil, I’m doing everything I can at every corner

from what I know of you, been a crucial part of so many projects, that at one point or another it wasn’t your jive anymore for whatever reason

here we are find ourselves together on a mountain we’re will to die on

and it takes a community always

for anyone that would like to be a part of this community and see it perpetuate

be able to visit the site

local,

to benefit from the harvests of all of this, where else are you gonna put your money, time, energy, love

I’m not sure

it’s like you said man, this is one of the rare sites of southern california, any and all help, helps perpetuate a holistic project, working towards the great good of the local and world community when it comes down to it

held a lot of retreats, get people from all over the world, host in tropics, pretty good centralized area, highly abundance

ripe things to eat, throughout the year

amount of people that congregate, so diverse, so incredible, have a lot to share

at this point we have a site that any and all people interested have the ability to share

before it’s all been other people’s sites, very temporary, the time that gets spent there

long term expanded version of those experiences, and “retreats”

where else are you gonna put your resources, if you want to see great things happen, cause that’s all we’re really into

passionate

tend to only roll with those who are equally passionate about making this place a better place to be

agenda 21,

different concept of human settlement zones, from what we’re working towards here

TP: yes

to say the most and the least, that says it all, what could I add to that

nuts and bolts of this business modeling, goes back to legacy of my parents at some point will read the manifesto my father wrote for member based, for-profit nonprofit, fruit based operation, deep in heart of washington state apple orchard lands, building a massively, dense, intensive educational commercial project, rusticness, design constraint, make all tools, tools to make tools, melting down old cars, human powered, they were one of the first and most highly respected, wasn’t hippie commune, very studious, technical, published technical manual, subscribers to periodical, whether they purchased wares or we students, subscribe to catalog, kind of like micro version of mother earth news

department of making you said, interviewed mom, years ago, maybe now the time, one of those things you never know when it’s appropriate, get people on podcast, get perspectives, state of world, might be our last conversation, could go for anybody, did great interview with mom about 10 years ago, transapocalyptic, utopian for her, fruit doesn’t fall far from the tree

hard dharma, karmic seeds of melt down of family, trauma, wasted years, trouble, lot of years to get on the course that fell apart

a lot of people, children of the hippies

there’s something magical about the fact that here we are kind of at the age our parents were, as a generation, hippie, back to the land 2.0, we had woodstock, the rainbow gathering spawned from that, what are children of hippie’s doing now, actually fulfilling some of those dreams

we have now psychedelic shamanism, and not just acid, the electric kool aid test, these people went back to the land, no shamanic oversight, no elders,

even Geoff Lawton jokes, sad joke, comic tragedy, I wonder how many communes failed because they didn’t understand proper solar orientation, they bought land on north facing slopes, gave themselves an uphill battle on steep slopes facing the shadow of the sun, don’t even know why they melted down

permaculture,

we can learn from a lot of those mistakes, well positioned to demonstrate, and proudly display the next generation of the back to the land movement again at a time my mother talked about in the podcast

people went back to the land at the peak of the OPEC oil crisis in early 1970s

it wasn’t 1969 and summer of love, melt down of haight ashbury into tweaker rape culture madness,

they didn’t go directly from peak of 60s to back to the land, survivalist, apocalyptic thing, cities going to evaporate and collapse, economy gonna collapse, have to head to hills and start building a future

but brought in patriarchy, monoculture, only little bits of eastern mysticism

wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for that

now, okay, this is for me the most pure and karmically cleansed and most righteous set of circumstances to do your thing

are you really these eco artisans the whole world should pay attention to, or destined to fail

may not be the last place I ever work on

do world tour of biomes

if you take permaculture design course you want to be like a army ranger, navy seal, eco macguevery, swiss army knife, want to be deployed in every climate

because you know how to do things like harvest snow melt for nursery underground

be a bad ass shit, being a bad ass eco warrior with all this knowledge

do what special forces and green berets, what if all the engineering and money and investing and capital, everything that went into napalm and agent orange, if instead of destroying ecology, all that cultural engineering of warfare, went into actually creating a more resilient opposition through permaculture

tactical permaculture, make it impossible for them to put land mines in territory you want to defend, created thorny trellising, motes, father in military

being a bad ass, be tactical, have a reason to train, not mma, good for them but

wanna have something I love that’s worthy of defending that would keep me in shape just by working it, origins of kung fu and farming

bit of a tirade from me

MM:

I really like how you brought up that the fruit does not fall far from the tree, parents

definitely feel, that’s a thing that goes on in nature, we’re a part of it

we’re carbon copies of these people we call our parents

we emulate them in so many ways, because of the signature for which they gave us, dna

as father was one of most brilliant men I’ve ever met in my life

I would come forward to father with things I’ve learned, he would share how could he thought it was, what it made him think about

prior too, a little apprehensive, most brilliant man, hey check this out, not knowing what kind of feedback, always positive re-enforcement

honoring that we can do as individuals in relationship to our ancestors, that can be very important for mental scape, how we conductor ourselves in our lives

bro, sounds like a spitting image of your dna tree

I would imagine your mother and father had some similar thing for them

fruit doesn’t fall far from the tree

TP: I should shout out thank you to your father, have to name the library after him

lots of bro time to catch up on, and create that space where we can, aya ceremonies, 2 or 3 generations in one ceremony of family members, pretty epic

we’re healing ourselves, healing each other, healing the masculine, and creating a safe and welcoming space for the feminine to be free to be fully expressed

said before no offense, I kinda feel like, well it goes back to waynes world, fully functional babe layer, you can design for the woman in you, and the woman you want on you, save 9th form of capital for another episode

not a monastery, not womanizers either, between monastery and rapey womanizer cult, we’re probably somewhere in the middle

we need our other ethical brothers to step up, we have some healing to do in our tribe of permaculture, takes a lot of those talks about our fathers and what they did and didn’t teach us

so, that conversation is an open forum, its fun to shoot guns and practice your kicks and punches, equally important to break down and let yourself be, pummelled and tenderized by letting go of trauma, letting brother hood energy find those deep wounds and fractures, more energy buried we could be apply to our tree parenthood, soil parenthood, aquaculture parenthood, seed parenthood

MM:

along those lines of the multigenerations of lineage through psychedelic experience, its always bewildered me, with my psychedelic experiences with mushrooms, everytime I sense my grandfather,at first really weird thing, now a presence I’m aware of, hear and feel mutterings, only knew for short period of my life

at this point it’s very interesting, grandfather said, you’re back, maybe I’m back, it’s nice to be with you

thanks for helping to perpetuate my father,

what can I do for us

great thing

TP: it’s like working for a company, at office chair, every once in a while the owner comes in, the day the owner comes in, checking it out, what’s your name, trippy, ancestor worship is a thing

use it or lose it

I feel in this life, pretty damn abandoned by ancestors, been torn asunder to depths of hell such that ancestors have been blocked off by dark armies of hell, demons, but we’re gonna compost the shit out of them, find that the spirit guides were always there, they were just blocked, we didn’t make it easy for them to get back to us

of all the times I’ve felt I don’t know if I belong here, don’t know what I should be doing here, try to destroy ego, never lasts, very few times and place where I feel there is pure righteousness

liberate this land from all the plastic, multigenerational journey

dance with past and future, toxic gick, pure nature, spirits definitely guiding us

applauding efforts, works cut out for you, each one teach one, clean it up, scale it out

microcosm of what has to be done for the whole planet, on every planet

MM: not controlled by forces that think they’re higher

TP: decentralized, mycopathic, path of mycology

talk about martial arts, personal development, brother hood, men’s group experience that we’re working on and developing synthesis of spiritual, self defense, fitness through working the land, grace of being connected to your yin, notion of not just another wet noodle retreat center, traipsing around in loosest clothing, look at me I look like I just jumped out of a Rambo set, and yet I’m spiritual, dancing, smelling flowers, appreciating all the rainbows, but I can also do some ninja rolls, lift some heavy shit, drag some shit around, and do what’s gotta be done, ideal of a shaolin temple, double dragon fruit

playing up this idea, thinking about, if I was a kid, in the peak of my GI Joe fan boyness I would love to be shooting airsoft guns, tactical training with seed shot pellets, was nature boy, played in nature

how much fun families can be having, applying energy going into videos or going into being a boxer, mma fighter

masculine energy, protection, defense, epic garden project, for masculine energy to balance itself and exhaust itself, place for healthy catharsis, healthy relationships, families, we can both speak to

will be legacy to leave behind, a martial, permaculture, ecological, new martial culture as well, no surprise, or coincidence that we both, been blessed by profound journey’s into what other brutish me respect, not just purple breathers, also to some degree bad asses

love to hear you talk about, the spirit of the dragon fruit that animates you and your kung fu gardening techniques

MM:

made reference to that hippie thing, an elder at one of the rainbow gatherings I was sitting with , great acronym, term hippie, happy intelligent person, pursuing infinite excellence

never my thinking when it came to hippies, people that smelled bad, sat around got high and kept sitting around

just talking isn’t accomplishing,

pursuing infinite excellence, taking it to another level, punk rock perspective

you are a hippie, you smell like scum, I’m your worst enemy, a middle class street punk

and I always resonated with that, really nice to get that different perspective of what hippie could be

greater mobility in body, sought out chi gong master, chinese yoga for lack of better terms

not just stretching

entire philosophy, after about a year of training, sifu said, training is great, very yin, balance out with kung fu, more yang,

open to this, cool

always wanted, wanted to have military training for various reasons it wasn’t something that happened, along same line of hippie

kung fu, nearly synonymous, life mastery

mastering whatever life is for me, to me

level of giving back that comes from all of that

began training kung fu

4-5 days a week sometimes 2 sessions a day, my body started to really get in tune with motions, weapons training, when we think back to the shaolin, where kung fu started

these were farmers, weapons were their farm tools, really started to come through as my body got accustomed to movements, started using these implements in the farm, body now knew how to use them in a more appropriate way

ergonomics

rake or hoe, swing it out with arms, shoulders, and back, or put it out there and move hips back and forth, all power in your hips

spirals up through feet, hips, outward

utilizing that technique with farm tools

new relationship with tools and how to work with land and my body, all in same go

weeding, clearing debris, chopping things down, practicing kung fu

martial arts/life mastery

mastering far more of my body, tools, and tools that work with land

symbiosis, something that we can all benefit to apply in our lives, in any way shape or form

not everybody’s gonna go be a farmer

maybe you’re pushing a vacuum

you can cause strain or you can no cause strain to body, which then causes strain or not on the body, perpetuates through spirit

something that I’m still evolving into I feel like but its very empowering

self reliance

being able to provide for yourself, doesn’t just mean growing food, having land, also means self defense

never know where you’re gonna find yourself

bring those things into all of those life practices, another science that fills one of those holes in that permaculture raft we get pushed out into the water

brings it all back around, self feeding, self perpetuating

mentally physically and spiritually

TP:

brings us full circle

pleasant meanderings, through path of this convo, summary of most of our various contexts, working or grubbin on fruit, whatever it is, comings and goings, as we’ve been carving out this niche for ourselves

always reminds me of the movie that got me first enchanted with martial arts, van damme, blood sport

here we are, tactical permaculture moment going back to deepest roots of romance with nature and martial arts

ninjitsu master, frank dux, he was talking to parents, european parents of young frank dux, depicted to be wine farmers, vineyard, meeting of parents

train with japanese ninjitsu master

frank told me you grow vines, boys like vines need training, martial science brings mind, body, spirit together

we’re fulfilling that prophesy

we’re dudes,

point about military, I mentioned this not too long ago, in jest, valid point

hey america, if you would have given me a real war, or real cause to fight for, I would have served on the front lines, it’s been nothing but bullshit, you don’t get to have this body/mind

don’t give traumatic brain injury, lead poisoning, blow my limbs off, make me unable to sustain a relationship, cut my VA benefits for using cannabis

you don’t get any of that shit, not in this lifetime, maybe that could change, who knows what battles will need to be fought

the joke I made, we’re not we’re not less of bad asses that we didn’t get military training, we’re actually more, if we can be, without having the training of those instructors, and we can train our damn selves, read same manuals, same marksmanship, survival training, mindset of discipline, selection

break you down

I was my own drill segerant, life circumstances carved my ass from cookie dough to wood

health, wellness, survival, comes from putting skin in the game

better to have warrior in garden than gardener in war,

debilitating malformed meme of utopian pacifism

idea that we all need to be genderless, a mush of micro trauma egg shell walking, I’m a man, I embrace that, I don’t need impose, I embrace and love and support cherish diversity, space for everyone

phrase, vin armani brought to attention:

seed conversations of what I’d like to call and have been implementing

permaculture training experience for tactically minded, some of the best training, with hardcore lesbian women, guns and ammo, blades, bows and arrows plaster their walls instead of boy band posters, those are my best friends

ongoing thing that, I want to be the guy that the butch warrior lesbians like to play with on a full moon when they feel like, interesting romance, another story

have to cover my ass and say it’s not hyper masculine, toxic masculine militia

who wants to be securing the perimeter, that’s what we need first, can’t have whole tribe or family unless we can defend them

call to action, strong willed, strong minded, disciplined, people who want to be bangin sticks as they say in pekiti tirsia kali training, continual life long conditioning and training, being a warrior , really mean something for good cause

quote: michael hopf, those who remain,

hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, weak men create hard times,

put that in your pipe and smoke it

enough from me

over and out, roger

thank you again

MM: honor brother, insightful, exciting having this conversation, whoever you are out there listening, hope you were able to glean something from it

summary, I feel like, initially I’d stated how going back to permaculture, can be applied to anything that you do, require taking a permaculture design course with instructor you’d like to learn from, and personality types are thing

I have studied a lot of things in my short time here, does always come back to the principles of permaculture

when I educate others on health, they don’t know it but they’re getting a quick permaculture design course for the body

utilizing all these principles around the landscape we call our bodies

a bunch of cells living together

body, gardening cells, out there gardening soil conditions to provide foods for our cells to utilize

its one of the most valuable trainings that I’ve ever had in my life,

people that also take these course, share similar sentiment

that’s about it

end this with as mc mycopath

end a lot of health lectures with a rap, haven’t done this one in a while, see how it goes

TP: gotta get that out in the drum circle, put some beats on that, hippie drum beats on that

more to come

this conversation is to be continued, next, while we’re still tying up lose ends, give audio tour of integrated systems and logic of design of systems, address

situational report, what we’ve got going what we need help with, if people have time or resources or expertise, what’s been established what’s being established, hearing a bit about what we’re processing, actual road map of what we’re doing, laid out the backstory

of what could be an epic opportunity for ourselves

all sliding scales of wealth, we’re providing

free offerings online, all kinds of content, you’ll be whippin up a podcast, holding the camera for each other to do a lot of the teaching we want to

following up with some a/v content

be comin at cha again soon

big love to you and to all the forces seen and unseen that made it possible to be at this point

Warrior Tantra Pic

Introduction to Warrior Tantra and Sexual Self-Defense TPP250

Play

In this episode I share the original Warrior Tantra introduction lecture from early 2017

My Non Verbatim Show Notes

Our relationship to violence is highly distorted, very unrealistic, we have the horrors of the battlefield in military conflicts throughout the world

secret hidden violence of fathers abuse children and spouses

violence in cartoon, video games

is a such a thing as healthy or sacred violence, expressed in martial arts around the world,

principles and ethics of defensive fighting, to defend self, land, family, way of life, community, is tempered with a feminine wisdom

the ideal for all militarys nation states, who have at least paid lip service to the idea that we’re not trying to be barbaric, colonize, conquer, might is right, warlord organized violence to build empires, supposedly in the modern world we’ve evolved past that ideology

beautiful martial arts systems, at their core essence pushing forward that ethic, appropriate violence, sacred violence, not be abused for one’s own self gain

most spiritual traditions, discipline, being a warrior is different from being a soldier, being a defender of a culture, of your people, hoping will evolve to all people and all life

to be a spiritual warrior is to overcome racism, sexism, homophobia, borders and boxes, unnecessary antagony between lifestyles, regions, histories

many of the would be warriors, who have been trained to be soldiers now are fighting battles that are rooted in old paradigms of thinking where there was much less expansion of consciousness around love and acceptance and compassion, this is all the great spiritual battle that’s taking place all over the globe, for 1000s of years, impulse to create peaceful harmonious regenerative communities that are not expansionist, striving to maintain ecological balance, and the cultures using violence to conquer, colonize, take land by force, rape and pillage

the call to action for this brand, a lifestyle, an upgrade to both being a martial artists and being a tantrika to be practicing warrior tantra,

I’m hear to open up a discourse to merge sacred sexuality with sacred violence, I’m not a guru, I’m not going to have all the answers for everyone on their individual path

but what I will do with my training and my knowledge is to create a space where we acknowledge that the dimensions of combat and warfare are beyond our physical bodies

it goes into our emotional space, our intellectual space, our sexual space, many dimensions where we can be attacked so it is only reasonable, logical, sensible, to develop defensive tactics in all areas of our life

violation is very complex, and we can be violated through sound waves going into our ears, from light beams going into our eyes, wounds from physical violence that heal faster and more complete than wounds from sexual violence, it’s a continuum, and there’s multi dimensions

what you may or may not find in a martial arts studio or training system would be some of the more spiritual components that you would find in tantra or sacred sexuality where you’re creating boundaries and owning your space, on multi dimensional levels and mastering arts for self preservation and protection, in multiple dimensions of your being

there are places where you can go and learn how to be a better lover, be a master of your inner emotional state, spiritual trainings and traditions, sexual mastery wisdom traditions, and there are places where you can study the arts of defending the body, using weapons, blades, sticks, firearms, your own bodies natural weapons, in the original what I would say is the roots of tantra, these two, now polarized, are you a lover or a fighter, in the early days you were both, people were less dependent on military, state, government, police force, systems, people had to defend themselves and their community on a daily basis and it was really all down to earth

the arts of loving, the arts of fighting, all very deeply intertwined, every person was included in some of the earliest forms of martial arts training, this is what I believe we can restore is a very localized systems for teaching sacred sexuality and teaching self defense and martial arts, bringing it all together

self love self esteem, really the core of it all

it’s a positive feedback loop, a positive upward spiral of self love, conditioning your connection to the divine loving yourself more and more, having the physical confidence of training so that you can defend yourself in all kinds of battlefields, seen and unseen

defend your sacred self love and your integrity, bodily integrity, sexual integrity

the sanctity of the boundaries of your body image itself, we’re being attacked in so many ways, always attempting from billboards to boyfriends, to girlfriends to all the kinds of porn, you can develop a sense that these negative assaults on your divine self loving sense of perfection as you are, they’re attacking and corroding that inner essence of self acceptance and love and beauty

you could be a really good mma fighter or boxer or combat soldier and still have a brokenness inside that makes you susceptible to false leaders and fighting for the wrong reasons, its really an opportunity to balance those aspects and build a foundation of deep powerful, timeless eternal self love that will radiate a defensive field around you

through physical combative training and physical conditioning, combined with the spiritual, emotional, sexual defensive training and conditioning I can speak from experience I’ve had to defend myself in mortal combat scenarios, I had to fight for my life when I lived on the street, there were times, other compromised circumstance, I can speak from that experience of being a warrior on the street, and also as a survivor of abuse I’ve had to

escape kidnappings, escape from arrests when I was sometimes an outlaw, I’m here to help people avert those catastrophes

you should never have to defend your body from a lethal attack, and you should never have to defend your body from a sexual attack, I’ve done both, I’ve survived both and sometimes in the same context

we live in threatening world

if we have system of self defense that evolves and understands that new threats are emerging everyday, the martial arts systems that were developed 100s if not 1000s of years ago

in some of the tantric scriptures it was very explicitly warned that we were approaching a time where the threats of sexual violation by men are going to increase, by horrific, on a mass scale

the corruptibility of male sexuality by in very clear terms, its a state of possession

whatever scientific faith you wna tto have about whether or not the demonic realm and demonic entities and species are real or not real, that’s optional

I’m not going to impose any belief system around where these forms of sexual violence are coming from, but it’s just a matter of doing a bit of research on the data, that we are in a world that is more threatening to women and children than ever, on a mass scale

the most intrusive vector of these patterns of violence, it was television, now its the internet, its the effect of high speed internet pornography, is the bleeding edge of what in the hindu tantric scriptures, the sort of prophecies about this time, they didn’t predict the internet, the development of photography, cameras, films, but I dare say they would not be surprised that the intentions of the entities that they had been in combat with spiritually, that they wrote great epic scriptures and mythologies about, the need to have a spiritual warrior practice to defend against the entities that are hell bent on making hell on earth mainly through every form of violation imaginable

they are understood to be very creative, and merciless

and you see that in the porn that people are addicted to, that young boys are being initiated into as their default sexual education

it’s a very horrific, systematic, fracturing corruption of male sexuality, and the stats on abuse are just staggering

its propagating and spreading like a virus

the need for women and children to be trained in practical self defense and I say more importantly in practical self defense than in martial arts systems that were designed for a different era

they came from a different place and different time where the the threats were different

so my point is to say that, new adaptations of the martial sciences have got to be designed to meet the threats of the modern era

the idea that we were gonna be inundated with demons, hell on earth, infecting men, women have to take up arms to defend themselves and their children against these men, I call them rape zombies

the horror stories I hear from just people in the dating world, something is off, the men seem to be glazed over, hollowed out, and the shit that comes out of their mouth

and the acts they attempt to conduct in the bedroom, the psychology of date rape

that’s where we’re dealing with, these hollowed out shells of young men, and old men, who, in the tantric terminology, their heart chakras have been shut down in encrusted, not just blocked, but actually strategically infested and debilitated, by real trans-dimensional biological entities that are not necessarily transmitting through the tv set, this the great leap, until we have the science to prove it

you can compare my statements to your own personal experience, talk to women who’ve been abused, anyone who’s a survivor, who’s had to stare down that hollow, unloving, uncompassionate, manipulative, psychopathic, sociopathic, gaze of a predator

anyone who’s had that experience will most likely help people who haven’t had that experience, and help the perpetrators of these crimes understand that they have been hacked

whether from watching porn, or watching violent movies, or watching violence going on around them, its not that the demons jump through the television set, or through the screen from porn, it’s that we’re all vibration, we’re all frequency and vibration, in the unseen surrounds of our physical environment, physical body, potentially infinite overlapping dimensions where non human intelligent entities are always attempting to take up space in our energy field, thereby become parasites, and extract our energy in order to feed themselves and their families, live in their parellel dimension, sucking our energy from us, and I don’t like to use the words holy and unholy, but in order to be a defender of your body temple, and effectively protect those who are most at risk of sexual violation

there are skills and art forms designed by the tantrics 1000s of years ago to buffer those influences from the underworld, if you want to use a classic shamanic term

although its not technically below us, its not below the floor, it’s not down there per se, we’re in a soup of beings all around us at all times

if we engage in practices of self purification then we become less susceptible to the penetration and influence of all different types of being that are just swimming around us on or in the astral plane

the tactics of self defense, if in order to defend yourself you had to understand at all times there are intelligent parasitic entities floating around all of us, there are places where their ability to perforate and puncture our auric field our energetic shield, that’s around our body, it can be trained and conditioned and developed to be less penetrable

obviously if you just do an experiment and go down to the local dive singles bar, and you do some practices of meditation to attune yourself to your own energy field, you can start to sense attacks from people’s eyes, from people’s words, from billboards, messages all around you, its more than meets the eye

what’s happening is when you react to people places and things around you you consciously or unconsciously shift your vibration in that shifting of vibration you are then potentially susceptible to these attacks

they always say, dress warm in winter because you’ll catch a cold, it’s not actually that your temperature will give you the cold, its that the cold viruses are all over you and all over the place everywhere and your immune system, when it’s not compromised by your body being cold, it has the power to just continually fight off all those attacks, and you don’t even know it you’re just happy and healthy and you’re not sick you don’t have a cold, but the cold viruses are all over you, and what it is that protects you is the health of your immune system

if you drink alcohol, your immune system is being debilitated by your drunkenness

the point is that to walk through this world as a spiritual sexual warrior you have got to own and love your space and develop that fine tuned awareness of what causes you to compromise your sexual spiritual auric immune system

if you have a strong sense of purpose and you have a strong connection to the earth and to the divine, however you structure that from whatever tradition, you will become practically immune to all forms of attack, most forms of attack occur when your energy is skewed

a lot of women who get repeatedly raped and end up in repeated abusive relationships, when they’re questioned and speak honestly about these patterns, there’s a really sort of self destructive, self sabotaging urge to just be put out of the misery of existence, and so just falling into every trap, falling into ever more cascading emotional, physical, sexual violence its heart break to watch those patterns unfold for people

you can’t just put a gun in their hands, or even just teaching them physical combatives, although when a woman shoots a fire arm, something magical happens, that’s goddesses’ honest truth, there is a beauty in that experience of for the first time and I speak as a survivor, the first time being able to feel like, wow, there is a range of defensiblity of my body temple that doesn’t depend on my physical size, it’s the great equalizer

this program of training, is going to address all of these ranges of attack, classically in martial arts you have close range, mid range, far range different words in different systems, for example if someone’s approaching you, a side kick to the knee is what Bruce Lee would say, the longest weapon to the nearest target, you wouldn’t wait to elbow them, appropriate distance would be throwing out that kick

a billboard is one form of attack, a billboard presents a body image that is an unrealistic ideal that would require plastic surgery, enhancements, or reduction or whatever, hyper representation of physiques, just not representative of average people, that’s a form of an attack

on all genders, all genders are kept in this constant inner battle of whether they’re going to be loved based on how their body looks, and whether they’re going to be successful in world of power and money and wealth based on how symmetrical their facial features are, what their voice sounds like, things that are superficial, its difficult for most people to measure up to those so called standards

to be a warrior against being punched in the gut by the site of somebody you think is more attractive than you, to be set off course and out of balance, its an attack that will leave you open and then susceptible

that feeling can lead to you going to the bar, having a drink because you don’t feel good about yourself, and then you wake up the next day in a hospital because your drink got rufeed, or whatever, stories of compromise they all cascade and get worse, the more abuse anyone experiences, the less power they have to stand up and rebuild that protective auric shield around all these negative influences

worst of all, there’s all these ranges, all these avenues of attack coming at us from the external world, but the real curse is when they get internalized, and they become voices in our own heads, and we start to listen to what we think is our own, multifaceted self

you see someone walking down the street talking to themselves and their crazy, meanwhile whether or not you move your lips or make sounds, if you’re having a dialog with yourself when you look at the mirror, or you do something that makes you feel stupid, that you should be embarrassed about, instantly their comes the voice which not always is the most friendly voice and is sometimes your worse enemy

the world I want to live in is world of rape free zones

conditions that are conducive to rape are studied and analyzed and designed against

I would love to see a feminist revolution that takes all the weapons, power, land education systems, everything back from the patriarchal power structure with a swiftness, an abrupt insurrectionary uprising of women who organize together in sex strikes, and build new nations with new boundaries and reclaim the maternal birthright of really meticulously designing male egos that are in service to the earth and the elder councils of women who they adore and fear as all boys feared the wrath of their mother, doesn’t get much simpler than that

the distorted relationship we have with organized male violence, from street gangs to the mafia, every single cult of violence that men have organized and lead, only exist because mothers have been prohibited from sustaining a nature prehistoric tendency to collectively design how they want male aggressive energy to flow through their designed social ecosystem

its a horrible perversion of force on this earth for their to be male violence of any kind that is not guided by the wisdom of priestesses and elder women who are sustaining traditions of goddess worship that connect every bodies mind body spirit and sexuality to the divine wisdom that is feminine, is compassionate and nurturing

it is possible that every act of sexual conduct that a male engages in in his entire life time could be absolutely a blissful meditation

imagine that boys and young men and young adults and elder men, all lived with the same fear and humility towards all women and the divine feminine, never having been allowed to develop a self serving ego, and being kept in a constant state of bowing and being in prostration to that feminine power, as the superior and highest supreme power that’s what the schools of tantra that we’re drawing from in this warrior tantra program are all about and its my pretty well studied opinion is that every problem we’re facing in the history of the planet is the result of the perversion of that power dynamic

I don’t know a lot of female rapists or child abusers

I don’t know a lot of women who are designing weapons of mass destruction or cutting down trees on a mass scale, these are all symptoms of a power structure that has been hijacked not by the sacred masculine but by the toxic masculine

that if not kept in prostration to the divine feminine, will become a horrific evil menace to all life on earth

its the stories the mythologies, the cursing of women through religions that have feared women in the wrong way, there is a good way to fear women and the divine feminine, fearing that you won’t have the stamina to please them fully, that should be the primary fear

the way to solve that fear is to train your nervous system to be able to hold and embrace ever more powerful waves of divine feminine sexual energy, the kundalini shakti energy

that is the task of men, to be in prostration and in fear of the goddess in a manner that makes them want to put down axe, put down sword, grab your cock, with guidance of elders from long standing traditions, how to become a god, a peaceful loving, compassionate, gentle, caring earth worshiping, goddess worshiping powerful warrior who is capable of conducting defensive violence among many other things, but at the beginning and end of the day you’re there to kiss the feet of the mother goddess in all her forms, we’re a long way from there being positive peer pressure between men to be a better love, a more dutiful lover, a more prostrate lover

there was a time when all the cool people we’re doing it, the in crowd was doing it, goddess worship, prostration to the divine feminine, the glory to be accessed by ritual love making, where the impulse to harm and to rape and abuse was so well buffered so that a woman could trust that while making love to a man she was making love to the divine masculine aspect, that he has ritual invoked and through his practice of goddess worship he is essentially earning the access to be able to be possessed by the divine feminine energy so a woman can feel safe because she’s in the vibration of the goddess that has been invoked ritually by her lover

don’t have to believe any of this spirituality, any of these esoteric principles, we could all be starting from scratch

if every spiritual book instantly disappeared from the planet and we all just had the world we’re living in now, the technology systems, the political systems, erased all the mythology, if we had to start from scratch its a very simple reboot

the men who are careless recklessly unconsciously taking and not giving with their primordial sexual drives, if their in the reptilian brain with the remorselessness of that lower level of animal instinct, there are other animals that are compassionate, that are loving, it’s not just to say that humans are compassionate and all animals are below us

within all of our neuro anatomy, there’s a potential to devolved into an uncompassionate, self serving, sociopathic mode,

we have to acknowledge that in this modern world, it’s gotten worse, this tendency for males to conduct themselves in an uncompassionate way, it’s being rewarded, by media, by male peers, by the law in lot of places still, women as property and rape toy,

some places in the world where it’s safer to not be married because if you’re unmarried and you’re raped you can press charges but if you’re married you’ve joined a rape contract and you’ve signed up for it, so most likely you’ll be prosecuted

the world is extremely warped and the violence that’s being done on every level is all coming back to that fundamental distortion of the relationship to the human mother and the divine mother, circumcision

lack of breast feeding you so the hostility of men against women, nature, and animals, it’s very systematically built into most of the males walking the earth today, those who’ve been circumcised, those who have been deprived of on demand breast feeding, they are the enemies of life on earth, and for a reason, if you were an intelligent demon lord who wanted to come to earth and figure out how to make the most pain and suffering for all of life and really make a game show or a casino out of watching the misery unfold, the debauchery and hellish extreme violence, the raping of infants in places in Africa where there’s a mythology that they are less likely to have HIV/AIDs so they’re preyed upon in horrific cults of infant rape

female genital mutilation, all of these sores, all of the abuse happening on native american reservations, extremely high rate of alcoholism and these clusters of child sexual abuse where public officials come into work in government office job, and complain about how their child bit their penis while they were engaged in routine servicing

it is a very designed hell on earth that we live in and the forces that we’re up against, they don’t, in my experience they don’t respond to treatment with pharmaceutical drugs, with bibles, with exorcists, in my experience, my personal experience and in my studies, what we’re up against, what we’re doing with is such a merciless insidious force from the darkest pits of creation, its should be no surprise that in tantra the supreme goddess deities are the warrior goddesses the one’s who’ve adapted to address the ever evolving strategies of the demonic realm

mythology of kali and durga main warrior goddesses par excellence, there’s a lot of symbology there, a lot to read between the lines

and if none of this spiritual language works for you, watching this, there’s an even simpler frame of reference which is bonobos and chimpanzees, that’s a whole new mythology where if we had to scrap every spiritual text, every wisdom tradition, go observe behavior of chimps and bonobos, very close primate cousins, we happen to have more in common with bonobos than chimps, on dna level

however more exposure and contact and study was done with the chimps so they became the model to justify patriarchal violence and rape

I speak with boldness and confidence about my personal revelations about who and what is running the show of sexual patriarchal violence on earth, and who really owns this casino, who really owns this rape culture, it’s not the best attempt humans have made to figure out how to get along, and to share resources and to love each other and make love to each other, this is not the pinnacle of our consciousness around power and gender and sexuality,we’re living in the mass global entertainment driven patriarchal paradigm, it’s not progressive

you could say there’s more empowered roles for women in cinema, more queer roles, all that is a step in the right direction, towards our primal mode of loving, acceptance, equality, egalitarianism

Com and our journey together will begin hello dear beloved’s welcome to Township Punk podcast episode number so yeah it’s going to be around table Extravaganza with this Golden Child movie which is so near and dear to my childhood in which took me like 35 years to decode and now I realize everything everything I’ve ever cared to know about Tantra I learned all ready for my age of eight by Eddie Murphy so go figure you got between Eddie Murphy and and Barney the purple dinosaur you know you heard about that right amazing Barney the purple dinosaur yeah he’s that he’s a tantric sex healing master and you need provides a full-service tantric sex work for women who can afford the the billina and I guess yeah he’s just like he’s got Prana just to spare you know so I can check them out on Twitter to that’s how I that’s how I tracked him down sweet. One of these days we got ya at him and Eddie Murphy anytime you’re welcome on the township of podcasts do this tell us all about how it’s done cool so yeah then so we all at this point I’ve watched this movie probably a hundred times and you all have watched it probably one time each and I introduce it to you for devika because this is kind of like your stick is the the tantric Buddhism and the everything I started to learn from you and that was new to me about Tantra that was very much foodist into nature it would just match up to a lot of the symbolism and mythology and storyline of The Golden Child So before we get started with this this experimental commentary we’re just going to play it in the background and just react to it as it goes along it will will let people know where to queue it up from and make sure we’re all on the base of the same starting point but but before we do that would be great just to have a few thoughts of yours that we could just serve your kind of initial debrief analysis thought stream that comes from really having probably a lot more of a sense of what’s going on then the most people in Innisfil oh for sure you know I am looking at it and I’m Amazed by the accuracy of certain things in the sense that this was before the internet has access to your specialty Buddhist communities in this case but what I found particularly interesting is that I know I sent you this documentary called the on the steak and child and was created in 2008 and there was there was a lot of overlap in the sense because in The Golden Child we see this child but you know is said to be the sacred leader from you know prior life and the whole and I mean I don’t get too much into that part because we’ll see it anyways the beginning of the movie but this whole concept of finding this child because it’s important to their word to their community and there’s there’s so much historical in the bite behind that and I just found it amazing that they chose that seem to go along with in this movie I would love to know more about what inspired that this might be because there’s even like a you know we’ll see parts of the beginning where I’m just like yeah okay they they know what’s up they they have a pretty good understanding of the selection process wedding you know possible children who could be these leaders if they’re looking for so that’s pretty amazing and you know it at the same time this movie is also a testament to its time in the sense that it really is you know there are still a couple things that you know we wouldn’t I think this early due today would probably try to do better but I was still quite impressed by that and some of the relics what I saw in the shower I’m so yeah I’m really glad that you brought this phone to my attention bed awesome yeah it’s been accepted by I’ve been dreaming about for a long time cuz I somebody somebody besides me has got to enjoy this as much as I do and I feel like I haven’t found the found that tribe people that can see it from both both perspectives and you know the quick Point I’ve done a little bit of research into the origins of the just reading the Wikipedia and there’s also I’m going to digest the the the magic some notes on the Oliver Harper retrospective commentary where he did a review of the film and he brought up a lot of obscure film sack toys and things about it but but it is interesting to note that it was yeah it was originally intended to be a very serious kind of Adventure Thriller experience and then it’s I think somewhere relatively close to the last minute of getting close to production they just flipped the script Eddie Murphy came in and they decided to make it this way more tongue and cheek experience which totally works and it’s it’s just like so magical I just know when a movie has magic and when it just doesn’t and this just has it and it would not compute but it’s so after I think for westerners to have an entry point of the skepticism of anything mystical and then ething anything of that nature and so he gives you that sort of comic relief of how to approach this from as an American you know and American hero archetype to he’s like the wolf will go into it as we go along but but I will save us all feel free to to somewhat somewhat gracefully interrupt each other if there’s like an Uber we got to make a point about what’s going on cuz we can come in and get off them to the Weeds about about just exploring different aspects but if something comes up on the screen you don’t feel free to just like blurt it out and hopefully we won’t need deposit or back up or anything that could get confusing but I will just go along and and and do like the great says that the other commentators I really like that our form so so yeah without further Ado let’s see if we can kind of get a little bit synced up here so how about let’s try to get it to Missy we’re going at we’re at the point where it’s going to give the like Studio logo mountain range thing in like see see what happens like right after that way we can get pitch like the first title or something like that so so we’ll just let me try to keep it up after the Paramount sign or exactly what is like the first thing that happens right after and then we’ll start there so there’s a balance to the very very beginning of a so alright so we’re at the same point was just let it roll and then by all means tell us what we need to see you read between the lines I I certainly can’t a lot of stuff I wouldn’t pick up on so yeah translate what’s happening hey so it’s definitely taking place in a monastery them suspecting there intending a trailer to be into batter even the Paula because a lot of Tibetans did end up the fun facts or interesting fact rather there is a lot of Tibetan Monks in Nepal can you kill the audio on that sorry we’re going to just okay as you’re saying so much see her The Golden Child is actually a girl to I know that really yeah that is so cool because a lot of the times when we’re looking at actual Encounters of people looking for a previous leaders that usually layer usually looking for boys like I mean not explicitly stated but a lot of the children who have been found in these lineages are boys so that’s that’s pretty cool Russian Tea actually there is an ambiguity They Don’t Really emphasize whether the child has you know what whatever their gender is or non-gender so I think that maybe early makes this ahead of its time so she would give me information you have been sorry earthquake in Nepal a few years ago and they had in mythology that that there was a basically there was a goddess Temple that was spared and there was it a female child of devotion who was in that building and they kind of reaffirm their prophecy that that don’t don’t mess with the goddess Temple or you’ll get the rest you know is like a people were able to read into it what so we just saw some offerings be made and this is her actual Nala from a previous life and it’s really interesting how they did that cuz they gave them and they gave her those three to choose from and she knew which one was hers when she was knowing what that luggage was exactly having some sort of amnesia all right and then we’re going to see the power to restore life which is foreshadowing but we won’t spoil spoil it now she’s picking implements that there’s another process they think what they do they really cool before CGI really was a thing so they’re using real person just amazing to me so here goes the beginning of this raid and you never I guess if you knew more about the the the costuming that you might get some clues about where exactly they’re supposed to be from there or if they’re just like a ragtag band of goons working for the dark Lords of the Underworld did you have any sense of if they were representing some I mean like in Indiana Jones Temple of Doom they actually were explicit about that it was the thuggee cult that they were trying to represent what shall we say it in but there’s no real ID you seem like a good dark spiritual gangsters or something actually seen this sorrow costuming another Buddhist related media as well and I mean I see it I think of Siberian tribes but + communities but I’m very clearly there’s there’s obviously utility in having those typos wardrobe in cold areas right I just reminds me so much of a Game of Thrones character I was going to ask what what statue is behind can we see what statue is behind the child or is it just a question but I think you’re right like I was only imagine what they would have put me in tibetan Buddha but I honestly I can’t see it right now. Thing not to throw any any Asha monoculture under the bus but I know there is some extremely like Twisted Black time for coats out of there but it’s also the place that the word Shamanism comes from so it’s not all there is a lot of Tibetan black magic to there’s one Buddha who actually started off in tibetan black magic and his is a very long story will get into but eventually renounces it and goes on to the Buddhist no path and that’s basically his whole story this whole Jam so yeah there are there is there I mean in any for every lineage there’s always going to be you know a left pop right path dark path you know like there’s obviously always great Pops to right but yeah you’re going to get a variety of different paths with any any spiritual lineage really we we passed it a little bit but was there any significance to the cage are the reason why they needed to basically come like some from Destin yes I just like I would look like one of those Claws from Anarchy okay yeah I don’t know what to say about this what’s happening here it’s the pretty much exactly hey I’m all for the chunky asses I’m okay with this Ray why does he have to be ashamed of it he should be like seeing and dancing and worshipping the chunky asses as they walked by it’s so sad actually kind of seeing him just kind of being like okay I want to go now or you know so what we were referring to is this Montage that’s happening of American looks like l a Hollywood mostly and Eddie Murphy’s walking down the street putting up posters for a missing child who he’s he’s basically like somewhere in between I don’t think he actually is the cop maybe he’s an ex-cop but he’s like a private detective / Bounty Hunter / they caught ya like he puts Outpost reward for missing children so he’s some kind of like benevolent charitable Bounty Hunter kind of thing for lost children and they never really get into why that’s his thing but he’s definitely just plays the part very well as like a man on a mission and but he was at a newsstand and he finds a guy reading a porno magazine anybody makes fun of them in the car runs away and yeah he’s just reacting to everything going on and then we get to a point that I always I always drive to not be that guy but I know that I am so much like they make this I’m talking about right the host of the show who talks too much you are never liked that bad because that’s why I like doing your podcast like you know if you invite me I’m always grateful because I think you know if we always have good exchange mint got all three of us are here too because we’re not let you know I agree I think I mean you definitely let people finish what they’re saying then at least she let the message get across we can hold it for a sign you’re not the only the mic but this guy here I kind of like I kind of remember when there is like shows like this really everybody has 5 Seconds daytime kind of cable access that was the him being on a TV like daytime look like maybe cable access talk show talking about the missing child and giving you some background details and then it’s cutting to this gorgeous Tibetan scholar women who just is holding down her Shakti so hard and just stands out as a character that you would almost never see her stoicism but her sort of Mastery and self-mastery and discipline in her disgust with everything sloppy about the West is so spoken to wish I were a boy find interesting because this actress she’s actually Irish and Colombian and in herself I was like she’s doing really well with the part but I mean if it was today we have a lot of variety I feel it would be hit a little more home to the nationality I would think of all the record I think she did a great job with this everything you just said yes and I will say that that if I were to whatever part of my my time Trek Adventure in life has been has been asserted from the groove been carved by Eddie Murphy than this woman has appeared in my life in the form of three different people and you’re one of them but basically like her entire character has been like split into three of my real life movie characters so I give you I bow down to you for bringing bring a part of that that Juju and save us both for your wonderful Journeys thank you both for sharing through you know mediums like this thank you yes I did now we get into their she finds him she believes he’s the finder of the Sacred finder of lost children that the chosen one and he said Urban Dynamic with the kids playing basketball with and he thinks she’s crazy because she’s telling him he’s the chosen one he needs to go to bed to rescue a child thinks he’s smoking Scrolls or he thinks she’s smoking skulls and plays with her scroll that is like the prophecy and heroes it up like a joint and makes fun of her for having smoked it and says Topps rookie scrub yeah I don’t know maybe Hollywood at this time felt like Eddie Murphy was going to bring this to the you know the Blockbuster and it’s interesting you know the way Americans will bring up other cultures you know but also prioritize maybe things that we care about our culture it’s just interesting the cultural play but I guess they couldn’t be one story without the other apps maybe in the trees and maybe even to this day it doesn’t even happen where you know cultures are appreciated for what they are not made fun of you know and juxtaposition but yeah I seen this though happened in the 80s you know I wouldn’t have thought that there would be a movie like this at all I know it’s really a great movie that I ended up enjoying it a lot and I do think Eddie Murphy yeah I can imagine it without him it just it is so magical he just I think about the movies that that you can just feel it it’s a it’s a pass no pass on the magic test for for all films I thinking and this one it just Mi hours it’s kind of like a lost boys to say comedy and horror and vampire and she saw work but so this is now we’re going to see some fast and stuff so they are investigating this crime scene he was tipped off that these that there was a young woman he was looking for The Runaway teenager kind of got into the underworld is found having been used as a blood sacrifice to pollute to try to see the The Golden Child polluted blood and they’re in this occult looks like a squad of a scooter renting this kind of disheveled house and turned it into a Black Magic Ritual complex where they’re putting looks like Sanskrit spells in the walls and and very very creepy very very heavy vibes yeah it’s like black country graffiti it’s so funny because I mean you know even you know what the oatmeal hell this stuff will look at it and be like there’s something very visceral to me about it yeah I agree that’s it to me to the oatmeal really gross me I did look corny in a little bit and then you don’t want to explain a little bit later that it’s to put basically poison the child I thought it was specifically there has to be this writing has to surround the child and then they have to like ingest things and that’s how you diminish the prices vary it just seems like it came from probably inaccurate source of whatever this this tradition is or this yeah yeah I totally I know I was really sitting there thinking to myself well what where was the black what source material were they Consulting with because it is I think it’s creepy because I feel like there’s some accuracy you know to to what might have been written or passed down through oral lineages or you know something like that when it comes to black tan talking about somebody somebody with a real scholar that they must have consulted with in a probably a lot to interview them at some point someday if I would get to this podcast to the point where I have the ability to maybe not Joe Rogan status but a piece to the point where I can talk to people who has agents and things and a lot of these writers they’re pretty obscure it’s not like they’re going to be need to get to a million assistance to find them in all of these writers were just in The Hired Guns and Things so would love to get them on here but this is a great seeing where he’s really now having to Grapple with the occult and the skepticism of the otherworldly demonology that she’s bring to him very seriously so he’s just making sure that we’ve been through this deadpan but he has to just block everything that she’s saying and she has to just kind of like roll with the punches and hang in there did any of you like watch this and think of Donkey from Shrek sometimes like you need documents I look at it and think of his role as donkey and every movie okay so no she’s got him semi on board at least to make a few meetings visit some people to try to try to win him over that he’s the gold that he’s the the chosen one and the golden child must be rescued by hand The Chosen One according to scripture to help she wants to introduce him to some some folks some authentic folks who are going to help him get the picture and and so they’re going to this like a herbal store like a Medicine Shoppe and he’s going to meet this half dragon half human lady who was who’s very erotic and very very interesting absolutely said I love her but her story makes me a little sad though I do a little bit later I don’t want to I don’t want to lose the moment they have a quite a mix of different esoteric parts of different cultures so this is Chinese folklore there’s a combination happening here because there’s a lot of overlap right so with another guy you’re going to find them in South Asia so they can be especially in Nepal Tibet there is talk of them in China and also in Thailand and I believe in Bali as well we see variations of the lure of the Naga people which usually it’s interesting you’ll find good and bad right with naga in this case it sounds like the Naga they’re referring to our not-so-nice especially when we talked about the ancestry and how her lineage became part Naga because her was her grandmother that was raped by a dragon I think is part of the story so yeah so you know there are there is a lot of folklore about the not being good and then in Buddhism we do come across a lot of still some really interesting stuff weather connected to wisdom and wisdom bearing there’s a very well-known Naga Faker call Naga Kanya and she is an enlightened being who is a wizard bear but there is a lot of folklore just as equally about dog of people being you know the offense not behaving like a wisdom bear necessarily like they’re angry so they’re definitely walking through Chinatown right now so that was probably just within the range like you said if the overlap of different people mess up together representing all the different coaches there I think we missed a funny line where was looking at one of the preparations and he asked what it is and he says something you know he just died I’m not going to butcher that the word he says what he says good herb is good to keep the Yang up and he goes nothing wrong with my yang totally app for anyone who is doing erectile dysfunction herbal preparations for Tantra you know therapist and counselors you know this dick is Eddie Murphy dick joke about cheese in the middle movie so odd to me because there’s a lot of pain medicine that does deal with erectile dysfunction in a sexual performance talking about just this aspect of you know we can look at cultures up to a certain extent it after that they’re kind of their to me you know not comprehended but rather sometimes people just make fun of them I was just having a talk with somebody on this week this weekend about it about that but the sad fact is up to what extent do we the society allow cultures to really know provide what they have to offer you know especially religious practices so there’s a lot we still want to see happen with that right but I digress but I mean yes we we do have a long way to go I think still was true acceptance and understanding and curiosity I think that’s the major part all right so we’re catching up on a few things thank you yet for for sharing that and kitchen history he was he left that place and then he tried to invite her up to his place and it failed like it landed he landed on his ass with that it’s him and and she was very cold cold blooded when he asked again if she said no twice and then he pulled this act of trying to act like he was possessed by the spirits to tell her that you should go up there so it’s definitely like it’s sad because that’s like quintessentially what all of the country trucker earape artist guys do is like oh I am the spirit I’m the Divine Shiva and I’m channeling you know your instructions to there’s guys she will charge women thousands of dollars for their blowjob Enlightenment courses and so that’s like where that all starts but appreciate you know she’s like she’s really better boundaries we love to happen but it didn’t in the movie I was expecting that cuz I don’t know you know Ben we’ll get there we’ll definitely get there like the though they don’t be a I love to see that the XXX version but but that happens it happens in his dream though it’s funny he has that will get there but so now they’re there at this 441 some of these these black magic gun guys are basically they’re tuned in to what’s going on in there will do they have like a hideout now in La where they’ve taken a child to the US and now they’re doing this desecrated geometry later they could just hang out where they’ve set up multiple meditators who have this sort of triangulation of energy to basically block out his ability to astral project so he had he or she he or she that The Golden Child the golden kid is able to see and understand also telekinetic so meditating and praying to knock over that bullet blood being like that’s a nice look they got an expression yeah give me a break you’re not going to poison me I’m smarter than all you guys and waiting for one of them to fall asleep just stirring do all this the CIA black-ops MacGyver stuff and then also eating this sacred Leaf that’s nourishing and must based on some scriptures about how you could be meditating forever and only subsist off of like pot leaves and things so like the sunlight but are the the other and then a little bit of vegetation right just just to sustain oneself no one of the evil meditators fell asleep on the job and then like the CL is broken and now the opportunity to astral project and to commune with Eddie Murphy the chosen one is going to create this difficulty for him to to shake the mysticism off and so the the glowing orb emerges and he can see the what do you thinks is maybe a dream but he basically was stirred up to go and see this I think very good effects for the time for sure it’s a see you in the astral projection and I will tell you that there was a time when not to get too personal but I had the same exact experience of you appearing to me and the middle of the night as an apparition and within seconds I got a text message I got a message from you on Facebook and it was experience that’s so cool naturally you know that. Your sis. Power start to arrive to help stabilize that energy so it’s pretty much a magical thing is pretty amazing and so I have this part in my book about you know how to really heal yourself from what you thought maybe of you know how house Gary masculine energy might be some time I’m sure there are practices that really going to that and yeah that’s really a good part of my work you because oh man I mean we are in need of some major balance here on this planet and in this life in this world I so I really feel the more that we can Embrace anybody and I’m leaning to the feminine that is rising right now the more we can scan with that the more that we can make space for on the masculine to heal and balance and I want to say like rice but like because it has risen it in excess right but balance in such a way that it kind of comes down to meet the feminine so that this beautiful kind of dance can emerge in more Harmony and that would just make such a huge total impact and he just within the body the container of one individual body being able to fuse and merge those energies is so powerful yeah I’m really glad you what I do awesome guy and I can say from experience from the first couple of experiences and session work that I experienced with you then I really got I was able to feel the force you know that if we’re going to be using that Jedi archetype you know and in there if you want to call Kundalini Shakti goddess energy which is I love calling I love I love hearing of Kundalini as a salmon in force and you were the one who activated that for me and it was just very Seadrill yeah I remember like it was yesterday and so I appreciate it getting you you can get really philosophical and really theoretical but grounding everything into practices to make it as a workbook almost it sounds like this is amazing so you and it’s something that has to be felt in the body to really know what it is yeah it’s hard it’s hard to find words nothing will thank you for all that great work do you feel kind of complete as in that in this kind of brief introduction but but pretty I think it’s a pretty good overview I definitely thrilled to to go deeper with it and others will be as well so I wanted to give the bulk of this episode to this important news of promoting and getting the word out about the book and then but also address questions that I’ve had as a sort of I’ve become a sort of meta Godparent to a lot of different mothers who were rebranding as independent mothers who are in various stages of Court battles with baby daddies for custody and for child support and and I’ve just checking on this sort of I decided I’m not going to reproduce biologically all of my vasectomy but I will reproduce culturally by my being short playing that that more of a Shimano roll in peace and also keeping a little bit of distance from that that this is a an ancient sword of time tree thing of if you are not to be the guru per se but to be an Adept you may have to disengage from householding because there’s just so much mundane kind of learning and things you got to sit through so your country path is always going to be kind of a balancing act between how much of a household are you going to be and what roles are going to have within a community and then how far out you get to go on your own into your mystical practices so I have taken that past of offsetting my my familial obligations a bit so that I could study things from afar and then just go to be this force of will hopefully an Angelic sort of force supporting women who are in different degrees of Crisis that’s just a little bit of a of a context for why it’s important for me now to reconnect with you in a n n learn from you and share your teachings about Tantra parenting the pattern that has been emerging in the question is being asked of me and the view is is how does a woman who has just recently given birth and going through all these different chemical changes and hormonal changes how do you what’s the advice on keeping that spark of love and attraction alive with the baby daddy partner what are some some tricks and tips that you would recommend for for that really critical bonding you know six segments of Life first of all I’m not going to lie. I think the first thing to do is I mean really too kind of except that it’s not going to be the same but. It’s actually you know like I said with you know what having kids how you’re able to look at the things that really matter to you that was so when you actually are with your partner and you have those moments you know they might be less but we are going to be amazing because you are fully present and you’re showing up each moment you know and the end of a lot of for me it’s like when I first became a mom so I had my first son and it was really hard I was just like what cuz I was Dino stole so focused on your child and really wanted to be there to nurture that I and you are you know you’re you’re so deep into it into motherhood and it’s so new everything is so new and exciting and exhausting but I am in a few months I was just like oh my gosh like how how does this work how do we make this work and it was really really difficult very difficult but I found that by you know because I’ve had my kids almost 8 years now until I found that really what we eat sometimes you know if if we need to say like make an appointment with each other and that’s what we have to do if we have to put it on the calendar they okay these are the the two or the three days a week that were scheduling for ourselves for intimacy for connection then that’s we’re going to do that first there was a struggle because my husband’s like okay this isn’t sexy yo after he got over that initial thing it was like okay like we can do this we can make time for this we can we can be intentional about it for us really had to do that because not only was it you know hard navigating with kids now but also the work you know work in the balance of that it was just really tough so that was one of the things that we did the other thing that I want to say is that sometimes you know you you have good intentions but I got at the end of the day you’re exhausted and and then you just end up wanting to just sit there and whatever you want to do watch TV or you know just go to bed until I always like to say that really if you really want to keep that sparked going not to give up just because you feel like okay you know I don’t have that energy right now or I don’t have the time to put into this right now to really see and used Contra in a way that it’s really meant to be experienced right because Todd’s are really isn’t just all about sex right and having that fat set spark Tundra is it much deeper than that and so sometimes you have to tell yourself like okay even though we don’t have time to make love right now maybe maybe it’s just about lying down next to each other synchronizing out of breath making that I contact I’m falling asleep to that I’m letting that be enough you know before you know this night or this week or whatever it is like in the beginning it’s not to really put so much pressure on yourself but to use Simple practice is like you know that you have your own position and just sitting there together and being or maybe you know it’s one night you really need a massage right now you know I really just after having a long day or a long week and be with the kids so much that’s what I really need so communicating that to your partner and really staying in touch with that and not being embarrassed or not feeling like it’s too much or too much of a burden or whatever it is just really being clear about what you deeply need I’m in a lot of that comes down to really checking in you know with yourself all the time and seeing what’s there I really feel like things like that even though you know you might be cuz it’s also self-care right so you’re able to connect with your partner in that way and then you’re also able to have that time must be nurtured and a slowing down which is also key so I think everyone is going to work differently and it’s going to be unique for all of us but it’s really about finding those opportunities to stay consistent to really stay connected in those small tangible ways and mlc really accepting that it’s okay that you know your relationship has changed the amount of time might be able to have to devote to one another Soul has changed I’m not true but you can actually take all that and evolve it into something in a lot of cases that really goes much deeper than that you know because now it’s it’s amazing you know you have this this connection and you know going through motherhood and Emma strikes that that gives you time to actually be able to take that foundation and that strength and that those nurturing abilities and that expression being able to use that with your partner in your relationship I’m having that Foundation really can make me very powerful in a way that’s unexpected just as amazing as you always bring it back to the fundamentals of the practices this is not all hot air to talk about it tell about doing it doing the work and I just feel like it makes me think that I can think of I mean I know some couples will have the foresight to at least make prenuptial agreement but I can’t think of anyone who they actually said we are going to go through the most insane trans transformation of everything we know we can if its first time parents who have no clue what to expect and they and what if they were to get these to be the eye of a storm throughout anyting that’s the Abbey unless Ty gazing the synchronized breathing you can’t touch that space with anything so but but pure Bliss and whatever does need to get work through if it’s done in that space it’s going to be conscious it’s going to be a constructive and it’s going to be a firming so I feel like it’s the what I’m hearing you say and what diarrhea firm is two people listening if you were expecting and you want to keep this container of love together and ever strengthening then start doing his practices now and know that you’re going to really rely on them it’s going to be life-and-death okay we’re just going there so I can breed all right like can’t we just do that let’s just do that next week or let’s just all of that I mean once you start doing it and engaging and you feel that present in your body and the Net Connection you have to just trust that all of that and all of that adds up and all of that makes a difference in your relationship every moment of that that time that you have on to be able to connect in that way as powerful well thank you again for bringing it back to to those core practices again you could have a lot of compliments sure there’s a million complicated bits of advice that people could give for this but this is so practical and and I just I dare people could really do it in and I don’t think you can fail you know I don’t think it’s possible to fail if you have good intentions and you do the scratches so yeah so we were getting also to your kind of making a perfect segue to the next question which is more more about the the asymmetry of responsibility and Duty specially for breastfeeding mothers and mothers to be carried to full-term and whatnot it’s it’s like there’s such a the mail investment just as how I always make this joke there probably less violence in the world is men had to breastfeed but women actually held the babies in their room still so imagine that you wouldn’t be off to go into war and using weapons and guns and swords that she had breastfeeding on demand for whatever after 5 years income that would be great that leaves man with such an unfair and balance of freedom and privilege to not be bound to the those tasks so a lot of women are rightfully lamenting this sensitive of the men who are supposed to be there showing up to with the with the mother is hoping for is that yeah he’s going to go to work and put food on the table and make it so I don’t have to work hopefully or I can work you know in a way that I can still be involved in my children’s lives you know for God’s sake you know who something something not just not just the short maternity leave remind me that the CEO of YouTube is a yogini who is Hardcore advocate for way longer maternity leave or something yeah I didn’t know that I’ll send you a link to a video where it where you get to see that she’s actually really badass them she’s a fierce that ass woman who’s awake I have no idea how did you navigate and how do you recommend for women who maybe don’t have is as blessed of a of a beloved Fixer-Upper type type men how do you get them on board with really going the extra mile of of checking in about about the needs a mother you know mother would have if she is being assertive about her knees in about the new suicide where she would like how can you be humbled to her and just be asking and showing up to being serviced that’s a question that’s a really great question and I have to say that I’m really fortunate with Eric because he I mean he has just him and he is just been a tremendous support from the beginning but then at the same time it’s like I also have to do my part with him right of being very clear about I need you no because then it that this always with him you know in the beginning of special rub up against this when he just wouldn’t know you know and I would be just waiting silently expecting something but he wouldn’t really know that that was what exactly I was looking for right because for women it’s like having that ability to breastfeed and nurture and carry this baby. Room I mean just how we have those abilities so readily at hand and we know what we need sometimes it’s hard to say yeah I need this actually it sometimes it’s hard because where we can be so strong you know and we can put off the 15 so strong and like we have everything together and I know that I do that a lot of time where I’m just like yep I’m good I don’t need help I look what I’m doing all by myself I’m doing all these amazing but that really inside I’m like oh my gosh like what am I I can’t do all this by myself and just allowing your partner that opportunity like okay like this is really what I need and this is the support that I need and this is how I feel going through that and not being afraid to say I am overwhelmed right now you know and and can you please and saying this from a place of love right not from a place that judgment and like what are you doing for me and you know resenting that you know you have more freedom than me and Bubba blah and I’m here breastfeeding or whatever it is not doing it from that place but from you know from your center from a place of love like I’m I’m really overwhelmed I need help with this right now you know can you get up be up with a baby now for two hours because I only had 3 hours of sleep last night instead of just silently you know doing in that moment when you feel I mean I I just I know a lot of of moms and a lot of friends who dust will just be like okay well he didn’t you know my partner my spouse he didn’t step up and so I had to do it and then my will but did you say something and they’re like no or maybe they did say something but you know it wasn’t from that place you know of just clear intentional loving vulnerable until. I think that was one of the biggest things for me especially you know when our relationship I’m like okay and then you know my husband tries to tell me like he’s Eichler like he’s like really I want to be able to show up for you like I want to be strong for you I want you to feel good but he’s like I honestly don’t I just need to to hear it I just sometimes I need to be told or I need to be reminded because it doesn’t come as naturally to me and then show me be mindful of that and not you know not falling to being hurtful or resentful something makes me cute different do you know well that’s really really profound that that really gets to the hardest exactly what I’m seeing go wrong inside once at once that slippery slope really hard I mean it’s kids once this thing start to add up then breaking through that you’re really. It’s really snowballing and that’s your thing everything is this Noble thing I’ve seen it yet so that is great advice I think that work that I said the fly to something if x is kind of ridiculous that it reminds me of I remember seeing young young women and whatever middle school or high school and home home economics class and they will be given an assignment to have a baby doll with them for whatever and in that relationship it’s like okay honey we’re going to do what it’s going to feel like for me to be busy and need help from you and you put in your garden that would be funny if it decided to give people that sensitivity at sensitivity training cuz once it’s already ratchet up and then more expenses than what I’m seeing to notice let me know way more than I do but it’s like I don’t think I think people underestimate the cost of of multiple visits to the pediatrician a week you know it’s like figuring out food allergies and decoding the sugar all of the ways that sugar is is is surreptitiously inserted into packaged food and just it’s such a pill battle to be holistic and to be in at all so it’s just this this is all in on top of just I mean most people are just buying everything off the shelf from entertainment to toys to food to diapers and whatever it is it’s all just off the shelf but to have that effect of wanting to do better than the last Generations or to resist the marketing and be more green or whatever that’s a whole another layer of the building so you know it’s just to get more and more complicated and at the end of the day I see the women just getting ran ragged and the dudes just kind of blowing him off sadly to say but if we could he had say that actually kind of Segways a bit to another question which is and this I mean you could you could write a whole book just on this subject alone out so I don’t expect you to to go too far into it but maybe just some off the top of your head pointers and we can move along quick to know we’re getting close on time so so any suggestions for creative and educational and non-toxic toys just a few maybe went to one website or one store just don’t know anything I don’t know if I’d be the best person to ask about that because I not that they have a choice in general just because you know like all the plastic and everything I mean and we like literally their toys are like one corner of our house like a couple of containers and that’s it and they barely even play them to be honest with you I feel like the simpler the better you know I feel like I’m all about like art you know art projects you know the pain and the crayons and all the art supplies and things like that so that they can enhance their minds and use their hands that way and explore that way they’re into that but I found that you know the purchases that I made with toys throughout the years it’s like that use it and then they’re done and that’s like a big hunk of plastic sitting there are biodegradable and Wooden Spoons and then they’d be busy for 2 or 3 hours you know that they have gotten that I get them they’re like okay and then they open it and then they look at it for 10 minutes and then I end up you know it’s just a way so yes so we do more we like to do more stuff you know in nature I mean they like to play you know what they say they love gospel they love being outdoors they love Ari and they love puzzles and things like that so that’s why I hope that I hope and pray that we will all have abundant opportunities to being healthy natural environments and have plenty of more outdoor time the better cuz there’s some nature is like endless you know just being outside they’re like so fascinated by every little thing the backyard I don’t know it exactly how I like how did the people survived all of those many years ago without these big pieces of plastic and well that is exactly what I thought I hope to hear in and a very firm it if so this is another test of the last one here is probably the the most kind of universal so I don’t know if there is an answer to this question however I died would like to spend I would like to spend my golden years doing a lot more anthropological research on on foraging sigala Terry and societies before you spell hunter-gatherer societies who have basically none of the the neurotic issues that people in the modern world have and and I love to know I would like to believe that there is that there was a golden age of human Innocents where the terrible twos didn’t exist and then that we could decode that and figure out what is it more nurturing Less Talk toxins I mean is it just that there’s so much overstimulation and so many maybe you’re actually able to perceive carcinogens at that age and then you stopped being able to and that’s why I mean it could be anything less or I could just sent them know something very out of balance that’s just modern so I’m just wondering if you have if you were really idealistic about know I’m going to teach there going to be a master Yogi’s by the age of one so that the terrible twos happen though I already beat exam enough I don’t know why you if you were like I don’t know like tell me what that’s been like for you and then if you have advice for people who are in that approaching that Horizon will for me I really I really just try to go with the flow you know just so I’ll talk to style just like accepting every part of it I was just part of the the beautiful messy process of development and growth and exploration and sometimes I do know because otherwise then it’s just become so hard you know what I’m saying because you expect it is you’re going to have meltdowns right it’s not it’s not going to be easy is there at like going to be some very tough days especially in the beginning if it’s going to be hard you feel like what what am I what did I get myself into one of my hairdo evaporate the next moment you know you’re going to feel the most joy and Bliss and happiness that you ever felt like wow that’s amazing that I get to be a part of this process you know that I get to witness this human being growing and developing and it’s it’s just amazing so it’s really you know you know the whole ton truck idea of a flowing through those energy that accepting every moment no matter how chaotic and allowing those emotions and those feelings and those moments to move to you during this challenging time to witness in you know children and young children because it’s like they can like be so happy in one moment and literally within five seconds that can beat me on the floor it’s crazy right it’s like oh my gosh the wide array of emotions from moment to moment and not inhibit that till I I feel like you know it’s like wow for me initially seen that in the beginning and fidget with night was my first one and that you can just move so fluidly like this and just just like that and get so consumed by something else in another moment we just amazing to me so I think we can really take a lot of sign a lot of lessons and just being present at something to a Full Circle closed right now because what I am even before you started to reply that lesson for grown-ups really about about cycling through your full expression and not choking your body is response to a situation out and the full the full body response to a situation I was actually remember me on my phone while I remember a room full of adults it you and Eric’s condo and we were being instructed to behave like children having a tantrum so that we can feel good and actually know the nice that storm there’s like the sun and the blue sky and in the EXO baekhyun the funny faces and doing the monster dance and some just like well you’re probably realizing hits are the times of the exactly yeah it’s it’s pretty amazing to witness is there a word for like reverse parenting or something has got to be a word for the the the from children actually teaching adults what they’re forgetting and I didn’t mean well that’s really it’s a really heartwarming conversation and I feel like the people who are hearing this and who have experienced so much pain and distress that there is such a open source free to use to spend your own time studying it get this book read the book watch Roadies videos I certainly considered to be the highest resource that I like to share with folks because of the same reason they listen before adjusters I don’t feel like there is a knot a snake-oil aspect of what you’re selling and there’s not a sort of a shady ulterior motive saying a gender that I have to worry about and and I just can’t say that about that many people until I’m sure you know and I certainly feel for myself that you know I have I always want to be deferring is often as possible to sort of protect my Integrity to not be the what do they call it like the god cock Shaman is just a narcissistic people’s souls and that’s easy enough to it’s easier to take that route of that that black timeshare manipulate manipulate almost hard not to do it so I mean I’m making and I feel like we are making major effort cuz that’s the complete opposite of what you are and what you and body I mean from the very beginning so yeah no thank you I really feel like you are just I mean somebody who’s just really in there doing that you’re like doing the work you know and you like do it like with an open heart you’re just like in there and you’re talking to everybody and just creating this just really amazing platform. She’s not easy prey
Holding pepper spray
Scanning her surrounds
Ready to stand her ground

Repelled by wild screams
Can’t get within arms reach
Rape artists beware
Fights like a momma bear

Predators
Will be on the run
Now that
She’s got a gun

You will learn
To stay away
Now that
Her dog is trained

Warrior goddess
Righteous rage, counter-offense
Warrior goddess
Fighting back, sacred violence

Our typical date
Is firing at the range
Then we hit the pads
And work on hand to hand

Fighting back to back
Loving eye to eye
Together we feel safe
Our love we fortify

Miriam Elyse Pic

In this episode I’m joined by the deeply powerful and empowering Miriam Elyse for a conversation about the intersections of healing, loving, and martial arts. She shares her personal journey into her studies and practices of acupuncture, tantra, and Kalari an ancient Indian martial arts form.

We discuss the need for training the body to be strong and defensible and our hope that modern spirituality movements will reclaim and embrace sacred warrior archetypes.

About Miriam:
Miriam Elyse is a licensed Acupuncturist, certified Tantra Yoga practitioner and founder of Pleasure as Medicine. She has her Master’s degree in Science and Chinese Medicine, and has been practicing acupuncture for 11 years. Miriam began studying Tantra Yoga for her personal healing during Acupuncture school and she noticed how both traditions emphasize the healing effects of sexual energy.

When she was a young woman she experienced sexual harassment that made her feel unsafe and ashamed of her body. Through intensive yoga training at the age of 18 she was able to experience power and sensuality own her body which reconnected her to her inner strength. She took on a meditation practice at a young age and began studying with healers from Native American and Tantric traditions, which now strongly influences her work.

Today Miriam has a private practice in southern California specializing in women’s sexual health, teaches monthly Tantra workshops and leads group retreats helping people reconnect to the wisdom of their bodies and remove barriers to love and pleasure.

Com and our journey together will begin hello dear beloved swapna Township Punk podcast episode number 144 I’m being joined by Miriam Elise who is a Healer and lover and martial arts student and I’m very excited to have her on the show to talk about her personal journey and the weaving together and mixing of these art forms mainly in the area of calliope at 2 which is arguably the world’s oldest organized martial arts form out of Kerala India and there’s a beautiful tradition of goddess Temple worship and massage and just holistic health and body work and all kinds of deep spiritual wisdom connected with the the martial art form which am I actually after having been a martial artist student and scholar and of sorts of combative arts for most of my life I had not encountered Heart by name directly although its influence so many martial arts throughout the world I hadn’t really discovered it vary directly until just this last couple of years so I’m very interested to find other folks out there especially in the tundra world who are seeking these roots and really emerging the handle of the Divine with feather need to have a lower chakras dialed in and having some physical security and situational awareness and also just the beauty that comes with them martial arts training isn’t just always about violence it’s also about just self-discipline and really developing one’s self and being able to avoid Violence by mastering it so I would that said please enjoy a mistake Marion please tell us about how you became the beautiful educator and a practitioner of all things loving and healing and self thank you so much I started it at a very young age and it came from my wanting to kill myself when I was young middle school experience lot of sexual harassment and I went home every day to an emotionally abusive family situation and I learn meditation at the age of 13 help me find another way to another way besides this world that’s in front of my eyes every day at 6:15 in 5 minute grace and Power in my body and my Sensual Body for the first time as a developing 15 year old yoga with something that really help me connect myself and went on to get my certification to teach school at the age of 22 then just knew that I wanted to be a Healer I wanted to help people facilitate healing for themselves and sure was what I chose because it it combines the body the mind and the spirit and doesn’t leave any out which I loved about the system of acupuncture and you know I’ve always had a lot of Sexual Energy my whole life I’ve had a lot of Sexual Energy running through me and it was 25 or so and the only thing that was really different between another yoga class that I could tell is that they mention Sexual Energy using the classes I would just start glowing more and more people would come to me asking about sexual health libido their relationships and it just so happens that my practice to pay more more focused around helping people heal intimacy issues on sexual issues lack of being able to orgasm and so I jumped into studying Tantra. so you know my background feels like it was this organic progression where I I started off searching for something to make me feel better in my body and my daily experience that I was really struggling and I really didn’t feel names of kids make fun of me and you know developing the power in my body is feeling this is the world about me and then bringing my sexuality into that country yoga and and recognized and there’s there’s a place for me to Channel all of this Sexual Energy channeling it into my body through my breast it’s going in every direction when you can focus it and channel it if it sounds very intentional power which is really me to study Tantra yoga so have you have you been able to mix or find the sort of parallels between acupuncture and Tantra yoga and any other modalities that you’ve you’ve come across like I’m curious how those intersect ever it’s beautiful to see just people kind of making her developing their own Styles everyone’s finding their own path and merging different things to to find what works best and so if you can talk about that and maybe how you’re able to apply that in your services with Pleasures medicine yeah that’s a great question and for a long time that was my self in Creed at was the thing that I was racking my brain trying to understand the crossover and immediately it’s it was obvious to me because I’m Chinese medicine and Tundra both both of those kind of philosophies and systems of understanding the body and believe that your sexual energy is root of your life force energy comes from the kidneys is also a newborn and it has little bit some change throughout your life from you know poor poor sleep schedule too much you know for men accusation has all kinds of an experience while sitting Tantra yoga sexual cultivation practices building Sexual Energy and then holding it or moving it to different parts body and something else that I love about about acupuncture that was based in Dallas to philosophy we believe that you know generated by so for some reason the woman is seen as this kind of pleasure machine this Honeypot The Source the source of energy of creation is this feminine the seven enforce that births all of life and it’s believed in acupuncture where is a man is sexually pleasing a woman he is actually building his own energy sources by giving her pleasure mean goddess worship here giving a woman the one in ten even medical as acupuncture Honors that you know it’s on her something that seems to be more I don’t know what it’s all it’s all esoteric but it just I just love that it actually talks about sexual pleasure and Sexual Energy is being something that’s healthy which is how I got to my business name medicine Tina for a lot of us in the last missing link between a lease or a pressure release to being something that can actually heal us and heal the people that were with is so many of us have these negative beliefs and around sexuality or anything that sets pleasure Aces hedonistic and Hedonism in fat and he miss him is something that is going to make you selfish and make you want to take everything for yourself and not can I sync starting to reframe your your relationship to pleasure just like things that normally so the substance of things they determined take people away from God or can cause addiction and causes Extinction one of them being masturbation another one being sex and alcohol use them in small amounts in your Puja in your worship so the idea is that you know if I can be intimate with this substance and use it as way to get closer to what I truly want which is an India that’s Enlightenment closer to God part of my life and I just I love how there’s there’s medicine even in what some people think is a poison and so you know pleasure as medicine what what do you have in your life that gives you pleasure that you can use in the right way in order to heal you in order to get you what you want being close to God or just more self-love right so that you know this to be an interesting question for you I’ve joked about this with other friends to be kind of try to reverse-engineer those those five elements you’re talking about and really try to understand the the logic behind it or at least Wonder but the logic behind it cuz there’s you know there’s some different schools of thought but it seems like it could be boiled down essentially to Trent basically ritualized transgression of cultural conditioning that limits your your free experience of the senses and not feeling Bound by it or being neurotic about social rules that sometimes they’re serving the interests that that maybe aren’t your own and they. Just give me the kind of break free from that and I don’t know if you would agree you know word for word with that that approached her that thesis but friends of mine We’ve joked about how in the modern world so it was fishing to Modern Western world breaking those five addictive or those transgressive things are probably things like having a day without a cell phone or not checking your email your Facebook or or having open relationships or something where you’re being challenged to look at something that you really phobic about her that you really addicted to I’m wondering if you if you’ve ever kind of had that thought experiment about what if there is a way to extrapolate since you know some of those things the grain officiants not so much unless you’re you know straight vegan is not necessarily as much of a taboo right so as I give you kind of ever wondered about how you might extrapolate that to Maps out onto the modern lifestyle and then in the West I like that you know I like that idea, I think that’s definitely a spiritual practice on its own is yourself of things that normally take you away from presents I think something different about in order to get you to where you want to go instead of instead of them being forced to block you is that all of these things has power to that like no alcohol for example has has the power to numb you and release your inhibitions right but when he says that the alcohol you infuse it with Mantra See you first Infuse the Montreal you let the the molecules of this this liquid Viagra West with the ceiling mancha and then the alcoholics else increases your circulation and opens you up open opens your body opens your mind opens your eyes with this Mantra movie ideas that you’re using a lot of power and meech meet you know eating meat is your eating another animal you’re eating like a living animal and you get more like potentially more energy from eating a bite of meat and you do from eating a vegetable I guess that’s controversial and open to discussion also between. Quarries in India want to be reborn as one one of the ones that get to smoke all day and masturbate and just eat without any of the strictures of yeah it’s like that that’s the kind of renunciation that drives with my punk rock I like I’m actually faster to buy them because it is said it said that they each and copulate with the dead bodies and disgusting oh my God what I understand is when they’re doing a say they’re even sitting on top of the dead body they’re eating it or having sex with it or whatever and they’re chanting a mantra at the same time so I can be with God here then I’m free if I can beat you with God if I can still feel God’s presence the Divine in my body when I’m doing the most horrible disgusting thing then nothing has the power to take me away from my God awareness well that’s well she definitely need to have some consent forms for that to happen in the modern world it somehow makes it beautiful for me oh yeah I can understand the poetry and honestly I think we’ll have all the things that we donate our organs in our bodies to in the name of science you know how can we how could we judge Wright how can the West judge with all of the you know that practices that we vivisection and you know all the stuff so it’s definitely always a mind-expanding experience to have these conversations in wow so I coming back into your journey and your practice I would love to hear about your how calorie has entered your life how you discovered that and integrated it and just so I understand you you took a trip and you’ve done some study directly in India with actual Masters and so it’s very heavy of a very unique perspective that I want to hear bow India trip was two years ago and it was when I was really really introduced to kalaria is living at a place and they had three classes every day one at Sunrise mosquitoes so you know I experienced getting up going across the highway to get some chili running backs to Calera practice before I was even awake and Drew Ali watching the Masters craft a beautiful balance between call masking fluid graceful tree I really just had this this deep understanding washing a class one day that I wasn’t how it seems like it seems like a lot of the movements are designed to move cooling energy throughout your body movements when your spine is moving all around here normally would make me feel very high and disembodied and bringing it straight down in jumping on the ground on the earth and I just fell in love with it as a way to move move energy for your body my my understanding of of Martial Arts kalari yoga any physical practice that requires you to sweat in your body and steal your pain and feel what happens in your muscles when they’re shaking and you have to push forward anyways is the warrior mindset something really sitting there and she has that balance between being a war art and Art of War and an art of healing and it’s interesting cuz those two things right Warren healing seem to be such a dichotomy but in reality I think of what I’ve been through to get through your deepest pain that you experience the greatest feeling I’ve struggled the most should I’ve had to be in my own life after I killed myself so somehow warn healing do go together right and this this practice of kalari weather Atlantic I know there’s other martial arts that have this beautiful dance to them that like half of metaphor example is both a dance and an art of fighting and it feels like being able to keep your focus being able to keep your mind still while your body is doing these really extreme movements is part of just training yourself to be a warrior in daily life and it’s incredibly important to have that grounding and that’s pierced focus and determination especially if you’re doing sexual practices you know practices that strong really strong energy if you don’t know how to hold that the container energy in your body and your nervous system it’s likely that you’re going to experience negative side effects of negative effects of what can happen to one’s ego if they do suck their sexual energy without really you know clear self-awareness yeah I totally agree in and I would say that this is a pretty much lifelong martial artist that I consider just the doing the combative movements in dance formats really keeps you rejuvenated and keeps you flexible keeps you strong and agile and graceful and I’m careful of like you said aware of yourself and it has just flowed very naturally for me and so it’s just been delightful and exhilarating to know that really the the roots of pretty much all of the Eastern martial arts can be attributed to these roots of kalari and so you know the goddess Worship in the temple is in the secret Temple design and knowing that some people were using you know they were worshipping the goddess and celebrating Divine femininity and Earthly and divine forms and when people came to threaten their way of life they had the means to defend and fight off and and not always successfully because you know it’s a stairs ruined temples many temples and ruin still today but and the suppression of the the more matriarchal aspects of it but it hasn’t been totally concur until he destroyed so I’m just thrilled to know that that we’re hopefully there will be as much I mean my my prayer is that there will be as much adoption and embracing of the these defensive strategies and if the health value in the combative value of them as we have absorbed in the west all of the yoga and now well not all of it but we’re Seekers are discovering a vast array of scriptural knowledge and yogurt practices that have just only really recently begun to accelerate in the sexual Dimensions with with the more left-hand passage path yoga or Tantra yoga and read Township so this seems like it’s the next wave of integration from you know we’ve already got all these karate Studios already got all this Kung Fu and we don’t have the sacred sexuality practices but we’re we love yoga and we love meditation and we love dancing so hopefully yeah this can be a new a new sort of path forward so do you have a you have thoughts about just Visions for how your involvement with Clary may I understand you’re just bring students through Retreats two different teachers in your kind of facilitating more engagement right with this system yeah yeah and just as you’re talking to eena to come in and what you’re saying something about say kalari you mentioning that Clary is a strength for protection rights protects a Continuum from one extreme to the scale be needed protecting something you love any other extreme would be something that you hate feel like a lot of the way inside a better perspective about anger beautiful it is to use that anger the power in the healing potential and using something you love him against fighting cuz it’s saying I’m against fighting that’s about the heart and Clary has the potential to change the way that are our Warriors are martial artists in our culture coming up I have this Retreat and Kawaii why I’m collaborating with two other incredible amazing yoga teacher and then one more Central aspect of it so necessary strength along with surrender the two opposite Parts together and so having a more sensual sex positive practices about worshiping Beauty worshipping the sacred feminine flower rituals are actually vegetables and then having those strong practices we are confronting your own in the physical body you know and it seems like such a whole way to heal a sexual body actually a year from now next year I’m planning on taking a group on a pilgrimage that unchecked pilgrimage in India studying with Larry Master every day and is the benefit of having a strong physical practice with some sensual opening expensive practices beautiful yeah thank you so this is the dimension of really healing and bridging and reconnecting the this Continuum of calling sacred violence when a when a mud mama bear has to defend her Cubs that’s righteous Rage that’s where we have the capacity to Anchor access and direct our nervous systems for defending others in defending ourselves like you said out of love and protection and I feel like it’s a real it’s been a real kind of cognitive dissonance I guess or just a disconnect for people in the The New Age kind of Dino gets a lot of biggest stereotyped a lot but but really there’s there certain aspects of the so-called New Age movement that have lost that groundedness and sort of them I mean there’s like if I could get personal for a second I’ll say now I’m as it as a survivor of sexual abuse and his one who has had almost all of the women and all of the partners in my life be survivors of rape and abuse I don’t share some of the the more kind of Airy fairy ideas a tow if you just vibrates that you were Invincible as you walk down the street with no situational awareness and no tactical training and no skills or even pepper spray or any awareness of your surroundings and you’ll just be immune to attack in and I don’t want to be paranoid or so you don’t have so much PTSD that that I can’t that I start to have no delusions of threats that aren’t there but the statistics and the just the you know the people who do the the work of addressing chronic issues of violence against women sexual assault they I don’t think that they consider themselves to be super and lighting their spiritual but I respect their Spiritual Development when it comes to this stuff more than I would say people who could just kind of Vape they pray but they don’t move their feet you know they say tie up your horse before you kneel down and pray you know so it’s kind of like having that physical realm dialed in and I’m just curious if you have encountered that a backlash or sort of shining of the solstices you can’t talk about fighting in war and we’re supposed to be beyond that right we’re supposed to be just floating in the clouds in the sky it does actually and it really does resume I mean you know my first like I was saying my first practice my first spiritual meditation session age to learn how to just live in this world of light that I created my own head right but it was also I was also escaping it was like I was seeing and my mother I mean bless her to my mom’s amazing she she’s going to take me to yoga and I have a very close relationship with her and she ain’t no more comes from the school of thought that you may think positive and positive things will happen and is less comfortable with less she doesn’t she looks quiles as comfortable with really getting down into the shadow work in the nitty-gritty band that might be hurt her path that’s different from mine but what I’ve found for my own life is I spent so long you know trying to run from what I didn’t feel good sugar coat it spiritually bypass it by just thinking that I could change my reality with my mind but there was a couple korfez there’s there’s a couple trama beliefs pains you know of course are RNs from you know early childhood most people have something is like an anchor in their Spiritual Development keeping them from getting until I touched my rage you know it wasn’t until I touched my pain met face-to-face you know I had a vision one time of screaming at the top of my lungs as a lion is staring me in the eyes roaring at me meeting you face to face and I’m not going to I’m not going to pretend you’re not there I’m not going to let you know just try to dance around you I’m just going to meet you with all that I am show up for that with all my power and there’s so much power that’s locked in the body at slots in your ability to really stand strong and protect yourself you know and if you’re kind of lost in the mind and daydreaming around situations trying to keep yourself safe by thinking positive I do believe in some situations in a lot of situations that’s helpful on the street thinking oh my God I’m going to get so they’re going to look at me they’re going to take advantage of me or they’re going to want to start a fight I’ll be driving that to you I definitely believe that that’s true but what’s more powerful I believe is is walking in a walking with the speaking sauce but carrying a big stick like you have the tools with the necessary in case anything’s going to happen because you want to cause fighting not because you want to bring conflict to you but that actually adds to your confidence of saying okay you know what I am I hope I never have to use this but I have this in my tool-kit and I’m protecting something I love you know and there’s a lot of spiritual bypassing that’s going on in in our community and I recently a few months ago maybe a year ago I Rossini recognized is that I have been spiritual bypassing and wasn’t even aware of it to not feel my pain I was really uncomfortable with actually experiencing anger and so all of my where would show up as disconnecting I would just disconnect I would go silent I would shut down my relationships can only go so far and Smit of human civilization must be controlled fire all of a sudden we can control so much and that’s what works with anger is a beautiful thing about these martial arts and it’s killing us power and learning to control it in a way that actually is healing beautiful I was so amazing so have you Clary is I guess in my I have not formally studied her I’m just kind of academically and athletically studying it and I actually what I what I have what has it come to me sort of as a I guess you know how certain teachers will come to your life and come into your life through certain kind of indicating that there’s there’s more maybe some form of cosmic guidance it’s happening that it wasn’t just you going out and seeking something and thinking that you like having in your your your Serta small egoic mind having a good idea or vision and not knowing how blessed it is or how to find it is but just going for it but then something that comes from a very serendipitous kind of entry point your life gives you more pause and reason to think hey this is may be a sign or maybe you’re saying with that kind of having that kind of experience will this is an interesting something to to just put out there to think about time is it what what a form of martial arts that came to me a combative form very tactical very strategic and very efficient and streamlined as far as the movements and not not so much about the the Beauty and the dancing but more just about like extremely direct and extremely Just Close Quarter is what it’s called pekiti tirsia Kali and it’s a meditation of the the more Artful more sort of Dancy performance art kind of tradition in the Philippines of stick fighting and knife fighting and they have a specific kind of short sword that’s used but the the pekiti tirsia Kali Wing or branch of it was kind of honed for very extreme close quarter combat in a big chain with the V on military uses it and it’s actually one of the few militaries in the world that still uses a legacy traditional martial art with knives as well and sword so it’s just it’s at it was a fascinating martial art when I enter my life through through my instructor and he was bringing up in class talking about the Naga and the snake and we were using the sort of Yoni triangle is the pattern for the footwork and it just I knew he was also studying Tantra and so I wasn’t sure he was kind of blending and kind of mixing with his own sword Earth on what work for him as far as medicine metaphors you know but actually when I started looking into it more it turns out that there’s a hole. Of time where there was peaceful trading going on between India and the islands of the Philippines and so they were basically delegates of what probably was a some car a permutation and then to resist cultural exchange so they’ve got the snake iconography built into it there are the yantra type figures built into it and it’s just an interesting Rabbit Hole to to to look at how the fighting Arts from India and some of the Sanskrit language is well some of the mantras and whatnot are actually embedded and now the Filipino Marines are essentially whether they’re paying exact tribute to at their they’re walking breathing embodiments of the fierce Goddess from India and it’s amazing and so you know when I am in its it should be no surprise that the Filipinos and using their combative Arts they’ve with the indigenous tactics that were embedded previously and with the merging of these principles they fought off almost more successfully than almost any other indigenous population the world their history of success against the Spanish the Japanese and the Americans it’s pretty there like The Undefeated Champs of the world I feel like that and then I discovered that there is an Indian military officer who went to the Philippines to train with their top pekiti tirsia Kali Master the military I believe you would say he’s a high ranking military officer who is like the the Grand Master of that system of Pookie Trisha and so there was a guy like a members name of key went from India the Indian military to go train with the bikini Trisha military in the Philippines and now he does women self defense in India for women in girls who are just them obviously in India at some of the most highly most grotesque victims of sexual and and political social and marital violence and whatnot so yeah I just wanted to kind of see that out there in the conscious too or just sort of feedback loop and I’m just I’m really excited and curious to find again anybody out there whose Creuset mixing these arts and I’m studying these is lineages and whatnot so kind of with that said my question for you is do you feel that it’s your calling or maybe something that you could kind of advise or facilitating some way just a sort of merging of the the whatever color you or any other self defense strategies and actually integrating really practical self-defense seminars and training so that really you know young women can be essentially raping reproofing their lifestyle with you know what some of the more creative and some of the more the more Artful aspects of Glory but also some of the more street fighting tactical self-defense Maneuvers that you know you can’t really always carry around a sword and shield and do acrobatics it’s a different time you know different laws in different you know enemy so just curious if you if you think about that help you can start really giving people the tools to do to the Practical self-defense to see no friends my life who have been actual we Thai kickboxing instructors woman whose off it’s so important to learn those things especially you know for young woman in that it may be putting in the dangerous area something that that I am capable of helping people that have been teaching people women and men as you begin to move differently when you begin to have a new relationship with your body and strengthen your core strength in your stomach open your chest you stand differently every day from more of a stable Centerpoint and the way that that affects your mind the way that having that strong stable Center at strong core begins to affect your mind waiting think about yourself and also the way that people perceive you when you walk up to them that alone is a self defense tactic it’s also a demanding Respect by the way that you move by the way you hold yourself example you know there were studies done of people interviewing for this high-powered job and the people interviewing for the position and they had no five of them stand in the bathroom before hands in Warrior one with your arms up in the air your chest lifted your legs spread out wide and big smile on your face next Sammy like this for five minutes in the bathroom right and they had the control group and then the group I don’t know what I’m trying to say is the people who had done that practice of standing with their arms we are with their chest open with their legs spread while we’re all to be more confident more likeable and more fit for the job yeah just sending that way for 5 minutes and so that that makes you wonder really like the way that were sitting the way that we’re holding our power really does affect a lot more than were conscious power is not understand what they’re with their blockages are there mental blockages let me bring this into the body where does that live in your body and then doing breast and exercises and you know different yoga distance taxi change the physiology that story that belief that Spirits have locked in your physiology scientific physiological ways to heal and wasted to defend yourselves how to kickbox somebody in the head after 6 I’m sure also studies that would that would support the idea that the more self-respect that you have through self-defense training of whatever kind whether it’s more of a performance art or a sportive or Tactical but the reality is if you have a weariness of your intuition and you’re listening to your body in your avoiding really I am and I think that this is this is definitely not me saying that sort of typical really demeaning adage about how we know what was you were asking for it based on what you were wearing or you were kind of that whole that whole really sort of sad and demoralizing really misogynist view is it’s it’s not that I’m certainly not wanting to step into that territory it all but you know Point like to make adjust it as a scrubber myself as someone who has fought off Violet actress I’ve been in I’ve survived Mortal Kombat on numerous occasions just being on the street and you know I can say that the if you don’t love yourself if you don’t have a strong core like you’re saying a really you know really built up strong sense of self and purpose and your role in the world value for yourself then it’s easy to be seduced into the traps that Predator set you know and there’s always like a there’s always an intuition that can be heard before an incident happens in and it’s often reported that if you you had some nine sense that something bad was going to happen but if you desire attention or desire love that you’re not getting or just let your guard down and there are so many sharks out there in all situations whether it’s business or sex or just bars any words yeah it’s important to build that build up that strengthen in your eye feel like to avoid like what you’re saying that the conditioning a psychological spiritual and physical conditioning can make you avoid really bad situations that leave you exposed and so that’s you may never have to I mean like even Bruce Lee after he after he became a world famous martial arts instructor he was only ever reported to have been in one incident of physical combat where he was walking down the street with some of his friends in and some somebody Camp to him and he used his classic blade kick to the to the me to to make the longest weapon hit the nearest Target he sorted the mugging and the guy probably lamps off if you were going to do but just this the more you train the less you’re going to fight cuz you’re going to avoid stupid situations and stupid people and not do so many stupid things and then you know you have so much more respect for yourself and martial art training must have seen this type of training seems like it’s it’s more for us than it is against anyone you know it’s more for you than your attacker yeah you’re the most people yeah we aren’t we can be our own worst enemies and we conquering our own inner demons with the rigor of the will of them self development you know it really was photos well on yeah I’m so glad again thank you again so much for for being hoping to have this conversation it’s it feels like it feels like this is going to really help add value to what is what has been you know that that very kind of a wet noodle spirituality I love it yeah has so yeah I Com and our journey together will begin okay so David Bruce Leonard at the Earth medicine Institute how are you doing today welcome to the tundra Punk podcast well I’m baby myself pretty well all right all right well I was introduced to your work by a dear friend of mine and I I’ve been looking at your website and excited about all the books that you’ve done and I’m very new to you and all of your great works in the world but I’m very excited I think you’re doing a lot of the stuff that I aspire to be doing in my my pets so if you don’t mind give us a kind of some background how did you get to where you’re at now and spend as much time as feels natural and then we’ll go from there and talk about some of the specifics I mean like you I’m very interested and sacred sexuality and also self-defense I think a lot of those pieces were War because I was beating up a lot of the kid so ocean traumatized as a young man and well later on when I’ve always been sort of sexually precocious when I ended up in high school I I just part of my shadow and part of whatever you want to call that there’s a part of me that really wanted to be loved and accepted by girls when I started dating so I kind of fell into that and then became very interested and sacred sexuality and eventually that became clear that was a piece of piece of shadow in the shadows the parts of ourselves you don’t want to look at it so I started doing some work with that part of myself and began writing and it’s been an ongoing process awesome so you’re in what you’re not one of the Hawaiian Islands right now so and then do you have a dwelling at that Institute site is it that works no actually I take care of my mom so I’m in on Maui and my mom is elderly and I lived with her and take care of her I’m just here for her so I want us to be as good as I can make them awesome awesome it’s so that the facility is you have like a like a Healing Center and Training Center kind of Temple Sacred Space or no we do not miss is here depending on which island them on cuz I teach on on Kauai and Maui and the big island and Oahu so this place is I use on Maui as different facilities and places on the big island and on Kauai and Oahu also but no I’m kind of medicine Institute we have been different instructors on different islands and and then when I travel I also you know I teach another places also oh that’s cool yeah I’m actually I’m really looking into and considering that kind of more of a flexible kind of gypsy model for instruction and holding in creating space for especially the darker kind of Shadow work I don’t know if this is something that you’ve encountered or that you’ve considered but there is I guess I would say for my personal experience there’s there’s a lot of potential liability when you’re opening up these deep wounds and people and you just never know what kind of support they’re going to need you can try to be very supportive but I feel like a lot of drama and personality conflicts and issues and liabilities can accumulate in one fix location I don’t know if that’s something that’s like a factor that you consider or or do not the sacred sexuality week each is erotic body work but it’s talk to couples so I don’t actually do erotic body work on clients that’s not part of what I do I train couples to work on each other I’m so in some ways that’s what it mitigates a lot of the liability because I don’t do I don’t do any erotic touching people I know people do when I think it’s fine work is just not what I choose to do Andy self-defense work is is it is an already existing system called Fast offense which I I began to learn about the roots of that back in the mid-80s and I’ve been tracking it ever since and I become certified in that a few years ago and said that work is already very established and is actually very little liability with a self-defense piece huh yeah so mostly I like right now I’m working on a series of of instructional video tapes for couples so they can learn to do a rouse work on each other so the work itself code can be therapeutic I mean theoretically it’s therapeutic if it’s done with couples but I don’t work as a therapist with people who been traumatized sexually that not with the erotic Body Works and ends with the self-defense would you work with that Banda legal issues with a picture right it’s a very tricky work and we have to be extremely squeaky-clean specialist men doing this work so right right will this is against is so exciting for me to hear that you’re bringing these two worlds together because I feel like every time I start to open my mouth as myself a sexual abuse Survivor and you know a victim of different forms of non-sexual physical emotional violence building the sacred Warrior Peaceful Warrior masculine archetype within myself as a as a response to buy wounding every time I start talking about that with people who are more on the the new age sort of trip they get sort of shut down to order they get very hostile to it because it’s it’s bringing in you know the notion of fighting in combat in and that’s something that they would just rather iick neglect or ignore as part of the reality that were in and and I think that’s not really holistic good for trail in the world you know the wonderful and beautiful and peaceful place and it can be a very violent dangerous place and we ignore either one of those possibilities that are parallel that created the work that fast was originally part of service model mugging which was created by a man than that Thomas he created fast because he was sexually assaulted as a repeatedly in an orphanage and that was how all of this work came about so I think it and I think it would take somebody like that who’s been through hell and back and come out the other side to really create something as brilliant as well as what we the now in the past offense so I can totally see why you’re doing the work and you know why I do the work and one that created the the self-defense work right eye I was exposed to his material when I listen to something it was called the self-defense Show podcast and I don’t know it’s been defunct for years I don’t even know if it’s still available online but they interviewed him and I heard that years ago and I was totally stoked on it and I picked up his book defend yourself I think it still hurts very good yeah it’s filled with those you know the powerful statistics and yet his story would just bring you to tears and and I have always since I have known about the adrenal stress response training in the model mugging and all this revolutionary scientific street self-defense combat kind of restructuring martial arts to a more practical indirect kind of format I was very have been very excited about it I haven’t myself been able to access the certification training but you want to talk a little bit about exact or actually go into detail going to death why is the fast combatives different than going to a a karate in a dojo years and there’s nothing like this work that I’ve ever seen it’s a it’s a combination of it’s in some ways it’s a huge it’s a it’s a ceiling in Sacred Space ritual disguised as a self-defense class let me back up a little bit because I have a belief or an observation that trauma is created in a hide rental in state and pretty much all that I can imagine is created and that that state is imprinted on a body in that biochemical response in adrenal response I believe there are two ways to address or two more than two ways for the two ways that I can think of off the top of my head that might be effective in addressing trauma one is to recreate the adrenalized state in Sacred Space and give them give the body a different physical outcome which is what we doing fast wee wee is scenario-based so we will recover after a lot of work a lot of preparation we will recreate a situation that was originally very traumatic we recreate the state in the person going through it and then we allow we train them to move their body in a way that I believe rewires the limbic system if it takes on a new imprint around that it basically because of trauma is like a tape Loop like a record that skips for those of us that are old enough to remember records that keeps repeating and if it’s as it is playing in the background in our bodies and it often creates a kind of hyper-vigilance it really kind of drives the bus of Our Lives when we recreate the original trauma and give the body a different outcome it’s I believe it is changes the set point of the trauma and let’s the trauma take a backseat is still there you know but it no longer drives the bus are you familiar with Peter Levine’s work no he was a book called waking the tiger and he does the exact same kind of work only cycle more psychological song about self-defense the same thing with people have been traumatized in a sacred container and then gives the body a different physical outcome to the trauma that we do the same thing in mankind project which is a men’s initiation project group I’ve been involved with will take again a traumatic situation we we recreate a scenario and then with allowing the full physical force in the body to give a different outcome to that to that trauma I believe it changes the set point in the nervous system and allows people to integrate what happened better right right well yeah so kind of even though it’s not therapy it’s a form of therapeutic work that it’s disguised as a self-defense class and then the other way I think that one can do that his can treat trauma is again in the Sacred Space but in a very parasympathetic relax space a meditation space which would be sacred sexuality and I find you no different people gravitate towards different forms of that I also see what kinds of amazing things you can do if we are willing to step back through our our integrity work as man and create a container or space that other people which other people can heal I think it’s incredibly powerful Rite Aid instructor for 18 years he created fast because he he’s so well he left he left model mugging his do some political issues that he decided he would rather not deal with which I think was a good move on his part and he really Innovative so he took model mugging which is originally for solid days of tranny they turned it into a 4-Hour class and honestly Bill him as well as being a very dedicated Warrior genius he took the the model mugging work any concentrated concentrated it added men to the mix of men can also in this work and added weapons and really kind of brought model mugging and Matt’s work into the 21st century and said what we do is we you know I have a suit I have people I work with female instructors and then the female instructor is just as important as the male instructor because she is the the voice that she is not the healthy voice the voice of the healthy healthy feminine in the woman so when the scenario is going on she’s always behind the woman she’s always giving her information feedback guiding her when when women after they’ve taken the class when they have been assaulted and their body goes into autopilot in the statistics are incredible like the statistics of it’s like 99.5% of the people to go to the class when faced with a physical violent altercation when he’s women against rape powerful men they win they say they can hear the woman’s voice in their head going through it so yeah so we do so the female structure is just as important as the mailing is the guy you know people think it’s about the suit and it’s not really about the students about the teaching modalities in the pedagogy that is involved in rear I believe rewiring people’s limbic systems awesome yes this is a conversation ever wanted to have for a long time and I’ve I’ve actually kind of on a low budget adapted what I know of these principles certainly not using the name or selling it but just with my own no dating partners and friends you know whoever I meet I’m going to give him a can of pepper spray and explain to him how to properly deployed and how to how to hold it and when to have it ready for deployment in and if we you know hit the pads and do some some striking techniques on the pads and then I’ve just got myself a motorcycle helmet and some knee pads and actually found it with that where where are you where are you normally in the LA area Los Angeles I’m do some training would be fun it’s really good just really awesome you know that when is martial artist you know we like to think you know where NC techniques and stuff and then I’m not talented but I’ve been training a long time and like a three-year-old you know everybody know how talented they are kind of comes unglued around adrenal stress cuz we’re not used to yeah do you want to talk a little bit about that or what you want first if I’m going to say for all of the things were talking about regarding the fast combatives to me at it I’m seeing it in my mind’s eye because I’ve watched the videos and night and I’m an Enthusiast of it but to put the picture together for people who haven’t seen that do you want to come to describe what a minute or two of the of the takedowns and the we bring people into a container of salt container depends on this is just women sometimes it’s women and men and we teach them body language in queuing how to deescalate situations 90% of the fast work is about D escalating a situation so that it doesn’t go to a violent confrontation and they don’t have a lot of statistics and techniques and not but it is reasonably simple once you learn how to avoid a violent confrontation and get home safe and Alive you know once that so we do that we teach body language cueing what creditors look for in situations how to see violence situations when they’re on the way and avoid them and if there is a verbal confrontation how did the Escalade that confrontation I think the stats that bill gives is that I think seventy or eighty percent of assaults on women are done with only verbal intimidation no physical intimidation no exit by intimidation but 90% of verbal confrontation scan BD escalated or maybe higher with just words alone and it’s a matter of body language and what were putting out to the world that’s what we teach first cuz obviously you know if we can avoid violence that’s the best option I was just watching a video the other day and he said he said the speaker said violence is a last resort but when it raised our Resort is the only Resorts the only choice violence is always the last choice but when it is our choices becomes the only choice and that I believe that’s what we do in fast so once it’s clear there is absolutely no way to avoid a violent confrontation then we train peoples on large muscle groups to go into action and when were adrenalized when we’re a high adrenaline state which is basically in any confrontation we lose peripheral vision we get tunnel vision we get we lose fine motor control you know car keys and things like that and and we and we also get time to scotian and auditory exclusion we can’t hear so what that means is that we don’t have all our Resources with us what we do have continued to have is large muscle groups and so we teach people these large muscle movements big movements that are extremely effective that they don’t even have to remember because they won’t remember be able to remember the fine motor skill techniques that they will be able to remember these big muscle groups on my training partner here was about six months ago she was down and the beach here and she was attacked by a guy to come out of nowhere and punched her in the stomach or not and she’s not are the female instructor Sabrina that I work with and she she Palm healed in the face and broke his nose she kneed him in the groin she kneed him in the face and then she stomped on his head and then called the police and this is a very traumatic thing but her body did it automatically think about it you just did it you know and that’s that’s what we’re looking for so we we basically take a student and we teach them to deescalate a violent situation once it’s really obvious there’s there’s no way out of the violence if no way around it we teach them to cut loose with very very powerful techniques that basically finish the confrontation very quickly and because we do it in the hydranal and stayed the the the student it goes directly into the limbic system it becomes on autopilot goes right into muscle memory and so and we have to actually part of the training is when they’re in the adrenal stay when they’re done with the quote on quote we have them put your hands up and look around and we should call nine-one-one or go get help because they might forget to do that as a maybe other people in the situation you know so for me this is like I said it’s genius and Peyton Quinn and Bill kept are geniuses in my in my in my mind because they have that they’re not afraid of bucking the the martial arts system they just want to go for what’s true and what really works rather than going with tradition and you know people playing tag in their pajamas. I’ve been and what Bruce Lee said was you know Kung Fu is is is like a beautiful form of feather dusting when it comes time for I’m glad you I like to two point that that kind of stuff out and I think the the one of those things so I’ll try to say to people as you know those you see those Aikido Masters that have all that fine motor control and a state where most people would be very adrenalized but the thing is they are Masters and they come from a cultural tradition where you don’t just go one or two nights a week for a couple hours after work to have your hobby or these are everyday all-day training other people and not everybody makes it there an issue it’s not a they don’t I’ll make it they have to weed weed people out the students so the what you see in the movies with all this finessed technique of like a lot of time in indigenous healing Traditions or however we want to call it you know how to be sewn underground and so I I say that’s kind of reflected in how we how I approached this kind of thing even though you know today will will it will post the events publicly on Facebook and things like that there is still a ring to it that is about you’re not waiting for us to be given our our approval by by Society you know we just know that it’s important so we do this and and so like I’ve been doing this constantly one of my goals that I set out of certain point was that at least you know once a year there would be a community gathering around love sex intelligence and the rest of the time you know we haven’t online for him but very important for that hole project has been and which we’ve stepped it up in the recent months to make sure that hopefully like every month we can do something is to to say that the community around learning about how to how to harmonise our relationships how to defend our sexuality into something that is you know how uplifting our spiritual path is something that needs to be done you know with with with more support and so that’s why it’s it can’t just functioning online capacity so that’s something I’ve committed to we have we have been actually our next events is focusing squarely on sexual initiation I’m pink resented by someone named y’all Lila Espinosa is looking at how to tweeze mower practices that she learned in Peru you know have informed her own healing and and then creating her own initiation but yeah I also you know as an astrologer I work with people and often it is around relating I’ve done a little bit of like you know support for people I think what happens is you know when when you become a central figure in any given Community people will come to you when they’re in crisis and this is what has informed my my the work that I do around you know Rites of Passage is responding to crisis from a place that seeks to get to the root of what is causing the crisis which in so many cases is that there is a lack of of support and people therefore will resort to self initiation just something I’ve had to do in my own life and and see it so much the case for some of the other people and there’s another psychological shifts that occur when people an emotional shift that occur when people feel a sense that they’re being held that they are being that they can fit they can let go and have a safe space to go into those wounds and begin working on them and of course it would help if we had a little more guidance and how to do that but thought comes over over time you know we have to work from where we’re at and so that’s something that I’ve been in in the my own process of of my own work around here figuring what those things are with those tools are and Tom yeah like I said I’m not an expert but I can at least Point people in some directions I guess what we’re looking at here is that there’s an underground space very intentional underground space that is more conducive to kind of freestyling or rolling your own ceremony and just holding the light and and letting those who it call who are called to it you know it would become integrated into keep it at the gala Therrien and flowing so that you don’t have cult of personality and politics and all of the scenester Hipster things coming in and that’s always up in it and he has to be on guard against and whatnot so I see there’s that unfoldment in that development and then there’s people who are also working like stay in the social work field who are informing their peers and colleagues in those sectors with these Neo shamanic techniques or nonviolent communication or your where it’s legal and accessible and permissible you know legally again to be able to put people on amor I guess like prisons prison you Lila has a very and I’ve done some I interviewed her in the past and I’m a big fan of what she’s doing and I know she has a strong background in clinical social work and is feeding back into that sector the wisdom of of the Amazon and and Beyond and so is that something that you have I just thought I remember reading somewhere you know or talk to you at some point about how this is this is like you could be hired by the more formal above ground and sectors of social work or Community work with where you can be brought in to bring some of the stuff that would normally be or I guess it’s just that it’s a very interesting Cutting Edge of an intersection and I if I’m not mistaken that’s that you you are like sort of partially in that world 2 of of social work or is that something I understand correctly yeah I’ll I will string this conversation back and see where where I where I am placed social work as well as all the modalities of counseling and healing you know like they are all part and parcel to supporting and upholding status quo capitalist system so I’m going to like you know like you know also haven’t been in the punk scene also had a big enough impact on my my party now 13 m in terms of healing these wounds we have to look at that and I we can’t we can’t say like that are healing is going to be independent of the world that is reeling and suffering from the continuation of this system as it is and so that’s where for me like bringing capitalism into the equation is is something that’s real tricky it’s something that I feel needs to be kind of understood. You know we we can’t just rely on having sting services that we can pay for because that creates a gap you know where some people are going to have accessible abilities to to the healing and others won’t and that’s that’s not healthy for anyone and and also that it doesn’t address the root cause of why we need social workers to begin with and why we need counseling and all of that so I really like the notion of cultural healing that’s where more where I would be comfortable in any way kind of looking at myself as any kind of healer I don’t think we we can really heal individuals that’s really something that you know a person will need to and it’s not like they can be facilitated to do their own healing work but nobody can fix us we have to fix ourselves that’s that’s more I think a more powerful Paradigm to be apart of but you know I I I have worked in the realm of I focused therapy and you know I have spent quite a bit of time around the spirit plant medicines and seeing how the plant medicines have assisted and I do I do continue continuously work to increase my knowledge and wisdom around working with us plants and and that also brings us back into that hole realm of discussion around you know ancestors and working with them or perhaps that’s something we haven’t really touched upon but maybe she said it’s just that in any form of healing that we do I guess for me the important thing that I really try to bring into whatever I do connecting back with her ancestors and healing the trauma of how we were disconnected from those ancestors and how that plays out in any kind of sexual wounds or emotional wounds that we carry and so that’s something that I I I feel like the role of initiation and ritual can can really do and that’s that’s been its Province ever since people began doing patrols I think it’s to build upon the legacy of their ancestors and to draw and their their help and support cool said that yeah thank you for helping me understand the other parameters a little better and and 100% there with you I have I have been because I live in the United States where there’s different laws around no prostitution in in how that affects the healing with sexual touch and pleasure as medicine and stuff like that is a lot more yes I understand in in Canada there’s there’s a lot more interesting legal space in order to do Hands-On Sexual Healing work relative to the US where it’s completely off limits in so I because of that adapting to that reality and also is a permaculture designer myself I have to think very deeply about how to navigate this issue of for-profit healing work that kind of in most sectors is about like you said I’ll put in my own words it’s like they want to know if if the if you’re at a time of time robot that supposed to be producing a set amount to be a productive member of the of the GDP then then if you’re not functioning properly than the the goal of the mainstream social work or psychotherapeutic or psychiatric Fields they’re trying to get you back into the rat race as soon as possible and they’ll do that with drugs with talk therapy or whatever that is about avoiding through tissue which is the disconnection from urethane from a healthy holistic wild habitat you know a night as a primitivist I see that you know the solution to your Neurosis is to retry belies and Get Growing your own food again in and rebuild that fabric so you know there with you on that tension about right livelihood in and taking money for healing and what is he doing so I really like what you said and that just is going to it’s going to help me a lot looking at healing the cultural level and healing the if I’m understanding right and I’ll put a couple my own words on it but I feel like we’re trying to build the scaffolding or were trying to design the context for people to take the responsibility of a personal healing and gone to that journey and so if you if what would you say are some practical skills are tools from all of your things that you would teaching and training and a things that you discovered in your own journey to where you’re in power tools for empowerment that you suggest or are resources that you suggest people Explorer to if they’re called to do the cultural healing work weather for profit or non-profit. Some dance between the two or it and then what what are some recommendations for people who are on their own path and aren’t necessarily called to do the the cultural healing yeah I mean it’s it’s a pretty vast subject that one but I think that a few points that I could think about and talk about our that I’m going to this idea of bringing you back in the station rights and recognizing that in the absence of them what do we have you know we are we are sadly in there without initiated Elders so many of us and if there are any of Elders that hold that ability to to guide those those ones are those are worth their weight in gold you know there really is people that we should try to lift up and and give them their recognition and see you know and then in the absence of that it’s like we kind of by default Our Generations people that will have to hopefully fulfill that and reach a place where we can actually help upcoming generations to go in a way that they don’t have to completely go it alone and and figure it out on them on their own the way that so many of us have had to and so there is a movement around Rites of Passage I sit on the board if you passageways which is a network that focus is squarely on you no Rites of Passage for you coming of age from all different walks and and and modalities you know some of them are our Boys to Men oriented some of them are girls to women some of them are starting to incorporate non gender binary kind of approaches as well which is good and and this whole focus on bringing back the ancestors into looking at Rites of Passage is is starting to happen and something that I focused on and so that’s that’s a resource you know people can go to youth passageways. Oregon and look at what programs are out there and they can also think about how they can add to that list and bring in things that are needed around especially around sexuality and relationship which is often I noticed kind of a big gap in a lot of programs out there you know because they’re confined confined or constrained by the conservative values where they take place and you know what school system is you know this is one of those places lagging for that kind of thing so it’s a role that I think that many people who understand the need can step into and cultivate as career paths you know and some people are pig figuring out how they can weave their credentials says on Sexual Health Educators or sexual therapist or sexual trauma or no trauma-based therapists you know into this realm of initiation and that’s that needs to happen on a on an increased level the other I see a lot of because of what I was saying around looks really don’t how many Avenues to learn other than through you know what the books in the workshops and offerings around sexuality thoughts unfortunately are not rooted in in people’s only need two lineages generally speaking you know so the whole Tantra movement is pretty much so you know a cultural appropriator of New Age fight version of those Traditions that would have been squashed by Christianity especially and so I think there’s work to be done there and as much as possible Retreat retrieving reconstructing are reconnecting with our own ancestral Traditions which I’m sure you know had their own knowledge wisdom around how to how to raise healthy harmonious individuals with healthy sexualities from from the vantage point of how what little I do know has been has been done in indigenous cultures and without wanting to appropriate for them from them I’ll just give way of examples out of that you know in and certain cultures that are studied like the Mayan culture and I think to some degree on certain places within Creek culture there’s examples of how as societies you know that the children are raised from an early age 2 reach a point where they understand how to how to harmonize with the other sex and how to to look after each other and that’s just a very basic principle that I feel like you know that’s that’s worth kind of learning how to integrate into our family structures if we have children that were raising just to keep in mind that you know there is a need for them to learn skills around things like consent and around being responsible with with one’s sexual energies and and I needs to start before they reach that age of adolescence where they’re just harder to connect with if you haven’t built up that Foundation so that’s something that I think about will do you so if I if if we check out that the organization that you mention is it would that be good place to find and something like a more enlightened or more conscious like sexual education curriculum or guidebook do you know if people were working on something like that so if I know if you know parents who were going through the puberty of their child that they have something that’s not just this cold clinical Western and even though that sort of evolving a little bit you know with things like a sack didn’t and whatnot I see a lot but the The ancestral wisdom and you know the ceremonial Rites of Passage you know how does it how does the Modern Family say okay well you’re about to start feeling you know hormonal Energy’s how do we give you know create even if it’s just within their family or their Community yoga or whatever is something more than what’s being offered in the normal sex ed or what they’re listening in gangster rap music and watching on sitcoms obviously you know it’s enough for lack of lot of alternative options it’s one one place to look and we’re always looking for others so whenever we discover something then we will see to auditory resources and we are trying to vet those resources and those organizations to make sure that they really are you know at least there’s some some level of you know safe recommendation that we can give for those those organizations we’re not we’re not in the position to really kind of completely you know set standards but we are trying to we have a code of what we call it a cross-cultural protocol so we do look at that aspect that you have for what we’re talking about that’s you know if that’s another layer that we will hopefully get to eventually and I do know that there are people within our Network who are really strongly focused on this particularly around girls to women kind of education and and Rites of Passage and some of the Boys to Men once but I think it’s also something we need to to enhance as well oh that’s great yeah that’s that’s that’s what I wanted to hear so that I can just refer people to this ongoing and so and then the LSI is kind of its there’s a Facebook I’ve been interacting with the the Facebook group for a while so is that something you recommend people plug-in I mean that’s the goal of that is to feature blogs and generate discussions from those blogs and also to establish a resource of services as well as information and so that’s you know running on in a very limited volunteer capacity and so you know it’s something that I hope will eventually become a very powerful resource but already it’s you know it’s been feedback that I’ve received that you know even just the the group that we have on Facebook somebody posted recently. You know it’s really help them in their in their path which is nice to hear and I’ve heard that a few times and I try to curate that group in such a way where it’s like you know it’s trying to generate discussion and it’s it’s trying to be a safe space where where people can get into some of those I’m intimate revealing is of what what’s going on in their lives one of the things that kind of came out of love sex intelligence local as a connection with Tamara and the love school that they have which is a very congruence philosophy to love sex intelligence and they’re their work to try to create or with to create safe spaces for people to to share stories of what’s going on in their intimate lover sexual lives and and B witnessed in a way that is non-judgemental where they’re not being flooded with advice but more just being witnessed which is kind of connected to that whole framework for Rites of Passage itm witnessing each other and so it’s it’s trying to also look at how you know communities can succeed in their in their goals which might include you know like being more sustainable or being an alternative to the systems around us and also being a part of a more peaceful kind of culture through filling this hole that is often where things go wrong where people are are are not feeling safe to talk about these these human experiences around wounding around are our hearts and our sexuality so I’ve been part of a Practice Group here that has been circulating also to other parts of BC and I think it’s a really it’s a really powerful movement to be a part of yeah we’re getting close to an hour or so I have to take a few more minutes and I’m get a couple thoughts and feelings some responsible for 1 something that his is coming up for me that I think it’s really empowering is this like idea that wouldn’t it be nice if some of us started to think of ourselves as aspiring Elders I’ve never thought of it that way until this conversation and there’s a little spark of joy and me that that says you know puts in context the the punk rock lifestyle that I had of live fast Die Young and just you know if it’s not throwing yourself into the meat grinder of insurrectionary activism you know with this sort of Death Wish you know this martyr complex or whatever it’s like those are really unsustainable archetypes to follow and they leave a lot of people when they get to my age in about 35 like in a sort of existential crisis that will the revolution didn’t happen and I didn’t get killed I didn’t die in the gutter you know I mean what am I going to do now and it’s like well maybe it’s time to become an aspiring Elder and you know clean up your act and and then start to think about how you’re going to make it easier cuz I there’s a lot of things that I had to go through that I would seriously love to have no one else ever have to go through and if you know if we can live in that. you know that is what you’re supposed to think that I think of you say you know you can you can learn from the wisdom of Elders who have gone through and made the mistakes that you’re probably going to go through or you can just be hard-headed and learn all your lessons the hard way but I mean we’ve had to learn a lot of hard lessons in the absence of the eldership but I think if we take on that there’s a yeah me too. It seems obvious but really the way you put it his medicine for me to think you know it’s a dignified path to be an aspiring Elder and then it makes you not be so how do I can help you defeat that that that grinding pressure that oh my I’m going to lose my looks and I’m going to lose my energy and I’m going to be in the state of deprecation towards death and that’s very much the greatest fear of the western manicured Uno photoshopped airbrushed identity like you’re not really giving any hope that aging will be of any benefit in here just marginalized further and further so I thank you for that serve very much still give that time sacred eldership dignity not a light title to hold I think the true Elder wouldn’t really feel comfortable in it cuz it’s defining attributes of an elder that is really one that can help that role be the best it can be is one that is is really accountable is really present isn’t so on the move that if you can’t you know be relied upon to be there for the people that it serves now needs to ideally be in the in the fellowship of other Elders to kind of keep it in in in check in a way like we have to watch for the Cole group kind of phenomenon where people you know place a lot of weight on that person and in a way that can privilege them in certain ways and also lead to potential like power distortions and things like that you know it’s it’s only human that people will make mistakes and so having that kind of accountability of other people and also that time yeah you have people heart or a different there’s always like in every phase of life with the lifecycle there’s there’s like the maturing phases and so there’s like you know there’s a baby elder there’s enough adult Elder and then Senior Elder and so it’s just we have to learn at each stage of Life how to become the mature version of what that stage is and says just something to think about as well and it’s good to to get your feet wet early on in life so that you know we can have deep roots and and the and those are the kinds of people to like in the Tamara situation out of the black community they have a circle of Elders who are basically people who have grown with a community enough that they know the people in their community and then they serve a role as potential kind of like the Matchmaker but you know in a way where people can approach them in and ask them like you know I’m interested in this person and they can help you assess whether this is the right time or what is a good or bad idea and you know they can kind of that. Whole courtship in a way that you know really I think I wish there were more of those people around here don’t you let me relax you know learn the hard way what does that we’re just not compatible certain people in The Matrix the I mean yeah I’m not I’m not a political scientist of the Matrix but I will say that what got me peaked on the ecstatic trance dance group ritual ceremony festival thing was it really when I saw I think it was maybe the second movie or maybe it was the second or the third but there was a scene where they’re just getting down to like Juno Reactor I think was a soundtrack of a butt there is something beautiful about seeing the different the warrior culture Guided by elders and of course there’s different the archetypes playing out in Conflict split that to me was took it further than then the Star Trek Federation is a futuristic Elder guided Council guided kind of reality so that was kind of fun but yeah so that’s what came to mind when you’re at we’re talking about that be so cool if you’re early sexual oracle’s who you go to you know if we’re going to give you insights and maybe even have name your child for you or something cool like that you know be so cool but right on then will I worry about at the hours so do you have any closing touch you want to share or any other resources or should we just I’ll post the the links that you mention and I’ll definitely encourage people to stay informed and keep an eye out for your anything coming up you have any appearances or anything exciting like that coming up you want to mention I think yeah I think I covered a lot of it and I just wanted to maybe plant a seed while I have the airwaves here about something that I’d I’d eventually like to work on presenting which is around insert Intercultural relationships and also decolonizing our relationships as well and just thinking about how how we can heal some of these ancestral traumas and use that has as as a means to strengthen our relationships and also our society right on I’ll be looking forward to everything that you’re you’re expressing in the world and I hopefully yeah maybe sometime in the future we can talk about skill sets for Beyond Christian monogamy that would be a great topic so yeah how would you feel about that maybe we can sometime in the next few months follow up with something like that. Maybe by the by the time I’ll have more of a personal lived experience to a base conversation around that I think you know in terms of people who are already I don’t know how many listeners here are on a Christian spiritual path without that many but if the energy and gnosticism and sacred marriage not going to the alchemical top in the in the Gnostic tradition but I I wouldn’t make any claims to be an expert in that area but it’s definitely something to look at cool alright then we will be in touch and will follow up sometime in the future and thank you so much so be I really enjoyed it and I know it’s taking us a while to get this to get this done but I think it was perfect and I couldn’t ask for anything more so you have a wonderful day. tpp-victoria-and-nhan-pic-smallIn this episode I converse with one of my favorite spiritual warrior power couples about their background and future vision for the EarthSky People project.

We talk about the increasing rate of shamanic initiation, the path of the spiritual warrior, the reconciliation of low and high technology, the medicalization of energy healing, evolving models for intentional community and more!

You can read their bios below and follow up with them at: http://earthskypeople.org

Victoria’s Bio:

Victoria is a champion of truth and consciousness.  Her diverse and colorful history gives her a unique perspective and keen ability to connect with people from all walks of life and also pierce the confounding veils of ambiguity and misdirection that are so frequently employed by the powers that be.
Raised in the ghettos of Spain, as a multi-ethnic child, by a single mother, Victoria grew from her experiences with poverty, racism, sexual harassment, congenital problems and social stigma only to achieve high level of health as well as success in the entertainment industry.  In the midst of a series of severe life trials culminating in a near death experience, a spontaneous kundalini awakening, and involvement with occult societies while exploring metaphysics, healing and martial arts, she left her old life in Spain to forge a new one in the United States.  With minimal English speaking skills, no money, and no family to help her, Victoria hustled her way off the streets of Hollywood with brute determination.  Through a series of profound learning experiences she discovered her true calling as a herald of truth.

Victoria now focuses her energies on sovereignty, disclosure, exopolitics, and truth through her radio show EarthSky People Radio. She composes transcendental music, is an author and is co-founder of the EarthSky People movement, catalyzing change and providing resources for a new social paradigm centered on regenerative living skills.  Victoria has also rediscovered the “missing link” in truth seeking via ancestral wisdom and the art of direct revelation through shamanic practices in the Zulu and Cross Cultural lineages as well as a connection with her Star Families and their invitation to partake in an Intergalactic society.

Nhan’s Bio

Nhan is a dedicated Husband, Traditional Medicine practitioner, Martial Arts and self defense trainer, Bladesmith, wilderness living and primitive skills instructor.

A UCLA alumni, Nhan graduated as a pre-medical student with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychobiology.

Disillusioned with institutionalized education and work, Nhan has dedicated his life journey to the discovery of truth, and the exploration of human potential, leading him to co-founding the EarthSky People movement with his wife, Victoria.  Now he focuses on teaching self reliance skills, nature and ancestral connection, and solutions to the confounding misinformation, half-truths and deception propagated by mainstream media and the powers that be.

Integrating his background in traditional healing arts, classical and non-classical martial arts, unconventional life philosophies, pre-industrial skills and technology, and powered by a love and reverence for nature, Nhan’s mission is to help others live lightly on the Earth while developing a deeper connection with nature through aboriginal and modern wilderness living skills, ancestral wisdom, and a community of growing consciousness.

Com and our journey together will begin hello Victoria and yams thank you for joining me on the Township Line podcast go back several years and I’m excited to hear about their wonderful project that you two are up to these days so we’re going to try talk about the Earth Sky people today if you want to give a bit of an introduction and then we’ll go on to some questions my husband and I of you know we had a little bit before then so I’m more into the sky meaning I practice healing and I am a little spacey sometimes and my husband keeps me a little more down-to-earth and ground extreme you know like Eros in Skype at the same time they have a very common aspect with you really connect with sinks in a deeper level whether it is paired with any other people with nature with star families so I’ll be in with you know if you and I. can get it on and fix something so special about Mary it imagine if we create a community where everybody is welcome and the only thing that we needed to be able to to go to Harmony with one another understanding that each person is like a beef in an organ in the body so we’re together like an organism and together we can accomplish so much more than a little bitty idea the Inception of the what we we had in mind and we were on the way to A Primitive skills Gathering up north Buckeye and that gave us a lot of inspiration also because of the way that they set up a mini of Youth Gathering isn’t is village-style we’re basically seems like you’re no little primitive Village and everybody have a has a place in a roll and it feels like family and there’s a lot of connection and teamwork and I guess you say ancestral Village feel and we felt that that was something that was missing yet so essential in in life at Michigan in the modern culture so that’s kind of another one of the groundwork framework basis of of the earth fat people community movement can I have something cuz I have something bad about just say it all they’re going to do is bother anything but instead to be able to combine everything you know so we can be using our computers and have the most amazing technology while being in nature so I just wanted to make sure that. He’s scared notion that’s kind of paralleling the super Hi-Tech Stephen if there’s a you know a balance is appropriate technology and ethics you know of caring for the Earth in the process of developing and more guy in minded progress than we can all benefit from Innovation so I’m excited to see that this is happening with you all the contacts are from in the context of healing the Earth and healing the wounds of the more negative or darker sides of progress and Technology this is the worst Shamanism and you wanted to talk about your particular offerings in that area so do you want to talk about how you got into you or discovered the shamanic gifts programs and training sessions and what not to buy right right away. There is no certification in Shamanism reality BFF irritator like I am a facilitator for other people to connect with their guiding spirits and receive their training but I feel that the training comes mostly directly from and nobody one knows that it is in the illustrations are happening there life that means that it is not a lot of talent this week’s actually awake and you into what is happening and it helped you also going in-depth into your life so that you don’t just look at things superficially spell really really discover all the things that. Sometimes we have not aware of because you’re not Society we are distracted most of the time we are always busy going to the thing that we have to complete and sometimes we don’t go deeper as we could so we might case I just have had several things in my life including a near-death experience and then I joined I met finally My Mentor in shamanism and that is what really really put me on the bus I feel that even though the training comes from. It is very very important to have a good mental that is soaked Integrity of wisdom and that is really compassionate and loading so that some of the things that I I feel really helped me in my path okay awesome well and I know that your professional career going back quite a ways was actually in in the realm of being a superhero kind of perspective it’s interesting because you know a lot of what we stand in Ancient India that you know Hindu time they were they were actually going deep into these medications and rituals and accessing what we would Now call super powers in the actual translation of what they were called I believe I’m saying it right in God’s greatest cities is the word that was used for these different you know Clairvoyance clairaudience healing powers astral projection my location all these different super powers are being cultivated and I’m wondering if you know it as you worked on your shamanic path if you feel like there’s a residence with that sort of superhero superpower kind of shark attacking us if we were like a shamanic X-Men came we would have different superpowers what are some of the superpowers that you’re cultivating and in their healing powers I think I heard you say this one. Maybe it’s not as fancy as you would expect being so you would be community and compassion their superpowers do you know any pretty funny because in my past and as you know I have evening entertainment so everything is about external power sometimes and looking cool and things like that and I was so very much into the superhero thing so in 2010 I have to be at the casino program to Lee martial arts in Iceland is spotted delving into really being a little more down-to-earth perhaps you know not that I cannot go to the IDL super about the expense to understand that when we have all of that it is not about bragging about it and say hey look at me I’m going to be quiet and when somebody needs me I’m going to be of help so I’m using this to help all of life how can we tap into our food power and you said to support all of life in I feel like when we focus on our way more and more gifts are given to us so we are receiving motovlog power because we are not confusing it for being flashy or for looking cool we just have to help people we really want to transform the world so we’re going to use it in a way that is not wasting excited to get rid of energy in just showing up in this passage I got a few options and I ain’t got to understand a lot of things about how a superhero or anyone that is living on this Earth because the fact of Being Human and having emotions and having to deal with so many technicians are relieved I feel that that is to be at me around you know that is something that we can admire wow you know how can we deal with this situation how can we be so literal and yet so powerful perception but it seems that diminish if you like you’re saying if you’ve heard cocky with it or if you are trying to be impressing people or you’re not using it for the wrong reasons or even just having a bit too much about you go so I totally feel like what you said about how to get it’s a lot harder to develop those Federal Farms is compassion and Grace and then then to be transferred in El Paso I guess you can call it the shamanic me more Neo Shamanism it’s it’s it’s getting a sizing and popularity of especially in that guy you could call it the transformational festival movement like there’s a lot of people who are just spontaneously having Kundalini activations and and really like waking hours of a Seder different chakras in chakras system are are are are are weakening rapidly it’s almost to the earth into it to humanity for the people who are more towards becoming trying to purify themselves in some way so that they can accept and receive and work with his energy there really starting to come out of the woodwork and seek guidance so there’s like luckily there’s more more Elders now than ever who were right in a rising to the occasion to provide guidance and stuff we have you had that are you finding that people are freaking out at that time it was like there we are picking up something like a few do but after 2012 people of you said they are Awakening they are looking for something deeper they are having Kundalini they really are looking for a teacher a mentor somebody to guide them so yes I absolutely know if that and I am so grateful the opportunity to help someone because now it makes sense in my life you know I’ve been in challenges and I didn’t have somebody to guide me for many many years for me the possibility of learn the hard way help me out to really be able to understand many situations of or people come to a decision and they may have trouble with the dancing and I’ve been there so I can help with that and I’m very very own order to be able to go by that and absolutely everybody can talk into shamanic journeying for example is like something that was before check for the examining the tribe know it’s something that everybody can learn about how to Journey Shamanism then something different to be in the shamanic path meaning that only stop people may feel the calling of becoming food shamanic practitioner which means do healing for others in Death Valley for little different than it once I get inside calling. Some people feel and it’s not always a great thing because it means that we awake yeah but everybody everybody can do shamanic healing Reiki Crystal I feel everybody can do it for sure all right all right I meant to thank you you know when I when I started noticing from your post and from your your offerings you know online like I had I’ve been a little bit I’ve just been in my own Journey so I haven’t been in touch with you that much but I’ve been you know I’ve been observing you know the development and it seems like we strongly feel that you two as a married couple or a really good role models in it for in a lot of ways and I just keep seeing more positive elements develop energy has my heart and makes me have so much faith in humanity and I really I think there’s something that is a a kind of ongoing dilemma that I’ve noticed within but say that the world of of new age healers and whatnot is that they sometimes not only is there a lacking of groundedness much is the discipline of a warrior training but Peaceful Warrior saying that word I say that you’re if you know I look up to you as Masters and I’ve trained with you both a little bit and so I feel like that’s a huge part of it in and it seems like to to combat you know combat what what we’re dealing with that’s causing a lot of negativity on the planet trying to put together templates for calm lake spiritual Warrior’s selling Temple kind of environments that are temples were we can maintain a high vibrational state where we’re protecting each other and ourselves and helping people learn how to defend themselves you know spiritual self defense is what I think I see that be the future being so do you have any thoughts on what you said one thing to you about teachers or Killers feeling ungrounded I think that is a human being is very important if we want to kill Julie especially a physical body we need to be in a physical body so it’s not about somewhere else but instead to take the body with us and we need to expand that we are who we are human being human being so we totally need to innovate and in my classes I ignored his dad you know that some people is not be connected with her body and I know that before he s i b in teaching intensively disconnect at least once a month they come to class and then going to exercise and eat healthy and it is necessary in a few said that Warrior energy not that we need to fight per se but you need to be a Joann on your space and say this is my space and XFinity dancers my face no I am not old love life I must have power so it’s a perfect balance between the two sides thoroughly agree on. Austin Austin Rhodes at 3 to hear something that is involved in Jeep Commando of Healing Arts I would say an integrative approach that from the wisdom traditions of the world and also brings in the science the scientific aspect of it so that are that are practicing and it’s basically it’s a combination of Qi Gong and and Ricky and even some of the more biblical sort of fact energy healing reference and the way they’re trying to language it is is a paradigm shift in thinking about the cause of a physical and mental illnesses being actual sort of insect infestations or infections by astral entities that are acidic in nature and that they’re kind of you know sucking our life force and and looking opportunistically cracks in our oilfield so they can pop you know they can build nests in our chakras and take her energy our life force and so the the methodology is used to extract and remove those entities and dispose of them so that they don’t reinfect the patient or you know cross-contaminate the Healer and so there’s always protocols for stuff like that and clairvoyants have the power to see exactly what’s going on if it’s a surgery you know that the surgical removal of entities and I’m wondering if you what year what your thoughts are on that way of looking at this kind of medical the healing energy healing and medical sentence to where did those come together and you’re mine I guess is the question for sure Medical Science and healing very much coming together I have several students that are nurses and they are actually implementing healing for class for patients at hospital so they are actually hired so that they can bring healing to hospital to absolutely and the other day I don’t stop to Kaiser Permanente to speak about Ricky and yes absolutely they coming together and I feel it’s very necessary energy stealing the medicine. My perspective I feel the most of our issues are caused by stress and then you know when we are we NBA stars not allowing the energy to flow freely to us it can be things you can behave yourself and entities so I can be gift a virus or anything that is not of the frequency that we are that is going to just take a penny in love me something that is resolved by relaxing oneself Aaliyah more meditate in a little more and more in our society as we were talking about we are always on the go but we really need to go with him you know we are very distracted with everything around that everything is calling our attention and taking our energy so as soon as I bring all of them at the back and going back to something earlier about reclaiming the birthright to live in a village culture that’s going to provide the the maintenance in the care for the soul and the chakras you have to bother you in a physical body you know I have experienced personal healings where it became very clear to me that we’re kind of condition to accept a very very low low volume and low quality of has like familial love and you can call it tribal love or Village of left till you know the deficiency it’s a kind of like how are you going to boot up and power your whole system and keep your order a strong and clear if you if you have self-image issues and you’ve been up to use your traumatized in your relationship sir or horrible show the question of how do we amplify that sort of unconditional self-love and communal healthy In-N-Out in with Integrity that how are you how are you integrating that we are working with that like this just dosing people with pure love energy so that they get a kind of you know a jump start yeah you know I seen that in our society we are so divided so everything is expensive you know and we have so used to be on our own. We don’t really feel like we can come to one another and I feel that every time that we really can provide that feeling of community but they’re supposed to come and learn one of the classes it’s not just about leaving. Let me know where you’re starting your own power that’s one thing because when we are so fragmented will start feeling the same power imagine you know if we believe in the idea that we are part of the web of life and we are all connected to the Web of Life and we are helping one another we are supported by the life which is nature but suddenly you are disconnected from that you are fragmented so then you don’t feel that support then you feel alone you feel love you feel disempowered you start thinking that you need to find your food in the supermarket your medicine in the hospital and your money in your in your jokes so that you can eat for everything else you know just in I filled up. What we really want to change with her Sky people will it is to videos radio interviews is becoming part of the community. We need a place where we can act and do things not just talk but really put things into practice having people maybe come for a weekend and they can enjoy how it is to live in a community and he doesn’t mean that they have to lose their privacy we really appreciate our privacy as well so we want to have a space with more people is going to be on their own you know having their own space but then also places where people can commune have dinner together sing together this together you know so I feel that a yes. Yeah yeah about the kind of the disconnect and the the modern culture than we have now that is so different from I guess not not supporting a thriving in a growing a nurturing environment my people that at least for my experience one of the four major elements that are involved with that happening is the play lack of transparency and communication and honesty and just overall connection with ourselves with other people with the Earth and I think not having that is what is promoting this kind of the separation that that you were mentioning the media the government you know we here in the modern cultures all about separation into getting us distracted by the next newest popular thing as opposed to just reaching within and and finding answers within yourself and your connection with others it’s about woodworking in this landscape in this vile reaching at thousand years ago and I’ll work a thousand years from now and that’s being in harmony with the larger natural cycles in the patterns of human culture that we’ve definitely been a violent least ever from and position for an intentional Community obviously there’s been many experiments skin intentional communities and for a lot of reasons they have a lot of them has failed in the past and so now I think we have a lot more resources to to learn from the mistakes and I’m wondering what unique perspectives you all have and what kind of vision you have for the Earth Sky people intentional Community future yeah well frame it in what we know of the path menu path the path intentional communities in a lot of the current ones are generally based around a very specific unifying subject whether it’s you know permaculture are there seems to be a lot of a few permaculture Center intentional communities and like religion or some other very unifying centralized subject quite the centralized in that sense essential or trying to do is create a a new paradigm what our current society in which is everybody everything is such a mix of so many different colors and smells and taste all the varieties that we have in people and culture in finding a way for everybody not just to coexist but to thrive and to top each other to grow so yeah there might be some permaculture in there there might be a different you know a spiritual beliefs and save people’s all different backgrounds in the ideas to find that common glue that will help everybody to just really connect at that Village level while also we’re not wanting to go back to you know madik tribes but in this modern time we really need to draw from from the past and transform it into what’s going to help us now I was all the issues in the the we would have lost him that about what work one doesn’t work and we’re still experimenting you know we’re pretty far from you know what what what really works but we have a really good idea and we’re looking at it mostly like a social experiment know we all have our intention and intention of desire to make it work with the intention to communicate always keep open lines of communication because we’re always have issues and conflicts I come up as long as we have that intention desire to always move past them and re-established balance will always be able to do that Katherine and I would love to have something to that also some more things that I feel my house sale in the past is that sometimes people were living together without having their own space to move the people that came to our meeting they were mentioning about that they had the experience of living maybe 10 people in a house you know anytime good idea but if nobody has some processing their own emotions that can become difficult especially if there is not a good communication system we have found that communication is very important communication people being able to relax relate to each other anything. A feeling this is going to be very very important and lovely one of the things that are very important to me is commitment when does it take more time was thinking all this is great and I’m just something in this is some of the things I can say in the beginning but we are planning some people just think about meeting and having fun which is great but we need except I don’t think it happened once Bay communities built that means that some people in the community really putting on the work and I really bring all the other people just going to relax and not supposed to match the community so important life mission my parents actually funded back to the land training institute in the seventies and yeah they were pretty amazing stuff very cutting-edge stuff at that time and why they collapsed but they were they were they were I guess one of the the pioneering experiments and successes and failures and peanuts in my blood and my whole life I’ve been kind of seeking and studying you know Vista different types of social experiments that play was the Quail Springs permaculture farm near Ojai and it said the real uniting the unifying common ground of why people are there it really is it really this is his as I was told it’s that they’re taking responsibility to listen to the land and to heal the land from the wounding of industrial agriculture that appropriate gardening and farming the land is is there a reward for nursing it back to health and because that’s the intention that’s holding it together it feels really I can’t I can’t speak highly enough about how uplifting it was to be there again and they have some very very elegant sophisticated mechanisms in place to manage what is the sort of invisible this invisible sector of dysfunctional human psychology that every in the sexual kind of brings into an environment their baggage baggage and and if it’s not if we have a very unique way of acknowledging that everybody is going to bring that you know those and it goes interpersonal conflict you know into our social environment and I won’t go into detail about them here but but I strongly encourage you and anyone else who was looking at this who has access to the West Coast to get y’all get on their mailing list and and and try to check them out because you know I will say one thing that I remember hearing the one of the co-founders day is that you know they don’t want to get bogged down in psychological processing in meetings there if there’s going to be stuff that has to be processed then let’s get out into the land and work to get her hands dirty and and then 99% of what what Whoever thought was a big deal of drama is just going to have to operate an appropriate activity together and sister bonding that they do in this every every every night they get together for dinner and everyone goes around a circle expressing with their grateful for that they learn that day and just anchoring this really high vibrational positive from social cohesion where where they acknowledge Persistence of these negative thought-forms that are just trying to ruin everything and invite acknowledging them and designing and started dancing with them they don’t have to consume everything in NM people can get their love and nurse nourishment that they need for the community and so got Integrity in the capability to to help facilitate group processing and there’s definitely good some good models out there so that’s just my two cents about that a Visa for sure so we have to take that out and I feel that what you are talking about this evening the shadow so you know that’s why I Feel Love Nana and I have a little bit of the understanding of even with the differences and sometimes you know in the beginning we show our life and everything is beautiful in that can become very well you know I’m quite scary we have the intention of going with people together I feel it can be extremely powerful yeah holding that mission and purpose and a bigger picture so that the petty squabbles are are dwarfed by the chaos in the rewards of what’s on the horizon eye again I have to applaud you offer for being good role models for healthy relationship in the right relationship then and you know progressing towards some personal goals and dreams and not stagnating which is what kills a lot of them a lot of love so reconnecting and put some of the stuff out there so do you have any additional hour or final thoughts and we can wrap it up do you want to do something first no not I’m I’m I’m happy with the appreciate reconnecting with you and getting a chance to talk about what we’re doing is well okay so far me and yes I would like to see it out.
