In this episode I’m joined by the most seminal and influential male mentor in my life path of tantra. Destin Gerek’s work really set me in motion back in 2009 and there would be no tantra punk had I not been deeply moved by his insights.

As destiny would have it, our paths would cross and we’d discover co-creative synergy over the course of several years. Our mutual aid of each other’s projects and passions resulted in my appearance in his sexual self mastery for men online training course.

Com and our journey together will begin hello their beloveds welcome to Township on podcast episode number 195 I’m being joined Again by Destin Garrick a masculine empowerment coach I want to be a redneck reference back to our episode we did a while back now called the future of masculinity and neurotic media with Dustin Garrett that was episode number 53 where we get deep into the backstory the personal history and all of that good stuff so please do refer back to that to get some some more of those personal details what we’re going to focus on today is a discussion of our mutual project that I was blessed to be an actor in and into play some important roles in throughout the process but the real Mastermind and the village is the brainchild of Destin Garrick and is the sexual self Mastery Program which I know has had many evolutions and iterations over time and I am proud to say that I’ve been apart of the the late revamp of that program and it is really one of the most for me a inspiring works of art in and of itself and again the pride I have of being a part of it is is really one of the the highlights of my my life and career so far and I have to bow down to all of those whose whose shoulders that we stand upon a nerve in our past and there and really give the floor now to Destin to tell us all about the history of this program the how it ties in with with his path over time and what you can expect from it if you were to Avail yourself so yeah but that said thank you again for joining Justin please tell us all about it you’re broadcast did you see me once more with your audience and of course just the incredible way in which you showed up during our filming of the sexual self mastery program which I’m going to want to see more about my experience of you during it at some point here but let’s start with the somebody Origins year I started having sex when I was somewhere around sixteen to strive 7:17 and like a lot of men my first couple of times didn’t last very long from there the to get the hang of things and my girlfriend at the time I just remember one time where she was riding on top of me and she started to go into some sort of orgasmic outer space Galactic ride I don’t know what the hell she was doing where she was going eyes rolling back in the head body shaking all sorts of crazy sound coming out of her and I just remember looking up at her and thinking I don’t know what she’s experiencing all I know is I’ve never experienced anything like that before and I want to so I started to explore and look like how how do I experience the and the basic message that I would find is sari candy you can’t yam Wildman have an easier time coming women could you do I explore find deep connection to their sexuality and the experience things their orgasms I are just so far outside of what man can experience and I don’t like the story and a few years later at 19 years old I came across a month like she undergoes Abrams Seminole book The multi-orgasmic Man and I thought I’d stop by the book of course came home serving it and I was like what is this I had a really hard time connecting to it you know it was a 19 year old Jewish white man in America and it was a 67 year-old it is man in Thailand and we have different life perspectives that experiences that was the first sexuality which had its roots has the focus on working with your sexual energy to promote Health and Longevity well let me just tell you at 19 years old I wasn’t thinking about Health and Longevity I was invincible I wanted so I don’t know and I’m looking at these diagrams of a man sitting in a chair and these hours to run up to his body about energy circulation room so I put the book on the shelf and I continued on my past of erotic exploration fast forward a bit and I spent my whole undergraduate years at NYU with a focus around six reality and gender Dynamics well and then start a graduate program at San Francisco State that did not complete I end up dropping out about six months before completion and went to the institute for advanced study of human sexuality where their certification place a logical Bodywork and through that combination of things especially the Bodywork training I became a I started experiencing an ini team about it in such a different way than the way that was described in this book that’s how I started realize I am regularly having experiences in my body that most men don’t even realize are possible and then I had a man in my life in my community essentially who heard about my newfound abilities and asked me to teach him and I was like I don’t know if I can teach you but he insisted and I started having a call with him every week and asked him a bunch of questions and guiding him in some way and within a few weeks is lasting long and they never laughed before and a few weeks after that his first non ejaculatory orgasm and then another one and then another one and another one and essentially and I’m just too much I might have something here over the next year I put together my first liked video training program been called orgasmic Mastery from premature ejaculation smell multiple orgasms and there was a 12-week video training to where we’re basically I reverse-engineer everything that I was doing in my body and started putting out to the world and people started buying and engaging and after about a year of working with people in this way I started to really question okay some guys are not getting very much from this at all and other guys are going from self-described 5 pump chump to becoming you know I’m feeling like I got totally ejected and I started out very curious as to what’s making that difference and I’m sorry calling up these clients of mine and interviewing them and started to get clear like what are those differences that really makes a difference that was 10 years ago so I had 10 years of owning that that process working with now thousands of men through the program making a better and better and better more more effective and you know how ever I also was feeling like I am I spend the first 7 plus years of it teaching people like me sitting in front of a camera talking to them and I got very good at finding the right words and stealing those those those little details that little distinctions of what they should be paying attention to what they need to be doing however I know that at the end of the day monkey see monkey do I just knew that as well as this is working the success rates going to go up when men can actually see what this looks like I just try to wrap their head around it but see in a man in multi-orgasmic States so I got a wish I mean tell me you have you ever whoever’s listening have you seen a man in multi-orgasmic states with all of our lesser of foreign why don’t we see that all right oh damn it then and I I you know through conversation with him I got this really on the staff is really done this work he’s he’s connected to this and you know he’s just he’s not just talk he’s he’s got this in his body I can tell you’re too I get it from the camera so we put together this this whole shoot it was a really incredible experience and we found something really remarkable bring in leg film artist you know folks are really talented behind the camera so that’s why I Look Beauty aesthetic in the art and I also need to know that most men are not going to want to sit and watch another man just touch himself or three months so I also brought in a young woman who has her path but who could be doing the practices as well and we could stay on both of them and interplay the the two videos over one another so that you can both of you were to see how this works in both body and kind of override some a homophobia stuff and I couldn’t have said it better and described it better and that is really it really touches me now thinking about how much refinement and how much thought and intelligence and work has gone into arriving at these very important conclusions about how to how to scale up and transmit this in and really solving that that home Cobia issue overriding that bringing in the overlay of the the female aspect was so Timmy so effective and I instantly got it when when you said that and made total sense to me how much of a deal-breaker will be for for men to sit for 3 plants watching another man touching cervix East Jessamine wouldn’t have a problem with it exactly so now and at this point you have done since that has formally launched in what we might call beta a while things are still being technically ironed out then you’ve had a a batch of initiate suit of experience the full Glory of that of that program so far is that about wrapping okay well do you want to talk about the from your perspective I would love to hear what the before-and-after is for you as the tea now with this this this new tool set the ASL teacher it’s which on the video of the in such a way that the end users in their room with them like speaking directly to him and it’s the video is split into three primary Parts there is like the teaching this is like me speaking to the viewer through the camera this is what you need to know the second part is you is the demonstration has been and Caitlin are female balance on doing the practices again you can see what they are actually like in practice in action we’ve been it often is a kind of advanced version of it something in the reason why I close sexual self-mastery is Master D is a pass this is not these other three tricks to do tonight to be the multi-orgasmic man is a path to walk to something to cultivate what are they now you got to like give it attention every day I’m so giving giving this attention your path of self-mastery using your own body you’re on patrol the as the grounds but you will continue to grow I mean most men masturbate many masturbate every day it is part of your life now for Moosomin arguably it’s stress relief it’s a sleeping aid it’s a distraction from the rest of their life or something or they do because they’re distracted by sex and they just want to like knocked out so I could get back to what they were doing before but it can be so much more than that but that was Jesus frases self-cultivation I in cursive men to develop what I call a practice of erotic self-exploration and this is the differentiated from your typical masturbation I’m already has the reservation at this is what I do because it’s what I do is how I get off and also no tablets are what they’ve been doing for years decades not like since they were you know an adolescent or before and those would generally done to get on with the prime directive of your parents home and you need to get this done quickly and quietly without getting caught this thing is chances are you’re not living in your parents you’re not oh maybe you should have it a different focuses than what you’re doing at 4 and we have certainly not having the kind of control that you really wants a hat and then could ask yourself if you’re still carrying something radio quickly and quietly without getting caught, what type of practice do you really think you’re putting into your nervous system how you train your body do you really believe it’s not having any sort of an impact on that how you showing up when you’re with the printer is I’m having flashbacks to how I developed and why I developed in win the first time in one of your one of your interviews were you made that point I realized how blessed I was personally that my mother was the first time the first and only time she walked in on me if she didn’t bust me for playing with myself she allowed me to get dressed and come out after she had shut the doors do you know if she saw was happening to shut the doors and she walked away and you know I I was freaked out and I was maybe ten 9 or something and remember it very clearly getting put in my my clothes back on and coming out and in and being crestfallen and shoegazing and and she gave me a hug and she said it’s okay that you do that and I was in and and she also spared my foreskin and when we talked about that at some point in my development she said I wasn’t going to have you be mutilated so I had a head start on the left stuff that I have to really thank her for it and so anyone who enjoys the work that I’ve done in this program or or Beyond we all have to get it to thank her for being enlightened in those ways and so I don’t say that to put anybody down Who had who has been circumcised or has been more formally shamed in their erotic self-exploration Journey but I would say it’s please let’s break that cycle now and let’s let’s teach this this sex positive mindset for the Next Generation so we can avoid a lot of the stuff but that’s just a little PSA there I’d love to hear you yet talk more about what is in the modules and sort of give us the Arc of the journey that that The Miz men are taking very well as a particular interest in touch the topic but I do believe that we are very well reach our dropping and and we’re going to see it in the years ahead of sense and maybe not having the right to take a scalpel to somebody else’s body when they are too young to be able to say yes or no to it phone cases that we’re going in a heart in our society and our understanding of things and going to leave to a major decrease there so could you did give us the Arc of the program just outline some of the modules what what is the journey like for those who are experiencing in I’m pulling up so that I get it right so the first the first video is really about deepening your commitments to this path into this program as I saying it is one thing to buy a program is no that’s a truly commit to it earlier this interview I spoke of how how I begin interviewing man of around why it’s just determine why some men are getting great results and some man we’re not and the foundational difference that made the difference what did the man really believe that this was possible and did he believe it was possible for him and so now as I came to really understand how big of a deal that that is really that’s sexual self-mastery I mean I really have to do anything you really want in life that I have needed a major Focus video ones really about activating that places in you at as a man that that can to really understand that the pain and struggle or loss of not having this area of your life as fully dialed as you’d like to and then to really cross that line into into a real internal commitment to doing whatever it takes to create a transformation to get the result that you really desire from there we bring in what I referred to as that establishing a practice of erotic self-exploration out of starting to build a practice into your life that’s like any other practice whether it’s a music practice of sports practice yoga or meditation practice sexuality this this has an interesting fact in itself because I don’t tend to talk about it as much as men do carry their own version of saying around their sexuality and what were essentially saying there is I’m giving you permission in fact encouraging you to set time aside throughout your week to touch yourself and that can be a little bit of a brain short circuit in the best kind of way is on something to drink furtively so they used to sneak around so that you try not to think about who you’re not supposed to be doing a Journal Sentinel time to be with yourself to explore your own body your own pleasure and discover new ways of experiencing arousal in your body I got to move forward faster because I’m video tuned S2000 waking up with full body so men tend to be very disoriented and if you want to teach your body that’s your entire body is part of your sexual experience video for is on types of constructs okay so here we talkin about exploring your body in new ways like what do you mean like myself differently I have to go up down up down I look at porn and then I talked your way we go straight on Ben’s Cox variety maybe 10 different kinds of Strokes that you can bring in to get out of your habits and experience something new then we move into breath breath is incredibly powerful foundational to move Sexual Energy so that charge that you feeling build up in your grind if you don’t want to just pop out you need to give it somewhere else to go to training your nervous system to be able to move that that intensity through the body through the nervous system instead of just staying in your groin and your breath is the first of four primary tools to be used to do so w introduced record a note for no ejaculation challenge hopefully I don’t scare you off with this but we move into a 21-day commitment you would know port and no ejaculation now that can seem like a really big thing or something that whether it’s a no porn part feels really big or an equal in a message to equals corn I would certainly like that for a really long time and then on top of that no ejaculation this is not no fap challenge sound like don’t masterbate infected it’s fleas yes touch yourself and when I can ejaculate and these are the things that we’re going to do instead so you’re essentially retrain your system away from the compulsion to ejaculate I’m pro-choice and most men are not a choice she still gets it’s something that you have to do if you get around so we Wireless vs sarabhai take me to 4th to the 1st intro to it Galatians one of those things that can be like I don’t know about that imagine see under a picture in your in your mind’s eye and we do this is we talked about like building a sexual energy in your groin or just start to play with imagining moving that to the body in different ways and we found which was very powerful and for me and learning to actually not just be the sower quiet dude while my girlfriend’s you know having crazy sounding orgasms but that by opening my own ability to make sounds during sex and with my pleasure for their help me move the sexuality to my body next video Round Lake how to navigate neighbors and roommates stuff like that is really a further exploration of sound as well as overcoming shame stuff with the presents and how I like presents as in being here like not being caught up in fantasy not being caught up in fears or self-criticism maybe I’m too maybe I’m too fat or too skinny or my dick’s not big enough or stupid or or your you know reciting her or him for the manor I have a really fully being in this moment like what is happening in this moment being your five senses when you see hear feel touched your taste and smell and this is where is a real passion comes from your not in your passion when you stuck in your head you’re not in deep intimacy with all the secrets likewise it’s only in that be present that you can feel those subtle Sensations in the body that will allow you to experience these choice choice full-body orgasm orgasm orgasms gives take ravish you know all these are masculine like Edward Yong energies batard are great and fantastic and you know we also need to learn about our Yen. That aspect of being received by allowing receiving pleasure having done to us rather just doing and that I I found that there are many men that who include myself a place whose first experiences of non ejaculatory orgasms came when they were on their back I’m being Fox OC where or receiving had for the matter where they can just put their focus into what they’re feeling in their body rather like feel like that tensing their body needs doing movement then we can be talking Arch has a lot of just like in out in out in out thrusting Jackhammer but really we have so much more available plus our entire body to move in every direction and through opening up moving in our ships in our spine could really but also is our limbs again this helps this Sexual Energy is being built in the groin move freely to the body and then we can also use our hands to help get more in the body to desk is a movement along with your arrival Explorations books for help rid of stagnation in the body and helping start moving when we go deeper into the visualization process how we can use these portals together breakfast sound moving end relation together to really gain Mastery over how to move that Sexual Energy out of the pelvis where he just wants to talk out of it and how do you listen and move it freely and easily through the entire body with for greater pleasure in your own body and to be able to last so much longer and to do her much better experience as well we have an integrated all together we introduce partner practices things that you practice with partner if you have one is the program that was a great overview really it’s I couldn’t ask for a better presentation and knowing it as well as I do now having been is intimately involved with it at this point I really think that is it’s important I’m really going to recommend that people listen to this episode to get that that 16th overview that really wraps it all together and I think anybody it’s been in that the time for the world for however many decades would also appreciate this is the Practical where the rubber meets the road stuff that doesn’t is not dependent on a guru it’s not dependent on buying into a lot of mysticism it’s not it’s not culture-bound this is the universal human physiological template that this this is what passes the scientific sniff test and then so that was my whole point with that is that you know I have nots really deep it’s the esoteric round I have died even to Eastern practices and Technologies and energy systems and all that jazz and I also know that most people aren’t going to do that I need to put a lot of attention and quite honestly took me years to find me ways of really grounding it out that’s that anybody even you don’t need to you don’t need to go to believe in any of that. And that that was a big part of of my focus Ray and then in the production itself there are sacred are elements of a Sacred Space design which hopefully is leaving people salivating for what is that quality is there is an ambient essential quality about the energy of myself the energy of Caitlin and just the of course the temple space the temple home space that we’re in and that ended the residence of that so it’s really I think that is what I hope will happen in in your progression in my profession is that once once men have got this these fundamentals fully dialed in then they will yearn for that that sort of cliffhanger about what is that what is the music doing what kind of music do I use what kind of router what where do where do I shop for incense and where do I or whatever it may be that that kid brings in the leveraging the spirit World in a way that isn’t wooer that isn’t I think that’ll be that’ll be another dimension to explore cuz it’s it’s really all there maybe we could have done this in in a lab or we could have done is it like it was a Masters and Johnson documentary or something but we did it where you brought all those the sacred elements in so that’s maybe something you know I’m sure nobody listen to this podcast is well. Nobody but people are I’m pretty woohoo I’m pretty you know about that but I love to hear you talk about that maybe more about the behind-the-scenes the design that went to at the Consciousness and the sort of quality of the space that you attempt to just I think that you master at sustaining in your own your own production environment shall we say are you asking about it’s what we are filming there’s there’s that yeah we could talk about just what people see in the actual frame and then and then beyond that the sort of what did what are some of Dustin’s secret tips on his Sacred Space design and maintenance Pasa Fino so we did for for the production we did put a lot of attention to creating the environment and I’m part of this is my attention to Aesthetics detail but also part of the the masculine energy throughout history has been as a the holder of space holder of a life creating of a container and so like me and creating a space in which things can happen and unfolding by putting great intentionality into into the creation of the container the greater magic that can happen so we we create a beautiful and sexy sensual environment we also brought in the right people on our crew for both filming and bake a sound and various forms of support so that we are all kind of sharing the same energetic residences we’re holding it the space together we all holding a shared vision of what it is being created and for yeah I don’t know first like we we shot things that I don’t know if anybody’s ever shot before so we need to make sure that we create an environment where both you and Caitlin could actually drop in so that experience could I mean it is actually I don’t think Caitlin every time anything like that before especially in front of a camera crew and all these all these people and a lot of attention need to be put into making sure that that she felt safe and comfortable and he’s as well as long and drawn-out to have two for the deepest sensual and self-expression to come through and then again you did an incredible job after earlier consider what your did acting so much is acting to me stress is like a performance putting on something like this kind of fake and really what the environment that we’re doing our best to create would be one where you could put on something that’s so fucking real you know that it’s so authentic that’s so deeply intimate and vulnerable that’s maybe maybe is more than what you would do I completely on your own if nobody was present I don’t know I don’t know or like when you’re alone and I know that myself and the cameras are running it brings out of more of me and I can give it give it a certain I don’t know Showmanship you could say however more than that it is like I feel like I have seen happen to something that’s that in me that wants to come out that that’s it gives me an excuse and permission to show a more fully and that’s that’s why I fell from you that that you were deeply in your experience and showing up fully and sharing with us a practice that has accrued since we were mostly male true not entirely but mostly we were looking forward to shooting Caitlin you know that 24 year old female but with that you were the one who you’re weird I mean we are collectively and in awe of you during this during this yeah there in the streets I’ve been in my practice in different ways for I don’t know like 12 + years and I side you got a deeper practice and I do just said that how clearly it was that you’re so committed to to this type of sexual self Mastery of exploring and understanding your your sexuality and using it as I don’t know it’s emotional practice I was really what came through to me and in witness and you those are probably the kindest words that have ever been spoken in about me and my life so thank you so much it is it is it is deeply touching to to be acknowledging that way in and I concurred with everything you’re saying and really it is it is such a gift to be in in a context now in the modern world we have these cameras in them that technology kind of amplifies a deeper more ancient experience of a dynamic with group sexuality and group arousal and the I made an analogy of the other day saying by yourself if you’re basically what a banjo but in a group of people you’re you can be a hard if you know you could be part of men have so many of these emergent properties and so much resident come out that it really puts in a context and so it also that want once once I started getting into doing shoots and doing ceremonies in all of this more fun more social sacred sexuality stuff it then that’s when you really go okay now I learned from other people what they were doing and I like that with that like this I didn’t like that and when and then there’s more of a motivation when you are by yourself to be conditioning and training so that at your next opportunity to not just be a ham and perform and try to steal the show but really just to show up and contribute something to assessor sexual potluck that you’ve really you really bringing your highest best and most purified self and if that is the name of the game and that’s really why I feel that this this these practices for me or are really so about that mean when you say devotional for me it’s like he has some devoting to the Divine I’m sacrificing my my shadow element’s and energies to to those deities who would who would digest it for me and then Purify Me and really it’s so that we can I guess In-N-Out in bringing their practical senses so we can have more freedom from the ego and more play time with adults you know and then to have our desires wildest fantasies be fulfilled by people who hurt really understanding and Cooperative other in that just seems to me the reason for the season why to do all the stuff not just so you can be a better self lover or a better lover with within a close couple but hopefully so that we can move towards and evolution where were we are asking each other what’s really troubling us and hurting us some what we could all do to help each other feel a hell of a lot better and so that’s that’s what that’s I guess what what my when I think back into why what was brought out of me and what my we’re really intention is with all this is like we really we need to feed some starving Souls with this this Prana and thus the sexual content and make it more more abundant and less scarce and in so we can share it and it can go to heal those wounds that it did it really can do magic and miracles healing and I know that’s a big part of your path to and that’s something that I think would say way to my next question for you which is how are these evolved men showing up now with women and what are the women saying about how this refined cultivated energy is helping them heal and not just have more mind-blowing orgasms but actually heal that’s where my driving force really comes from I don’t talk about it anywhere near as much when I talk about sexual self-mastery usually if I tend to focus on what it is that man’s really what most men are actually driving for which is they want more and better sex they want to feel like a competent lover are probably the best lover she’s never had and like he’s not just at the whim of his biology but that he’s got two choices and so that’s that’s what I’ve built the program to deliver but in the process can I hear the phrase around like I give you what they wants all of the kind of can slip in what is they really need for sure so yeah I mean this whole program dizzy rewiring of male sexuality the me-too movement if it’s been any things that giant mirror to us as man that’s maybe we’ve received some slow flawed programming when it comes to our sex and this head this program yet it’s a it’s women women wants a man to actually be able to steal her to feel what’s going on for her and to be able to respect her her body’s needs and Truth is and some that feel it’s been largely missing from this conversation is one of the reasons why men have such a hard time with us is because they don’t know their own body they don’t know their own needs they don’t listen to the messages that are happening from within how are they going to do that with another person and so that’s part of what ends up happening in this sexual self-mastery process is the man does get in a deep connection with his own body she does come to listen to things that are happening in his body that he otherwise is probably completely unaware of and through developing that subtle awareness it becomes so much easier and natural for him to awareness of subtleties of what’s going on for her and to react accordingly and that can be a profound and deeply healing experience for her all again you have a way of making of the stuff that to me is off and way too far out and unrelatable and making it so so grounded so relatable and something that I think any sex educator on Earth any anyone who administers to me the the catching up we have to do in the United States with some of the progressive policies happening in sexual public health and in public service were going on in places I know there are there are European countries that have Pro masturbation Outreach pamphlets and then there’s places in the world where you will not get fired as the attorney general for suggesting that masturbation is a good way to to lower a HIV transmission and whatnot and interesting thought is that have you in your I’m sure you’ve just now that now that this iteration it is is reaching the point of being ready for Primetime roll out and brainstorming about Foo how and what Serta marketing efforts and strategies that both of us are going to have you know I have full disclosure we’re running this for my minor as an affiliate commission sales deal for me to get this out there so if I can if I can beat Destin to a sale I will get myself a healthy chunk of the profit so I’m incentivize to get this out there for and widen and honestly this is going to up my game a lot because now that this exists and I can participate in the the profit sharing then I’m going to aim much higher into the the it with the podcast it to reach up into this higher echelons of of men that and this is affordably and reasonably priced I must say and for those who are who are abundant at those levels I’m going to start bringing those people on the show cuz I know they all have we all have this sort of Skelton deposit but but back to my question line of questioning about have you who who would you who would you like this program to be purchased by let’s say at the institutional level you know would you like this program to be quote-unquote in the curriculum of various sex education institutes and and non-profit ngos and things like the the Woodhull foundation and get it submitted to academic conferences and where would you find this having a home Beyond just the squeeze page sales funnel get guys to the you know to park my tiny thank you for the ideas I definitely want haven’t you know at this point I’ve decided long ago to use business is my vehicle took for a change in the world and I downloaded the more of that I create and I’m able to bring in revenue from sales of whatever it is the more resources I have to create even greater things and on and on that side so you know I’ve just add focus on what else I can create and what types of boy other business people and yours can I partner with to help get this out but as far as foundations and such organization to be the value of this need even add pieces the day that they would like to see as well again I mean I think it’s I think it’s pretty widespread understood that this point that’s there’s something around the culture of men and how we relate to our sexuality that is in dire need for an evolution and upgrade and you know women are certainly making that clear demanding for the change and the like multi-orgasmic Epiphany is he could say I was in a relationship with an incredible woman who was deeply connected to her feminine and her expression as a performer types of circus girls sometime stripper she really wanted me to be more in touch with my masculine that I was in at that time I’m in my late twenties and she sometimes encouraged it but much more often she demanded it she made it extremely uncomfortable for me to be anything but that and on I didn’t like that at the time it’s either side is uncomfortable however in retrospect it was an incredible gift for me it did evoke change in me discomfort like you know men have experienced quite a bit of it over the past year-and-a-half transformation one more comfortable nothing is a change this is fine more uncomfortable and increasingly uncomfortable we can hit that point where I’ve got to do something I cannot be in as I can’t be in this any longer something has got to give and change happens Zillow Zella a lot of the voices that are coming up in the women’s empowerment aside right now or are quite often not quite often the are on the demanding side quite often they are and they looked like this is not okay and making things extremely uncomfortable and I I just want to say that it took me awhile but I really did come to a place where I came so relate to it as a gift it forced me to look inward if forced me to see what what what is often mean what it what what is the value that that I can experience from actually doing the hard work that’s you know it can be so resistance to doing the do the hard-working and grow and I did I did girl it’s sparked something in me that’s never stopped you know now I’m turning 41 on Friday to few days and you know I like 13 is that relationship and it left such a powerful mark on me because she made it very clear like you got you got to stop being a boy and you stuck into being a fucking man I need a man be that man and I learned how to be a man and forever grateful well that none of such a beautiful story and what a way to take a poop this hour and I think if we were a kid too hard for 6 ourselves Brothers out there we all know that we’ve been we’ve been voted a few times and had to question whether we’re we’re getting our male archetypes from so that Minds me I’m getting a bit of a flashback here to just kind of come through clothes now so do you want to talk about how this this program fits into an arc of of other modules of a of a program that is the evolved masculine past and what else you have to offer in the the what else you offer in general and and how this program fits into those other offerings and then I will get your websites in and close out all you probably recognize my life’s purpose and the anyway so I had in addition to the sexual self Mastery Parts I would say that there is three major areas thoughts of me and the company that is spelled p Volve masculine hours have been around a sexual self-mastery area is going to call evolve masculine empowerment again we’re at a time right now people speak of the crisis in masculinity men use women are rising in their power and too many men are either married or resentful discover a what a healthy evolved masculinity is and what are the aspects of our of his own relationship to self the way he thinks about himself as a man that actually is Old Blood programming and time to let go of and one of the aspects of masculinity and being a man that are actually really worth giving more attention and strengthening deeper and then it’s a really Envision a version of yourself like all your evolve Master creation imagine a version of yourself who has become the evolved masculine man with a healthy integration of you in a few minutes and then what do we need to do to help clear that Gap from where you currently are so where you are fully embodied in living as him the third module is what I call a understanding women in the feminine again like a lot of men don’t really understand women don’t really understand what’s going on collectively or the particular woman in their lives plenty of women will Hurd lived experience so you can show up in a way that’s not about losing Anythink in yourself yet too often we speak about these things this is this it’s a zero-sum game that’s like that men and women are in the battle of the sexes and one of them is going to come out on top and it doesn’t have to be that way you know there is a way in which we can Embrace her rise in power in a way that actually inspires us to become more what we’re capable of bb-8 see yourself more clearly and rise up alongside of her so she can heal fully mess it what are intellectually emotionally sexually spiritually yeah we’re we’re not there it’s a nice ass bending but actually becoming more and I process awesome and I can say that having done the on-site group fully present Retreat modules in the in your evolve some program I can speak from experience that the there is no there is has been nothing more unifying and empowering and and evolving of all words for me than sharing a space in the end I know every man who every man and go see that is got to feel some degree that sense of wishing that this this retribalization of the masculine would never end in that we would never break from that that core of a shared strength and shared understanding and and having each other’s backs and and supporting each other and having that very very very real and enduring open space so if you want to pitch that it for a minute just the different ways that that you can Show Yourself there’s the saint beasts online programs and it private coaching group and all that so what is the C-section so if you’re a practitioner coach in somewhere by yourself and you work with men whether your man or woman was named where we run a evolved masculine leadership training to constrain certified evolve masculine coaches once a year I believe next movie this fall the sexual assault Mastery Program itself I believe we’re using evolved masculine. Com which is the base where you can find everything I’m in Flash FFM sexual self-mastery will it will bring me to tell Paige to learn more about that and how you can get that in as well I think that’s been clearly uses direct link so I can finish him and in that process and are otherwise different some reason you miss that let me know you found it through this pain cancer through the we are in the process of developing a an online evolve masculine membership community so this will be a low-cost monthly membership community so that’s bringing together 10 remaining connection with one another and continue to receive value where we can create things for for you all with myself directly as well as the wide range colleagues and guess that and I bring in a monthly so that’s I believe we’re going to be launching that somewhere around to three months from from the time of this recording so and it’s April now to some sometime this summer began evolve ask alarm.com so you can just shoot me a message through and reach back out to you roll up another call with you to see what direction is going to be most appropriate for you and and without you can just get it onto my email list through any of any of those pages so that you can continue to be outside we’re here for you awesome well is there anything else you would like to share any words of advice for me on Facebook with Dustin gyrich revolve masculine and prayer for you always want to remind you that that’s our sexuality is it is our Phalanx Peds beautiful Alexa your your masculinity has power and Beauty in it as well and there’s yester sinks the intersect on hands and the best ways that we can I grow and spines are away is in the AC is with the support of the other men who are on a similar path you are just as committed to help hold you toward your highest you can hold you and your vulnerability while also continuously calling you into a deeper strength that’s where you’re at where it’s available to you never stop exploring and evolving yes I’m okay actually won final bonus round if you have time for it final question would be if we were to let’s say you if you and I were to collaborate on a another project either within the the big tent of your brand in your program or something within my realm or someone else’s production realm what would your fantasy be of what we could do together next to them in the future you don’t creating when I called conscience erotic media just two studs are our poor and model is not that great you know I know see my own path that we have so much more available to us so much money as possible as soon as you would have so much more pleasurable actually for both of us and one in like and and you know I can’t learn to my various experiments that I’m actually really good at producing address two dates as I know but I am getting some signs but the pieces are coming together and you know I don’t like to tease you too much cuz we talked about this many times but if if this does come back together and then the near-term of course you’re at the Forefront of my mind been and you’re at the Forefront of my mind because of this whole time I thought you were talking about you were going to release the secret files from back in the day that you’ve done with the some some lovely Vixens and also synonym for an elders and I don’t know if that ever doesn’t ever see the light of day but Friday videos to to somebody in New York on his test week early ones in like 2011 and they’ve held up really well. They still look pretty freaking amazing and still look utterly one-of-a-kind like unlike anything I’ve also seen out there again at the further kick in the ass to me that on that we’ve got that we got something we need to do something with it yeah maybe it maybe it was a time capsule or something I guess I’m I’m learning that lesson in more ways than one that the I’m really looking back at this in this is just maybe a side note here but but also has something to to close on with a Vibe it’s just that I have to be so I just feel so thankful to the energy of my youthful energy and and the application of that when it was when it was there an as the Arc of masculine hormones the The Arc of just our lifespan and energy levels I think you and I really made an end run when we had a lot of we still have a lot of passion energy but but there is a quality of it that invincibility of it that not thinking too far in advance and just getting shit done and now we’re really being able to curate the museum that was our youthful projects and that is very interesting and fun and they’re still so much that both you and I can do in front of and behind the camera but we both have some glorious moments that I just managed and so hopefully we will we will get to enjoy that stuff and we will appreciate that the Divine timing of the great mystery and all that too so we continued he and I continue to get older and younger we shot and create some really incredible things including with each of us on camera and that’s on now that’s now that we’re older more established maybe it’s time to go back and find ways to put those together and create something but can go out into the world in and indeed indeed will good Cliffhangers in great stuff all of this stuff is so beautiful and so amazing to me and it’s been it’s been yeah it’s it’s been a while since we’ve talked and hopefully the next time will be sooner rather than later and we’ll have great news to share and things will just keep snow falling in a really good way and I also thank you brother it is been great to get to know you and connect with you and it really is an important moment that that we’re in now with with this program and I can’t wait for the next adventure to a full then just want to be a wish you a wonderful rest of your afternoon and I wish you the best thank you my friend to you as well as for being bring me into the apart of the sand again everyone I can ask alarm.com Hutchins check out the link slats likely attached to this podcast and see how soon thank you all right take care of bye bye thank you for listening to the touch upon podcast please go to www.drudgereport.com and cook on the Donate button to help support the show in addition is to see me and improving the podcast for donations will help establish permaculture goddess temples every bite ecological employment for single mothers Please Subscribe and share your favorite episodes if you have questions or comments feel free to leave a voicemail at 818-275-1593 or email event at target.com Thomas Day

Brian Gross Pic

In this episode I’m joined by Brian S. Gross, a highly accomplished entertainment industry publicist who’s been making a living by making people famous for many years. I reached out for advice several years ago after discovering his unique expertise in my most ambitious areas: music and adult entertainment. We recently reconnected and I thought it would be great to have him give us a glimpse into his personal and professional journey and discuss  the role of PR companies in the evolving media landscape.

We discuss:

  • his early passionate and persistent efforts to get his foot in the door at high end record companies
  • how he managed to work directly with some of the most legendary artists in the music industry
  • his evolution from the music industry to the adult industry
  • lessons he learned from his mentors that helped him start his own company
  • the day-to-day of public relations work
  • the urgent need for PR in the age of social media
  • how to turn people on to your brand niche
  • how adult entertainment media is no longer one dimensional
  • how you can find media, writers, etc who will want to discover what you are doing
  • how you can find those who will want to make others aware and help build a fan base
  • his attitude of fearlessness and his “why not” approach to not over-thinking things
  • his application of the wisdom of Yoda, to only do or do not, but not to try
  • his words of encouragement for me to be willing to take risks to promote what I believe is important
  • how you never know who will pick up a story so its best to get it out there

Com and our journey together will begin podcast episode number 194 I am being joined by Brian s gross of BSG public relations and he is such a jaw-dropping about page I just decided I really do this but I decided I definitely want to read this to really put the context in here because with with it that the merging of the technology space in the adult industry space and actually to give a little bit of backstory on this we connected now it’s been about 4 years or so since first actually started putting out a press release and seeking really advisement and consult consultation within the the the pr companies within the adult industry to see if there was any possibility to get some traction doing this sort of shamanic pornography and feminist porn kind of brand that I’ve been trying to develop mixing my music and video production and ethics and politics into media and so I have really been kind of putting The Feelers out into the space and Brian gave me some feedback back in the day and we have serendipitously reconnected recently and so I thought why not let’s have a butt supposed to connect in in this podcast domain and again I’m astounded by what he’s accomplished in some of the parallels in our Journeys here so I’m just going to go ahead and read the about page and then we’ll get started with the interview so Jared is BSG public relations takes a precise and strategic company said Steve American recordings Warner Brothers records reprise records Elektra Entertainment Group Vivid Entertainment Group and such organizations as the Lollapalooza tour Brian Gross was an executive producer for Rio TX the search for Adam and Eve his background includes all facets of public and media relations working with some of the largest businesses celebrities and music acts in the world Brian thank you so much for joining me on the podcast and please tell us all about your personal Journey how did you get into this position of such influence and expertise school is my senior year and I’m a I’m a big Sports person as well and I was not good enough to make the varsity basketball team but wound up helping out with the younger teams and I want to getting fired for verbally assaulting a referee who completely screwed up a game and all of a sudden I had free time and I literally took out my CD collection which I know that sounds so funny in this day and age but went through it and started calling record labels and pretty much got blown off by many of them because I was a senior in high school they were looking for college kids and one label an independent label def American the girl who answered the phone was in the PR department and she still one of my best friends to the stay cuz she called she I said come in for an interview and before I knew it I was driving after school three days a week from Newbury Park California to Burbank to make press kits and learn all about the music industry well that is exciting so what were some of the what what are some of the bands in an album is like what were you into at the time I was definitely a classic rock kid a NuWave and I just wasn’t you know I was sort of what the radio fed me so you know I hadn’t really branched out as far as my music likings were concerned and you know early 90s you know 90 to 91 92 you realize just how there was no such a divided because you know really popular stuff was extremely poppy you were on the end of sort of the metal era you had this grunge thing happening you had this sort of underground music thing happening you had punk rock obviously happening but I grew up in the suburbs and and it just didn’t resonate with me at the time you know then you go to a record label and you start going through the CDs and you just start this massive Discovery and bands walk in and you meet people and you spend time with artists and musicians and it just completely through open a world that I was you know I was aware but I wasn’t aware to that extent and it was pretty exciting to just see the variety especially at this specific record label the variety of of music that was being put out and and how exciting it was awesome so from there so what how to tell us the story of how you evolved from the doing stuff mostly in the music and more and more General entertainment business into the adult industry which I see you have a lot of accolades from so I I mean I work my way up in the record industry from 93 to 99 I I was took a couple internships than an assistant job than a West Coast tour tour publicist West Coast Regional tour publicist job and then I saw what master was doing and I realized you know as a as a low man on the totem pole in the satellite office for record label I better figure something out and literally fell in my lap where two people one of which had this specific that had this position and and the other was the brother of the owner of the company hit me up and said hey you know you should interview for this job that’s going to open up to be the head of PR and marketing for a company called Vivid which I was obviously very familiar with as a young male and so the money was a lot more and the opportunity was there and it was just one of those things I was 23 and I wasn’t going to say no I couldn’t pass it up so I became the head of PR and marketing for Vivid Entertainment in the spring of 99 while you were busy absorbing all of this until from the corporate world and very established Enterprises and then you’re building essentially what will become your your own personal company and brand can you tell us about some of the some of the lessons you learned some of the highlights of of your journey along that way if kind of building your own becoming an entrepreneur as opposed to an employee working for Stephen her she had a very hands-off approach you know he wanted me to practice the way I had learned doing publicity at the record labels and bring that same approach to the adult film stars that were under contract with this company and to the company itself so I really had this sort of open book of you no opportunities and and and really just publicizing a a massive brand his thing was don’t spend any money which you know you laugh at but it was pretty when you when you eliminate budgets and you have to be creative that’s that made you have to work relationships in and put ideas out there and look for opportunities that I think in this day and age we wouldn’t even think twice about it but at the time we’re pretty groundbreaking you know so you know what that in mind it just became abaa I learned so much from that that when I went on my own I took sort of his entrepreneurship of run Dino of starting and running a massive adult entertainment company with what I learned is being a publicist and I’m just sort of found my way I had some incredible mentors the forest publicist go ahead incredible mentors who you know I went to when I started my company said how to what am I doing how do I do this you know and they were so giving and and so just easy you know so open Armon and I’m just taught me so much in a really short. Of time to where I was just off and running and getting clients and doing what I’ve been doing what I could I mean for me getting up every day and doing my job isn’t necessarily hard and I think I’m fortunate that I have that s Ellison and work ethic that I know is very challenging for many people but you know I just learned quickly I could get a lot of clients and and synergize and and do a lot for them and and just sort of Broad and from there awesome yeah I’m having flashbacks to reading a book called guerrilla marketing back when I was doing start up stuff and and it really did get a budget mattered so you had to teach you had to be creative and you had to think out-of-the-box so I can I can resonate with that and I remember one of a CEO for a company I work for has said you know the difference if there’s a difference between marketing and PR and marketing is what you say about yourself in PR is what other people say about you and you really really want to have that that perspective that that’s where the third person perspective in your printing and copying in to have it buffering so that the artists and the company’s don’t aren’t doing all of that he’s some kind of damage control I guess you could say and sometimes they just that stuff that Shameless self-promotion that people people can see through it on the on the receiving end and then on the giving end you’d rather not be tooting your own horn so much so it’s a really vital function that you play in the in the ecosystem of have any kind of business and I love to hear about just soap for people who aren’t that well versed in what a publicist does it would appear our company does tell us about the sort of day today and I’m kind of break it down for people who might not know famous for a living right you know the longer sort of breakdown of that is you know celebrities Brands companies hire a publicist to get there messaging in there and what they have to sell out there to the media which is then you know red watched listen to buy hopefully millions and increases sales increases exposure and increases the the growth of of whatever the brand or the company or the person is so it’s an aspect of marketing but it’s solely deals with sort of the public Persona and then obviously the media which radio TV print and online are the four basics of that and obviously they in this day and age you know what you know podcast would kind of be filed under radio but it’s also online it’s audio but there’s there can be a video component that can be a a written component so you have a lot of Lines Blurred when it comes to the media nowadays and I just think for me it’s important for my clients in this day and age there’s so much opportunity there so many ways to get your message out there and you know me and you know my team and and myself we look to find those opportunities finals relationships and and do everything we can for clients to to accomplish the goals that they have female except for us how’s your job gotten more difficult at all or more challenging in the age of social media where you have the potential for celebrities to put their foot in their mouth to and create these Mega backlashes online that you kind of do have to do some some damage control on that do you have any thoughts what the the social media landscape has done for your industry herself you know social media gives you a way to do a more immediate Outreach but sometimes you have to be careful clients have to be careful what they say out there you know what I work more left-of-center stuff where you know I’m not working conservative projects that you know they have to be really careful what they say but certainly at I work with clients that you know we talked about messaging and we talked about what they put out there and make sure we’re on the right we’re on the right track and we’re in agreement and on the right path but I think social media you know I think it’s it’s positive it’s certainly a life-changing things it certainly has changed the landscape of society and and whatnot on a larger scale but you’re not the end of the day we all are just fascinated by other people and they do so it just open doors opens doors in that respect what do you know actually makes me think about how it made some sense you talking about Dimension to have the image of Tower Records on Sunset and I’m just the decline of the record industry and all of the digitization of all kinds of media and how that took a big chunk out of profits for a lot of folks in an industry but when I based on what you were just say no actually realized you might think that the same thing would happen to PR once people could become demigod celebrities on social media by themselves but the reality is they probably need to hire a publicist more than ever because you need that filter right you need that you need someone to advise you on on the strategies of how you express yourself because it’s so easy to just fire something off that just Neo take sweat they say it could take 5 years to build a career in 5 seconds to destroy rights and all I would add to it is you know you need you need someone in my position when you have something that is so public and you need someone that can help you because a lot of times there is a lot of Crisis and a lot of people don’t know what to do and we’ve certainly witnessed over the years when when things go wrong or how you know when things are handled poorly and you know we live at a time where the media is constantly attacked so they’re going to attack that so you want to be on the right side of things and you want you know if you want to handle your media aspect as professionals possible and it’s there are challenges you know I’m not a brain surgeon this isn’t brain surgery by any any respect but it’s an important part of the marketing and sales aspect and the overall brand awareness of who you are and what you’re trying to accomplish yeah I think that was a good real basic intro and overview and just kind of hammers hammers in that this part of the ecosystem of success as a creative artist is not is not going away in or should it and so it was it is a breath of fresh air and I think about it a lot I think about a lot how how to moderate myself and there’s a lot of fear and and hesitation in this climate of you know you can really you can really put your foot in your mouth so I I I think it says probably at yeah it’s it’s been on my mind you know this whole your sector of industry and where it’s at so this is timely for me until I guess I would say to be somewhat selfish for a moment here with the last few minutes I would say that I guess bringing this back to what my my unique value proposition is to the world as my representing myself and my brain really it is I guess it is kind of element in a way I’m saying sexuality and pornography and all forms of of music and art they can all actually be very healing and very therapeutic and there’s almost a bias against that because people sometimes in some sense people want to just have really either extremely kind of edgy entertainment that just gets them off sexually or titillates them or sort of just appeals to that Hollywood sense of just completely not necessarily that intentional or that healing or that spiritual and so there’s kind of a bias against what I’m offering which could be seen his kind of all you’re you’re just a goody-two-shoes you’re kind of a mama’s boy you want people to be meditating and doing yoga and actually it might my sort of reply to that that biases that actually know what what some of the practices that are done in shamanic Sexual Healing Sarah on your work are actually equally if not more extreme and in and actually riveting and and put you on the edge of your seat as is anything that would be considered Gonzo or Triple X Ino Xtreme Hardcore and it really is Hardcore to be doing some of the more spiritual aspects of sexuality so when I I put out a press release I don’t know if that was the one that you saw or if that was a wet what the time frame was around that but I would just say to you do you think there is a niche for what would I would call shamanic pornography or pouring that intense did not only educate but also to promote healing and healing from trauma and and what not yours if not longer you know when I first got in the industry as far as adult entertainment goes is very one-dimensional especially the media coverage and it was all about getting eyeballs because you could use the word pornography in a way that you know people be like oh what what it what are they going to talk about and then then then there was a change in the change happened when media like Vice came along and media like BuzzFeed and and other media that said to a certain extent and we’re not going to just treat this as one-dimensional because it isn’t a one-dimensional discussion it is in a one-dimensional product you know as as the adult industry expanded I found it interesting that the media expanded in their coverage and you have certainly the negatives does the word in general is certainly looked at in a negative way and I rarely use it I say it because of that is once you say that word and it’s you know maybe one day it’ll be changed or looked at not as this glaring sing but as a form of entertainment form of Education a form of you know healing as as you as you work on but the media look to do more coverage and be more multi-dimensional and to what you’re trying to accomplish and what you’re doing what you’re doing and what you’re trying to accomplish to my point is you can find media that’s not easy but you can find people you can find writers you can find me there you can find public entities you can find people that will want to discover what you are doing and will want to make others aware and will want to build the foundation and build a fanbase in and build a unit around it so which is not the issue these days the issues speed of time and the issue is just sort of the you know overwhelming amount of media that we deal with everyday especially in our current political climate where we’re being overdosed with one piece of toxic news after another and end toxic not men the political fashion just met met you know we’re bombarded with different types of briefs and stories and just aspects of life that can that are just so fast and furious and you’re trying to fit in there you know you’re almost trying to swim upstream and place you know place your story on a rock while well water keeps hitting in the face so I I I constantly am taking on opportunities and clients and different types of niches and different types of products and different types of stories because I know who’s to say that I know what a media person will want to write about or not I don’t what I do is I give them the opportunity and I find out hey is this is this interesting do you want to do this do you want to cover this and it’s yes or no or mid might be a maybe or they’re on the fence or they’ll think about it and we did we discuss it and see what happens so it’s just a the media is a constant River at how do I get it out there and and what you know how many people can I turn on to what I have to build from from where I’m at well those are profound words of wisdom and I’ve got chills because I know Ben Tantra Punk PicIn this episode I share a rebroadcast of my interview on the Proof of Love podcast, below is the original show notes, please subscribe to Proof of Love!

What can one say about a crypto tantric episode other than wow.  This is our spiciest Proof of Love yet! Ben Tantra Punk joined Stephanie and I to discuss this ancient practice.  In between a few laughs and blushes, we get a great overview of tantric lovemaking, how it’s different from regular lovemaking, the history of why there is tantric sex in the first place, and the joys of the female orgasm.  We went a bit over on time, but I don’t think you will mind with this subject matter! We need more love in our lives, and this episode will show you how to put some of these teachings into practice, even if calling each other goddess in bed is a little uncomfortable.

Com and our journey together will begin podcast episode number 194 I am being joined by Brian s gross of BSG public relations and he is such a jaw-dropping about page I just decided I really do this but I decided I definitely want to read this to really put the context in here because with with it that the merging of the technology space in the adult industry space and actually to give a little bit of backstory on this we connected now it’s been about 4 years or so since first actually started putting out a press release and seeking really advisement and consult consultation within the the the pr companies within the adult industry to see if there was any possibility to get some traction doing this sort of shamanic pornography and feminist porn kind of brand that I’ve been trying to develop mixing my music and video production and ethics and politics into media and so I have really been kind of putting The Feelers out into the space and Brian gave me some feedback back in the day and we have serendipitously reconnected recently and so I thought why not let’s have a butt supposed to connect in in this podcast domain and again I’m astounded by what he’s accomplished in some of the parallels in our Journeys here so I’m just going to go ahead and read the about page and then we’ll get started with the interview so Jared is BSG public relations takes a precise and strategic world Brian thank you so much for joining me on the podcast and please tell us all about your personal Journey how did you get into this position of such influence and expertise school is my senior year and I’m a I’m a big Sports person as well and I was not good enough to make the varsity basketball team but wound up helping out with the younger teams and I want to getting fired for verbally assaulting a referee who completely screwed up a game and all of a sudden I had free time and I literally took out my CD collection which I know that sounds so funny in this day and age but went through it and started calling record labels and pretty much got blown off by many of them because I was a senior in high school they were looking for college kids and one label an independent label def American the girl who answered the phone was in the PR department and she still one of my best friends to the stay cuz she called she I said come in for an interview and before I knew it I was driving after school three days a week from Newbury Park California to Burbank to make press kits and learn all about the music industry well that is exciting so what were some of the what what are some of the bands in an album is like what were you into at the time I was definitely a classic rock kid a NuWave and I just wasn’t you know I was sort of what the radio fed me so you know I hadn’t really branched out as far as my music likings were concerned and you know early 90s you know 90 to 91 92 you realize just how there was no such a divided because you know really popular stuff was extremely poppy you were on the end of sort of the metal era you had this grunge thing happening you had this sort of underground music thing happening you had punk rock obviously happening but I grew up in the suburbs and and it just didn’t resonate with me at the time you know then you go to a record label and you start going through the CDs and you just start this massive Discovery and bands walk in and you meet people and you spend time with artists and musicians and it just completely through open a world that I was you know I was aware but I wasn’t aware to that extent and it was pretty exciting to just see the variety especially at this specific record label the variety of of music that was being put out and and how exciting it was awesome so from there so what how to tell us the story of how you evolved from the doing stuff mostly in the music and more and more General entertainment business into the adult industry which I see you have a lot of accolades from so I I mean I work my way up in the record industry from 93 to 99 I I was took a couple internships than an assistant job than a West Coast tour tour publicist West Coast Regional tour publicist job and then I saw what Napster was doing and I realized you know as a as a low man on the totem pole in the satellite office for record label I better figure something out and literally fell in my lap where two people one of which had this specific that had this position and and the other was the brother of the owner of the company hit me up and said hey you know you should interview for this job that’s going to open up to be the head of PR and marketing for a company called Vivid which I was obviously very familiar with as a young male and so the money was a lot more and the opportunity was there and it was just one of those things I was 23 and I wasn’t going to say no I couldn’t pass it up so I became the head of PR and marketing for Vivid Entertainment in the spring of 99 while you were busy absorbing all of this until from the corporate world and very established Enterprises and then you’re building essentially what will become your your own personal company and brand can you tell us about some of the some of the lessons you learned some of the highlights of of your journey along that way if kind of building your own becoming an entrepreneur as opposed to an employee working for Stephen her she had a very hands-off approach you know he wanted me to practice the way I had learned doing publicity at the record labels and bring that same approach to the adult film stars that were under contract with this company and to the company itself so I really had this sort of open book of you no opportunities and and and really just publicizing a a massive brand his thing was don’t spend any money which you know you laugh at but it was pretty when you when you eliminate budgets and you have to be creative that’s that made you have to work relationships in and put ideas out there and look for opportunities that I think in this day and age we wouldn’t even think twice about it but at the time we’re pretty groundbreaking you know so you know what that in mind it just became abaa I learned so much from that that when I went on my own I took sort of his entrepreneurship of run Dino of starting and running a massive adult entertainment company with what I learned is being a publicist and I’m just sort of found my way I had some incredible mentors the forest publicist go ahead incredible mentors who you know I went to when I started my company said how to what am I doing how do I do this you know and they were so giving and and so just easy you know so open Armon and I’m just taught me so much in a really short. Of time to where I was just off and running and getting clients and doing what I’ve been doing what I could I mean for me getting up every day and doing my job isn’t necessarily hard and I think I’m fortunate that I have that s Ellison and work ethic that I know is very challenging for many people but you know I just learned quickly I could get a lot of clients and and synergize and and do a lot for them and and just sort of Broad and from there awesome yeah I’m having flashbacks to reading a book called guerrilla marketing back when I was doing start up stuff and and it really did get a budget mattered so you had to teach you had to be creative and you had to think out-of-the-box so I can I can resonate with that and I remember one of a CEO for a company I work for has said you know the difference if there’s a difference between marketing and PR and marketing is what you say about yourself in PR is what other people say about you and you really really want to have that that perspective that that’s where the third person perspective in your printing and copying in to have it buffering so that the artists and the company’s don’t aren’t doing all of that he’s some kind of damage control I guess you could say and sometimes they just that stuff that Shameless self-promotion that people people can see through it on the on the receiving end and then on the giving end you’d rather not be tooting your own horn so much so it’s a really vital function that you play in the in the ecosystem of have any kind of business and I love to hear about just soap for people who aren’t that well versed in what a publicist does it would appear our company does tell us about the sort of day today and I’m kind of break it down for people who might not know famous for a living right you know the longer sort of breakdown of that is you know celebrities Brands companies hire a publicist to get there messaging in there and what they have to sell out there to the media which is then you know red watched listen to buy hopefully millions and increases sales increases exposure and increases the the growth of of whatever the brand or the company or the person is so it’s an aspect of marketing but it’s solely deals with sort of the public Persona and then obviously the media which radio TV print and online are the four basics of that and obviously they in this day and age you know what you know podcast would kind of be filed under radio but it’s also online it’s audio but there’s there can be a video component that can be a a written component so you have a lot of Lines Blurred when it comes to the media nowadays and I just think for me it’s important for my clients in this day and age there’s so much opportunity there so many ways to get your message out there and you know me and you know my team and and myself we look to find those opportunities finals relationships and and do everything we can for clients to to accomplish the goals that they have female except for us how’s your job gotten more difficult at all or more challenging in the age of social media where you have the potential for celebrities to put their foot in their mouth to and create these Mega backlashes online that you kind of do have to do some some damage control on that do you have any thoughts what the the social media landscape has done for your industry herself you know social media gives you a way to do a more immediate Outreach but sometimes you have to be careful clients have to be careful what they say out there you know what I work more left-of-center stuff where you know I’m not working conservative projects that you know they have to be really careful what they say but certainly at I work with clients that you know we talked about messaging and we talked about what they put out there and make sure we’re on the right we’re on the right track and we’re in agreement and on the right path but I think social media you know I think it’s it’s positive it’s certainly a life-changing things it certainly has changed the landscape of society and and whatnot on a larger scale but you’re not the end of the day we all are just fascinated by other people and they do so it just open doors opens doors in that respect what do you know actually makes me think about how it made some sense you talking about Dimension to have the image of Tower Records on Sunset and I’m just the decline of the record industry and all of the digitization of all kinds of media and how that took a big chunk out of profits for a lot of folks in an industry but when I based on what you were just say no actually realized you might think that the same thing would happen to PR once people could become demigod celebrities on social media by themselves but the reality is they probably need to hire a publicist more than ever because you need that filter right you need that you need someone to advise you on on the strategies of how you express yourself because it’s so easy to just fire something off that just Neo take sweat they say it could take 5 years to build a career in 5 seconds to destroy rights and all I would add to it is you know you need you need someone in my position when you have something that is so public and you need someone that can help you because a lot of times there is a lot of Crisis and a lot of people don’t know what to do and we’ve certainly witnessed over the years when when things go wrong or how you know when things are handled poorly and you know we live at a time where the media is constantly attacked so they’re going to attack that so you want to be on the right side of things and you want you know if you want to handle your media aspect as professionals possible and it’s there are challenges you know I’m not a brain surgeon this isn’t brain surgery by any any respect but it’s an important part of the marketing and sales aspect and the overall brand awareness of who you are and what you’re trying to accomplish yeah I think that was a good real basic intro and overview and just kind of hammers hammers in that this part of the ecosystem of success as a creative artist is not is not going away in or should it and so it was it is a breath of fresh air and I think about it a lot I think about a lot how how to moderate myself and there’s a lot of fear and and hesitation in this climate of you know you can really you can really put your foot in your mouth so I I I think it says probably at yeah it’s it’s been on my mind you know this whole your sector of industry and where it’s at so this is timely for me until I guess I would say to be somewhat selfish for a moment here with the last few minutes I would say that I guess bringing this back to what my my unique value proposition is to the world as my representing myself and my brain really it is I guess it is kind of element in a way I’m saying sexuality and pornography and all forms of of music and art they can all actually be very healing and very therapeutic and there’s almost a bias against that because people sometimes in some sense people want to just have really either extremely kind of edgy entertainment that just gets them off sexually or titillates them or sort of just appeals to that Hollywood sense of just completely not necessarily that intentional or that healing or that spiritual and so there’s kind of a bias against what I’m offering which could be seen his kind of all you’re you’re just a goody-two-shoes you’re kind of a mama’s boy you want people to be meditating and doing yoga and actually it might my sort of reply to that that biases that actually know what what some of the practices that are done in shamanic Sexual Healing Sarah on your work are actually equally if not more extreme and in and actually riveting and and put you on the edge of your seat as is anything that would be considered danzo or Triple X Ino Xtreme Hardcore and it really is Hardcore to be doing some of the more spiritual aspects of sexuality so when I I put out a press release I don’t know if that was the one that you saw or if that was a wet what the time frame was around that but I would just say to you do you think there is a niche for what would I would call shamanic pornography or porn that intense did not only educate but also to promote healing and healing from trauma and and what not yours if not longer you know when I first got in the industry as far as adult entertainment goes is very one-dimensional especially the media coverage and it was all about getting eyeballs because you could use the word pornography in a way that you know people be like oh what what it what are they going to talk about and then then then there was a change in the change happened when media like Vice came along and media like BuzzFeed and and other media that said to a certain extent and we’re not going to just treat this as one-dimensional because it isn’t a one-dimensional discussion it is in a one-dimensional product you know as as the adult industry expanded I found it interesting that the media expanded in their coverage and you have certainly the negatives does the word in general is certainly looked at in a negative way and I rarely use it I say it because of that is once you say that word and it’s you know maybe one day it’ll be changed or looked at not as this glaring sing but as a form of entertainment form of Education a form of you know healing as as you as you work on but the media look to do more coverage and be more multi-dimensional and to what you’re trying to accomplish and what you’re doing what you’re doing and what you’re trying to accomplish to my point is you can find media that’s not easy but you can find people you can find writers you can find me there you can find public entities you can find people that will want to discover what you are doing and will want to make others aware and will want to build the foundation and build a fanbase in and build a unit around it so which is not the issue these days the issues speed of time and the issue is just sort of the you know overwhelming amount of media that we deal with everyday especially in our current political climate where we’re being overdosed with one piece of toxic news after another and end toxic not men the political fashion just met met you know we’re bombarded with different types of briefs and stories and just aspects of life that can that are just so fast and furious and you’re trying to fit in there you know you’re almost trying to swim upstream and place you know place your story on a rock while well water keeps hitting in the face so I I I constantly am taking on opportunities and clients and different types of niches and different types of products and different types of stories because I know who’s to say that I know what a media person will want to write about or not I don’t what I do is I give them the opportunity and I find out hey is this is this interesting do you want to do this do you want to cover this and it’s yes or no or mid might be a maybe or they’re on the fence or they’ll think about it and we did we discuss it and see what happens so it’s just a the media is a constant River at its its 24/7 its domestic and international you know stories can break anywhere in the world and then just travel the speed of light and around the globe and become as you know become viral so it’s just a it’s just the the effort and the Mine Song of people in your position as to am I ready to take this Challenge on I’ve something Niche I’ve something unique but I think it’s important and and how do I get it out there and and what you know how many people can I turn on to what I have to build from from where I’m at well those are profound words of wisdom and I’ve got chills because I know that at some point I have I’ve got two to cross that and make that leap of faith sand and be willing to be criticized and be willing to be sued and be willing to be all kinds of things and having that team and I feel like the podcast has been a tool to to kind of build that team and to know if there is a you know what keeps me up at night is what happens if there is an influx of capital what if there is a viral content piece that get 50 goes out and it’s not that you become rich and famous overnight at you is that you become suddenly under the microscope and you need to know about compliance with a lot of things and so that that’s my Virgo mind getting getting very sort of The Fearless aspect where I try not to overthink even though it’s impossible but I just I just try and push you know you just you know I I’ve constantly at a career of why not you know why not internet a record label why not internet another one why not drop out of school you know cuz it was just wasting time and money you know and then why not become an assistant why not become a tour publicist why not go to an adult entertainment company Why not start your own PR Company why not work with Gene Simmons you know it’s you know if you can answer why not then there’s no reason you know and you know we always I’m a Star Wars junkie and I think you might be in the same generation or not but we all sort of live by the the words until the age of of Yoda and so you try not you do or you don’t you do not but you just don’t try to go for it and you know there’s certainly you you think things out and they’re processing is calculated risk and what not but I’ve always another mindset where if you if you’re if you’re thinking too much about it then it’s just time wasted you know you’re not pushing forward and what you’re trying to accomplish but once you get past that you know and and you’re not going to know if I sitting around thinking you’ll never know if it takes off or not you just won’t it is the action and it is the risk that you have to eunos put out there and find out if you have something or not and you know I definitely I’ve had all kinds of clients I really have and I’ve had successes clients it succeeded sold our company and made lots of money and I have clients that failed you know but it just nothing worked and Company disbanded and I’ve got you know hundreds of files of clients over 19 years and but they all they all went for it you know wherever they are you know there’s somewhere you know that they took a risk and even when I produced a reality show you know what they say it was a risk I was a dividing line of doing something and in what it is that hold you back from from going for it yeah I hear you there is just kind of wrap up here to respect your time and then I will just say that again More Chills and more of just that that cause mcnab’s you know there was there is one Flagship I guess I would say it was for me was like the pilot episode of the series that I’m doing now it’s called sexorcism the tantric Opera twitch wow Google Keyword that I want to fully on because a lot of without weather so I can get is an album is a band that did an album called sexorcism there’s there’s a to be what I would put money into an invest in to try to get some some media coverage on and I’ve been a little bit shy about it now for a couple of years just wanting to not be the one to push that in people’s faces but that’s exactly the layer of buffer that I need of someone to say hey look take it or leave it this is what this guy’s doing here it is and if I can have that someone like you How the Plantrika Dr. Yalila Espinoza is Healing the Soul of Crypto TPP192

Play

Yalila PicIn this episode I’m joined again by Dr. Yalila Espinoza for an exploration of her medicine journeys into the heart of the cryptocurrency and blockchain movement.

I first hired Yalila to advise on an experimental healing ceremony design back in 2013 after discovering her great works online. Now over 5 years later, we’ve remained colleagues and friends in the shamanic space, and have done two previous podcast episodes, it turns out we’ve also been deeply immersed in crypto-psychedelia.

It was an exquisite gift to be able to have her on the show this time to talk about this aspect of our life journeys that we hadn’t yet connected on, and see the many emergent properties of mutual understanding and shared analysis.

She’s been doing some amazing work to bring sacred wisdom teachings, ceremony, ritual, and other shamanic modalities into the the heart and soul of the crypto movement. Knowing she has stepped up in this way feels like a new multi-dimensional super heroine has arisen to build bridges from the amazon jungle to silicon valley, wall street, and beyond.

About Yalila:
With this unique moment of cultural evolution, Espinoza finds herself at the center of an ecosystem where powerful business and technology influencers are asking for healing and wholeness.  While working in hospitals within a medical model and then conducting her PhD research on wellness and healing, she noticed the gap in the delivery of health services and the chasm between her own esoteric spiritual offerings and the specific needs of thought leaders. Espinoza found that her clients, while pioneering new businesses and technologies tended to suffer from burnout, depression, and disease. She realized transforming the human and machine networks of the world, like the Internet, must begin with physical, emotional, and mental transformation of the self. So in 2017, Espinoza founded InnerNet, an integrated wellness advisory offering online programs, one-on-one coaching, and retreats designed to optimize leaders’ potential to realize their missions with creativity, clarity, and compassion.

Com and our journey together will begin podcast episode number 192 I am being blessed today with Doctor you Lila Espinoza founder of internet and a wellness consultant and she’s been on the show a couple of times before please go to my website and look up you’ll be the Espinoza you will find some very deep it’s a very deep Rabbit Hole added to the things we’ve gotten into in the past with Shamanism and healing work and now we’re going to be talking about healing and Shamanism through technology and through blockchain and all really new and exciting developments that to have have cut the world taking the World by storm and we are Kindred Spirits in our approach to I would say the the promise of of a decentralized more mycelial type of networking architecture for governance and for autonomy in for communities in in having that deep lens of shamanic practitioner work and in Journey work we can I would say really resonating really commiserate on the need for a a bottom-up approach to solving the world’s problems in in and starting with the financial problems in the capital distribution problems startup funding problem venture capital for women Founders for people who are doing philanthropic work there’s a huge need for this and also there’s a lot of people who are outspoken psychedelic Warriors within the crypto space I know that the anarchapulco conference has a a sort of there their opportunities for for for ceremonial work that that I’ve heard about and there’s also a crypt of psychedelic conference that’s happened at least once already if I don’t know if it will win next one is being planned but I had to have some some conversations with folks around that already so I’m looking forward to catching up with you you Lila and please tell us all about what you been up to and I love to just hear that they love story of you you’re you’re recording of the blockchain tech I love hearing about how people you know get seduced and then become Believers yes thank you so much for having me and saw the listeners I look forward to connecting and whatever way is in the cosmic alignment so it’s interesting because I’ve reflected in the past week about my journey with in Shamanism psychedelics and now technology because I’m giving a talk actually later today in San Francisco and I I looked at how you know focusing on the Life Energy centers of our body and how I started off an academic world in the medical model working in hospitals really focused on health and wellness and what does that mean for humans in in this part of our Evolution and became dissatisfied and then went into you could say that the third Energy Center of power and when it is Shamanism and in terms of you know how energy is used in in healing and really the base of a believe in Shamanism is around at the power to tap into these energies to know them to work with them and be in service to our community and so the power of the light in the dark and shamans choosing which way they want to search time is it really the the key difference so I went into a long journey in Shamanism personally 3 Anjali and going down into the previant jungle and having my first three months at Journey with Ayahuasca and tobacco and it’ll in isolation very intense journey and that really well 13 years ago was the start of my connection with technology and Consciousness I realize that now reflecting back because in that dream journey and isolation I came out of that we call them deetta’s I called him so much Journeys and out of that three months you know one might expect you and I are I love myself and I found God or if you know found my purpose in life what I asked that came out of that Journey with was the importance of finding a way to bridge traditional Shamanism with contemporary technology and that for me to be in the world and actually thrive in the simplest way what I needed was my iPhone in one hand and my pipe into back one another and with those two technologies I would be able to to learn how to reconnect with the soul of technology so so then I didn’t think much of it at the time but really then it led me to the second Energy Center and all-around sexuality and sensuality I did my PhD research on that and when it’s my own Journey around that piece of of my healing that needed to happen and then was serving as a counselor and a Healer around sexuality and psychedelics which maybe cuz I was speaking at Horizons in New York on the on my research study and that’s what I met in 2013 the sum of the blockchain folks and one of them in particular who is hosting me we became good friends and he led me into the folks who actually work Hill from the co-founders of aetherium in the start-up projects that were happening in your cat at that time is pretty early 2013-2014 and I can’t I didn’t think much of think much of the technology I just didn’t have that background so I couldn’t understand it but was fascinating is through my serving in an offering psychedelic Journeys Inn in South America to these folks in the blockchain world I was actually able to see how the mechanism of this technology in ceremony so my first taste of it was actually seen it you know hallucinating or altered state and seeing the connection somehow the minds of these blockchain folks are so strong I think it generally in the tech world that it was such a was so invigorating and an exciting because that I could actually asked him to show me you know quantum physics and mathematical equation I could see it and so then okay that I went to you no more of the written information and actually learning about the code and and seeing how and if practical way they would this information was being ground within the blockchain technology and then all the incredible positives that came out of this technology could be the foundation of a whole new like paradigm shift in the way that values is exchanged so that was really exciting to me and you know this this took me a good for years to learn I’m a slow learner and one way but I also like to learn deeply so I was learning it experientially and then your written material talking to a lot of the blockchain founders of Neo various companies and then he knows Tina and action and actually you know getting some of these apps and in learning me know what they can actually do and going to a lot of conferences watching Converses and and that just got really caught up in just the excitement you know this is a space that is just draws a lot of innovative minded future thinkers and innovators and you know just a sense of camaraderie and supporting each other and I couldn’t believe how welcomed I was as coming from academics in healing they they respected me and I respected them and I was able to learn how to you no make that bridge from my world to their worlds and really getting excited about the exchange of our information and so I just was seduced by I not only they technology but the people that were drawn to it and the dedication to changing our our economic Paradigm & in the way that we set up all kinds of you know housing and you know land and food and it is just so incredible so you know here we are 5 years later and I’m still right in the mix of it and you’re really excited now about virtual reality and Ai and how that can be bridged into the ceremonial space that’s that’s my journey so far in NFL well that was so amazing and I just was having chills and I could just cinematically follow along and when you got to the point of when you said you were able to see how the technology Works in ceremony that was so deeply moving and so beautiful because it’s such a multi-dimensional phenomenon and if in it’s so multi-layered into to appreciate I think I I made this comment to a friend is all it was a very very high level developer in his face and he and I I just made a joke in a recent podcast with him I said the Bitcoin makes Bitcoin makes crop circles looks like look like a play school set you know in terms of the degree of multidimensionality that goes into it and it is it is such a I mean and Andreas Antonopoulos recently and in one of his podcast video presentations and interviews he he said that when he read the Bitcoin first year of the Bitcoin white paper but then when you actually read the code it was for him basically like a symphony and he was brought to tears when he could understand the genius of it and it’s so apt for a for psychedelic journey to be able to ask for this for this field of of wisdom and information and Math and Science and Technology and code for it to just presented itself and dance in your mind for you in that place of ceremony where anything’s possible anything can be visualized and so I just think that is so beautiful on the inside knowing that you also this is really mind-blowing for me to knowing that you have this I wasn’t aware so much so basically we had already been talking and both of us had had this sort of like part of our subconscious basically beginning to be initiated into the space but we weren’t really because it wasn’t of our direct backgrounds it wasn’t an instant sort of I guess it didn’t click instantly for me I was explain how work and I thought it was cool and I was like yeah that’s internet money for anarchists that’s awesome you know but I wasn’t an investor I wasn’t a coder and it took a while once I went through you know the second Energy Center sexuality and and it was beat the psychedelics it actually showed me the importance of myself dropping my energy down into the first root Center where you no money safety you know security that whole place at a lot of healers you know maybe feel uncomfortable in or don’t have the opportunity to be in that often that I was able to really staying in this Center and part of it was that I was getting paid in crypto you know years ago from some of my clients who are you know the pioneers and in blockchain and I didn’t understand what that meant at the time I was like okay I guess they’re very kind and helping me open up my first Bitcoin wallet etcetera and I didn’t even understand it at the time and effort to understand it because you know what that meant for me and how to do the exchanges and things like that so I started off and makes it more The Surreal level of the fit if you say mathematics and physics and seeing how matters to me is a version of God of that Godlike energy and seeing how it comes down into the code it is beautiful really need and you see it yeah I totally agree and you know that I don’t know if you how big of a Terrence McKenna fan you are thinking of becoming more of a Dennis McKenna fan over the years but something that I loved about so endearing to me about about a lot of his talks was when he talked about the feminine Spirit of internet technology and how excited he was that we would be able to eventually use things like VR to give people immersive training or sort of it be able to create a visual language like the Ayahuasca experience where we could start to really understand each other better through through a universal language that is symbolic but also based on objects and colors in math and it to me this is such a fulfillment of that feminine Force coming through a lot of people who are you know he would always say that you go to a Silicon Valley startup office and it’s all these microdosing you know acid heads with hair down to their ass and I’d like to hear I know there was a time when you were when you were when you were starting to talk about Silicon Valley and bringing the medicine the same to you go and bring the medicine to those who are really reshaping reality from that level of of power of Technology do you want to just talk more about maybe without disclosing anything confidential of course just some of the some of the before and afters you’ve had the makeovers that you’ve had with some of the tech Geeks and how they’ve how they’ve been able to be massaged by that the medicine Spirits have become to Adorn one of them did gently say to me if they feel it’s not a lie to myself that is that a techie kid learning to love that part in myself and and and also honoring that you know every person is different in their enemies that divers field and that there are some common patterns that I have seen and the fact that I was given the directions psychedelics to serve a particular Community around the you know very influential and Powerful leaders in the text field that I’ve been able to track and and see how they actually lead differently in and really the the number one thing is the realization that the transformation is starts with the inner transformational journey and so even having the giving themselves that time you know few days it’s you sink into a different space in their mind right so it’s not like I have a container and say okay everyone thinking about your project Source. You know you know this go back to your family history and I want you to cry or something not at all what I was seeing is that the synthesis the stamina in the dedication in the Brilliance of these of these folks and that it really good-hearted people and that they were passionate about what they were doing and giving their mind that’s almost like the ceremonial space giving their mind a space to allow other information that may not be in their Consciousness you know at the time she come through and that’s where you hear about folks you know even the microdosing folks if they go to Peru and sit with Anna Ayahuasca Circle and I you know ask a question of it a problem that they’ve had you know mathematical equation or some something on their project they can’t quite figure out and that giving up space to have the different kind of intelligence guide them in in discovering a piece of the puzzle and so I find that you know when in general folks being very compassionate and curious and how these intelligence come together the other thing is in terms of their leadership is that once they are hard intelligence because that’s really a lot of the psychedelics the sacred psychedelics are helping us to tap into that heart energy into once they are in love energy seeing that the influence that makes and how they engage with their team member so you know more of a knowledgement that is it you know they’re all together in this project and higher level and it really honoring people for where they’re at in the heart of leadership is is learning how to inspire people to grow within the company within their teams within the project until having more patients and you know seeing the bigger picture so it’s not all about profit and yes of course I’m surprised and seeing that if if there’s a dedication to the why of their company and of the people that are there then that why and the purpose of the collective purpose actually creating more success and inflow with within the within the company so that’s one pattern also that I’ve seen Etsy the other that the third one is is around these texts Psychonauts of the learning how to bridge technology and spirituality which is always been one of my big passions and I didn’t really know how it so they’ve taught me a lot and in how this connection can unveil itself and in many ways and then coming from their religious background or spiritual background and then how they think of of math and in quantum physics in relation to a fascist like it blows my mind you know when they’re talking to me about this cell this Ray this field of the interplay between the Divine and the and form and structure and yeah I didn’t mean to cut you out there to say I wanted to make that mention so please continue the inner transformation and their their passion and purpose and then the second with the love more love and compassion for all the teams and and then that the more philosophical connection here that those those really stand out for me folks that were with me five years ago are still with me so I actually am able to track you know connect with the Divine or connect with the love Center I mean it cuz it’s not that simple everyone is sort of you’re learning a different piece and and so really what I love to do is trade space that people can share these pieces with each other and in how that actually informs that transition for their next step you know when whatever fits a personal life or professional life but it is still fascinating to me and I’m so very you know intimately woven in with with the baseballs beautiful well knowing now even more haven’t you said all of this which is so beautiful and invigorating and exciting and I just I’m so I’m so glad we’re just In This Moment having this conversation because it has been I feel like I’m it’s been extremely painful and in in triggering for me to to look at the shadow of what’s happening in this in this space which is you know I’m going to ask you to bear with me for a minute while I kind of organize my thoughts on how to how to bring this Dimension to the conversation in a in a good way I’m going to Omit using that the names of any individuals that I will not going to call anybody out or or put any putting it in the spotlight to anyone but but it’s it’s what would what I can see if we step back from from a more shamanic perspective is that there is a in absolute crisis of hyper toxic masculine Behavior that’s creating these extremely almost mythical an archetypal Wars of the Gods and end DIYs always think it’s a play on words to think about how Davis and Davies in in the in and they can talk about the devil’s right so there is it’s almost like The Vedic battles in the sky to me these genius mathematicians cryptographers programmers and them their armies of now the Speculator there’s all these high frequency trading robot armies that are trolling the warring factions and so it’s kind of like if you were to open The Vedas and you see them describing these battles of cities in Disguise and all of his alien foreign hyper advanced technology and the sort of drama playing out and the people on Earth are watching this drama and just trying to trying to create some record of it and most of it is just completely unintelligible to them cuz it’s so far out and so Advanced and almost seems like there’s just this war of the AstroWorld coming down and and duking it right above Earth dropping debris from that that Astro Battlefield and things just like falling on people’s heads and then people just scratching their heads trying to make sense of it so you have the bestest what’s coming to my mind when I think about these these programmers and their projects and their their Venture funding and all of these different puppeteers of technology in this battle between open source and closed source and regulated and unregulated in public and private blockchain Jaden and if it would it would it all is sort of sort of this rhyme of history is just these patriarchal warlord and we would calm just really do she really kind of integrated uninvolved masculine guys who are who are gorgeous and I’m just they’re just getting more and more narcissistic and sociopathic and they’re tweeting and and the technology of social media creates this really kind of Twisted Echo chamber and when I when I bring this up sometimes people will say of you know you’re trying to use psychedelics in ceremony and Shamanism as a Panacea and you know it’s not a magic pill and you know but I just keep saying like I think I need to hear these men do that family work and be brought into a ceremony where do certainly the ones that are that are just creating like threatening to just nuclear meltdown of all the cryptos in the opposing camps and just using their stashes of Mega you know stashes of of Bitcoin to flood the market and to manipulate as tactical that what they call the hash worse but that just happened in probably the hash words just knocked bitcoin price and 1/2 they’re just waving around these lightsabers and in in digging into the charts and and I one waiting for the sort of like trumpeting angels to come in and bring in the Davies you know the akalis in a Durga is going to come in and start grabbing these These are is Zeno by the by the Scruff of their neck and in and actually intervene so I’m wondering I know that’s a lot but anybody who is his familiar with yoga Tantra me all the scriptures that the talk about these epic battles or even from the Western perspective that the mythical Gods fighting you know this is not new and what seems to be the promise of the Shakti movement of Tantra and the Psychedelic feminist movements coming out of their group that you’re involved with there’s got to be some maternal wisdom brought to these boys and their toys you know so that she take it from there I totally resonate with this the Epic War analogy because it is real is that I’ve been to blockchain conferences and meetups in cities all over the states and and you’re up and and what really carries me through and I feel so fortunate somehow I have this eternal optimism and I certainly see the shadow I see the darkness 10 gauge with it and I’m still very optimistic and I think it’s really in my own connection with the sacred psychedelics in that they’re continually I feel like they got my back and they’re continually raising me up and and encouraging me and motivating me a stay steady with in the turmoil and I feel like for a lot of us and probably folks listening that this is part of our role is to learn how and these These are at War like an energy battle that we are centered and we emanate that that love and not always loving everyone per se you know that’s around us and in this these toys with our boys with toys and I do feel I can honestly say neutral when I meet them and I and I just said luck and I just what I’m doing is I’m like an anthropologist and I’m watching am seeing how they’re engaging with the but that the people around them and I start where people are at right so when I’m speaking to some of these folk is not like I think he would be good for you to do family systems work and come to this you know come to Peru like I would never say that I start or people are at I’m like what motivates you right now and you know once the trust his is built by and continually is is building and there’s a softening that happened so you know for me in 5 years in and I I do believe that there is a beautiful sense of respect for each other and trust this building and I’m watching where this energy takes us play so I what I can get really involves is the patience and perseverance and faith and that this is you know way bigger than me I’m being in service and being directed by these other intelligences along with my own you don’t be Discerning and where to actually Channel my energy and then I’m patient and it’s been tough you know I really wanted to get into some of these blockchain meetings and and I have actually is sometimes I’m like okay let’s talk about the let’s talk about how you know the technology is actually had of our human consciousness level as well as our laws right so you know how can we catch those pieces up to the level that technology to actually maximize the benefit of it and then you know how can we actually expire is that Founders and CEOs and and developers to to build that projects that are noble that have elevated intentions that that is a sense of good for all I do feel it’s possible yeah I totally agree I Kevin this is the most thrilling and exciting development in my entire life for sure if not in the history of the battle of Good and Evil on Earth that’s I really feel like it and you can see it it brings out the best and can sometimes bring out the worst but but really even those who would be considered more more super villains now in the space the lot of them started out as Jedis training humbly with Yoda it you know so they all have that imprint of that desire to do good eyebrows really very few people who I think are are fundamentally irredeemable I mean I don’t know if I feel better that way about anybody in the darker the shadow is the more potential there is to bring that medicine from those places so I agree with you and then I fly it’s I guess it’s easy for me to say or easier for me to say in some senses because I am a white mostly cis-male and so I don’t experience some of the author of out of the exclusion and in sometimes bigotry but at least at least Prejudice and you know it was through the women in crypto track at the crypto invest Summit in La last year that I discovered things like there’s only four percent of female CEOs in the US at least and then only 2% of venture funding goes to women Founders and that studies have proven that female executives are more profitable so whether you’re a feminist or not you’re leaving money on the table if you’re in any kind of a position of power in the business world in the investment world to not be creating more balance in in that in that space so I guess I’d like to ask psychedelic feminism Financial feminism women in crypto women in blockchain do you find yourself a building strong Sisterhood networks in circles amidst all of the other boys with toys as he said to align myself with very brilliant women in the field and be there and so we’re learning with each other and what’s just so inspiring is that some of these clients who are in their late 20s early 30s forging ahead and they sell I don’t know how they do it but they just have this determination and and also feminine ways of going through these hurdles in their in their workplace and them in the company’s and let me know some of them Founders and dealing with the hiring of a lot of that males and and and how that that plays out in the power struggles and they just they have such Grace and I just witness them you know managing it all in a way that’s it really inspiring and stay and then when they’re also going through these psychedelic Journeys I see that they just become more and somebody’s determined and focused and incompetent and and you know they’re also patients over time I see them gain their respective of their colleagues and you take a couple years of storming and and then there’s this is kind of settling that happens and so I I am extremely inspired by the women in blockchain in particular and just wants to be in service to them in any way I can so that they can continue to forge ahead also well on that note I would say we should definitely spend the rest of this our here just having you tell us all about more in detail what it is that you provide and what you’re offering and what your projects are now we got I think this was a good sort of philosophical overview and Andre connection for you and me to to get to get caught up in the space but I really would like to hear more and maybe we can also I guess we can go for as long as you are available at today and in this timeframe to talk about your projects and introduce what you’re doing with your hair with your new your new Ventures and and really make this more of a of a promotional pitch for the remainder promotional pitch for me that’s it really exciting right now is I would love to connect with folks who are working in the VR AI space and are interested in psychedelics not only interested but wanting to create platforms where people can engage in these different fields at virtually and so I know it’s happening I am in San Francisco right now I’m going to meet some some folks in the field tonight and for anyone who’s listening that I would just appreciate a shout out and I’m please connect with me that info info a 10.1 i n n e r o n e because I I really interested in collaborating I would love to work on a team whether it’s already clean a project that’s happening right now or someone wants start one I just have so many ideas about how this could coming to that material in the world and I know a lot of folks in the you know blockchain developers as well as healing practitioners and really wanting to be a bridge between these worlds in and connect folks who can contribute to a project like this so that’s my first pitch in terms of concrete offerings right now I think my two favorite people in the world now that had I met through the blockchain space are this Penelope and America they are the Cyber code Twins and their East LA born and raised Latina women in Tech who have taken the World by storm they’ve got TED Talks they have been winning hackathons and they have I think one of the things they developed together with second virtual reality drug and alcohol rehabilitation immersive experience for people who can’t afford to go to like Celebrity Rehab and that’s one application I don’t know what their personal interest is necessarily in psychedelic Shamanism however they seem to be very open-minded and they are 8 leaving One Like a White House award or something like that they’re just absolutely storming the charts of the women in crypto and I’ll send you a link to one of their TED talks but yeah I know that there it would probably be really good allies in that and not space I just wanted to mention them and then yeah go on please continue practical way the internet is offering three different project and the 1st is out there called dinner one Retreats and so these are live 225 day Retreats held in beautiful places for folks to get back to their vital bodies and be rejuvenated by nature to these are wellness retreats and you know cluding Mayo massage and Sound by sand yoga and meditation life coaching and team-building exercises and then some of the in South America do include Ayahuasca and someone Mexico include psilocybin so those are those Retreats and then there is an online program it’s called zero to one building blocks to Wellness and it is I was here I consider it more of like a integration platform for people so that they can continue harvesting the the fruit of what comes out of these lab Retreats or vice a versa can be a good preparation for Allegra tree and it’s focusing on daily Wellness practices and it’s interesting after how many years in the Psychedelic world I’ve actually gone back to the basics and I feel that you know it’s wonderful to be in a journey and see all kinds of amazing things and we still are in bodies in this lifetime in this earth and that I’m going back to you what we are drinking and eating our sleeping near so many books speakers that focus on this and a night it’s because it’s so essential it’s in so really the program going back to the basics and I just reminding us to be but I guess being mindful of our daily practices so that’s the 0 to 1 and then there’s another piece that is it’s actually new and it’s it’s pretty exciting I’m working with a group in Europe and it’s called Legacy Ventures and we’re going to be offering Retreats that actually is facilitated by many different facilitators and shamans from around the world and and so I’m just one of them one of many and offering Retreats on the difference element so have a 1 focus on fire and having fire ritual what does that mean in our lives and in her a lot of these folks are in our Business Leaders CEOs and and then another Retreat focus on the water and the Earth in the air and then that sacred Center so that’s just starting this year and it’s it’s really exciting for me to be cooperative with other leaders and also I just opening up to the European folk sand and feeling so what is that like and what are they wanting these days and then see the parallels in the differences between the United States and Canada and Mexico so that. Play

Christina Pratt picIn this episode I’m joined again by one of my most revered shamanic practitioner Christina Pratt, this time for a discussion about the effects of social media and other mobile apps on the development of the psyche and soul. She shares a wealth of insights into the multi-dimensionality of the issues and provides guiding lights of hope for how we can be in right relationship with our techno toys and tools.

We both share a sense of deep appreciation for the ancient technology that is the natural human imagination stimulated by nature, direct contact with the spirit world, and the experience of spoken story.

Com and our journey together will begin hello dear beloved welcome to Township hunt podcast episode 191 I’m being joined Again by Christina Pratt who is one of my greatest most respected heroes in the shamanic community and a very prolific author and educator and practitioner and has training programs and and lots of amazing things that that I hope to Avail myself with some point in the future for now I’m just a big fan of her podcasts and MC bless this podcast back on episode number 125 but I was called demystifying the mechanisms of shamanic healing and it was a great intro to her personal background and her work and we got into some really core foundational Concepts within shamanic healing and I feel like that’s a really one of my favorite episodes of please do go back and listen to that for reference to Cristina’s work in more detail and to give a bit of a context for why we’re speaking again now a really it the inclination I had to reach out to her again to do another podcast it came within a couple of days of when I pretty much deleted all of the social social media applications from my phone and could give myself a real juxtaposition of how rigged up my nervous system had become an is addictive dopamine cycles of refreshing thing clicking on things and trying to keep up with the Joneses and on social media and how just absolutely perverse it felt and how Aunt it’s antithetical to my my values my deeper core values is like from deep ecology and Ann turkel primitivism in Neo luddism and things that were a lot easier to attach to as as political ideologies before everybody sort of got pushed and sucked into this this hyper cyber eyes the Internet connected world that over the last 20 it’s just sort of been this creeping phenomenon and so with his breath of fresh air I said all I got it I’ve got to ask Christina Christina to come on and talk about what a shamanic perspective from her perspective would be really more of a multidimensional perspective on what’s happening to our souls and what’s happening to the fragmentation of ourselves as we get sucked into these networks and then they betray us and all of the sort of issues that are coming up around humans relating human sexuality human self-esteem and answer character building and all these things I’m sure I just knew she would have a lot to say about it and so I’m excited to to have you back Christina and thank you for joining us again and if you would please give us one of your beautiful kind of incantation introductions help us get censored in the moment so we can look straight to look at these these issues from a good place alright alright engine tations alrighty then take a nice deep breaths and bring your awareness into your mind and another nice deep breath and sink your awareness into your heart and another nice deep breath and exhale and sync your awareness down into your belly and from your belly imagine your ability to reach down deeply into the center of the earth as if you were a lotus flower floating upon upon your little lily pad with your stem reaching down into the center of the earth and connecting deeply into the Earth and drawing up nourishment and Rejuvenation from the Earth and then without rising up and out of your head let’s just stay here in our bodies and let your awareness rise up that stand into the leaf of a lily and into the flowers of this Lily and as as the Lily that you are just opens here radiant and resplendent in your your simple beautiful blossoming Beauty allow the Rays of the Sun or perhaps you prefer the Rays of the Moon perhaps Starlight let this energy come down and touch your pedals and your lily pad and let yourself be open and receiving of the radiant energy from above and then just allow yourself as these above energies bra in the blessing and protection and the below energy straw up your nourishment and Rejuvenation that these energies kind of mix and merge there in that flower let that flower be present in your own belly I’m with another nice deep breath just have a sense of reaching out to the energies around us that we are here in a world that is alive with Spirits many many different kinds of spirit energies or life-force energy has many different frequencies however you want to think about it and just let yourself be present in this world relationship to other things and yet aware of where you end and these other things begin let that radiant Lily that you are have it space and be sure that you feel strong in yourself to take that space to show up to be here to take space be present in your life and to come into an even closer knowing of why you’re here what has value and meaning in your life and make sure that you lived this day in a way that serves those things that have purpose and meaning and value to your own thank you so much for that that was a beautiful a beautiful Journey I’ve been in the journey Space 2 degree now thank you for taking us there and I guess I’d like to ask there’s a couple of a couple of aspects one would be your personal thoughts and musings on just the evolution of communications technology throughout your life experience and acceleration and just your your lens on on that on that process and then and then we can talk about hopefully what in your practice working with people what you’re seeing is sort of the the case studies of people who are struggling with the the rapid acceleration of these Technologies and I’m curious like what’s showing up on your caseload so to speak and your classes whether it’s your clients are your students what you’re observing within the next Generation as as younger people are really being formed and shaped by the stick by the technologies that we can talk about how does that sound podcast and the way in which listeners who took it seriously many of them because I guess they felt they needed to that was that lonely person on the you know oil rigs in Alaska are some sort of cracking place or somewhere where they’re really frustrated with the situation that they’re in and they feel alone there in it being able to reach out to podcasts like yours like mine and to receive some sort of Lifeline that could keep their soul alive in these sometimes remote I’m sometimes not necessarily remote but some of Solace places that people can find themselves few days and people took some of these shows and frankly some of them did more with a sequence of podcast and some of my students doing my for your truck really interesting letters from different people I won’t go into all the details with the point of all of that was they taught me that we can use the technology in a good way and then when we do that it’s it can be a Lifeline to people and so that’s really inspired me to be willing to explore and not just say this is ridiculous why are we bothering would be really easy for me to say so so that’s the first Pieces Just Two recognizing that technology isn’t a replacement for what we don’t have it extends what we do have that’s how I tend to think about it so the podcast for example extend my reach as a teacher to to speak to people but also even Define people to resonate as student to that piece of information that’s shared in that podcast is that the same as studying with me for four years of course not but doesn’t mean it’s not a thing in its own right and so so the podcast allows that extension of the teaching eye because of the podcast and the audience that created I I took a step into teaching some of the things that I teach in online classes and online classes allow me to teach incrementally in a more natural whey versus always sees intensive download experiences when you come for a weekend or week and do everything all at once and still allows for a more organic step by step learning experience and so there’s even some advantages from the online learning and so these are just two examples of using the technology that is present and in a sense if I use the teaching example I didn’t really start doing it until the technology evolve to making it easy for us to offered live so that there could be alive components cuz that’s the piece that’s always what we already are it can be a great value where we use it to create something we aren’t or to spill avoid in our lives or to create something that we don’t already have we enter into a more addictive or codependent relationship with the technology or simply using the technology amplifier false self which we do a good enough job on our own we don’t need amplifier problem so so a lot of it then boils down to what is our relationship with technology and how are we using it and are we educating ourselves around the technology itself so so that to me is kind of the key place of being in right relationship with it now if we take that it just a step further make a circle back if you want to but a step further is recognizing that in Shamanism we actively engaged in in making the our relationships with everything around us real mean Shamanism is based in animism everything around is alive with its own kind of life force and that the way for us to be in the world respectfully is to is to honor and recognize those other life forces and do our best to be in relationship with them and there’s a series of podcast with Kelly Harrell is another amazing practitioner in North Carolina and shamanic practitioner and she and I have been talking about the influence masses of humanity can have on larger spirits so we’re particularly talking about spirits of the culture and of the land and of different places in this but the the gist of those conversations was the realization that our life isn’t sort of the way it’s presented through core Shamanism like the spirit world is this fixed thing and we can go visit there and basically no matter how we trash around we won’t break anything but what Kelly and I were saying is that that’s not what we’re experiencing and exploring in these toxins that that’s not really real that we are in relationship with the invisible world and that over time it is possible for us unintentionally or intentionally to begin to influence it in other words we can play very heavily on an energy in our environment to the degree that that energy in our environment eventually morphs or adjust in some way to to respond to our sort of giving it a responsibility that it isn’t supposed to have in so my point in bringing that up because it really speaks to how Humanity in its worst manifestations affects the world around us even those energies we would go to to seek help to get out of our worst manifestations you know so that should put a raise people’s red flag and there are there awareness of we don’t really have the luxury to be as messed up as we want to be for as long as we want to be taking as many lifetimes as we want to learn how to be a good human we really need to get with the program so that’s my little subjects there but the point of technology is what I what I realized after these calls with Kelly and I are the podcast with Charlie I thought oh wait a minute Christina you are in relationship with the spirit of technology in a bigger and bigger way in your life and in your work as weird as that is given that all of your work is Shamanism you need to get right with your in your relationship with the spirit of Technology and as I was getting ready to do the first online class I really saw clearly up our object for the spirit of technology and each of my classes We Begin by acknowledging the spirit of technology and asking it to support us but also asking it to grow up with us asking it to come it’s a young or our current technology that you and I are specifically talking about technology like a hammer or a Wheel Technologies electronic mostly computer-based internet-based Technologies is a relatively new and so they’re kind of Adolescent and they don’t really know if you think about it as a spirit it doesn’t really know who it is yet and that if we could come to it intentionally and with you know real Spears love and our heart and help to to grow it up as we might grow up a adolescent child with incredible power and really ask the spirit of technology to work with us to find out how it takes its place in the web of life as something that supports the web of life now we are not very good at that either right we’re kind of a pain in the existence of the web of life right now on the planet and it pretty big way and so in a sense we both need to grow up humanity and Technology need to grow up to understand how to how to take their rightful place in that Web of Life in a way that supports all life and I think technology could do that you’re back to me puts me in this really hopeful place of creativity and possibility and I think well how can I be involved in doing that and it in it puts me in a much better relationship with technology than a place I can get into very easily which is wanting to throw it across the room that’s not a very healthy mature relationship you want to throw things he is really recognizing that we aren’t just like guns right we are not talking about the thing itself being the problem but what we are doing with it the relationship that we are in with it is it another platform for us to express our power irresponsibly or is it an opportunity for me to express my power with responsibility alright well thank you so much for that discourse in I tend to agree and I really like that you were bringing the word Spirit to it a lot of people who would consider that to be or to new age or something would would cringe at the notion of or even people who are within the more sort of stereotypically spiritual and if things would say all know Tech is so lifeless and Solace and but really it’s a it’s an expression of human creativity so it’s almost like that that sort of semantic game of is anything unnatural because it came from nature kind of a thing so so I do from a domestic perspective I appreciate we can’t I mean it would be I think pretty foolish to deny that there are spiritual energies and intelligences around all of our inventions and if it’s not just the embodiment for the imbuing of that person’s intention into something that is to put his that is not no longer biological or if it’s kind of also something you’re saying about I mean what I’m seeing just thinking about it is that we’re creating all of our actions thoughts dreams inventions Technologies they’re creating some sort of dynamic relationship with the Unseen World and they’re the living astral plane and so we may be creating these certainly if these tickets if some of these social media apps are causing extreme unprecedented levels of teen suicide than there are entities that are crowding around these opportunities to hack and mess with and opportunistically take advantage of these new reached astral bodies if you will I don’t know if that’s so if you want to go in that direction but I think it would be great to talk more about this Dynamic interplay that you’re touching on between how we it’s not just like this that we are totally separate from the other side or the Ethereal plane but they’re actually were in a dynamic with them and we may be altering them and pull them anyway so those are my words but I love to hear what you have to say that continue that thread interesting when people in their spiritual lives in basically commit the same errors that they would accuse you know academics are politicians of making but because it’s in the service of their spirituality somehow it’s not a problem that I don’t have spirit I don’t I don’t know there was any human being who does know like that so interesting ly what is it called human-centric which always gives us in trouble I think there’s a really funny moment in a podcast with David Franklin Farkas on that he has a guest and he’s talking about working with space he does a lot of work with space and space clearing and he was talking about really just how he discovered that everything has spirit and he cuz he was of the same mind that certain things didn’t but he really discovered as he did works at that was really kind of a foolish and naive perspective and she has this really funny thing about talking to the spirit of a microwave oven because he’s responding about the qualities of that Spirit you go yeah that’s a microwave that’s not a puppy you know anyway so my point about all of this is that we really need to be aware of the nature of our relationships with things so first for example to understand that designers of apps for our phones that. The operating principle is you want to design an app that is the first thing a person does when they wake up and the last thing they do when they go to bed and it feels you know the time in between okay that’s like creating a designer drug and I don’t mean a drug for shamanic you know spiritual experience I mean a drug to get people hooked so you make money and so part the thing about using these things is we need to be educated intelligent consumers me to have healthy boundaries as we need to have with all other advertising me in and the problem with being a kid using these things is they’re not there yet and so we as the adults need to figure out how are we managing that role in the lives of our children which I already just now I’m rolling my eyes because there’s a whole lot about our role as adults that we’re not managing in the lives of our children are not even supervised anymore University doing a training and University students from all over the world it was really exciting environment to be in and out at mealtime the kids tended to sit with their friends from their own country and whatever training programme Rihanna whatever and was very interesting to see the difference culturally with these kids that were mostly like High school-age kids and their phones are certain cultures no funds on the table everybody’s talking and laughing and you know just this side of a food fight and you know enjoying each other and then other cultures wherever it was absolutely everybody is on their phone just eating the mindlessly eating and looking at what’s on your phone I was very culturally specific sad but also really interesting to realize that there are places in the world that are way healthier than we are 17 different kinds of coffee you can have in the morning but they don’t have them are just not addicted to them cuz they have different cultural standards but yeah you you’re absolutely right in that you know our kids do learn to do what we do not what we say I am so it’s really hard to enforce some sort of boundaries around your phone use when you’re on your phone at dinner too turn in restaurant all the time soon as the people who would say that I guess it’s not it’s not you don’t have to be Ted Kaczynski to have a critique of of these things that that everyone can witness and the articles in mainstream obviously magazines and what not and I always just leading up to this conversation I was thinking about how trying to just take myself mentally in a time machine back before there were back before people had this before cell phones are ubiquitous and and I was fully grown at adult before cell phones even the so-called dumb phones where you could barely text message even before that and it was just knew you would someone was home or they weren’t home and so that would determine your plans for the night or if you’re going to do a delivery you’re going to use a Thomas Brothers guide to figure out what you’re going in life was a lot slower and and into some degree I would say more more pleasant and more interconnected and if you wanted to have a good time you had to kind of earn it and work for it and go out and and be forced to go out forced to go find places where people are gathering and sewed I have Nostalgia for that in my lifetime and it’s I guess it’s easy for me to still remember that and have some context on this but even now it says the so-called Millennials or are just the internet natives they say I guess the people who are born into Google and the Google ization of I guess you could call whatever you want but but I feel like it’s it’s almost past say now or it’s cliche to have a to lament maybe not the loss of the golden age before this but certainly lament just the all of the all of the road the increasing in an in an accident on my stuff there’s just so many indicators that are undeniable cisno long is no longer really this contentious debate where you need you know you need to have some extreme radicalism to challenge this stuff but what I what I feel like is missing from from this dialogue is what you would bring as a more shamanic perspective is to what what’s happening if you were to do the cross section of the astral body and the soul and to sort of the United States early to to scare people straight or to shock them although This Bitter from a small degree of a few just a couple few weeks now it’s saying what will this is I feel very violated by my own of all people I should have been I should have known better not to have gotten so sucked into this dysmorphia and his character Distortion of keeping up with the Joneses at a pace that’s just impossible to and you just start to merge with this this device and then you were living in this augmented reality of ranking and scoring and everything is a leaderboard and and so anyway you’re taking a step back from that and I’m and I have to think about how did I know better and what should I know about her and how am I going to not fall into that trap again and so I think about how K now that I have this moment of Sanity I want to sort of build in those healthier adaptive strategies and have more of a sensitivity to what it feels like when you’re being manipulated by your own your own neurochemistry right and that’s just on the the sort of physical print out playing but it but you would want to talk more about Soul loss and what your conception of how the soul Parts get caught up in our cycle dramas in their sexual dramas in in our personality ego structures and just what what you would see from that lends as his what’s happening in America in transition a bit to to what you’re what you’re experiencing if you have to a people away from their their phones when you’re trying to teach them in a class or if you have people coming to you for for care and counseling and and healing who are in mashed and some in this sort of digital Fabric and how it’s affecting their at them at the soul level I think that are important relative what you’re asking the the simpler one in a sense would be you know how do I manage that technology with my students because I do I can think of two students right now absolutely speed Wizards taking their notes on their phone when I can barely read my phone at my age and and in really complex and wonderful ways and that supports their process and so part of that piece is okay here are students to understand they need to not be connected to the internet while they’re doing this but they can certainly use this as a means by which they’re going to take their notes and track what’s going on and that I have to be as a teacher not annoyed by that but they also have to not annoy me by having it make sounds having finding seen that they’re not really listening to me they’re really checking their Facebook page that was that person wouldn’t get a second chance for me to stop like if you were in my class checking your Facebook page instead of paying attention when people write you need to leave cuz you’re not remotely mature enough to be that you can’t not check your Facebook page for 4 hours some people just had a heart attack just so you know if water is the people who just heard that and when they thought they imagined for hours without checking Facebook back to your heart of I think the piece that you’re the missing here is people that have no boundaries with this tool none whatsoever and so this is why this matters mean we can go into it from that way but that’s kind of a long walk let’s take a short pass the short path is this we need to put ourselves in the context of our purpose of our souls reason for being here and to do things in our life that allow us to express our actual reason for being here is what fills our life with meaning and purpose so there is nothing else not on your phone not on Facebook not there is no other substitute not drugs not not relationships not anything that will substitute you bringing yourself into context with your Soul’s purpose and so to the extent that technology just becomes one other way you’re avoiding doing that or Worse creating a false idea that you are your only making the Contemporary issue worse because this is already a huge contemporary issue for people to be able to track who they are and why they’re here now part of that is because they come to their young adults were already in a state of Soul loss and for many many people there so lost does have a certain relationship with their why they’re their purpose and why they’re here so so to been moved from a place that’s already estate of so lost into these false versions of connection of intimacy of intimacy with yourself of trying to find your soul purpose out there by clicking on the surveys and things on the internet all of that is just an ongoing sofa tray and so part of understanding the damage that is being done by the technology is not anything new in the sense that it’s just one more profoundly addictive and distracting way the Contemporary people avoid the personal work required to come to right relationship with their soul and then to maintain that right relationship as a guide in what they choose to do with their lives and their many Millennials who would go look lady I am working three jobs just to try to pay a ridiculously high rent and my phone bill and pay for my marijuana and you know he’s other things that are considered necessary for contemporary life like well I understand that that doesn’t change the fact that you are a soul who chose to inkarnate at this time so these are the challenges that you are choosing to have to deal with just as I chose that is a mile and the fact that the world kind of sucks is not an excuse to not deal with the ways the world sucks and the way that gives you a possibility to either be diverted from your soul purpose or you use the world around you as the raw material to get to your soul purpose and so and so’s purpose isn’t about follow your bliss and have a happy life Soul Purpose is a really challenging way of life that is cultivated but the reason to bother is that it does have deeply Soul satisfying meaning and purpose it makes it gives us a life in which we feel still that’s a human being and we believe that we’ve matter and that’s really what we want and that’s a really challenging thing to create in our Contemporary American world at this time because the culture around you is not encouraging that you do that and even many of the spiritual practices that you would think would be encouraging you to do that or actually encouraging you to follow their rules and to bypass that deep work that would bring you to your own personal uniqueness and unique genius and maybe not be so willing to follow along so the problem with the aspect of Technology you’re talking about is that it’s a light out of context you’re not in contacts with your own soul purpose I would never post anything about as deeply intimate as my sole purpose work on any of the social media platforms is totally inappropriate nobody would so it’s not helping me so so think about it like Google is kind of a wonderful thing it’s wonderful to be able to get pieces of information when you need them as long as it’s accurate which is another issue okay but that information is completely out of context and into the meaning of information changes relative to its context so the meaning of you as a person in the world changes relative to your contacts in your proximity to your Soul’s purpose and so again these activities any addiction drives us away from our purpose because we’re repeating that thing that were addicted to instead of getting at the uniqueness and the innovation of our actual Soul Purpose and so this the piece of the technology that you’re talking about right now create this false idea and for those people that are young and naive and don’t have parents actually modeling something different they don’t even necessarily know it’s a false idea that’s Rudy’s online groups and online activities in all of this stuff that there’s somehow going to create a true sense of the things I have meaning and value to their heart and my experience is that the things that have meaning and value to my heart are not found outside of that context of me as an embodied human in my heart I need to be in the world I need to be connected to people need to be connected to the energies around me and Technology as one of those energies but it can’t take over and spill all of my my porch if you will for connection to other things if it it can’t it can’t be my sole interface with other things unless we’re talking about someone who has some sort of challenge in their life so that technology is literally the only connection to other things right but that’s all she does let some people who would otherwise not be able to connect to connect but really what we’re talking about is people that are addicted to their technology that are not in a relationship with technology and so what is doing then is taking people that are already arriving in their young adult life in a state of Soul Los usually estate of really poor energy body hygiene and worse than that not very clear idea about what is actually going on here energetically as a person in the world and is sold as a lot of huge misinformation and all of that Googling around and traipsing about the internet there’s a lot of really bad as in really inaccurate information and so people are arriving at that place with with scads of bad information around them inaccurate information around them with no skills no ability to discern and then engaging in these platforms that take them even further from their Center and further from the truth and so it’s certainly not helping but it’s also taking that passion that we have in our twenties to find our purpose and do what we have what has real meaning to our heart it burns that passion out so it’s not so much that I see people necessarily more fragmented because of it it’s more that I see people’s fire to do anything about it being frazzled and burned out that I see their focus dispersed that I see there Lerner that’s trying to learn and understand what’s really going on here completely distorted with Vault ideas and really toxic understanding of what it is to be here as a spirit in the world of sleep kind of simple easy to do but simple that’s more my sense is that that via the information we get from these platforms and our engagement in these platforms our own energy structure and our desire and our heartfelt Focus all of these inner qualities that in the past would just in the past what would happen if someone would just go I keep falling into this pattern let me see the heater that can help me deal with this find Charmin get Soul retrieval get Soul Park Bark in a great stop falling into the pattern closer to Soul Purpose mean it was a pretty simple you know here in the physical world action and now people get on really convoluted Pathways before they make it to my door and they’ve done so much greater damage to themselves following those Pathways energetically I mean what I want to make steering is not so much more so long is because there’s already a ton of so lost when I’m experiencing is people who are creating mental illness that they don’t actually have that’s more what I see I’m energetic and mental mental emotional going from a place of mental and emotional discomfort which is pretty typical for someone who’s 18 19 20 years old in America to a place of where they’ve actually gone through mental and wellness mental emotional and wellness into a state of mental illness that they’re now getting Pharmaceuticals for Why does adding a whole nother level of distraction from Center and I’m not carte blanche saying Pharmaceuticals are bad when I’m talking about is someone who’s created the state of mental illness simply through their use of technology that they don’t really have and so now they’re getting these really strong chemicals into their body and into their brain really for no reason because they aren’t actually the kind of person who has a biochemical reason for those right you know this is something just came up for me as you’re talking about this really this all kids close to home in a lot of ways and I’m trying to think about how this conversation with people who are growing up now in this Ambience of internet-connected devices in Google information and all of the all these platforms were talking about and someone said not too long ago, where I heard this but it was it was kind of like every generation is going to have this resistance by the old curmudgeons you know who say back in my day and I was like this it was harder you had to work harder to do XYZ and now it’s easier because it Technologies to your spoiled and then there’s this sort of bitterness going both ways about you don’t you’re imposing these outdated values on me and you don’t get it and then so something that was kind of a record point of reconciliation between the generations that I heard recently was just this notion of where ya at people’s parents said the same thing about comic books when comic books were distracting us from their homework and they’re so perfect that whatever it was and it makes me even think about will the the juxtaposition between literacy and the printing press and literacy and how that would allow them to think about the whole some good old days of women read romance novels and boys stereotypically gendered Etc reading comic books and and the sort of what I would like to say well with a healthier template would be a slower data stream coming through Reading text where you would do no just have you wouldn’t have 50 books and magazines that you were you were relentlessly swapping to actually make an analogy you would have to for the amount of data streams you would have to be having a million TV channels and a hundred bucks a hundred magazines and a bunch of conference calls and things that you were just tapping through that was that was a novice a possible in my area of growing up and and there was just a more protected. Of pre-internet books and magazines and and social events that you would physically have to go out to and you could only do that maybe once once a couple times a week and so you know I’m just looking at this sort of what what are the essential patterns that that kind of are recursive throughout time and have a sort of cyclical pattern going on and in something that that hit me just now as a member there was a point where I remember clearly where I was at a birthday gift was someone took me out to the Wilderness on a hike of a mountain and I was so glued to video games at that time even their primitive state what we would consider very primitive now it was in they say this about pornography to they say that the therapist are saying that it’s a quote supra-normal or supernormal experience that you set a standard to and then being intimate with a real life human being doesn’t cut it for you because you’re you’re nervous system is so jacked up on these these completely artificially induced levels of chemistry that you couldn’t experience otherwise known as being generated by this computer interface so you know for me I remember how disappointed I was when I was going to be almost dragged out into nature to go on a hike and how absolutely DeLand dead and boring and even lifeless that experience was and how how betrayed I felt that that I would have to have section non-adventurous in an exciting experience and and it was all because I would just have rather have been sitting there playing a video game when I was getting spiked with all these I’m killing someone I’m being killed I’m maker not making some sort of digital gold value and I’m all of these buttons of teen pushed and I’m just at a rate that was that was unprecedented and so this virtual I guess it’s the virtualization of of the things that motivate our nervous system pleasure and seeking pleasure avoiding pain and whatnot and and another plastic came to me was just this this idea of whenever I whenever I’ve looked at the Tabloid covers of you know the Tabloid news stands in the aisles at the supermarket throughout my entire life I just felt this toxic losing Force this presents won’t talk about a spirit of something and I just could feel it and it was never and it was obviously Bogus Basin the fake block Ness monster stuff and then all of the drama and it was so over-the-top hype that it was easy to resist that I can never felt compelled to his to get sucked into that vortex but now that I see you it’s happened really is that everybody has made this like a tabloid ization of every individual and there’s an endless market for it and just this monstrosity it’s feeding on everybody the same impulse that you would have had to open up that tabloid is now you aren’t you have become the Tabloid and you want the more attention you get onto your digital tabloid Persona online and all these different platforms there more validation you’re getting and it’s just as it’s just Nick seems to be like you said about the designer drugs are just manipulating these low-hanging fruit aspects of our lower self that was more of just a rant you know something to put on a fit if you have I don’t wait around here and there well actually I want you to go back to the first part of that that you said about the idea that it’s cyclical and every generation thinks you know the younger generation looks ridiculous in their passion or whatever like that I mean obviously at the same time there is science behind how visual images and training ourselves through Visual images is actually affecting our minds that there’s so where the difference between the generations is this meat to this programming the brain to the repetition of visual images and we start talking about something different entirely and it’s not even just a different kind of fruit it’s like the difference between fruit and a tank and so they’re there is a study and I can’t pull out the actual specifics about where someone could go Google it right now maybe someone could go find it and tell me they found it so I can do that but basically in the study they were looking at the kill rate in World War II versus the kill rate of Vietnam and they found that in World War II that the honest truth was that most soldiers would rather take someone prisoner than kill them and so the kill rate was very low like 20% or something and that wasn’t acceptable for Vietnam they wanted to figure out how to train soldiers to go for a higher kill rate and what they found were was training them through a visual interface which is of course the technology that preceded video games and so basically when people are playing you know violent video games that are teaching them to not to override their natural instinct to not show people or things will never have I ever the game is that you’re basically being train your natural human instinct is being trained out of you to be a better killer and to not hesitate and that actually they change the kill rate for family through that training and Vietnam just something like 70% or 80% in the numbers which is frightening and at the same time you also had guys that went to Vietnam that I said look I don’t care what you do I don’t care about a dishonorable discharge get me out of this situation and send me back home so part of it is this really understanding that there was a conscious there were many conscious choices made that created a change between in a world war kind of way of going about live and Vietnam and our lives since Vietnam and learnt so the same thing is true then operating with porn and how has you were saying it’s training is it’s this visual training that is different from just looking at still pictures the different engagement in our brain it affects our brain differently and and partly another version of this another aspect of study around this is with children who are placed in front of videos instead of red tube instead of being read to sorry he’s my grammar here and that when a child is listening to a story they’re developing the part of their brain that imagines and visualize is in creates the the picture then go with the story that the person is reading but they find that children that are raised by being given pictures so raised on video so the end screen so the screens are being given to that pictures are being given to them they don’t have to develop their imagination okay so from a shamanic perspective this is going to be our downfall perhaps it already is being our downfall because our relationship with the invisible World operates through our brain’s capacity to access its imagination and then how did the spirit world essentially use the imagination to tell us things just the same way we all do when we dream at night and that imaginary dream world is telling us things sometimes things are not really very useful but sometimes but the point is from a shamanic perspective my ability to have a reliable relationship with spirit is driven entirely by my ability to open up my imaginary sense as much as usual but to open up my sensory body to an imaginary experience which then has meaning when it’s interpreted accurately that gives that’s how I gained guidance in my life is how I find a full part of how I know what to do in my own life it’s how I need a program that is going to be able to initiate teenage kids and fix that problem in our culture all of that is created because I have this ability to work in this whole creative relationship with spirit that is absolutely dependent on the part of my brain that imagines show to choose to not develop that part of your brain not develop that part of your children’s brain to allow it to be fed images and not ever develop the capacity to imagine means when that child is a young adult and is trying to imagine a better future they can’t do it they literally can’t do it because they haven’t developed the part of the brain that can imagine anything that they haven’t seen said to them so that aspect the visual aspect of the technology is really problematic and it’s why you get more likes when you post a picture with your posts because we gravitate to these pictures but they’re their eye candy and two even in working in this is how we spell the Visionary state in Shamanism it’s not purely visual the eyes are very easy to trip also and so it’s really about bringing your full Century body into these experiences but if I’ve been having images fed to me my whole sensory body can just be lazy if the soundtrack and the everything is just coming at me the images soundtrack all that I’m I’m not engage my sensory body isn’t engaged my ability to imagine a better future isn’t engaged so all of these qualities that are absolutely essential to living a fulfilling spiritual life are being dead are the visual piece and so in that sense of all it’s just like comic books well not really it isn’t it’s actually highly problematic and so one of the most important things for parents and many of 2013 old people our parents is that you understand this and you make different choices raising your kids the mermaid with you and that you understand that there is a serious effect delete deleterious to having children’s brains raised by video well I just had a a rash of chills when you got to that that point and I think that is probably be beyond the desired effect of what I was looking to create with the designer drug of this podcast switch with two to really address in and treat these issues but that study that you brought in with with the I mean the exit I should say I’m like I’m going to make a note to include this link in the show notes one of the most endearing films of my childhood was the I think we just called toys with Robin Williams and LL Cool J so worried I want to respect your time we’re we covered a lot here and I thank you so much again for for delivering more than I even expected and I think that was the the most potent way to to kind of wine this down with some some real practical advice about about monitoring what we all take in visually I guess I want to ask you now if with whatever time you have left to talk a bit about what you might see as some strategies for I mean lyrics I would say it’s just a simple as well just go out in nature but I was maybe 8 9 10 years old when that didn’t work for me and that was way before the level of sophistication with stick with this with these games and mass jol would go out and play in the woods and I still would do it for its and what not but but it was losing its appeal and so it’s not as simple as you’re saying turn your phone off and go to a yoga retreat or something there’s going to have to be other other steps taken and and you’re very very pragmatic I don’t know I wouldn’t say you’re really kind of you’re grounded you’re not to move about your precious to these things I’m just wondering if you if you have thought about it or if you’re working on something maybe you will develop some sort of some techno fast tree protocol or something but today just curious if you want to end on that some things that are that may help us get out of this this digital quicksand but I offer people would I consider the fundamental step out of that quicksand in an online class that I believe is absolutely essential if people are going to make the shift and be able to come into kind of a into a responsible it kind of relationship with technology that is response all that is powerful but is responsible and I people have to get their however they’re going to get there but I think the idea of just not engaging with it that feast-or-famine has its problem because they were not growing up the spirit of Technology right and while we’re over here trying to not engage with it it’s taking over the world right it was people teaching it to not grow up so I think that part of it is to figure out who do you want to be engaging with technology where where are your boundaries and end-to-end to make some clear decisions on uphold those decisions but mostly I really want to encourage people especially people that are in this I can’t remember what you said was an interesting name of the generation of being raised on the internet but anyway what I really want to encourage people to do is to understand that you read about joy and satisfaction in becoming subversive become a subversive who is Unser do so and if you can do that in your life to become subversive and recognize that you are being completely seduced into being a consumer that’s all that’s going on and that’s so expensive you should be horribly offended by that and want to subvert that system so I really encourage you all this find that inner trickster irrevocably person who wants to subvert A system that thinks so little of you and your unique genius but it just wants to turn you into a shopper it just wants you to consume he wants you to buy the next phone the next app it just sees you as a consumer and be offended by that to become subversive and in that to become unsecured small which means you can engage with whatever you choose to engage with within the boundaries that you set and that relationship of healthy relationships with it whether it’s sex or drugs or technology or whatever and and really draw what is good and true and beautiful and things out of them and not get lost in the swamp and so that would be my my thing as y’all are young you know become beings and change the world it needs to be changed so that’s what I would say Bravo of all that sounds almost tearing up hearing those words didn’t really that’s that’s why I got into punk rock and that’s why I’m still out there trying to to rock the boat however he can and that why we’re having this conversation and yeah this the spirit of wildness will will live on in and again thank you for for just balancing this as well nnn we’re not going to have an effect on the trajectory of this of this technology Technologies if we withdraw and Retreat and lamented in in the in a Shack in the woods yeah we will keep doing our best here will thank you Christina so much yeah I look forward to the next time and it’s really always it’s a blessing to have you share your insights and I will just again recommend that folks please check out why Shamanism Now podcast Calm and our journey together will begin podcast episode number 190 I am just more gleeful almost than ever before because I get to do something pretty rare and which is to have the best of both worlds and one place at the same time and that means that I get to in this episode really there’s only two may be very few other context where it was appropriate time to really bring the stuff into the frame but I really have a strong background in trap survivalism in you know everything from the zombie apocalypse fetish kind of saying and in the sort of post-apocalyptic sci-fi thing and I’ve just always been I guess it’s in a sort of them Mad Max 18 MacGyver should at the fan end of the world as we know it kind of mindset even from being like a 12 year old runaway and literally like living with a skateboard as a pillow and being a you know kind of an outlaw street Warrior Rebel or whatever like it’s just always been my aesthetic and and and it’s on Honest by spectrum of that aesthetic is the far more down-to-earth and far more really appropriate to just basic practical intelligent living for for all people like it doesn’t it’s it’s a the more moderate more sensible application of those abilities comes in the form of this very interesting training called the cert training and it is the community emergency response team training program that the Federal Emergency Management agency put together to sort of Create a Sim standard curriculum for municipalities around the u.s. to work with local I think it’s mostly fire departments in another sort of phone first responder type personnel and there’s the sort of collisions that built around training members of the civilian Community the way people at training them to be competent First Responders knowing that based on statistical analysis and most disaster situations is going to be several days if not longer before professional Aid gets rendered by agencies in a local or federal whatever has to come in like a disaster situation so it really before what’s the average citizen to commit themselves to some training to understand how to do light search-and-rescue to provide obviously first aid and to have some knowledge of how to really adapt to a need an emergency situation come everything from toxic chemical spills to toxic chemicals burning and fires to how to use a fire extinguisher how to apply more advanced bandages how to do triage if there’s like a mass injury or or a mess death sort of scenario due to the circumstance so it’s a really heroic thing that people have put this together and and there’s a whole sort of like a movie called like a auxiliary kind of Reserve Army of some Citizens First Responders and their people who have done this community emergency response team training and there’s several levels of it I have gone through the first level of the training which is a several weeks several module several week program where you go through a lot of these various forms of training and anyway it’s a huge passion of mine and I try to live up to the to the best standards of it and it’s a it’s always a moving Target and we all do our best but anytime I get a chance to talk shop and dork out with other people on being prepared and like you know what do you have in your in your your bug-out bag or your everyday carry or what do you keep you know on your vehicle for emergencies and just like comparing notes and going shopping at army surplus store and all that fun stuff it’s it’s just the it’s a good to Great Pastime and so here it should be no shock and no surprise that one survival women models who is like I’m bored with all this stuff actually turns out to be a fellow sir train yeah comrade in in all of this seems so it’s going to be a joy Exquisite joy to to go into these topics now with them and now has several time returning guest one of the the review and in the quiet and luxurious and an in an illustrious Alexandria Foxcroft back again to it now talk about this fun stuff so yeah with all that said how you doing what’s new tell us the backstory on your cert training very well thank you forced of all for having me back I’m excited that we both get to geek out on it together and share experiences because this is something that has absolutely been a highlight of my life I first took my type is my first recording training course when I was in high school and this was done at my Academy through my soccer team my coach was wonderful with all about Advance preparation and all forms to make sure that we all got certified so this was not my recertification since it has been a few years since I graduated from high school and I’ve always been one to look up to the badass people who are able to take care of themselves and take care of those around them growing up I watched a lot of Xena Warrior Princess and a big fan of Lara Croft Tomb Raider so I do my best to hide my skill so that I can be useful but it was a lot of fun I completed my recertification to see weeks ago that is so cool thank you so much for sure that’s that’s really cool to know ya most people do not know this existed seems like you were the best kept secret so do you want to talk about since it’s fresh in your mind just how would you if you were just sitting down with friends or family and I just came out of the course and then and ask you what you been up to you like how would you break it down for average people who who are going to just say like oh you’re crazy prepper nut job you know you like know this is very very practical stuff but yeah I’m curious how you would introduce it to people who haven’t heard about it absolutely so start training or Community emergency response training is a fantastic way for Lay people like you said those who are not trained firefighters they’re not trained emergency responders and they’re not police officers to get some of those same basic skills so what I learned in what the people within my call her cohort learn learn how to create a disaster preparedness kit what goes into fighting small fires if there is an earthquake and we are people inside of a building what precautions do we take before going into that building and if we are able to based on the safety and structural stability what do we do once we go in there and we’re now encountering people who are victims of this emergency a disaster is defined as anything that exceeds our ability to handle the problem and exceeds the available resources exceeds rescue personnel and results in loss of life and destruction so this could be anything from a fire to a terrorist attack to a zombie apocalypse even a massive flood and most of the time when this happens where are phone lines are down Powers probably out and those who are going to be taking care of the injured and those were sick and those who need guidance are they people about 95% of those people who are actively involved in rescuing and attending to First Aid are those who don’t do this as a profession so it’s great to have some people in the neighborhood who have an idea of what they’re doing and they’re at least prepared to Not freak out so much hopefully and get the things done that needs to happen when something tragic strikes so this was for me a 3 weekend long course where I dedicated my Sunday’s to learning resources and it’s great to connect with the community as well and see who else is on board with messing up to the plate and taking responsibility for so her family and for those around it helps me feel a lot more secure and my ability to do certain things as far as stopping the blood flowing in a major wound or putting out a small Fire by I feel more prepared awesome well that is wonderful and if it feels like a just after you take that training I’m curious to know if you feel the same way that you look at the world differently and you send you don’t take for granted safety you don’t take for granted security or health sanitation energy you know all of the really realize like how how much of a house of cards like everything we take for granted is about just like moving through life and using the infrastructure and he knows sailing through traffic lights and everything is just so it’s easy to get to get to two people they called normalcy bias is actually like the the term for when you don’t believe anything will it’s that basically that the normalcy bias is because the fancy way of saying it’ll never happen to me right about just the shift in Psychology that you have when you when you start to really look at like how vulnerable everything is and how precarious the the infrastructure is yeah I think that growing up I was always a pretty cautious kid even when we were in a crowd just making sure that I could see my mom or my dad see where the exits are and keep my wits about me is set that comes second nature in a lot of ways but she was training and just really helped me tune into crowd mentality more so because if something were to happen say in a stadium and we’ve all heard these stories are in a club people tend to just rush for the exits and there are certain psychological patterns that always happen when people are in Terror and they’re afraid for their lives where that’s when a lot of the Trashy occurs from trampling or getting stuck so now I am more aware of where my exits are if an earthquake were to happen and I were inside stay Costco what where’s the safest place for me to Duck and Cover so that in mind knowing that I always need to have at least half a tank of gas in my car I need to keep water with me I need basic Provisions in my house bandages other first aid items are working fire extinguisher just making sure my gear is always in check I know where it is that if I do have an emergency I’ll be prepared and I won’t be stuck scrambling when there is no oh yeah. Has certainly heightened my awareness and heighten my level of personal responsibility and I’m young the beginning of my journey for the most part so I’m gradually building up my cat gradually building up my skill-set but recognizing that it’s a journey and we really really are fortunate to have the infrastructure that we have and if something were to happen where that was overwhelmed we need to be able to take care of ourselves as best as we can and take care of our neighbors beautifully said and I totally agree in in the there’s if we kind of look at the gist the the population in general I’m after the statistic that less than 3% of Californians are prepared for any kind of earthquake at all so there’s so many people say was it that that was I remember where I heard that but I mean I’m typing so many podcasts in different commentators and stuff but the more likely than not you know this is sort of like the Preppers Dilemma to is that there’s there’s tactical survival has to like well if I grow a garden and I stockpile bunch of food and I have a bunch of supplies and I’m just going to be a target for my neighbors to overrun me you know when they need it but it’s like well then it behooves you to help educate them and get them on board so that the more resilient having a community the less that they say the zombie countdown starts when the water in the food is gone you know so if you can get water and food in the landscape than like you have the zombie countdown gets like if you can make that be longer and longer until it’s like oh actually there will be zombie apocalypse here cuz we all have granaries are we or I should say granaries but we all have long-term food storage figured out in I’ve heard it the Mormons in Salt Lake City are the most prepared people per capita because it’s in their freaking it’s in their code of conduct that they’re the apocalypse is near you better be ready for the end of the world so fucking lo and behold there the most prepared for the end of the fucking world they have great organization so yeah I 100% believe that when you have a community who is also looking out for each other’s back that means that if you know that your cans are going to expire than you turn those over and everyone else is doing the same that’s just ingrained within the community and for us to have that on the smaller scale than larger scales Within These communities where we’re not perhaps went according to religion or ethnic background that would be great I think a lot of people would feel safer and more confident with himself if they knew that when is Chicago’s down are at least covered for a couple of weeks they don’t need to be the one freaking out or going and trying to loot those who are prepared and that also comes with a side of making sure that you can protect yourself as best as possible and being cautious with when the situation calls for it alright so do you feel like you have many folks in your life who are like your survival emergency preparedness buddy so you can do drills with and have like a things like a blackout backyard campout nights to test all your you know batteries and make sure everything look for holes in your strategies and stuff to a little like a simulations and things I wish I did that would be awesome I am now that you say it going to start putting my feelers out and making that happen because Teamwork Makes the DreamWork that’s what I say the things that I feel have really prepared me I mean as best as I could be prepared for something like a massive earthquake I have no idea what what what that would really look like so all of its going to be just me doing my best but going somewhere where I’m really dependent on myself festivals major festivals like burning man where I bring it on my water bringing all my food all of my batteries have to work I am out there taking care of myself in the middle of the desert where it’s scorching hot freezing cold and it rains of all sorts of crazy stuff happens in a really heightened energetic environment being able to do that for 11 days on top of other festivals at work where I’m outside and exposed to the elements and really pushing my body makes me feel as though is there anything that I can handle yeah that’s a great Point certainly know they call it a radical sustainability radical I hate this that’s good training in good conditioning for sure and if you’re if you’re ready for burning man you’re probably ready for the zombie apocalypse for sure that’s cool and there’s need for I’m really really salute the the Medics you know the medical teams that the volunteer Medical Teams that come to party in other parties and whatnot they got Wilderness first-aid training and they’re all decked out but they’re also like still super hit party animals to eat us is not girls who are a great people it is wonderful to work alongside them and see them in action a lot of knowledge that they have and their willingness to share it with others and make sure people are partying safe is totally commendable yeah it makes me think about it is really has made me think about all of the the crazy antics of being younger and just going out into the night with no with nothing you know and just being at the mercy of like so many forces of nature forces of law forces of you know and now our the more like I’m you know I’m not I wouldn’t say I’m going to still have a lot of a lot more work I want to do in being more you know more as far as knowledge is far as most of all actually doing the drills you know like that’s the thing it feel like it’s lacking the most that you can buy anybody can buy a bunch of gear and just like have it but if you don’t test it and you don’t play with it you won’t like you were saying you know it’s important to know what you’re going to have some sense of how you going to respond and certainly under stressful conditions or different kinds you know so yes I so want to be figuring out your headlamp when you talked about which is going to definitely be forthcoming as is the notion of taking this survival women Persona profile platform thing that we’ve started and that you again I have to thank you because it was I believe however long ago it was you know a declaration was made in our first interview with you for discussion where I felt like it was time for me to make this actually come to life and know it’s it’s for all intents and purposes or a real thing and others there’s like a whole a whole like list of of amazing women who have stepped up and to present themselves and it’s still very much in the beta mode but what I like to do with it with all of the participating folks is a give them more opportunities to really highlight what it is that they’re passionate about and what they do and two to create just ongoing series on going a series of ongoing content for her profile per person so something that we would that we were talking about doing is like taking some of his Knowledge and Skills that you that you’ve been training with and actually putting a little bit of flair and and spice you know and possess to them and doing some like photo shoots and hopefully like it’d be great to do some instructional videos and things to do to your comfort level of of of you know where you’re at and have that be a way to just like nudge people with a little bit of Tristan located like Beauty and in sexy next to the to the extent that you like to share that and then they actually bring it all together so what what comes to your mind when you think about like what what you would do as a themed shoot for this kind of stuff like what your imagination go wild with these kind of ideas I’m so glad that your project is at that part where we are starting to think about what type of contact we’re going to generate for it it what came to mind was first aid wearing Taxi awesome Warrior Woman outfits that have pockets and not have places to store and hold gear that would be great I think it’s important for people to know how to use their equipment know where they can purchase their equipment and know how to do simple things like bandaging taking care of burn taking care of abrasion if someone is feeling psychologically Trump traumatized what to do in that situation there’s a lot that goes into managing an emergency situation that I have first-hand experience then and I’ve also been trained in. That is just a snowing at least seeing someone else doing this if you I don’t do this for a living it’s something that’s on the side of the hobby they can to and if it’s titillated even more fun I think I done died and gone to heaven I know I feel like I want to I want to just fall and scrape something so that you’ll have to like them. You’re my wounds or something that’s pretty obvious I think a lot of people to hold nurse fetish thing it like really comes from the nurturing energy of being cared for in the medical context it’s like really and sometimes your drugs to sow mean s another many people are so even to have someone bandaging a wound it’s really nice and all say sweet things I’ll I’ll take your mind off of the pain I appreciate that yeah if I used to do medical studies like a lot of Hollywood aspirin to don’t want to take a day job because they want to be available for casting call Civic they join the guinea pig seeing and they do medical studies for experimental Pharmaceuticals I don’t have to go through those various phases so I was definitely a study rat you know for many years and and I have fond memories of the nurses that would come in and poked me with IVs and take my blood and and do all that good stuff it really is a thing it’s interesting I am so curious now about that I am what was what was one that stand out to you you don’t have to get to Intuit Austin experience with the nurse or one of the trials a lot of crazy moments a lot of crazy by difference between you have to sort of sign up to waive your right to sue if you’re experiencing is that like that but the thing is I would say that it was priceless to me I mean I seem to have made it out without a scratch and knock on wood but it gave me so much exposure to what the the legal framework is for ethical study design and like just reading through so many pages in packets really giving me that shamanic like in the experimental work you know that I’m doing with my psychedelic shamanic Sexual Healing research it’s really it’s through the lens of having been through that system so many times and reading those packets and seeing you know who the the lead investigator is and what their liabilities are and what they need to cover their ass on and you know all of these different checks and balances that are again I mean it’s all pretty much skewed to create more toxic drugs to poison people with in charge therapy know about health care plans for but there is a percentage of it that is somewhat true to the spirit of healing and medicine but most of all it’s about I mean it’s about just understanding how to limit liability and do risk management I guess they’re big biggest concern the greatest is how do we make tons of money and manager risk celebra profitable because they do just get sued left and right you know like every every I hear the malpractices even with the certs a member went in the search raining I was at the fire department if they did one of the firefighter officials was like the main instructor and he was saying I think you said something like almost every call that they go out on the expected you know at least one lawsuit for septic some crazy statistic about how many times First Responders in the fire department like what they get sued for interest absurd so you know that’s kind of a Degrassi nobody’s talking a big it comes back to preparedness and in Risk risk management and number texting is like you know you want it like for example if you do if you have I know if you have a first date if you have a first-aid training and you administer CPR or you do any kind of like you are now you say you don’t have to do it by the book it’s like some people would say if you don’t do first aid training and you render Aid to somebody you were less like vulnerable to a lawsuit then if you did before say training cuz then they can say where you have your card and you should have done it like this and you were going to be like this since something happened and now you’re more think it’s it’s a lot of careful consideration and what not but there’s also like the Good Samaritan where did you give you good yeah it sounds like it gave you a good basis for doing what you’re doing now and being able to see why a cover-your-ass much as possible so that’s why I want formation that and you’re alive and you have all of your limbs nothing hello what are some of the highlights now cuz it’s fresh in your mind some of the things that you if you almost moved by your like the highlights of some of the notes you were taking you really want people to think about to get them motivated to take this up as a hobby make it up as a responsibility and something doesn’t have to be a chore but I think what what makes it feel more invigorating is to know like how how how important it is that you’ve become capable of being a hero and nice ways in and so some of the some of the data that you get from the course will give Tiffany get you psyched on stepping up so any kind of to give us a pep talk you know from your notes I have a lot of fun with this start training even though it was waking up at 6 a.m. to get to a class at 8 a.m. to group was great though to offer construction where a lot of fun there bones everyone to volunteer so we all have that part of us that is not evaded to do better and to learn more so you are a great company of the stuff that interests you you get to feel like a badass going in the face of a small fire and putting it out you learned valuable skills that will make you a more competent human being able to protect your family better protect yourself and they’re a little tidbits of information that you’re able to that has Daft into your life that will help you avoid those things that get people into trouble little things like not having enough gas if you need to just get the heck out of town or not having enough water because that’s essential when it’s our water goes out we’re not able to take showers were not able to flush our toilets were not able to just run the snake we need to have water not just to drink and Keep Us Alive but to get there are they so you’re going to be building up the skill sets in this information where you’re gradually making yourself more prepared that even if something terrible doesn’t happen you still have the things that you need you start to think of life in a more organized fashion and you want to secure your house in a way that makes it that I can hear you can get around and you can you have access to the important thing a great day today life skill, it’s that it’s a really well and I think today the important shift that I have had in that I try to promote to people want to talk about this is that really the peace of mind that comes from being more prepared and knowing that you have the skills in a training to respond appropriately to pretty much any emergency or disaster situation that helps you sleep better at night and it helps you be less fearful and really it’s funny cuz people will say it’s tragically funny that people will say oh my God you look at you like you’re so paranoid look at you you know do all these extra steps and you know put your money into this and that it’s like actually I have a better quality of life knowing that having done this these procedures and being prepared in these ways I act so we can enjoy day-to-day life a lot more and not have this like this overarching kind of looming anxiety about knowing subconsciously that I’m totally vulnerable to anything and I have like no resilience it’s been that shift for me has been really has been really great I know other people who who are on this path and who enjoy this process together they have that same sort of deep deep bike relief sense of inner peace and relief knowing that they’re they’re not going to be out there begging and fighting and you know they’ll be able to be my best security so keep speak to that just this that sort of that in front of mindfulness and it and made it to that place you know it’s up to connect it with that sort of them that sort of a special things absolutely I found it to be really really nice to enhance my responsibilities when it comes to their personal responsibility and that form a circle. Just being the ability to respond if I will put in a position where life was changed drastically I feel confident knowing that I can step up to the plate and handle things for myself and organize things as well for the past are training I made it a point to take on leadership positions as much as possible and having this inner peace and knowing that when chaos is going on around me people are looking for Direction when they don’t know what to do I can help because I found that in her Serenity to just make space make room for there to be organization structure and just get things moving and flowing in a way that allows us to get through it as fast as we can with what we have available absolutely hey what just came to mind to me when you said I was like you know people have it so easy when they study the Eastern Arts at meditation and they do it and then he totally feng shui peaceful really intentional environments and it makes me think that really it would be addicts interesting to go and do Transcendental Meditation or whatever else you like to do or just yoga and do it in any rush hour traffic while there is Jack Hammers and construction going on just like in the middle of the downtown all of that have that experience that I will you be able to hold that that peaceful cam sensor it in a bin where they surrounded by chaos and yeah you got to you got to not panic you know you really you really got to know that you’re not going to panic write this most of most people will and if you do then they do to it’s very contagious and keep your calm a panic is I think the most valuable skill that one can attain for themselves have you something if something happened it’s hard to know until you’ve been there so it would every detail you know you care to share I’m curious to have you do you have some experiences throughout your life where you felt like you were you were in like a hectic situation you were able to to draw upon a sort of instinct Shore or a prime or even more of a trained and more of it I guess I’m going to have you do you have like personal narratives of incidences incidents that she responded to an and how you would kind of reflect on them now with the with this training in your mind sure I’m the first thing that comes to mind is working as peer support through them. Which is an organization organization and going to Festival where things are super chaotic people are changing their Consciousness in many forms and they’re coming to us perhaps bringing a friend to their desire and we’re here to do other things than babysit we’d rather not take him to the medical tent or you can get arrested so here you have them and this is his play stitches do what he needs to do in a safe manner that those experiences are coming to buy because one in particular someone who wants a large man over 6 ft tall and 5 5 and she has power over me really really agitated the one that make other people feel uncomfortable with his presence he’s just very out of it and I walked up to him talk to him is like anyone else asked him what he needed and I felt as though and I was able to just be there for him not as a guide not as a director not as a leader but just as person-to-person contact style you need to pour and I am here to be. make sure you don’t hurt yourself make sure you don’t hurt him at all and because my background is in Psychology I’m particularly primed for being able to approach these situations with care and consideration and just like we’re all human we have all had days where we don’t feel totally ourselves and sometimes that’s more apparent and extreme than in others and knowing that I can be there when someone’s really freaking out and seemed like they might hurt someone and just deescalate the situation I am grateful that that is very very likely born out of these practices of meditation and yoga and self-regulation still makes me honestly think that if it’s funny because the the cert training system it’s very secular as it would need to be you no it’s not it’s not partial to any religious tradition or 1:19 I felt like I was just kind of the way it’s like going to the post office or something you know it’s not very spiritual and have Feria Wu at all but I do I would believe that that there are there be I could see a space for for their you know if not in the official official by the book search training certainly people who are making me just makes me think I wonder if there are people who really proactively solicit the the first responder Community for like custom yoga classes in custom wellness retreats in it makes me think that’s got to be a huge Market Niche you know cuz they’ve got so much PTSD they have so much stress so much responsibility and I wonder what they do on a spiritual in mindfulness kind of self-care serve chip and maybe that’s something maybe that’s a gap that that you will Bridge somehow either did you ever hear considered kind of Outreach and your services in and sort of marketing to I mean maybe you do you have a fireman fetish furniture I do have a person in uniform I appreciate people who are able to take care of things myself that’s super hot and attractive and had to be able to offer that to those who are really totally embodying the put your life on the line for others is to get back in that way I currently offer Community classes in my neighborhood and to expand that to the police department the fire department medical professional yeah that sounds great. Another fantastic idea because you just brought up the police department it makes me think you know okay police brutality what about police yoga classes and then less police brutality because police yoga write this if there’s so much stress and anxiety that they are carrying around through their days until their homes back to work and then out to the general public. That’s likely why so much of this trigger having a secret so if we are able to channel that in a way that’s more productive and just likes entering in it doesn’t have to be a burden that I can’t even fathom the things that they deal with on a day-to-day basis that would drive many people mad that they are able to handle let’s make it so that they can just not stuff it down and bury it and then it comes out in the grass of scary harmful ways but we can Channel it and provide self-care well I just had a crazy vision of you being like the second coming of Pam Grier to do like you your police officer and when you arrest people you you you telling me have to get into yoga poses you know I can sit down on the ground up against the wall Foxy Brown yeah you know I can’t say that I really thought seriously about law enforcement because medicine is my passion but should be there for people and the escalator situation with some yoga Galaxy influence the way it was only an innocent Ematic contacts that I could imagine you being a cop I think it would be it would be very fun to play with the notion that everything is hackable including our are stereotypes about police you know good magic you know it’s a Jedi mind trick on a thing you know if you can if you can if you can I think they I think they all police officers are are starved of of of appreciation and I think when you when you know how to authentically show them that you appreciate the risks are taking with their own lives to do Austin you know community service work and you know maybe it’s not always getting cats out of a tree but it’s also not always beating up on people of color and it’s been a growth Edge for me to not be such a simple-minded Anarchy you know who is psyche has. Juvenile mentality towards being ever cereal to the state and its and its soldiers and and and cops so yeah I can only see I mean the timeshare thing to is like you just alchemize everything in you and you say you know make friends out of your enemies in in in 5 that Unity Consciousness and so well we’re getting into some interesting fun territory but I feel like there’s there’s what’s up with unity 2D just bring more spirituality mindfulness to to the Department’s you know these departmental bureaucracies and a lot of people just trying to do decent good work in the community but also maybe not having a spiritual tools so maybe it’s something you’ll be able to to give back in in to feed back into into that world I would love that in this you or any of your viewers have solid ideas or leads into how we can make this happen because I would really love to offer but at a shin yoga to First Responders they do a lot of work for the greater good I’m all year please forward that to me cool but I think this as usual it’s always kind of a a magical ceremonial brainstorming session you know so all these things that were imagining your are starting to really be there materializing on on a on a settler energetic plane and and I think they will find their way into mean for now we have it we will absolutely come together and with whatever crops and gear and equipment that we have amongst us we will have fun with cameras and survival gear and we will start this this journey and who knows if the other people who find it and share it online you know we could really I mean it’d be great to have even more mentors you know it people who were her more for further down these past ultimately to be able to work with you not to be able to own ambulances and have our own you know our own actual decentralized autonomous first responding there’s actually a there’s actually cryptocurrency token project that is thick the Uber of First Responders and they are using yeah they’re using like a crypto token incentivization it’s called Guardian I believe it was called and it was a guardian token I think it was called but it’s like they figured out how to take like places throughout the world where there’s not a lot of medical infrastructure and first-responder infrastructure and be able to basically send out like GPS kind of like uber type requests and then so that empowers people on bicycles and motorcycles and imagine like peer-to-peer first 8 yeah yeah so have you been spokesmodel for that if there’s something I mean it’s here if they’re if they’re surviving the crypto bear Market you know so let me know thank you so much we really covered a lot and in this has been really fun to just have for me less if I really focused agenda and just be able to kind of meander and in brainstorm and come up with fun ideas in and then those that are the most married to the most virtuous in with the most Merit shell Shelby will come to fruition and that will make some great art happen very soon and just keep the good times rolling so I’d say 2 to close out I think it’d be great to kind of show Jason highlight your gifts some of them which are to really be able to help people navigate their their inner thoughts capin mindscape and Rehab gray to create some sort of spontaneous affirmative meditation kind of guided meditation to to bring people-centered into the Consciousness that you feel you’re cultivating with having that Duty and that calmness and that competence to take more responsibility and just sort of yeah sure something big comes to mind for you if you like and then of course your your website places to get people to get ahold of you and I will call to show yeah that sounds great and thank you for the fun and being willing to go down these different.
